Why Labour Already Starting to Ruin the UK
21 Nov 2025 · 9 min
A short podcast rant (recorded Oct 3, 2024) criticising the UK Labour party’s proposed 'right to switch off' policy—arguing it encourages entitlement, reduces productivity and worsens the UK's already poor post-war-relative economic state. The episode also includes a promotional segment by Rob Moore advocating gold and silver (via Direct Bullion) as a pension and inheritance-protection strategy.

Warning. Labor may already be ruining the uk. I didn't think the UK could get any worse. This is a shocker trigger. Warning. I am going to rant. This is going to piss some people off. But it's fine because everyone is entitled to my opinion. So labor have this crazy notion of something called or the right to switch off and part of getting the votes, you know, from all the people who hate the rich and hate landlords, which is most of the population, because it's propaganda to them by mainstream media. They had this thing, this really great brainwave that they were going to ban employers from contacting their staff out of office hours. So it gets to 5:01pm and no employer is allowed to contact their staff. 5. Oh, shit. Nearly went into the river. 5:01pm Friday. Oh, even though you pay me, even though you pay my mortgage and my bills, you can't contact me till Monday, 9 o', clock, but I can come into the office at half nine, I can take my kids to school, I can have a one and a half hour lunch, I can sit at the water cooler and talk to everyone. I can go on social media for three hours in my eight hour day, but at 5:01 when I clock off on my mental health, you can't contact me until Monday morning. I mean, what sort of utter socialist, communist victim entitled nonsense is that? What the fuck? What if there's an emergency? What if there's an opportunity to do good work, solve a problem, earn some commission? Oh, but no, no, no. What we have to do is we have to find all the lazy people in the UK, which is probably about 70 out of 75 million, and we have to make them even more lazy and even more entitled and encourage them to work even less.
This recent budget should warn you that your pension is not safe and secure and they're coming for your inheritance. Do you even know how much is in your pension or where your pension is invested? Add to this the recent inheritance tax grab on your pensions and the risk of a market crash. You probably didn't know this and I didn't until recently, but physical gold can be added to your pension. Pot gold is inheritance tax free and has grown 700% in the last 20 years. Gold, you probably know from my content I'm investing heavily in silver and gold and that's why I've partnered with Direct Bullion. Myself and Nigel Farage are brand ambassadors and direct bullion can help you with gold to protect and grow your pension. I buy my gold and silver from Direct Bullion and I don't earn any money on any purchases of gold or silver if you buy direct from direct bullion. So if you go to robmore.directbullion.com you can get a great price on your silver and gold and you can get the Pension Gold Investing guide completely for free. As you know, I don't do many strategic partnerships and when I do, I do them with people who are credible, who've been doing it a long time, who invest in things that I invest in too. And gold and silver's going wild. I'm investing heavily in gold and silver and I recommend you check out robmore.directbullion.com.
Do you know this? Do you know that this country is in the worst financial state relatively since the Second World War? So for what, for teens, 80 years cost of living, relativity is the worst. So imagine Churchill after the Second World War or take a few years off now you've fought in the war, you must be tired, go and take a few years off, go look after your mental post war health. No, Churchill would be like, right, let's build this country again, let's make it great, let's build an empire. We built an empire off the back of winning wars and now Labour have won and they're going to let everybody who does any kind of work block and ban their employer from contacting them at 5:01pm for their mental health and their work life balance. They're even talking about having automated software so that if the employer does email@5O1 with an emergency that could make the money that could solve the world's meaningful problems, software will kick in and stop that landing on their desk until half past nine when they turn up half an hour late. Do Labour not understand that this country is in its worst state since the Second World War? Laziness and apathy, entitlement, socialism, communism. We've sent all the millionaires and billionaires away because there's no reason for them to be in this country. The homelessness and unemployment's going through the roof, inflation's gone through the roof, everything's so expensive and now labor are basically saying, let's be lazier, let's do less. Oh, wait a minute, no, don't contact me out of office hours. This to me, honestly, absolute nonsense in my humble opinion. So let me know what you think in the comments about this right, to switch off because surely, I mean I'm, I go for walks at 2 and 3 in the morning, I send voice memos at 3 in the morning. I don't expect my staff to reply until three in the morning. They manage their own time, I manage mine. But I expect that message to be delivered. And if they don't want to listen to it or read it, they can wait until they're ready to listen to it and read it. And surely we're just teaching people to be even more entitled, even more work shy. Now here's the irony. Labour, the word labor means work. And now this right to switch off is essentially saying less work, work from home, walk the dog. I want to do three days work, five hours a day and I want to get paid 12 days a week for it because I deserve it, because I am of the new generation. I mean, honestly, this shit is absolute nonsense. What do you think? I know I'm going to get a lot of hate for this, especially from people who say, well, work, life, balance. But here's the thing. Isn't having good mental health about being good at something? Isn't it having good mental health about earning good money and feeling valuable and feeling useful and being part of a community that's doing something exciting and disruptive and useful, Is that not what having good mental health is? So, and by the way, when we're in prosperity, you know, when the economy is growing at three and a half percent a year and when we've got all the billionaires moving to the UK and creating thousands of jobs and building big. Think of all the buildings, the big beautiful iconic buildings we used to build. We are Great Britain. And now what do we build? Nothing. Because anyone with any money's fucked off. They've gone to Monaco, they've gone to Dubai. Monaco, Dubai, Portugal. They embrace entrepreneurship, they understand that a bit of hard work is required to, you know, Brexit lockdown. I mean these are the. We are the closest to World War Three. The economy is the worst since the Second World War in terms of relative spending power. The answer to that is not to do less and look after your mental health and take a few days off a week and don't contact me about anything work related between the hours of all hours. No, that does not solve any mental health issues. That does not solve any issues within our nation. Essentially do meaningful shit, struggle and deal with challenging things that you overcome and you transcend that you're passionate and inspired by growth. What about growth? It's so funny when the Conservatives were bragging about 1% economic growth better than X European country, except America's like 3 odd percent. I mean, in a way America's way more fucked and yet it's still growing. An economy as an economy. Much, much more than we are.
Anyway, rant over.
And remember, if you don't risk anything, you risk everything.
