3 Most Important Words For Marketing Any Business
30 Jul 2020 · 12 min
In this inaugural solo podcast episode, host Ruth Kusemiju (Social Media Boss Nelly) opens with a reflection on Gary Keller’s quote and the principles from his book The One Thing, emphasizing the power of narrowing focus to a single priority for success. She then introduces the core framework of three essential words for marketing—Trust, Relationships, and Efficiency (T‑R‑E)—explaining why each is critical: trust as the foundation for any transaction, relationships as the engine of human connection, and efficiency as the optimal use of limited time. Ruth critiques the current trend of relying on automated, impersonal marketing tools that masquerade as efficient, arguing that true efficiency comes from purposeful, relationship‑focused actions. To help entrepreneurs apply these ideas, she announces a private business group on Facebook and LinkedIn offering proven client‑attraction and sales systems, free for 60 days before a low‑cost monthly subscription. Throughout, she stresses the need for entrepreneurs to stay focused, agile, and avoid the overwhelm of endless marketing noise, urging listeners to join the group, take actionable steps, and subscribe for future episodes.

Hi there, Social Media Boss Nelly with you today on her first podcast episode on marketing tactics for entrepreneurs. And today being our first time together, I decided to talk to you and not teach too much. But I know definitely as the week goes by and as more weeks come, definitely we'll have much more exciting times together. Okay, so I wanted to start off with my quote for the week, and it was written by Gary Keller. He says that, um, it is not that we have too little time to do all the things we need to do, it is that we feel the need to do too many things in the time we have. I can so relate to that quote. Um, it made me also remember a book that he wrote titled The One Thing. And, um, basically what the book was just talking about was the one thing, um, is the best approach to getting what you want. And usually success is, um, is a result of narrowing your concentration to just one thing. And then success obviously is built sequentially, one thing at a time. And sometimes different ideas might rise up. And, um, I think he also made mention of something like 5 big ideas when he talked about that not everything matters equally. Multitasking is a lie. Yes, I know I multitask and it's not good, but it can be good. And then discipline is as a result of habit. Willpower is a finite resource. And big is bad. Anyways, um, I think my takeaway from the book was that, um, the one thing actually is the best approach to getting what you want. And I mean, I know Keller had— has had huge success, and he had narrowed his concentration to one thing. And where his success varied, his focus had to. So what I'm trying to say to you is that, um, when you want the absolute best chance to succeed at anything you want Your approach really should be, should always be the same. Go small because you realize that extraordinary results are directly determined by how narrow you can make your focus. Specificity, specificity. Yeah, and then you need to be doing fewer things for more effect instead of doing more things with side effects. Now let me say that again because that really rang a bell. You need to be doing fewer things for more effect instead of doing more things with side effects. Okay, so let's fast forward to the topic for today. Basically, the 3 important, uh, words for marketing or growing any business. Okay, so you want to know what these 3 words are? Very, very simple. Trust me, we use them every single day. I just actually even told you the first word— trust. So it's trust, relationships, and efficiency. T-R-E: trust, relationships, and efficiency. I mean, personally, I don't think it's even debatable, though some people think that maybe actually it's not scalable. But though it wasn't back then, but now it is scalable. So if, if look at it this way, if you want anyone to invest their time or money with you, they must first trust you. They must first have some level of trust in you and in your abilities. That's because business is built on relationships. It's a proven fact. I mean, humans, human beings like to have— they have a deep-rooted need for human connection. It's a fact. And you find out that sustained success is impossible without being efficient. So you see, trust, relationship, and efficiency. Time is literally our most finite resource. And you can't create more time even if you wanted to. We only have 24 hours in a day. Hello. So all you can do basically is to learn how to maximize the way your time is spent. So what would be the problem actually nowadays that we find out that actually that until now, um, technology really has failed us as entrepreneurs, as marketers, as sales professionals? It's had this way of disguising ineffective and impersonal marketing tactics as being efficient just because it's automated. Not everything that is automated is efficient. Okay, so, um, but I mean, as business owners, as sales professionals, as marketers, as entrepreneurs, who cares about the latest and the greatest if it doesn't work? Or if the results produced are very, very weak. I'm sure we all agree with that point, right? So this is one topic I know that's very relevant to any business that needs more appointments, more leads, more prospects, more sales, uh, more leads in the pipeline, and more leads on the calendar, more appointments, sales presentation, and all that. So what I decided to do was I decided to help. And then so what I did was that I created a private business group both on Facebook and LinkedIn. Um, it's your choice, whatever platform appeals to you, um, to help you discover exactly what you need right now to quickly build trust with your best prospects, with your hot leads, the qualified ones. And, um, with that group in the near future, very, very near future, after you join it, you, you join for free, and then, um, after you join, there will later be a monthly subscription for the group, just charging you a very affordable amount for every marketing tactics— for basically for marketing tactics and sales and presentations and strategies that you need to grow your business. So for the next 60 days, when you sign up, you register at no cost. So you can check in the episode notes for the link to join. Okay, so we found out about the 3 important, um, words for marketing, uh, any business, which is trust, um, relationships, and efficiency. T-R-E, tree, however you want to call it, if you like to shorten it or if you like to say everything fully. So in basically, in just wrapping up all I have to say, I find out that with trust today, um, um, it's really at an all-time low. I mean, it's no wonder that so many businesses are finding that their marketing is not as effective as it should be. I mean, If people don't trust you enough, they won't do business with you because people don't buy from you if they don't know you, they don't like you, and they don't trust you. And we have to put a stop to that. That KOT factor has to be very, very, very visible in our business. Enough is enough. It's time for small businesses to finally get the leg up, finally be out there, be proactive, do what you got to do, develop a relationship with your prospects. and with your customers and just keep that engagement flowing. With this group, basically what I want you to have is that you would have at your fingertips proven and tested client attraction and sales system that's been set up the right way and not just hit the ground and fly away, that kind of thing, no. But with this system, you are able to get massive results. For months and months to come. And even though, yes, it might take a couple of hours to set up and all that, but you are sure of results. And, um, even if you have a small list or you have no list of customers, you can get started. And it will not just be me talking. I would be featuring different experts in different aspects of areas of marketing strategy that will help you on your journey as an entrepreneur, as a small business owner To get started. So look at the link in the episode section below the comment section, and then I will see you in the group. Yeah, that's it. I have finished. Oh, well, don't go anywhere really. I really do have something I need to share with you. I realized that online marketing is changing. Um, all the time and at a very high speed. And sometimes we struggle as entrepreneurs, as business owners, to keep up with it. And my goal mainly is to, is to make that very easy for you with different offers. And I mean, and especially with, with a group. And this, this is the biggest thing I mean I've attempted since we got locked down at home, everybody. So there's so much information in such a space, in such, in such, in such a short space of time that sometimes it's difficult to know what to focus on and take action. So I mean, let's face it, if you don't implement what we learn, the theories are just— they really are not worth much to us. I mean, we might take a lot of notes, but if you don't take action straight away with what you've learned, you'll practically basically build up a pile of to-dos that most likely you never have the time to get through each and every one of them. And it becomes so much that you don't even begin to try. And I mean, I mean, I know that's what happens to— with a lot of entrepreneurs. I've had my fair share. So it's really a slippery slope that leads to— I mean, this effect is a slippery slope that leads to you being out of touch with your current market. With your industry, and even with relevant tools that would help you stay relevant to your customers. So as entrepreneurs, we need to be able to resist the weight accumulating on us, the weights that are tied to us, the weights that are dragging us down. We need to be able to resist the chorus of voices, um, of that tell us no, the voices that tell us that we can't, that that's not how we do it, that we didn't budget for things like this, that we need to wait. Or that now is not a good time, or let's form a committee to study that. We need to resist that, those chorus of voices that— and all the— what these voices basically just do is they just grow, uh, up around a measure of success and they strangle it. What we need to do, we need to know how to stay hungry, stay thirsty. We need to learn how to be quick, be agile, be opportunistic. And how will you do that? By joining a group of like-minded entrepreneurs who are no longer lonely. Yeah, but they participate in an exchange of ideas through different marketing tactics, strategies, events, programs, offers, platforms, and all that. Because the fact is that it's your personality, it's, um, your storytelling, and your ability to set yourself and your products or services apart from the mundane and generic, um, pitch that every other professional or business owner that surrounds us does. So really, if you're sitting in front of your screen right now and you're feeling a little bit overwhelmed with your marketing, that it's not setting things on fire and all that, I, I want you to know that don't worry, just hang on, hold on, that a remedy is coming soon. Why don't you just join the Marketing Tactics for Entrepreneurs group on Facebook, on LinkedIn, get started. And that's it, Social Media Boss Lady, today on Marketing Tactics for Entrepreneurs. And I will see you again next week for another episode on marketing tactics. Don't forget to subscribe so that you get notified when the next episode is out.
