Hi there, this is Social Media Boss Lady, and I have to say it's been a while since I recorded an episode on this podcast. And I think last was February, and it's been a while. I actually took an unprecedented long break, but I'm back, back fully, and we definitely are gonna get things rolling. Things are gonna be moving, we're gonna enjoy ourselves, and, um, yay! Okay, so Um, today, um, I was like, okay, so what do I do? What do I do? What do I get started with? And, um, if you have been following my, um, channels either on YouTube or Instagram or Facebook or LinkedIn, I've been talking about content marketing, which I felt was the appropriate place to start with because the fact that we all dish out some form of content on a daily basis. And I realized that sometimes it's good to educate people on how to write better content that's targeted at their audience content so that they could get the desired outcome that they require or that they would need from the pieces of content that they are putting out. So, um, I'm going to talk to you about writing better content, how to address the baby elephant in the room, and also I'll give you tips on, um, the types of, uh, well, when you're writing social content, I'll give you quick tips that, uh, on social content that your viewers would love. Even Google would love those kind of content. Okay, so, um, if you're currently marketing your business online and you haven't really put, um, a great deal of thought into the content on your website, on your social platforms, you might really be making a costly mistake. Sad to say, but it's true, because the content on your site or your blog or your social channels is invaluable for a number of reasons. Now, first and foremost, that it gives your viewers, your fans, your audience, um, their first impression of your business and the products and services that you offer. Okay, additionally, um, well-written content can be instrumental in selling your products and services to your potential customers. If you listen to— if you go ahead to my YouTube channel and take a look at, um, how to launch your content marketing to grow and build your business, I talk a bit about um, the kind of content, how to actually create content that's targeted at your buying audience. Okay, and also the content on your site, um, can influence, um, the size of your target audience that you'll be able to reach, and it can also help you improve your search engine rankings. Okay, so don't worry, whatever new resources I'm going to be giving you, I'll put them in the episode notes below. Okay, all right, so with your content capable of doing so much, it's clear that you actually should be hiring a professional content writer to assist you in writing the copy for either your website or creating a social media content strategy for you and all that whenever you're marketing online. Okay, now I, I would delve a bit deeper into the importance of providing accurate, concise, and informative content on your website or on your social channels whenever you're marketing online. Now, one of the basic reasons— one of the most basic reasons why the quality of content that you put out is very important is because visitors to your pages, to your website, will likely form an opinion— well, first-time opinion— about who you are based on the content that they see. So if you're all about entertainment and that's what they see, that's what they will think about you. If you're all about business whatever you put out there forms a first impression about you, okay? And if your copy, if the content you put out there is poorly written, it doesn't hold their attention, it doesn't promote your products and services, well, your fans, your audiences are likely to leave your pages, whether it's social or your blog or whatever, or even your emails, without even making any purchase or inquiry or some form of engagement. Now, on the other hand, if the content is great, like it engages the reader and then it promotes the products and services that you offer, all well and good. I mean, because they're more likely to explore further, to learn more about what you offer, whether it's a product or a service, and eventually they may make a purchase. So basically, the content on your pages will be one of the first aspects that will be first noticed by your fans, your followers, visitors So it's important for it to be very, very exceptional. And I really break down for you, um, on my YouTube video, How to Launch Your Content Marketing, I really break it down for you, um, the what you need to look out for when you're writing content, how you should structure your content, and all that. So make sure you head over to my YouTube channel and take a good look at it and subscribe, definitely. Okay, so well-written copies are— let's, let's move a bit into those of us that like our sales reps and all that. Well-written sales copies also can be very persuasive, especially when we're trying to market to people through our sales pages, our landing pages, and all that. So when they are well-written, it could be very persuasive and even may compel the readers to whatever link you're sending them to, to purchase the product or service, or sign up for a training, or sign up for a webinar, or something that you're offering. So it's very important that if the main purpose, uh, so it's very important that your, your copies, your content must be very well written because if the main purpose of that content is to sell a product and service, it has to fulfill that outcome. Okay, and whatever you are writing about, whether it's a product or service or training, um, some valuable knowledge for your target audience, it should accurately describe what you're offering. So you need to— if let's say for instance you're, you are a beautician and you have some beauty products that you want to sell, maybe naturally made beauty products, so whatever sales copy you, you write, you, you put out about those products or services, you need to stress the importance of these products and services and compel your target audience or the targeted visitors to make a purchase. So you need to do all this without appearing to be deliberately advertising your product and service. So I'm reading the copy and I'm like, you know what, she's speaking to me, he's speaking to me. Okay, so where can I get this product? How can I subscribe to this service? So when you write this type of content, um, when you are— well, when you get started in writing types of content like this, it could be a bit quite complicated technically and would require maybe you need like a sales copywriter who is someone who's basically experienced and skilled at writing this type of informative and persuasive content because Definitely not everybody is born a copywriter, but it's a skill you learn. And then you need to know how to put persuasive sales copy that, um, if your target audience is reading this, they know you are speaking to them. So before you get into all this, you first need to know who are you writing to, and then you'll be, you'll be able to craft whatever copy you have or piece of content you have to suit that audience. So, um, if you are an amateur or an inexperienced writer, um, it's— there's a, there's a huge possibility that your copy or your content will not really be as effective as one being written by a professional that has a great experience in digital marketing. Because yes, copywriting is all part of digital marketing. So finally, basically, the copy on your website is very important. The copy on your social is very— copy is very, is very important, excuse me. And because it basically can influence your search engine rankings, because high search engine rankings help your business to reach a considerably larger audience. So the content on your site, on your social pages, is very important because online users like me, like you, like everyone out there that's looking for a product or service to buy or subscribe to, are typically looking for information quickly, and they want immediate results to, um, to whatever they're searching for. And these search engines supply the most relevant websites when users search by a particular keyword or phrase. So maybe your business probably is selling jerseys, football jerseys, and you may have like a well-designed website, you might have superior inventory or excellent prices, but if your website really doesn't rank well in the search engines, you're missing out a great deal of free advertising. Google does all that for you. So if your website, let's say, lands on like the 3rd page or lower than the 3rd page, most of the visitors who search for relevant items will not likely visit your website because they think— they will probably think that they have found what they're looking for maybe on the first 2 pages. But it was someone like me, I sometimes, if I need to go into in-depth research, I sometimes tend to get to the 5th and 6th page. But not everybody's like me. Really. So if you really want to rank for like, okay, the first 2 pages come up, then you need to work on your search engine rankings. I mean, I, I, I heard a joke once. I, I don't know how true it is, but I heard a joke once that, um, if you're trying to hide a dead body, that it's best to hide it on the 2nd or 3rd pages on Google because really people tend not to go beyond the first, the 2nd page or 3rd page. So at least some maybe extend to the 3rd page, but some maybe from the 2nd page, they're like, okay, after the 1st page, if I don't find what I'm looking for, maybe I'll change the keywords and stuff like that. So basically that's just on the side. But so like I was saying, so if your website lands on the 3rd page or lower or beyond the 3rd page, most of the visitors who are searching for relevant terms will likely not visit your site because they would feel that, okay, maybe the first 2 pages I found what I need, I don't need to go to the 3rd page. So this is basically where the content on your site, on your pages, become very important. Now, websites that contain content that have been optimized for, for particular keywords will likely rank very well with search engines. So what I would advise that you do is that you hire a writer skilled in writing optimized content to help improve your search engine rankings so that you could be able to reach more potential customers. But now, before you write content, you have to know who you're writing to. Remember, I stressed this at the beginning. I stressed it on the YouTube video on how to launch your content marketing to build your business, and I'm stressing it now. Before writing content, you have to know who you are writing to. What is your audience looking for? How do they speak to each other? What are the big issues in the industry? I'll go over that again. Now, before writing content, you have to know who you're writing to. What is your audience looking for? How do they speak to each other? What are the big issues in the industry? Because an effective website content is one of the most important aspects of a business. I mean, what I mean by that is that the content on your website is one of the most important assets that your business would ever have. So most readers basically don't have the time or the interest for that matter to struggle with web copy. So you have to make the process as easy as possible for them. Now, you make sure that whoever comes to your website or your social pages, they get the right information that they are looking for. And make sure that your readers can understand the who, the what, and the why of who you are and, and all that. So if you're struggling to, to write content or website content or social content, don't let it derail your business. Just get help. It can be your aunt, it could be your neighbor, it could be a skilled editor. Just hire someone so your initial investment doesn't sit on, um, someone's development server for months upon months. So, um, you could get a website designer or an SEO consultant who can also help you optimize the content that you put out there. Yes, optimize the content that you put out there, but it's best to get consultants that would ultimately work with you to produce the content, um, that would also even guide you in your website design, your development projects. But you would definitely have the keys to the kingdom. So what you need to do is basically you need to learn to address the elephant in the room and turn whatever procrastination that you have with your content— if you think you're not good at writing content turn that procrastination into leads, into prospects and revenue. So, um, last but not the least, I will just run you through quick tips on writing social content that your viewers and Google would love. So you might be in the process of creating awareness social— on social media for your business. You might need help crafting written content that conveys your message to visitors and helps you rank on Google. Now, writing perfect content for your audience can be difficult, especially if you're a small business. So what I'm going to share with you now is, um, social content writing tips telling you that you don't necessarily need to spend hundreds of dollars on writing social content, nor do you really need to outsource if you take the time to understand your target audience and do your research. You can outsource if you want to, if you don't want to do everything on your own, But these tips basically would help you write social content that your viewers and Google would love. So 1, clearly define your audience. You see, I'm stressing that again. Clearly define your audience. 2, observe your competition. 3, ask your audience. 4, know your keywords. 5, stay up to date with trends. 6, create new insights. So what am I saying in essence is that make sure that you are actively using social media to share your content. So even if, yes, you have it on your website, you could use social media as like amplifiers to put out the content that you are consistently creating. Writing social content basically is not only a way to express your opinions and insights, it's also a stepping stone to having something unique and target market specific to share online.
