Brands, stories, profits. Storytelling is powerful. Stories help with branding, that is, they make an impression that stands out and sticks out in our minds. And businesses are getting better at telling stories through content, whether it's through video or through text form. Stories that follow a brand's theme can be told over and over and over and over again. Now Nike doesn't sell shoes, it sells attitude. It's an example of a brand with a storytelling approach to marketing. Nike creates communities around their stories, stories of people struck down by cancer, and around, and its continuing theme, it just promotes attitude. Now a community of support for those struggling with the disease. Do you want proof? It's all over YouTube. Nike demonstrates how a good story goes social and how social media can be used to generate support and even raise funds. It's all the brand, that's the Nike name. Hi there, my name is Ruth, aka Ruthie Kush, and I'm gonna be talking today about the 7 components of a killer brand. Now, branding is the relationship you have with your audience in whatever aspect aspect of service that you are into. So today, it's all about branding you. Now there are 4 things you must always start off with when you're branding. 1, you create your brand. 2, you start your website. 3, you create your social profiles. And 4, you stay connected. Now, on the first component of a killer brand, 1, here we go, your business name and your tagline. Now, you need to make a crucial choice to be or not to be a personal brand or product brand. Now, a personal brand is someone like me, Ruth Kushi Wiju, and a product brand is something like Nike or Kush Online. Now, be known for the name of your business also. It's good. It's branding. Be different. Define your market or services from others. You need to focus on one really good target market. Now the second component is website address and profile usernames. Now for your social media accounts, first of all you need to find your domain name. Now verify that that name is available either on Facebook, on Twitter, on YouTube, or LinkedIn. And be consistent with that name in all your social media accounts. Now for your blog and your website, use WordPress. Just don't use a free website or blog for the long run. You need to get hosting also. You can use any hosting platform. I would recommend maybe HostGator, uh, one-on-one. To your site, add an About Me page, your services, your contact, display links to your social profiles. Write 2 to 3 killer posts that introduce your talk about your journey as a social media manager and what you do to help people. 3. You need to have consistent color choices. Now, your color, your style should be an expression of you. Pick colors that are attractive. Pick colors that you can live with. Find a matching WordPress theme that goes with your colors. 4. Put a voice in your written materials, your bio, the descriptions of your services, your status updates. 5. Create a photo of you. 6. Graphics for your logo, your website. In all this, set up your Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube profiles. Fill out each one completely, the bio, the website, the photo, and customize it with branded graphics. 7. Other marketing materials like your business cards. Start connecting with your contacts, find new ones, share your blog posts, interesting blog stories, blog news, or things you find funny, inspirational messages. Ask open-ended questions, comment or reply on others. Just be interesting. And interesting. Be helpful, not selling. Stick to what you know. Just be active, active, active. Never stop developing relationships. And as you're creating your brand, tell a story like the Nike story I told, like what you want to be when you grow up, or what you want to be when you grow up, your favorite movies, your actors, your singers, and why. As you're creating your brand related to popcorn, And my last message to you is that practice personal branding till you get it right. Practice personal branding till you never, ever get it wrong. And that's all for today, folks. My name is Ruth Kushiemeju, and I'll be seeing you again next week again on YouTube. Have fun, guys. Bye.
