Ruth Kusemiju says stop selling and start listening. Ask about their business, share expertise that helps them, give value with no strings attached. When you focus on their needs instead of your pitch, they trust you.

Hi, this is Social Media Boss Lydianne. It's a personal and business growth series, and today, well, what I have for you today is, well, it has to do with majorly all of us that are involved in marketing and selling and prospecting and all that have to do with clients and customers and prospects and leads, however. So, um, I think I'll just go right ahead and spit it out. Really, I just want to talk to you about how to earn your prospects or clients' trust simply by not selling them. Because the fact that you need to put this down in your head, write it down, however it is, but let it be a constant talk. Relationships are all about trust. If you want people to trust you, you have to keep them from thinking that you are all about just separating them from their money, because that's what the normal salesperson will try to do. So the best way to prime them in a sales conversation is to do what most salespeople would not do. Let's do the opposite of what most salespeople do, because what most salespeople do is that they talk about their company, they talk about their products, talk about their services, the features, the downline, the compensation plan, all this, all that. So you're now wondering, I'm sure, that so if you are saying that I shouldn't talk to my prospects about my company, my products, my services, then what else am I going to talk to them about? That's a very good question. It's quite easy. Just talk to them. If you know their business very well, I mean, give them some information that would help them in their business. If you don't know their business too well, find out, ask them about it. People love to talk about their businesses, they love to talk about themselves, and then they definitely have desires, they have needs that they'd like to meet. So you, in the course of the conversation, you can use your own expertise to share how they can meet these desires and needs. You're not selling them. And that way is basically you're just trying to give them, give them basically everything you can without actually asking for anything back. Most times the instincts would be that, hmm, there must be a catch somewhere. What's she trying to get out from me? Or what's he trying to get out from me? The fact is that in the course of this conversation, you need to remove that doubt from your prospects' or your customers' minds. Now that, in essence, you know that you need to earn their trust, you need to earn their trust before— without even trying to sell them, you now are beginning to understand how the human nature is and understand how it works the way it does. And so definitely in coming videos, I would take you further into, um, how to do strategic messaging that would turn cold prospects into warm leads, how to establish trust upfront, and then place yourself as a leader in whatever industry it is that you are in. And so that's it for today. Social media Ostede, personal and business growth strategies. Basically, earn your prospects or clients' trust simply by not selling them. Bye guys, and I'll see you on the next video. Take care.
