Ruth (who also calls herself "Ruthie Cush") outlines five practical ways to keep dreams alive: 1) be willing to bet on yourself, 2) lead your life rather than merely accept it (use the power of choice), 3) love what you do and do what you love, 4) do not compare yourself or your dream to others, and 5) believe in your vision even when others do not understand you. The talk emphasizes self-trust, owning your dreams, and defining success on your own terms, and ends with a friendly sign-off.

Hi, this is Ruth. Well, my friends call me Ruthie Cush. Well, you can call me that too. And I have a dream. Now, I could go the way of the words of the great Dr. Martin Luther King, "I have a dream that one day blah blah blah blah blah." But I realized that my dreams come in a size too big so that I could actually grow into them. And one thing about dreams is that dreams create an inspiring picture of the future, and this picture energizes your mind, your will, your emotion, and it also empowers you to do anything you can to achieve that dream. Hey, your dreams, they are worth pursuing, and it's a picture and a blueprint of your potential. Your purpose. So today I'm gonna be telling you 5 ways on how to keep your dreams alive. Are you ready? 1. Be willing to bet on yourself. Now, you may succeed if nobody else believes in you, but you will never ever succeed if you do not believe in yourself. My mom always says, "A healthy self-worth creates a wealthy net worth." 2. Lead your life instead of just accepting your life. One thing every human being on the face of this earth should realize is that the greatest power that they possess is the power of choice. 3. You gotta love what you do and you have to do what you love. Follow your passion, follow your heart. 4. Do not, and I repeat, do not compare yourself or your dream to others. Now, success— what is success? Success is doing the best you can with what you have, well, whenever you start life. And never, never let others set the standards for you. Look, it's the same way as saying you would never like to live someone else's dream. Good. And always remember that comparing yourself to others does not benefit you, and neither, neither does it ever get you closer to living your dream. 5. Believe in your vision for the future even when others do not understand you. Early on in life, I learned that self-trust is actually the first secret to success, and that the belief that if I, Ruthie, am here, that is, the maker of the universe put me here and for a cause or some task strictly appointed to me, and as long as I am working at that, I am well and successful. Now the next thing I'm gonna say, I'm pretty sure each and every one of you can relate to it. Now if success is not on your own terms, even if it does look good to the world, but it doesn't feel that good in your soul, not even a fraction, it's not success at all. So what are our 5 ways again of keeping our dreams alive? We must be willing to bet on ourselves. We should lead our lives instead of just accepting them. We should love what we do, yay, and do what we love. Then do not compare yourself or your dream to others. And lastly, believe in your vision for the future even when others don't understand you. And I think out of everything, you should take this with you each and every day. Your dreams are only possible only if you own them. I'll see you next time. Have fun, guys. Bye!
