Ruth Kusemiju shows how to turn one video into multiple assets: blog posts, PDFs, infographics, and podcasts. Embed it on your site with a blog post for cross-traffic, convert the script into a downloadable guide to capture emails, and publish on YouTube or IGTV so Google indexes it.

Hi guys, this is Social Media Boss Lady and welcome to another week of exciting content. Yay! So, um, my goal in essence with this training is to give people, businesses, whatever you are, big or small, training in digital marketing. And I started that last week and I spoke about how to launch your content marketing to grow and scale your business. And so I decided to continue this week with how to reuse your content. I'll give you the various steps on how you can reuse your content. So basically, my recycling content process will help you drive a lot of traffic from your videos, like this video that I'm doing. Because the thing is that there are many tools available these days, and video definitely has become one of the hot topics. I try to simplify everything that I teach into smaller problems that can be managed one at a time. Okay, so now a lot of people think that video is really, really complicated. I mean, I wasn't this, um, good at doing videos. Like, I was like camera shy. Like, I couldn't just stay in front of a camera and like do face to face to camera and all that. But the fact is that you tackle one problem, one obstacle at a time, and then you get better and keep on doing it, keep on doing it until you get good at it. Try to be a little bit funny, not to be too serious. Bring the exciting part of you in and, um, You're good to go. Okay, so a lot of people think that video is really complicated, but actually that is not true. So when you take time to do it right, you can actually get a lot of mileage out of the content that you produce. Okay, now let's say it takes you, let's say, 4 hours, I mean, to shoot a high-quality video. You edit it and then you upload it. Okay, now at that point, probably you need You're probably burnt out and you maybe you need to take a break. Now what if after all that 4-hour work, your video is not even being viewed at all when you put it up on YouTube? That's like really, really hurts. That really hurts because after all the work you put in upfront and then bam, nothing ever happens and you're like, what? So, um, I came across a strategy that would allow me to create a boatload of content from each and every single video that I produce. Okay. So, um, it allows me to break up my video into bite-sized pieces and then integrate them into other kinds of content that I am working on. So most of the time you are presenting content to different, um, audience segments. And it's going to be the first time they get a chance to see it. So video works great for repurposing because it's based on a script really, and it's easy to identify at which points to create a segment that you can then repurpose and all. So video also like breaks down, breaks, breaks, breaks back down into its components. You can break video into text, you can break the video into audio, images too, which can be used to get the same content across all other social channels and mediums. I mean, there's Facebook, there's Instagram, there's Twitter. So you can take your video, make it into a blog post. You can take your video, create it into an image with text. You can take that same video and create into a podcast. So let's say, for example, you create a 5-minute video, right? And it's completely finished, and then you post it up on YouTube or any video sites that you use. I mean, there's Vimeo, there are others, right? There's IGTV. Now, um, by doing that, you're tapping into— let's say you put it up on YouTube. Now, by doing that, you're tapping into an audience that's already built into the YouTube channel, right? As well as additional viewers who will find it as a recommended video based on the search terms that they use. So perhaps people are searching for a particular keyword that you are listed for, whatever keyword that it is that defines your business or the services that you offer. They will find your video through that. After you post the video on YouTube, it will be indexed on Google as well. So what else can you do to get this particular content that you have created out there. Now, one thing, one easy thing that you can do is to create a corresponding blog post, right, to go along with the video. Now, if you already have an audience on your website, okay, you're exposing them to new video content. And if you have an audience also already on your YouTube, you're exposing expose them to the content on your blog. So it's cross-traffic. Okay. Another technique you can use is to create action guides. Now basically these are like PDFs that provide a step-by-step checklist to accomplish a task. Okay. So this action guides, um, could simply be the content of the video, but in a written out format. So attach your action guide to another piece of content that would allow people to download it as PDF. So you see, I've taken that one video, created a blog post, and then from the blog post I created an action guide that would allow people to download. Now this way, anybody can take the content on a variety of platforms when it's convenient for them. Can watch it as a video, read it as a blog post, download it as an action guide. Still the same content, just in different formats. So basically that works like a lead magnet, right? We all know that for your site, like an opt-in. You opt in to download this resource, and there are a lot of options. So you could basically give this a try. This is just basically, um, in a few short steps how to reuse your content. So it's basically like a content recycling process that allows you to drive more traffic to your website. So I'll drill down for you into 4 action steps that you can take right now to learn how to reuse your content or basically recycle your content to be able to drive traffic to your site. So one, push your video online, right? Push your video online to platforms like Vimeo, like YouTube and Google. Yeah. Then additionally post your video to your website with the corresponding blog post. Okay. 3, turn your video content into an infographic. Content into a PDF action guide that can be downloaded from your website. That's the lead magnet. And then 4, which is last but not the least, um, package your video content as part of a lead magnet on your site for them to opt in. Okay, and basically the results you would get would be more mileage out of your video content by repurposing into blogs, PDFs, and lead magnets. So basically that's it for today.
