This is Social Media Boss Lady with you on another episode on marketing tactics for entrepreneurs. And so the thought for today is that, uh, well, just a little statement actually. It says that french fries are actually Belgian. Did you know that? I mean, oftentimes— I mean, one lesson I think I can learn from that is that oftentimes success actually lies in the branding. So being in this space, I hear a lot of business pitches. I mean, most are great ideas, but too many are described poorly. Why do I say that? This is because their core value message, which I like to abbreviate to CVM, um, just isn't clear enough. And sometimes when you're going through hundreds of emails every day, it's It's, it's got to be a clear, concise pitch to make me stop in my tracks and to keep on reading. So that's the same approach actually you need to have with your marketing. You've got a very, very short time to capture someone's interest, a client's interest, a prospect's interest, and people need to know in a second what your core value message is so that they can know whether it's something they need or they should just keep on scrolling. Scroll button just keeps on going through. I mean, my message is marketing tactics for entrepreneurs. Why? Because I think there's too much marketing advice out there, fluff from people who have no proof of the success of what they are teaching. I mean, entrepreneurs are busy. I can say that. I'm an entrepreneur and I'm busy. And we should only spend time on tactics that are proven to work in real life businesses. I mean, as soon as someone, someone lands on my website, the core value message is what they see. And if it's not for them, they keep going. I mean, the ones that stay definitely are the people I want as my customers. The other ones are better served elsewhere. Okay, so my question to you as you listen to this episode is that, is your is your core value message helping you? Take a moment to answer that question, and I will see you shortly after the break. So right now, talking to you about creating a core value message to improve your marketing. Now you definitely need to up your game with your core value message. Definitely. So, um, having a powerful message actually can supercharge your marketing, you can supercharge your business marketing and really bring you to the next level. Now the question is though, that, um, how do you craft a message that really stands out in your market? So what I do definitely is that I work, I work with clients, um, to create this type of messages, which you have, you've been, you've, well, you've heard me a couple of times call it the core value messaging. Yeah, core value message. So basically, um, core value messages are similar in concept really to value propositions or what you call USPs. Yes, but everyone has their own ideas of what that means these days, so I wanted to differentiate my ideas a little bit from the pack. Okay, so when I talk about a CVM or a core value message, I'm talking about something very specific, right? Now, when most businesses talk about their value proposition, it's usually only used in their internal messaging. They typically have one core idea and that, that they build the business around, okay? But with a CVM or a core value message, you act— you're actually creating a message that is built off, um, three sub-ideas that come together to have the biggest impact on your target customers' buying decisions. Okay, so think of it this way. Let me make it easy for you. Think of it this way, uh, think of it as putting, um, your best foot forward value-wise in order to, um, win over your customers from any competition. Claire, so think of it— I'll say it again— think of it, think of your CVM, your core value message, as putting your best foot forward value-wise in order to win over your customers from any competition. So getting clear, um, on your core value message helps you figure out what you need to communicate with your marketing so that you can focus— so that you can then focus on how you go about communicating it. Let me repeat that again just in case you missed it. Getting clear on your core value message helps you figure out what you need to communicate with your marketing so you can then focus on how you go about communicating it. Okay, so I want to discuss, um, some aspects, um, of, um, how I go through the core value messaging process that— so that you can apply it to to your business right away. But I will do that process shortly after this break, okay? So I'll see you after. Stay tuned, don't go anywhere. And now we have some exciting news to share with you. Yes! Exciting news. Our podcast Marketing Tactics for Entrepreneurs is now available on Spotify. We're available on Apple Podcasts, we're available on Google Podcasts, we're available on Radio Public, Podcast— Podcastcast, and Breaker. So we're letting you know so that you can share on Facebook, share on Twitter, share on Instagram, share on LinkedIn. You can always find the links to our podcast available in the episode notes. And so we're going back to Your core value message. Okay, so we've gone through what, um, your core value message is, and we were to go into, um, the aspects of the process that you can apply to your business right away. Okay, so basically, as you just— what you need to do is in just 3 simple steps. One, consider your target audience whenever you're listing out the benefits that your business has to offer and pick the top 3 benefits that will be relevant to these target customers as a group. Okay, 2, list out your competitors who are within your category as well as the alternative solutions in your category. So basically what I'm saying here is that write out what makes you better than your competition. And then 3, combine your benefits and the differentiators in a few sentences that are most appealing to your market. Bonus points, really, I said 3 steps, but a bonus, a bonus point would be that, so if you have team members that you work with, bring your team members into the process and get their feedback and let them drill you on your answers. That way you'll know if your CVM sticks or not that if it's said to your target customers or your target clients, that they will understand what you're about and will see why they would work with you than as against your competition. So basically, the result you're trying to get out of this process is a core value message that would crystallize your marketing messages. In other words, you'll be a lot closer to knowing what to say with your marketing so it makes people want to buy your products, it makes people want to buy your services. So that's it. Simple, right? 3 steps. Well, let's say 4 steps. I give you a bonus point, so let's just say 4 steps. Okay, so if you want to brainstorm and, um, on how to crystallize your core value message, let's do it together. Just, um, share with me what you have here in the episode notes. You can comment below, you can reach out to me on Instagram or Facebook, on LinkedIn, any of the social channels, Social Media Boss Lady, or you could join, uh, my Facebook group or my LinkedIn group, and then let's see how to get started with your CVN. And this is Ruth Kusemiju, aka Social Media Boss Lady, signing out on the 4th episode on marketing tactics for entrepreneurs. And I'll see you guys next time on another episode. Take care. So online marketing is changing all the time and at a high speed. So I want to ask you, do you struggle to keep up with it all? My goal is actually to make that easier for you with my marketing tactics for entrepreneurs, and it's the biggest thing I have attempted since I got locked down at home. I mean, there's so much information in such a short space of time that it's difficult to know what to focus on and what to take action. So let's face it, I mean, without implementation, learning theories isn't worth much. You might take a lot of notes, but if you don't take action straight away, they quickly pile up, they build up, and pile up into a list of to-dos which you likely would never have time to get through. I've been there. So it becomes so much that you might not even think to begin to try. And this is what happens to a lot of entrepreneurs. I'm an entrepreneur, so I know how you feel. So it's a slippery slope that leads to being out of touch with your current market and the tools to stay relevant to your customers. I mean, I get a lot of questions about how I keep up to date. Update with digital marketing enough to get results. The thing is that I don't have time actually to read up on the tactics and strategies in the digital marketing industry. It would pretty take up much of my day. So instead, I learn a little bit every single day because actually consistency has been the key to a steady learning curve and action taking. And I want to encourage you to do the same. I mean, the past couple of months I've worked together with my team members on, um, how to help you to do this, and here's how it works. She just give me 5 minutes of your morning, right? Discover— well, let's say more than 5 minutes actually. Yes. So discover the number one marketing tactic of a proven expert, follow the step-by-step instructions, and steadily grow your business every single day. Now, if you're sitting in front of your screen, either your mobile phone or your laptop or your desktop or whatever, and you're feeling a little bit overwhelmed with your marketing that it's not setting things on fire, I just want you to know that a remedy has come. I'm Ruth Kusemiju, aka Social Media Boss Lady, founder at Marketing Tactics for Entrepreneurs, and I'm going to share with you more about what the Marketing Tactics for Entrepreneurs group is and how you can get free access. That's if you want to get in. Okay, so basically, the entrepreneur has to resist the weights accumulating on him or her tied to her, tied to you, dragging you backwards. You need to resist the chorus of voices of no, that you can't, that that's not how we do it, that we didn't budget for that, that we need to wait, and that's not a good time, or let's form a committee to study it, etc. And then we form a committee to study it and then grow it around the measure of success, and then we strangle it. As entrepreneurs, we have to stay hungry, we have to stay thirsty, we have to be We have to be quick, we have to be agile, we have to be opportunistic. And you're about to join a group of like-minded entrepreneurs who are no longer lonely but participate in an exchange of ideas through different marketing tactics, events, programs, platforms, etc. Basically, it's your personality, your storytelling, and your ability to set yourself and your products apart from the mundane and generic things that surrounds. Join my Marketing Tactics for Entrepreneurs Facebook group or LinkedIn group. You'll find the links to the groups in the showcase notes below, and I hope to see you guys very, very soon. Take care and have a wonderful day, and I'll see you on the next episode of Marketing Tactics for Entrepreneurs.
