In this instructional tip video, Ruth Kusemiju (the "Social Media Boss Lady") explains how any business—whether online or offline—can generate qualified leads using social media. She begins by defining a lead as an inbound prospect interested in a product or service and highlights the common failure to move leads through the full sales funnel. Kusemiju proposes a practical, repeatable process: become an information hub for the target industry by distilling white‑papers and other dense content into short, 60‑second videos; host this content on a website or landing page; drive traffic with social‑media ads; capture contact details through newsletters and free webinars; nurture the audience with ongoing engagement; and finally, build personal relationships that turn leads into loyal customers and brand advocates. The video emphasizes the importance of moving beyond mere awareness to active engagement and long‑term loyalty, and it ends with a call for viewers to comment with questions.

Hi, it's me again, Social Media Boss Lady, and welcome to another tip video. Well, I'm talking to you from my makeshift office. I've been here for the past couple of 2 to 3 months and it's been an enlightening experience. Experience. I'm learning not to complain but to be grateful. And, um, yes, staying home, staying safe, and trying to be productive and giving value every time. Okay, so today's video is about how to generate leads with social media. Now, um, there are a lot of companies out there today that are selling their products online through e-commerce sites, and it's working successfully for them. I mean, selling through sites like Amazon, Jumia, the local ones like Konga and all that, Jiji and all that, eBay and everything. Um, and it's working successfully for them, which is good. And sometimes there are some of us that think that, um, so what if I do not sell products online? What if I'm into car dealership? What if I'm into retail or real estate or whatever? Hello, COVID-19, wake up! Every business that is offline is now struggling for real estate online, struggling for property online. So whatever business that you're in, as long as you are interested in generating leads, you need people to buy your products or service, this video concerns you whether you like it or not. So who is a lead, or what is a lead? Now basically, a lead is an inbound prospect that is interested in your product or service, or your competitor's product or service. And then you capture this lead and then nurture them through a sales funnel, and then till they become a client or a customer. And then when that is done, it's becomes revenue for your business. But the challenge with that is that most people don't actually go all the way. They don't go to the final step, the final mile. Now, a lot of them use social media, yes, to create awareness, to generate demand for their product or service, but they don't take it to the final step whereby they take these leads that they've gotten and make them profitable, make them viable. Now, um, so let's say for instance, uh, right now what I want to do is basically run you through or give you one of the very easy ways that you can use social media to generate leads for your business, which in turn would give you customers, which is like revenue for your business. Okay, so let's say, um, your target market is a certain industry. Right? I'm going to show you how you can use, um, social media to generate leads from that industry. So one of the easiest ways to do it is become an information station for the people in your target market. So I'll give you an example. So let's say you are trying to target the real estate industry or retail industry or tourism. Whichever the big industries, and you're trying to target the directors or the CEOs or the VPs that exist in these companies. Now, um, this is— just walk with me through the process, okay? Now, if you could get into the minds of these directors, of these CEOs, you know that they are constantly thinking of how to stay abreast of trends going on in their industry, all the tips, tools, strategies, growth tactics, different things in their industry. And sometimes these directors, this, this, this, this, well, prospective clients that you want to— you want them to become final clients, they are downloading white papers, they are reading books and all that. But sometimes Yes, they download these white papers, but they don't fully consume them. Maybe they just go through a couple of pages and then that's it, they can't read anymore. So what if you decided to become an information hub, right, for people in your target markets? So you take every information that they are trying to consume on a regular basis and you bring out the salient points, the important information in this white paper, from this white paper, and distill it into, let's say, a 60-second video that just highlights the main important points that they need and give it to them. You know what you're doing? You're actually, yes, becoming a hub for go-to information, but also at the same time you are introducing your brand to your target audience. To the people you want to prospect to, the people that you want to sell to. Now, um, how do you go about it? So let's say, for instance, you create this content and then it's resident on your website or something. You attract them to your websites, to that content, running ads, right? And then from there, you capture their details. And then they join your newsletter, and then in the course of the, of, um, engaging with them, you make them participate in a free webinar or an event that's organized by your brand. And certainly you are becoming top of mind to them. Till the fact that, yes, it's subtle, but for the long term they become an engaged and loyal fan base, and eventually you convert some of them into customers. So basically, it's as simple as that. So not just only create awareness on social media for your product, create demand, and then let it lie fallow, but take these people, yes, and have engagement— engage with them, network with them, um, talk to them, get to know them beyond the credit card, get to know them beyond the debit card, get to know them beyond, yes, you bought my product or you bought this, you subscribe for this service and that's it. Get to know them on a personal level and they become what? Promoters and advocates for your brand and your business. So basically that's just an easy way for you to generate leads on social media till they become promoters of your brand. Become very loyal. So that's it for today, Social Media Boss Lady, on generating leads on social media.
