Personal & Business Growth: Is Your Marketing Message Bringing In Clients?

In this episode of Marketing Tactics for Entrepreneurs, Ruth Kusemiju (Social Media Boss Lady) emphasizes the critical role of a clear, compelling marketing message in attracting ideal clients. She explains that a marketing message consists of both written materials and spoken communication, and its purpose is to elicit an immediate, enthusiastic response from prospects. Ruth identifies telltale signs of an unclear message—glazed‑over eyes, lack of enthusiasm, and confusion—and argues that entrepreneurs must invest time (often with a coach) to sharpen their message around three core mechanisms: self‑recognition, self‑selection, and pre‑qualification. She stresses the need to define an Ideal Client Profile in detail, including their pains, challenges, and desired outcomes, so the message can draw the right audience and cause them to pre‑qualify themselves. Ruth then offers a free “marketing message” call for listeners who need feedback, and promotes her Marketing Tactics for Entrepreneurs community (Facebook/LinkedIn groups) as a place for daily learning and peer support. She acknowledges the overwhelm many entrepreneurs feel trying to keep up with fast‑changing digital marketing, recommending a consistent, bite‑size learning habit. Finally, she introduces the Business Growth Launchpad free trial, highlighting four training modules (ultimate marketing & sales system, a $0‑to‑42‑client case study, ideal‑client identification, and strategic business thinking) and promises actionable content such as the “7 types of content that go viral on Instagram.” The episode closes with multiple calls to action to schedule the free call, join the community, and start the free trial.

Hi there and welcome to another episode of Marketing Tactics for Entrepreneurs. This is Social Media Boss Lady with you on another episode. I know October is winding down and definitely we are not going to let you go through the month of October without another episode on Marketing Tactics for Entrepreneurs. Okay, so normally I'd start with either a thought of the day or a quote that inspired me and let you know the lesson I learned from it. But today I'm just gonna jump right into it. Okay, so I want to start this out by asking you a question. As an entrepreneur, as a business professional, as a salesperson, as a business owner, as whatever it is that you are, is your marketing message bringing in clients? What you tell people, what you sell to people, what you sell to prospects, is it bringing them in? Is it roping them in? Because I can't stress enough the importance of your marketing message. So I'm just going to jump right into it. Now, your marketing message is twofold. One, what your prospects read about in terms of what you do in your written marketing materials, whether online or offline. And then also the second part is what you say to others about yourself when you speak, whether you're networking or you are doing a live speech or something. Yeah. So whether reading your marketing materials or hearing what you're saying, you want your viewers to be ready. You want them to be willing and able to take the next step as a client, and that means working with you, right? Good. So the reaction to your messages you want from your audience is, oh my goodness, oh my God, where have you been all my life? That's exactly what you need. Like, she's reading my mind. Like, can I get your card? Like, or how can I work with you? You want that kind of motivated response because they are ready, they are piping hot. Like my cousin used to say, they are hot and spicy. Okay, now the thing is that if you, if you're having problems selling your services, then It might not be that— well, not that it might not be— well, it— the fact is that you do not have a clear marketing message. It's as simple as that. There are some, um, telltale signs, or should I say telltale signs, um, when your marketing message is very unclear. I'll tell you. One is that people's— if you watch people's expression, sometimes their eyes tend to glaze over or roll to the back of their head whenever you tell them what you do, or you don't even really get enthusiastic response when you're talking about what you do. When you don't— when you see that, then that there is a problem. And the fact is that getting crystal clear in your message is an area that you'd want to spend a lot of time in as a person, as a business person, or with an expert, a business coach, right? Because you would want to create not just any sort of marketing message, but you want to create a compelling marketing message. Now, this is when actually you drill down, you drill it down, and then you get deeper, you go deeper to getting really— it's becoming really clear on your marketing message, really clear on the value and the benefits, and most importantly, becoming really clear on the solutions you provide for your clients. I know definitely I'm guessing some— aha! Oh wow, really? That's good. Yes, so clear. You need to be so clear that when your viewers or your listeners relate to what's being said, it actually compels them— not to compel, it's like to draw them— it actually draws your ideal clients to wanting to know more and actually wanting to work with you. So if your audience is reading or hearing your marketing message and they don't get it like they don't even understand that you're actually speaking to them, then again, know that there is a problem. Okay, so you failing to communicate often comes because, uh, your marketing message is confused— confusing, or it's garbage. No, I'm not garbage, but it's like, it's like gobbled up, like it's like just, um, like it's like, it's just errant nonsense. Yes, that it's not clearly focused, or you, you may have too much, too, too many messages that are competing with each other. Okay, so what I try to teach, uh, students, my clients, and all that is that spend— not just only clients, even prospects too— spend a lot of time on defining who your ideal client is. In detail. Have your ideal customer profile, yeah. Get clear about their issues, know their challenges and their problems, the problems that are keeping them up late at night, and the solutions that you are going to provide. Okay, now when your marketing message, um, your— when your marketing messages basically are in line, there are 3 things that actually come to play. One is self-recognition, 2, self-selection, and 3, pre-qualification. I'll say that again: when your marketing messages are in line, 3 things come to play: self-recognition, self-selection, and pre-qualification. Now, as a result of them self-recognizing and self-selecting, they are actually pre-qualifying themselves, meaning that they are actually at a point of not just being interested because they see this is exactly what they need, they're actually saying something like 'Oh my God, you are describing me. Like, this is exactly what I did. This is the problem I've been going through. How can I take this further?' And then they are so ready to work with you. So basically, that's, that's really what I have for you today. Like, like, um, it was just that question so that— I mean, we are already, um, going into November and December, and definitely you, you want to rearrange your thoughts, rearrange your messages to be able to reach your ideal clients for the next 2 months to end 2020 and into the new year 2021. So basically, if you are not sure, uh, or if you're unsure about your marketing messages, or definitely you would like, um, a fresh set of eyes to review your message, definitely I, I'd like you to schedule a free marketing message call with me. I mean if you have a compelling marketing message, you can share it in the comments below. You can reach out to me on Instagram, on LinkedIn, Facebook, however. So the fact is that believe in yourself, believe in your message, and keep moving forward and sharing your gifts, because the fact is that the whole world needs you. Okay, take care guys and have a lovely day. Bye! So online marketing is changing all the time and at a high speed. So I want to ask you, do you struggle to keep up with it all? My goal is actually to make that easier for you with my marketing tactics for entrepreneurs, and it's the biggest thing I have attempted since I got locked down at home. I mean, there's so much information in such a short space of time that it's difficult to know what to focus on and what to take action on. So let's face it, without implementation, learning theories isn't worth much. You might take a lot of notes, but if you don't take action straight away, they quickly pile up, build up, and pile up into a list of to-dos which you likely would never have time to get through. I've been there. It becomes so much that you might not even think to begin to try. And this is what happens to a lot of entrepreneurs. I'm an entrepreneur, so I know how you feel. It's a slippery slope that leads to being out of touch with your current market and the tools to stay relevant to your customers. I mean, I get a lot of questions about how I keep up to date with digital marketing enough to get results. The thing is that I don't have time to read up on the tactics and strategies in the digital marketing industry. It would pretty much take up much of my day. So instead, I learn a little bit every single day because actually consistency has been the key to a steady learning curve and action taking. And I want to encourage you to do the same. I mean, the past couple of months I've worked together with my team members on how to help you to do this. And here's how it works. So just give me 5 minutes of your morning, right? Discover— let's say more than 5 minutes, actually. Yes. So discover the number one marketing tactic of a proven expert. Follow the step-by-step instructions and steadily grow your business every single day. Now, if you're sitting in front of your screen, either your mobile phone or your laptop or your desktop or whatever, and you're feeling a little bit overwhelmed with your marketing, that it's not setting things on fire, I just want you to know that a remedy has come. I'm Ruth Kusiamiju, aka Social Media Boss Lady, founder at Marketing Tactics for Entrepreneurs, and I'm going to share with you more about what the Marketing Tactics for Entrepreneurs group is and how you can get free access. That's if you want to get in. Okay, so basically the entrepreneur has to resist the weights accumulating on him or her, tied to her, tied to you, dragging you backwards. You need to resist the chorus of voices of no, that you can't, that that's not how we do it, that we didn't budget for that, that we need to wait, that that's not a good time, or let's form a committee to study it, etc. And then, um, we form a committee to study it and then grow it around the measure of success and then we strangle it. As entrepreneurs, we have to stay hungry, we have to stay thirsty, we have to be quick, we have to be agile, we have to be opportunistic. And you're about to join a group of like-minded entrepreneurs who are no longer lonely but participate in an exchange of ideas through different marketing tactics, events, programs, platforms, etc. Basically, it's your personality, your storytelling, and your ability to set yourself and your products apart from the mundane and generic things that surrounds.
