Hi, this is Social Media Boss Lady, and today is Tim Tip Tuesday— well, Tip Tuesday, and I'm gonna be talking to you about marketing tips and ideas that as a small business or as a medium-sized business that you can use to make more sales than ever before in your various businesses. So basically, these tips and ideas can help anyone achieve better sales results, so you have to take time to study and implement these ideas in your business. So I'm going to be going over my notes with you because I have this all scribbled down for you. So I'm going to be going over my notes, um, with you on this video. Okay, so the first tip that I have for you today is that use content marketing to achieve massively to boost your sales. Now content marketing actually really works. In fact, so long as that the information that you're providing to your readers, it's genuinely useful, it can work extremely well for you. So how content marketing works is that you create a website. Yes, you create a website, a blog, a vlog— that's a video blog— or a newsletter or a podcast. And then you use these different mediums to provide free information that has real value to your prospective clients. Okay, and at the same time, while you're providing free valuable information, you are also offering them the opportunity to purchase your products, your services, or both, which is closely linked to the information that you are giving away. So that's tip number 1. Tip number 2 would be use email marketing to grow your business. Okay, all right, so, um, I'm going to say that email marketing is extremely cost-effective and one of the most powerful marketing tools available to small and medium-sized businesses. This is because it provides predictable results and costs little or nothing to use. Yes, so unlike Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other social networks, you're not just only building your network, but you own it. So, um, yes, you— what I'd advise you do with email marketing is that you build your database of subscribers, of customers, people that use your products. And then you find out that you can use this to constantly market to them different products or offerings or services that you have. So that's tip number 2, using email marketing. Now tip number 3 is that you need to build a super valuable network of business contacts. Now one of the biggest myths in business is that you must have a large network if you want to seed. In fact, you might just need only 5 to 10 people to begin with. So the reality is that the size of your network is not really what's important. What's really important is the influence of the people within the network. So if your network is about 1,000 people, but if they all lack influence, then it's, um, the commercial value to your business is as good as zero. But let's say your network is just 10 people, but they are all motivated and have real influence, then I would say that it has massive commercial value to you and your business. So sometimes I tend to advise people that stop wasting your time swapping business cards at networking events because sometimes people that attend these events are— they're there to sell, they're not there to buy from you. So you, you need to discover a way to get connected to the right people and then deliberately target them and bring them into your network. Okay, so that's tip number 3. So tip number 4 is that turn your website into a customer attraction machine. Now, most small businesses are unaware that their website is capable of being a 24/7 lead generating or sales machine. Now, the fact is that your website can actually generate high quality leads, high quality phone calls and sales from interested prospective clients as long as you do it right. So if, even if your website, when your website rather, when your website is professionally designed and marketed. It's like you're having a store in the heart of Lekki or in the heart of Victoria Island. And most small businesses right now, their websites are just like stores that are in the middle of nowhere. They are outdated, they are poorly marketed, and they could actually be much, much more valuable to the business owner. So I suggest that you invest in a professional-looking website or blog, and then figure out ways to target your visitors that come to your site and create a follow-up sequence of these visitors till they subscribe to any of your products or to your services. Okay, so I move down to tip number 5: match your prices to your promises. Now, there's a common mistake that allows most businesses well, small and medium size basically, lose fortunes. So most times their marketing is promising a high quality service, but they are charging a low price fee or a low fee. And by doing this, you're actually sending mixed messages to your prospective clients, and sometimes you can lose business that way because everybody actually knows that quality doesn't come cheap. And we've been trained basically from childhood to believe that if something looks too good to be true, it is good to be true. So when you promise people a high-quality service for a low price or fee, it creates doubts in their mind. So the last thing you want to do is that kind of— get that kind of reaction from your prospective clients. So make your services as valuable to the marketplace as possible and then charge accordingly. If you do, your prices will match your promises. And then you would have made it easier for future clients to trust your marketing message. Okay, good. All right, so marketing tip 6: use attraction marketing. Attraction marketing is also what we call inbound marketing. And, um, so in this case here, there are different, um, modes, or should I say platforms, that you could use for this. You could use, um, your website through your content. You could use your social, your social platforms, because the fact is that, um, um, whatever marketing, whatever attraction principle that you're using, or platform or medium that you're using, follow through with it. And so, um, it could be— you could, you could even be running ads. You could be running ads to attract, um, potential or prospective to a webpage, to a sales page, to an offer, to a lead magnet, to a freebie or a paid product. So tip 7, it would be research, research your competition for better marketing results. Because the fact that you need to get up here, that it is impossible to effectively sell or market your services unless you have researched researched your competition. You need to know what offers, what guarantees, what prices, what fees you're up against in order for you to make what you're offering the most attractive to prospective clients, okay? Because the fact is that when you know what you are up against, then you would be able to beat it by adding massive value, okay? All right, and, um, tip 8— we're almost done, all right? We have 10 tips here. Tip 8 is, um, use joint ventures. Now, joint ventures, which sometimes you might hear those of us in the digital marketing space say JVs, is where— this is basically where you and another business or person get together, usually to cross-market your services or your products. Now, the key to a JV success is that you need to find someone that's credible, that offers a non-conflictual conflicting product or service to the exact profile of person or business that you do. So let's say, for instance, you as a business owner, you're selling recruitment services to the hospitality industry, and they sell, sell, um, employee benefits packages too. And then probably who you want to JV with are selling employee benefits to industry. That's a fit. Or let's say you are— okay, you are health, you are health, you are health and wellness business, and then you are doing a JV with another business owner that does— that sells probably fruit blenders to people that want to make fruit juices. You find a way to do a JV with them because it's really non-conflicting. What you're there is to offer health services, and then you have people that sell products to people to the same market that— I mean, after they've gotten the health services, they need this. Okay, so that's tip 8. Tip 9 is that use endorsed relationships. Now, an endorsed relationship, basically it's similar to a joint venture or JV, but there's a difference. So the person you actually do the venture with actually gives you their professional or personal endorsements. This is, this is like gold for you. It's powerful. Because if they're endorsing you to their list, it means that they trust you, they trust the service that you are providing, and they are willing to recommend this to their database. I mean, except especially if it is someone that is widely recognized, this really adds credibility to you. So when you get endorsements from well-renowned marketers or marketing firms or individuals. It adds instant credibility for you. And then the last but not the least is that understand how shortcuts to success works. Now the fact is that the internet is packed with people selling the idea that you can automate your way to success. They would pro— offer products, offer programs, offer webinars, offer seminars and services which promises shortcuts to success. The fact is that, well, one thing you need to remember is that when people offer you shortcuts to success, realize that one, they are so— they are hardly shortcuts, and two, they really never lead to success. Rome wasn't built in a day, right? If Rome was built in a day— but the fact that you can't trick your way to the top. Success comes from working hard and working smart. It comes quickest when you find the most direct and effective route from where you are to where you want to go. But the fact is that you need to understand the road that leads to success and then have a strategy that you will put together that gets you from point A to point B, from point of pain to point of pleasure. And then you put in the efforts, invest the time required, and then you reap the rewards. Rewards.
