A chiropractor describes how their mentor Ron pushed them to spend six months defining their vision and patient targets before opening. By working backwards from that number to design every system, they avoided the growth ceiling most doctors hit when their processes don't match their ambitions.

You know, one of the things Ron helped me really get clear on how I wanted to practice, who I wanted to be before I opened. I would say that as much as he was giving me the tactics of practice, those 6 months creating clarity of what I wanted before opening was probably the most important part. When the vision's clear, the mechanism will appear and fuzzy targets don't get hit. Like, I literally worked backwards of how many people I wanted to serve and then what every system and process needed to be in order to align with that. I see a lot of doctors, they have an aspiration or desire, maybe because they know somebody doing, serving a certain amount of people, or they've seen somebody do that and they think that's what they want, but there's incongruence and alignment and they're not— they haven't set their processes up to align with that. And then they always are hitting ceilings before it because there's incongruence. And so he helped me create the vision, like, here's where I want to go over X amount of time, and then micro down what every process needed to look like, which is over time grew as my vision changed. But it's what allowed me to do multiples is just really establishing that system and process.
