Rylee Meek and Christian Edwards reflect on 2024's political and cultural shifts from a Christian perspective, then discuss goal-setting and discipleship for 2025. They offer practical advice grounded in biblical teaching for personal growth and Kingdom-focused living.
Foreign.
Welcome King's Council family to our final episode of 2024. Man, I can't believe it's. The year is almost over and today we're going to be diving deep into what's been going on over this past year. It has been an incredible year. Monumental, some would say. There's been culture shifts, victories, great, great victories for us, jaw dropping revelations that we're going to dive into and we're going to unpack this all with the kingdom perspective as always and ul ultimately, then we're going to prepare you, we're going to set you up for success here. Launching into 2025. But before we do that, Mr. Christian Edwards. How we doing, brother?
Good, man. How you doing? How was Christmas? Titus's first Christmas?
It was good. Yeah, it was awesome, man. We just hung out at home and literally did nothing, so got fat. Fat and sassy as we always do on the holidays, so it was good, man. How about yours?
Fantastic, man. The family's in town. I got three of my grandbabies here and it's been a blessing waking up every morning. So I, I give my daughter and son in law a break in the morning. I have them, I cook them breakfast and, and just hang with them, play with them and then my son in law comes down and makes me breakfast. So literally for like six days straight, he, he makes his bacon with, with like the honey and black pepper. It's like probably the, the most unhealthy thing on planet earth, but it's delicious. I probably got to get my arteries checked before he leaves town though, because it can't be healthy. I know it's not healthy, but it is delicious. And as I'm spoiling his kids, he's spoiling me. And he leaves tomorrow, so I'm going to live it up till then.
Yeah, good man. That's why you're wearing black today. It's, it's slimming on you.
Yeah, my muffin top is out of control this week.
Oh, that's great. And for those that don't know, just make sure you heard that correct. He said grandbabies. Christian is the youngest grandfather that I do know, so it just rocks me every time you say that, bro. That's right.
Well, 43 years old. I mean, it's not crazy at this point, you know?
Yeah, it's not.
But yeah, I, I am glad I could be a young, youthful grandparents and maybe even a great grandparents. I, I'll still be young and.
Yeah.
And yeah, I, I hope so.
Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I'm still rocking 26. And at least that's the age I feel. And I feel like it's wild to think that my best friend is a grandpa.
I thought you're gonna say 26. That was your biceps size.
Yes.
Your arms. 26.
Yes.
You looked, of course you got the baby face.
Yes. Yeah, we were talking about that before the show here. For those that don't know, you know, it's, it's a struggle for me to even grow a few whiskers. So that's why I keep this thing nice and tight and Christian keeps the beard so we balance each other out with. Yes. Yes. But dude, we got a lot to unpack today. We're gonna try to unpack the entire year well, at least some of the, the hot topics here that you guys have all lived through and we're gonna just, we're gonna talk about it a little bit but then ultimately we want to, we're gonna walk you through an ex done for the past number of years within the King's Council. The King's Council again. Jesus is king. Can I get an amen in the chat with that? And, and we viewed like, hey, we're sitting on the council on the council here of, of how to, how to usher in how to, how to advance the kingdom of Heaven here on earth today and now and that's the, the essence behind the King's Council. The name of this, this show in, in our coaching community and we're going to walk you through and even give you guys a resource here for you, something that we're going to encourage you to do here anytime really over the next year. Of course it's, it's coming into that New Year's resolution time, which for the most part I think New Year's resolutions are silly because statistically nobody does them, nobody fulfills them. So what we're going to walk you through on, on how to actually create the, the habits that are needed to fulfill that God given vision that you have for your life. So stay tuned with us on that. But let's dive in, man. Let's do a quick recap here of 2024. What, what, what's your, what's your favorite topic here Your, your favorite event that happened in 2024?
Well, I think it's got to be good old 47, right? I mean Trump won the election at least.
Yes.
I mean I don't think that's the, the most impactful event in this nation. I think it's, it could be the most impactful event and I know we're going to mention Israel. We know the war going on, we know Russia, Ukraine, we know a lot's going on. But the, the, with Trump winning the election, the whole nation is going to be impacted for the better. So.
Yeah, in the world, the world, I mean the world for that matter. We can see that happening right now. Thank God. It's just like we, we've the wokeness. The pendulum swung so far that even those that were kind of on the line have regained some sense. Thank God. And, and obviously the, the map here that we see, the American people have spoken. Right, Right. And it's, it's wasn't just the electoral college, but it was the popular vote. And it's just beautiful. It's beautiful to see the really the, the launching pad. I think that's going to lead not only for the next four years, but really for the next 12 to 20 years here if, if we do this correctly. And I say we as in they for the most part if, but if they lead correctly and, but hey, we're, you know, Graham and Todd and this show, all of you listene. Had a huge impact with bringing this sense back to just reality. Like as what? Come on. This, this is, this has gone too far. This is way too extreme. Men are men, women are women. Let's, let's get back to the basics here. And so I'm so excited just about what we're, we're launching into here over this next, this next year of 2025. It's going to be incredible, man.
Yeah. And Trump winning. I, I think the, the bigger story is like you said, that's the byproduct of the pendulum swinging. And like people, the American people just getting tired of this woke. Cancel culture all wokeness. Everything that the evil demonic Democratic Party is about. Quite frankly, the, the whole nation's just getting sick of it. And Trump winning is a byproduct of that. I know Trump has a ton of like die hard loyal supporters himself, but I would like to think that anybody who ran against Kamala would have won because America has woken up where it's like, okay, at first, just all right, let, let them do what they want to do. But when it starts to trickle into everyday life, when it starts to get shoved down our throats, then everybody's like, okay, enough is enough. Like, I don't care if you're, you want to chop your, your genitalia off and be called something else, but when you're shoving it down my throat, I think that's when people are like, all right, enough is enough with this crap.
Yes.
So Trump winning is just a byproduct of that. But 100 Trump winning the election is going to make this nation better for the next four years and hopefully beyond that and hopefully the. The American people that. Their eyes have been open. They. They see that. Doing a little dance. A little Trump dance.
Yeah, I've been practicing.
I think a little too much shoulders, not enough arms.
Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's more like this.
Did. Did you see at AM Fest. So America Fest, for, For those that don't know Turning Point host an annual event. They've done this for the past. Was this the fourth or fifth one? I don't. I don't remember. I got to swing in there for a little bit, and I'm sure some of you guys were there, even streamed it. It's. It was an incredible celebration. And I think it was Benny that led, like, everybody to do the, The. The Trump dance. Is that what it's called, the dance or the shuffle? The. The. The Trump. We just called the Trump man. Yeah, it was. It was good. It was good. I think it was a Guinness World Record, for sure.
I love it. It's so fitting for Trump too. And just the. The song that plays, was it ymca, right?
Yes, yes, yes. It went. It went crazy.
Yeah, yeah, the Village People. I mean, maybe a little questionable there, but, you know, the song is just right. When Trump plays it everywhere else, I'd be like, okay, but yeah, yes, yes, it was.
It was. He can. He absolutely can. Well, what. What else, man? What else has went on in 2024 here?
Well, I think back to America. The American people opening their eyes to. To truth. The. All the conspiracy theories that we find out in 2024 aren't. They're not actually conspiracy theories, which is. I. You almost want to be called a conspiracy theorist at this point, because that. That means you actually have your eyes open to truth. Perhaps. But I mean, look at the. With the COVID report and. Oh, matter of fact, that virus did come from Wuhan, right?
Yeah.
And you know, how much crap did Trump take for calling it the. The China virus? And. And like, that was racist, right?
Right. Yeah, it was. It was the China virus. And yeah, that. I mean, absolutely. A lot of. First off, for those that don't know, the. The word conspiracy theorist was literally a word, a phrase that the CIA put into the public's, like, wherewithal and knowledge that they. They invented this phrase because people were catching on to the things that they were doing back and I think it was like the 60s or the 70s actually started to take place. It's like, oh, you're just a conspiracy theorist. It's like, well, am I, am I? And if, if, if time just passes. And this is the hardest part is, is just patience with allowing this time to pass. But I think you guys listeners here and, and a lot of people refused the jab, you know, and, and actually stood up and some of us gave in and actually had to get it done. And, and we're see unfortunately seeing a lot of ramification health effects that of. Of people I've, I. In one of the businesses that, that we run that are just, just they're sad really. They're, they're mad of, of course, but they're sad for what they ultimately end up having to put into their body. And, and you know, I'm not. I don't take joy in, in that by any means, but I certainly do take joy in, in that stuff is starting to be revealed. And, and now I think people now more than ever are questioning things like the CDC and the fda and, and we should like, even why we believe. You know, the last couple weeks we did some topics on, on why we believe the Bible to be true and why we believe that there is a creator because there is so much evidence that proves this, that everything was created by an, by a highly intellectual being. And, and I just think that it's, it's starting to peel back the onion a little bit, maybe revealing the veil, removing the veil. Excuse me. To show people, you know, actual truth of what's going on. And I love it more, more than ever, man. I think 2024 has been a year of revealing things, exposing things. Not even, not just even in the health space, but some other spaces as well, you know, and, and do P. Diddy. What, what? The dirt. What? The dirt. That's a topic. That's a topic we got to talk about here, man.
Yeah, well, I think just the, in general. I mean, I remember years ago, remember the kid Corey Feldman who was like, oh yeah, he was one of those child stars and he, he came out, he talked like, tried to speak up and he was saying like, there's pedophilia running rampant in Hollywood and everybody shunned up as being this like, weird, awkward kid. And lo and behold, again, people's eyes are just becoming open. I, I think that movie Sound of Freedom, that a lot for people as well, right? That movie about the, the child sex trafficking. And I think it opened the eyes of a lot of people. And it, it, you walked out of that, you felt so, so, so heartbroken about it that everybody felt like, I got to do something about this. And, but it opened the eyes of people to say, okay, this is actually a real thing that's going on. And when you look at, even in this country, you see how many kids are missing. It's not just in third world countries. This is happening. This is, this is right here. This is going on. So people are tired of it. And the enemy has done a really good job of deceiving people and the indoctrination of, you know, trusting the government and all that, trusting the school system, your teachers, like trusting doctors, the enemy and our, our nation and every other nation where you're taught to trust these people. We've been deceived, right? And it's coming out now with Diddy. Yeah, I mean, you got Epstein's list, which Trump is saying that, you know, he's going to reveal that list. And I, I think that's phenomenal. I, I mean, who's going to die? Like, who, who, like what whistleblowers are, are going to die because of this? Because there's a lot of big names on that list that obviously they don't want to, to come out. And I mean, it's just sickening to think that the elite of the elite that, like that they're just so evil and demonic and, you know, they're into sex trafficking and pedophilia and all that. But what did it. Yeah, it's like, okay, this has been going on for years and years, but now is the time this is coming out, right? So why is that? And what's the domino effect going to be from that? What other dominoes are going to fall? And I don't know, you see, Jay Z is on that, if not on, Jay Z is on the Epstein list, I believe. But, or, or it's gotta be supposedly on, on the list. But yeah, you see all these people with influence, right, who hold power and they, they just prey on people who are trying to make it in the business and it's being exposed. So it'll be interesting next year to see exactly if that list is revealed. See what happens with, with Diddy. Right? I mean, imagine just like, I mean, this guy like R. Kelly, that guy's sitting in prison, right? Like everybody forgot about him, but he's sitting in prison for what he did. Think of like Bill Cosby, right? Like all these people sit in prison. I think about that sometimes. Like, these are people that like, were looked up to, like, revered. And they're just sitting in prison, like, thank God that they are, because they're. They're evil people. But it's just. All right, how many. Hey, how many people is it going to be the year of 2025, where there's a whole slew of celebrities and. And people who are loved and held on this high pedestal that the truth comes out and they're sitting in jail cell the rest of their lives as well?
Yeah, man, that list that that Royce just had up, dude, it's. It's wild. If you actually look through that, all the lists, I mean, it's really. All of Hollywood, which we know is. Is just gnarly, but it's. It's wild. If you. If you actually scroll through that and see all the different names on here, it's like, Ed Helms, bro. He's hilarious. Right?
Right?
Look at the. Like, so many of these, it breaks my heart sometimes. It's like, oh, man, Reese Witherspoon, like, she was. She's a great actress, right? There's so many. And then there's some I see on here, I'm like, all right, well, yeah, that. I knew that. I knew that. But do you think, man, this is a good question. Like, do you think you said evil, like, and. But no question, Like, a number of these are. But some of them are just duped, right? They're just. They just bought into this. The world system here. And I mean, do you think that they're. Many of them knowingly know the wickedness and the gnarly this. That's actually going on? Or they just. They're seeking after their own success, their own, you know, wealth creation or whatever it is that their intent, fame that they're. They're striving for, like. Or do you think they all know? I mean, because the Bible tells us that. That the. The enemy will blind the minds of unbelievers, right? And it's like, are they just blinded or are they, like, truly evil? What's your thoughts on that?
Yeah, well, that. That raises the question, what is evil? Right? Because everybody who's not a child of God, you're a child of Satan. That's what it says in First John. So being a child of the devil, even if you're a good dude, like, I wouldn' Every person I know who's not saved, like, they're good people. Although we get into the. The talk of, like, we're all inherently wicked. I know that. But people who live good, decent lives, you know, they. They. They're generous, they're. They're upright, they're moral, they have good values. But if they're not a child of God, then they're considered a child of Satan. So that they're. They do have wicked hearts. We all have wicked hearts, right? Even us believers, they're inherently wicked. But we've been born again and we've now been infused by, with the holy. So we've been born again. But I think a lot of these people, at the very least, they've compromised to, to gain success, right? So maybe they didn't partake themselves, but they've compromised. Even if you turn a blind eye to this, I mean, that. I think that's evil if you're turning a blind eye when, if you know that children are being sexually assaulted, things like that, or just all the, the evil and wickedness within Hollywood, the music business, if you just kind of turn the blind eye to that. And I mean, it goes back to what you're saying about people who are forced to take the jab. It's like you don't want to, but you, if you had spoken up about it right then, like, you're shamed for not caring about other people and basically, like you're getting canceled for not, not buying into this lie. So I think a lot of it is that nobody wants to get canceled, especially musicians like that. This is their, their bread and butter. But if I speak up and say anything about what's going on, I'm definitely getting canceled. I mean, you see how many, how many musicians actually are Republicans and Trump supporters. Just, they can never say it because their music's not going to be played anymore. Right? They're going to get canceled all of a sudden. So I think that, man, I would like to think that some of these people are just caught up in it. They didn't actually do anything wrong themselves. However, it is interesting that you look at that list and a lot of those people, if not all of them, they were pro Kamala for this past election, right? So it just kind of tells you who her supporters are as opposed to Trump supporters, and not that it's a Republican Democrat thing. The Democrats are the ones that chose to go down this route of being really evil, wicked, demonic. It's funny that they, they. The whole thing with being pro. I don't even want to call it pro, pro choice. It's pro abortion. It, you know, my body, my choice. Okay, well, where was this when people didn't want to get. Get the jab because.
Right, right.
Our body, our choice. Right so it's. Yeah, it's crazy, man. Sometimes I. If I didn't have Jesus, man, I. I'd be freaking out about the world, period. I don't know what I'd be doing with my life, but I would have been one of those who was still blinded by the enemy, for sure. Not to say that I'd be partaking in any of this bull crap that we see going on in Hollywood by any means, because I, I think there, There. There's people. You don't have to be saved. Before I was saved, I, you know, that stuff, like, disgusted me and like, I, I thought those people should be, you know, castrated. If you.
Yeah.
Anything to children so that I think they're. I'm bouncing back and forth, but I think there's got to be people who are. Do have some good morals, good values. They just got caught up, maybe compromised. And. But if you don't stand and speak for truth, then, I mean, you're. You're just as guilty as the person who's actually doing it.
Yeah, man, it's good. Fight for something or die for nothing, right? And you. The scripture you reference, man, I think is. Is a good one. It says, hey, if you're not a child of God, you are a child of Satan. And I think that can be a hard thing for people to hear, even some of us listening to this right now, because immediately our feelings get in the way there, and we're like, how dare you call me that? If I, If I'm, you know, I'm a good person, I just might not believe that. That Jesus is God. And they go down, this. All this, you know, justification in their. In their head. But at the end of the day, if you are a follower of Jesus, but which I highly encourage, your feelings no longer matter. If you're gonna. If you're gonna choose to live by truth and choose to live by the word of God again, which we highly encourage, because there's a lot of things I read in the Bible and it's like, I don't feel like that, but at the end of the day, that doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. There's plenty of things that. That. That I don't want to do, but it's about being obedient to our ultimate call and our ultimate purp to set apart our feelings and. And once we give our. Our life to Jesus, right. We receive him as savior. Now it's like, it's this, yes, we are sanctified being. We are set apart, but it's It's a continual process to, to no longer give in to those feelings, to no longer give into those. And, and this process of discipleship from a root word discipline, right? To be. Become disciplined in anything, it's going to take work, it's going to take. Take effort. And it's. And, and this is part of what we're going to walk into on, on the remainder of this episode of, like, how do I do those things? It's like, I want to be the best version of myself. I want to be the best husband, the best wife, the best father, mother, but how do I do that? And as I said before, like, I think. I think New Year's resolutions are absolutely ridiculous because there's no point in, in having a, like a day on the calendar. It's like, well, this is when everything's gonna change. That a. It works. It changes the moment you choose to change it. So it can happen today on December 27th. I just had to look over at the calendar, what day this is. It can happen today, it can happen in June, it can happen July. It doesn't. It doesn't matter. But that being said, now's the time when I think everybody is like, feeling like, okay, we're. We're going into this new season and now is as good a time as any. Right? And so while I think New Year's resolutions are stupid, I do believe it does it. It is a time frame or it is a platform that we can use here to actually launch into a new version, the better version of ourselves. Right? And, and that's what I want to walk. I mean, do you have any other highlights for 2024, man, before I get, get into 2025 here?
Well, I just want to comment on what you just said. We could be more disciplined. I, I think discipline comes with the Holy Spirit, right? You have a far better chance of being disciplined. And, and there's still going to be a struggle, right? Paul writes in Romans, the things I want to do, I don't do. The things I don't want to do, I still do. But we have the Holy Spirit. First Corinthians 10:13 says that there's no temptation that we're going to face that aren't common to everybody. Right? We face the same temptations, but God has given us believers a way of escape we could actually overcome. We. We can be disciplined because it's not just by our own strength, our own might, it's by the. The power of the Holy Spirit can be more disciplined. And I think that the the closer I am to Jesus, the, the stronger I am in my walk, then I am more disciplined across the board, 1,000%. As far as other impactful events of 2024, Israel, of course, showing that that's a big one. God, God's hand is on Israel. You know, this nation the size of New Jersey, they've basically taken out Hamas, right? I mean, there's still hostages that, that, that have been freaking hostages for over a year now. So they're, they're gonna, they'll find them if they're alive. I have no doubt that they're gonna find them. But let's pray for, for those hostages. But you know, Hezbollah then, then attacks, that, that was kind of quick work. And then, you know, you got the, the Houthis now in Yemen. Right? It's, but this is all scripture. Nobody's going to be able to defeat Israel. We know this. But it's just remarkable to actually out in everyday life. But at the same time, you know scripture, you know that ultimately God's hand is on, on the nation of Israel. It, it's still sad to see all, all this that's going on, people losing their lives. And I, I don't think there is many innocent people who have lost lives as being reported. I mean, just a couple days ago, supposedly the IDF killed six journalists from Gaza or something. Well, that, that Israel comes out and says, well no, they were posing as, they were terrorists, they were posing as journalists. That way they could report that Israel killed six journalists. So I, I, I think that they've been very intentional of sparing people who aren't involved in this in any sort of way. So, but Israel, we should always keep Israel in, in our prayers. They already have the hand of God on them. But those who bless Israel will be blessed.
Yes, absolutely, man, absolutely. And I love just seeing as you mentioned, when we see scripture being played out, it's, it shouldn't be surprising to us. And, and even when we, when we start to see the, you know, what we've seen with the drones and these possible aliens, it's like, it's, it's wild to, to watch this stuff play out. But again, that just comes back to. We don't have, if, if we are followers of Christ and we, we understand the Word and we're maybe we're starting to understand it now. There is just a sense of peace and of joy and also just again, I'm gonna, I'm gonna just say my, my top for 2024 is, is obviously just what happened with the election I think that's, that's many of our listeners here. And, and ultimately what's setting up what I believe just God his mercy upon America here because you know, and not, not just world, because as we lead, as America leads, the world does follow. And we just have not had a prominent leader, we have not had somebody with somebody the way that Trump leads. Right. And you may not like a lot of things that he does and says and at the end of the day, who cares? It's like is he doing what's best for America? Is he doing what's best for the people that are, you know, calling themselves American citizens here? And, and I believe, no question we have the right commander in chief and, and it's going to be an awesome 2025 here and.
Amen. So let's jump into this, man.
Yeah, let's, let's, let's do it. Because some of you, you know, I, I grew up like setting goals and, and I, I think that has attributed to a lot of the different things that we've been able to do. No, no question. But goals in themselves I think are a lot of people just don't do, especially Christians. I've found this, you know, in the past five years as we've created the King's Council and like what is what we believe is just kind of a operating in excellence, a high level coaching community for entrepreneurs and, and for those that may, may not think of themselves as an entrepreneur. The root word of entrepreneur is undertaker. Like are you an undertaker so you can be a stay at home mom in an entrepreneur. You could be working a 9 to 5 in an entrepreneur because it's, it's more of a mindset we take on. And, and I believe that, that you know, God was the ultimate entrepreneur. Like he created and as, as we are made in his image, we're called to co create with him and, and ultimately fulfill what Genesis 128 says, to be fruitful, to multiply, to have dominion here on this earth. And so how do we do that? Like I've heard a lot of Christians even just say, well I don't, I don't set goals. I, because it's, you know, I just pray about it and I just let, let God take care of the rest. And it's like, well yeah, I, I, I fully understand that. But as I want to give even some examples here of why I believe it's important for especially Christians to have goals and to, to have a mission and to have a purpose and, and some may even be struggling with like, man, I don't even know what my purpose is here on this earth. And that's okay, because your purpose is to discover your purpose, right? And once, once you've got that now it's to, to develop that purpose and, and deploy that into the marketplace. We call it discover, develop and deploy. And, and when it comes to goal setting, it's no question those that set goals, this is like statistically, well, majority 80% of the people that set goals or New Year's resolutions, they just don't, don't, they don't, don't fulfill them. They're, they're, they're dead. They're, they've fallen off the bandwagon within the first six weeks. This is why I hate going to the gym. January and you know, but by the end of January into February, it's like back to normal again, right? It's like, it's wide open because people just don't stick to what they're, what they're doing. And this is why I think people walk around with just a lack of confidence in, In. In. In whatever that it is that they're trying to accomplish in. In. Because if you look at even the root wor, it's confide. And when you confide, there's only one person that ever knows everything that you've ever promised to yourself, and that's you. And if you have let yourself down year after year after year, it's no question, it's no wonder why you lack confidence, right? But that can be changed, as I mentioned, the moment you choose to change it. And it starts with just taking on a new mindset. This is why Scripture even tells us that we're to be, be continually be transformed by the renewing of our mind. And that's something that has to happen on a daily basis in implementing habits and what I'll even call triggers. I'll get into that in a second of like, how do we do these things, these, all these plans that we have, these goals that we may even have. Because at the end of the day, a goal, if you don't have a plan to implement it, right? The what, what I would call more of the inputs that's going to fulfill the output of what you're looking to accomplish, then you're just. It's a, it's a hope, it's a dream, it's, it's a, it's wishful thinking. And don't even waste your time setting goals. If, if that's the case, if you don't have, if you don't start to put together a game plan like what am I going to do on a weekly basis, a monthly basis, weekly basis, a daily basis. What do I have to do that's either getting me further from my vision or, or, or closer to it, right? Like how, how do I do this? And it's being able to put those, those column levers right in your life to be able to push forward or to pull back in monitoring these things over this next year. Right? We're just going to use the year for example, because that's typically what these New Year's resolutions actually are portraying of. Like this is what I'm going to accomplish in 2025. And so as believers, should we set goals? Because when you read scripture, it's not like you set goals. But I think there's plenty of examples throughout scripture on why we should, right? And, and, and why we, we shouldn't just sit back and well, I'm just gonna pray about it and I'm gonna leave it up to God. Like no, God has, has put us, has instilled in us this, this mandate here on the earth and he wants to, he has to work through his people. And if we understand this, this is where we can start to set these God sized goals. There's a God sized vision to fulfill the ultimate mission or purpose of why you were placed here on the earth, right? And, and there's lots of examples throughout scripture we can look at. In the Old Testament we can look at Noah, right? The guy, he, he was given a, a game plan in Genesis chapter seven, right? Like build the ark. Okay? God told him to do this, right? And then ultimately he had, so there were goals that were set in place. Like he had daily things that he had to actually do. Paul in the New Testament, similar like he had, he was inspired by God to plant churches to spread the gospel, right? And so he had, he ultimately had goals of, of what? Now we don't know the, the necessary details or intricacies of these, but I just want us to understand this. Like setting goals is not a bad thing. It is a good thing, right? But we want to make sure we're going to be setting them appropriately and that, and that's what we'll talk about here on how to actually do that. But, but Jesus himself, this is, this is what I, I think is so cool. It's like I believe he was a goal setter, right? He, he had one mission to, to come here to, to through man, right? To come here as a human being to ultimately glorify God on the earth, right? And, and he, he accomplished that task. And, and this is why I believe he, he had to have certain goals that he had in mind. There were things that he, he, he did, he had a mission, he had a plan and he stuck to it. Right? I mean it talks about him having, you know, specific plans and, and ultimately fulfilling those and, and being able to say no to people, say no to things that are like, no, that's not why I'm here or not yet. Right? He, he, he would tell the, the disciples, like, no, don't tell anybody yet. Like, it's not time. And so I think if we understand this, that, that even three and a half years to like fulfill this strategic plan, he had to have certain goals, probably certain steps and, and segments along the way that he's like, now's the time, now's not the right time. And again, I just want to give reference to like believers who, who maybe don't set these goals, but all of us, we have been put here on earth for a purpose. And Ephesians 2:10 tells us that it was, was, it was planned in advance for us. So you listening to this right now? God has a purpose and a plan for you that he has, has planned in advance for you, which is wild to think about. Exciting, can even be nerve wracking for some people of like, oh my gosh, that means you driving in the car listening to this right now, sitting in your office listening to this right now. You're in the gym right now, wherever you are. God has created each and every one of us with a plan and a purpose. And that's what we want to figure out. Okay? Some of us know our purpose, but some of us may be struggling with this, right? And, and Scripture tells us that God gives us the desires of our heart. And, and for, for those that will tell you to follow your heart. Bad idea. Because your heart is a gnarly, rotten thing, right? What we have to do is follow the. What, what does the Bible say for, from a direct point, right? When I said earlier, like, your feelings, it just don't matter. You can feel like you can get offended at a lot of things, but at the end of the day, does that line up with the word of God? And, and when we start to, to set these goals in place and, and I want these to be practical for people who are Christian. Like, like real goals for your family, right? Real goals for maybe some of us lead a business or maybe they want to start a business. These are our goals. What is going to be worked through you to ultimately fulfill the purpose and the intent of why you were created to be here on this earth today and now. Right. And, and as, as believers, this is what I think we need to take seriously because I, I don't know if I've said this in past shows, but like the judgment day that we face, if, if again if you've received Christ as savior, he's, he's Lord of your life. The judgment that we face when we get into heaven. We just watched by the way, shout out to Angel Studios. Too epic. I just love what they're doing. But we just watched like after death, near death experiences last night, which was cool. It was, it was cool for these people that have like had these out of body experiences or those that fell into complete despair and, and crying out to Jesus and, and like them having this crazy experience and then putting back like their spirit being, put it back into their flesh to continue to walk this life out here on this earth. Their lives have been radically changed. Right. But not all of us are going to go, go through those experiences. We have to understand what the word of God says and ultimately start to walk those things out to become disciplined in those tasks, to become disciples and ultimately make disciples because that's what we're called to do and that's our heart behind this show is when we talk about things from a Kingdom perspective is we, we want to make disciples, to ultimately make more disciples. And, and we're going to talk more about this throughout 2025 and with some upcoming events. Yes, we're going to host some events here throughout the year to get together, to actually do this thing together here on, on those, for, for those that are really committed to this lifestyle of, of of Kingdom first. Right. The, the gospel of the, the kingdom is what, what Christ proclaimed when he came back. It was, it was not about salvation and it was, but it was about the kingdom and walking in the kingdom and the fact that it was here and now. And you can experience this thing today on earth because eternal life, it doesn't, it doesn't happen the moment you, you, you, you die to your flesh. Well, that's technically I guess when it would have happened. But when we think of death, death from, from dying here, leaving this earth, eternal life doesn't begin then. It begins the moment that you actually commit your life to Jesus and, and you, you confess with your mouth that he is Lord and you believe and ultimately repent, you have a change of mind, you, you start to walk in a new direction that he has for you. That's part of that sanctification process. That's when eternal life begins. And any of you can do that, that listening to this right now, it can happen any moment. And it begins the moment you, you believe, you confess and you start to walk this thing out. And that's part of what I, I want to, to go through here, Christian for. So for those that don't know, you can go to join kingscouncil.com join kingscouncil.com and you can download a worksheet that we're, we've made available for you guys that we'll walk through a little bit here with you. I'm not going to go through the entire thing because it's something that you've got to actually work through yourself. But the big green box there, if you download that, this is that worksheet that will help you set the stage here to not just look forward, but it is to reflect on what's happened here in 2024. And then how do we set the stage here to walk out this God given life that we have here into 2024. And yeah, I'm not going to go through all of these with you guys, but we just want, we want to equip you, we want to give you the tools here to commit to this thing. Right. And you can, it's completely free. Join kingscouncil.com you're going to get on our email list so you'll be updated with a lot of things that, that we have coming down the pipeline here in 2025 as well. Because we want you to be a part of it. Right? This is, we, we, we, we, we love this platform. It's great to, to come on and hop on and talk about things that, that are going on and to dive into what does scripture actually say. But ultimately we, our true heart is like the multiplication effect, like getting you to become disciplined and then teaching others how to do so. And this is a great tool to use on your own, to use with your wife, your spouse, like to use with a small group. Maybe you're leading a group on like how do we, how do we set the stage here for 2025 appropriately? It's a fun exercise to actually walk through again. So find that on Join Kings Counsel. Christian. I just went on a long tangent, brother.
It's good man. It's good. I was here, I was listening.
Well, you didn't fall asleep, right?
Yeah, that, that worksheet guys, download it. We've been doing this every year I do one individually, my wife does one, then we come together, do one together as a married couple. But it's so good. And it starts with reflecting on the previous year, year, because you can't really know where you're going unless you know where you are now, right?
Yeah.
So you have to establish that and be real with yourself, be honest with yourself. That's why you can do it just with your spouse off the bat. But do one on your own where you're just real and, and you open up. Because there's probably many things that you missed a mark on. We, we all did. But get that down so you can see where we're going into 2025 and how to not miss the mark for next year here. But I just want to mention a couple scriptures for those who maybe they're in a place where they're not hearing from the Lord. They don't know their next step. They don't know, they don't have a plan or necessarily goals for 20, 25 yet. Proverbs 16:3 says, Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. So you may not know where you're going yet, but commit everything to the Lord. And then of course, we have Proverbs 3, 5 and 6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding and all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will direct your path. So it starts when you do this, like just surrender everything to the Lord, seek the Lord, cry out to him, pray, read the Word. And that because we really, if we're doing it on our own accord, then it will be, we will be missing the mark. And you mentioned Paul, you said he was inspired to plant churches. I mean, Paul, Paul said something in scripture that we should all, all be saying we need to know our purpose that God has called us to here on this earth. Because Paul said that if I don't fulfill the works, the, the purpose that God has placed me on this earth, then I count my life to be nothing. And yeah, we can have a good life. We could have success in certain things, raise our kids. Right? Yes, we're going to heaven. But God, like Riley said, God created us with specific, specific purpose. Right. We all have these macro, general purposes, just simply as believers, as children of God with those specific purposes. Can you imagine if the entire church just, just knew what their spiritual gifts were, flourished in them? They knew what their purpose was, they were committed to it. I mean, what would the world look like today? So it would just be remarkable. You Wouldn't be able to, to, to, to turn without getting smacked in the face with the Holy Spirit, right? There would just be evidence of God Absolutely, absolutely everywhere. So if you don't know where you're going, seek the Lord first. He will establish your plans. He will direct your paths. But you said something. You use that word, inspire. And that's key to this, the difference between inspiration and motivation, right? Because we can get motivated to do things for a short amount of time. These New Year's resolutions, people get motivated, like, okay, I'm gonna lose 20 pounds next year. I'm gonna lose 60 pounds. And they go to the gym for 30 days. But it's not sustainable. They were just motivated to do it, but they weren't truly inspired. Inspired means like in spirit. And if you're going to be inspired by something, you might as well be inspired by the Spirit, the Holy Spirit. So again, when you have the Holy Spirit within you, it's a lot easier. We, we have a weapon that the world doesn't have to be disciplined and actually accomplish what we, we set out to do.
Yes. Yeah, that's good, man. And, and just on the worksheet, we, we call it, it rest, reflect, review and then relaunch. It's just what, what we've called it over the past few years in doing this. And part of it is, is understanding where we're at right now, right? And if you want true transformation in your life, I believe it boils down to like, four big things. And, and ultimately we need to have the awareness of where we're at, like, right now. Where, where are we at if we just, if we just are, are honest with ourselves, where are we at at? Like, am I, you mentioned, you know, losing weight, or is my health where it's at mentally, emotionally, Am I where I'm at? Financially, am I where I'm at? Right? And a lot of us can, we can. You can probably think of things right now. It's like, okay, you become aware of just a dissatisfaction, right? And I think that we are to be content, whether we have a lot or we have a little. Scripture tells us that. But I think there is a healthy dissatisfaction that that is, is, is, is a good thing for us, right? Being content. But, but, but desiring more. I want, I want more. A deeper level with my creator. I want, I want, I want, I want better health, right? I want, I want to have more, to give more freely. I receive so freely. I can give. Like when we become aware of where we're at, right? So check Your motives and all of these things of, of casting this vision here for 20, 25 and then set the, set the, the tone or the intentions of, of what needs to actually happen because it's fun to cast the vision, but then we have to determine, okay, what needs to happen in order for that to actually come to fruition. And the biggest thing on this is your inputs are far more important than the outputs, right? Because your inputs are going to be what controls the outcome. And, and what I mean by that, you, some of us know you can go to the gym all you want, but if you're eating like Lizzo, you're not gonna gain, you're not gonna get the results, right? I don't know how she eats, but I'm guessing it ain't good because that produced, right. I don't know, maybe she probably got on a zempic. I don't know. I don't know, man. Yeah, she probably did good old, good old OIC and plenty of side effects from that. But not, not what this is about. But understand the inputs control the outputs, right? So it, we have to decide first off, okay, this is what I'm, I'm going to do. And, and again, decide. I like these root words because to decide means you're, you're literally deciding. Like, think of taking it out of your side, right? So you're cutting off any other, other alternatives, right? So when you set your alarm early, it goes off and you're like, I'm tired, I just want to sleep in. No, you already decided. That's not even an option anymore. You, you have to get up, right? Because you've decided. You, you've, you've left making choices, that's no longer a, A, a choice that you get to make because you have decided. And this is when you implement discipline in your life, right? And you, if and what all of us need to understand, a lot of us want to grow or mature in these different areas of our life. And maturity never happens by escaping something. It. That's not how it works, right? Even when we're praying to God of like, man, just make this thing go away. Take it away. Like, no, there's a purpose for that. There is an intent for that. And that's why we're told to take joy in those situations as hard as it can possibly be mature yet is only earned through going through it to doing the tough things. When you go to the gym and you break the muscle down, you better believe it's going to suck for the next three days, right? You're going to be sore. But that's a, the maturation process, right? And, and when we understand this, and most of it has to do with coming back to our mindsets again of. I've already decided, right? I, I've got the new direction that I'm going to lead in life. And, and we all know that you cannot lead a positive life with a negative mind. So if your mind is negative and you're thinking about all the, the junk that's going on or you're paying attention, even all the crappy things that are going on in the news, it's no wonder and you feel crappy, right? So you have to start to fill yourself with things that are good with things. This is why Scripture tells us to, to think upon things that are. That are good. Think upon things that are, that are noble, that are pure and just, right? And, and meditate on these things. Because when we start to do that, that becomes this continual transformation of our mind and ultimately how we can walk this things out as true disciples, right? So back to just the worksheet that, that I want you guys to go download, check your motives, right? And understanding. Like, am I, am I setting goals for me or for, for. Because I really believe this is what God has called me to do. Do, right? And that could be literally, that could be building a business that could be saying no to things to spend more time with your family. That's a, that's a big one for me, right? It's something that I've, I've done over this last quarter of 2024. And man, it's been incredible. It's been incredible actually being present with my family. And so I don't want you to even set these goals or think of this like in 2025 about, about having more and doing more. Sometimes it's stopping things and, and saying no to things and cutting things off so you can focus on what matters most, right? And then make those intentional plans. Make. When I say plans, I, I really mean the habits that you have to start to take to, to the inputs, we'll call it, that you have to start to act on, right? Because your inputs, for example, example, if you want to make more money, your goal is to make a million bucks this year, whatever that number is. That's cool. The wish that we're talking about. But what has to happen today in order for that to happen? Do you have an even idea? Do you. Is it a business that is a side hustle? Do you. If, if it is, have you set up the LLC yet, right? Have you actually created a marketing plan? Do you have a go to market strategy? Do you like, these are the little things that you can start to map out and, and create an action plan. Like this has to happen this week. This has to happen this week, right? For, for your health. It could be something as simple as, you know, I want to be healthier in 2025. Okay, well what can you do today? Can you research some vitamins or supplements? Can you get the, the gym membership? What can be, what can be done in ultimately creating these habits or what I've had to do in my life is I create triggers, right? A trigger that, that gets me in, in motion to, to fulfill this new habit until it becomes my new default, right? You're gonna live a life by design or by default. And what we want to do is design our defaults, design those things. So a silly stupid one for me is feet hit the ground, water I pound. It's, it's silly, but it's something that I wanted to start drinking more water. This is a few years ago when I just had this, this like, thought of like, all right, how do I do this? Well, the first thing that I do and I get out of bed, my feet hit the ground, I walk to the kitchen and I get a 32 ounce jug of water like this and I pound it, right? I've just, I've. These are just these little triggers to ultimately create these habits that set you up for success for the remainder of the day, for the rest of the week, for the next month, for the next year. And these, these are, it's called habit stacking. I wouldn't recommend just chang at once because that's difficult, right? But if we start to do one at a time here and we stack these things over time, that's when true transformation can actually take place. The last thing is really just. Yeah, that. Then I'll throw it to you, brother, because I'm sure you got some more scriptures on this, but just submitting those plans to God, right? And, and once you've, you've got them first off, praying through them, right? Because if, if, if and when you, when I say check your motives and, and thinking on this, like praying through them like, is this a God, what I believe? And some of us, we know that we've, we've had this idea and this thought for some period of time, we just haven't acted on it yet. And what better time, what better time than, than to make this plan and to put this into fruition and give it to God, right? We know that, that we. Right. It actually Proverbs tells us that, that we plan our course, but the Lord establishes our steps. So you plan it and God's going to establish it, right? Whether that happens next Week, Next year, 2025, 2028, 2032, God will establish that. But you can. You control the controllables, right? So what can you control in this? And that's by doing the little things, controlling the inputs and believing the output is up is up to God, right? Because if you control those inputs, obedience is our part. That's what we're called to do. And the outcome is up to God, right? Whether that is, is to go make that million dollars or to have better health, right? You control those inputs and then leave the rest up to God. So when we sit back, we say, well, I'm just going to pray about it. Or, you know, if God wants me to be wealthy, he'll. He'll let me win the lottery. Like, get. You're an idiot if, if that's your thought process, right? Like, no, we are, are to establish, we're to create the plans and we are to act on those. Right. I've said this in the, in the past. I don't, this isn't scripture at all, but I believe God blesses our footprints, not our buttprints. And, and if we can actually start to take action on these things, faith without works is dead. So it ain't faith at all. If you're just sitting back and, and hoping and wishing and, and, and thinking things are just going to happen for you, you have to be the ones that, that takes the steps. And true faith is action. If you're going to act those things out, if it's, if it's stepping up, if it's, if it's raising your, your, your voice against something, finally, as we even talked about earlier on the show, like, do those things and God will establish the rest of the steps here. I'll throw it to you, Christian, because I think there's, there's so much scripture that you can unpack here. But even. Just how can they do this from a biblical standpoint moving forward here really, over the next week to, to meditate on this and, and, and, and not just like, quick, write it down. It's like, okay, this is what I'm gonna do. Like, no, get, get to the, the root of this thing and how do we walk this thing out as, as believers?
Yeah. I put a list together of five spiritual goals for Christians. And you have to be practical about it. These should be. Be daily things that you do. But if you don't spend much time with the Lord now, prayer time, Bible reading, then don't, don't start with setting aside four hours of your day. Right. Then, sorry, I got a notification on the computer. I thought I was going down, thought the tech was going to fail, but we're good. So the five spiritual goals for Christians. Number one, deepen your relationship with God. And no matter what you, you, you do beyond that, whatever practical or, or natural carnal goals that you may have, that, it all starts with this. Because if you can get these spiritual goals right, then everything else will be blessed. Everything else will be more effective. So the way you deepen your relationship with God, three things. Read the Bible, pray fast, right? Very simple. But commit to reading the Bible. If wake up in the morning, literally, literally spend five minutes, put a timer on your phone for five minutes. Just sit with scripture, set five minutes, do five and five. Five minutes of prayer, five minutes of scripture. We know Joshua 1:8 says, this book of the law should not, shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. So you meditate on the word of God. So now you may be obedient and more disciplined to actually do what the commands of God is saying. And then, for then you will make your way prosperous and you'll have good success. I mean, that's great. I think we all want prosperity, we all want success, right? And we read the Bible. The psalmist says, in Psalm 119, your word I have hidden in my heart that I make, that I might not sin against you. We need to get the word of God embedded in our heart. Because when the enemy comes with lies and accusations, we need to be to. Able, able to do and say the same thing that Jesus did when he was tempted by the enemy after 40 days of fasting. What did he say? Oh, no, it is written, right? We need to know what the truth is. Well, we're going to fall for anything if we don't know what the actual truth is. But we could. If we hide the word of God in our heart, we meditate on it day and night, then we will be able to say, oh, no, no, I know truth. It is written.
And day and night. That's a Kid Cudi song. I know, I know that one.
Oh, look at you.
Day and night.
Night. Yeah.
Usually I almost held my tongue and I was like, I gotta say it. I gotta say it usually you don't.
Know who the artists are with a darker complexion. So I'm proud to be for.
I know, I know that one man. I know that one.
Okay, good stuff. Hebrews 4:12 tells us that the word of God is living. It's active as supernatural power to mold us into Christ likeness. Right. So we need to word the, read the word of God to prayer. Prayer, right. First Thessalonians 5:17 says to pray without ceasing. But we're not supposed to do it just because God says pray without ceasing, which would be phenomenal, right. Because we'd be obedience. And Jesus says that if you obey, if you love me, you will obey me. So we actually show how much we love Jesus by our obedience to his commands. But I mean the, the vehicle that prayer is to, to actually have an encounter with God, to actually commune with him. Him. Prayer is that vehicle, right? That, that we could have a dialogue with God, a two way conversation, communion with God. Prayer is remarkable. And then of course prayers unprayed will be prayers unanswered. You know, James says it, he says you don't have because you don't ask. So we, we should ask. I mean there's plenty of examples of people in scripture if they didn't cry out to Jesus, to blind man, man, if he didn't cry out to Jesus to be healed. Right. If the 10 lepers, right. If the. You don't ask, you're not going to have. So prayer is very important. And then fast regularly. Jesus says in Matthew 6, he doesn't. He. It's such a, he doesn't have to command it because it's a given that you should be doing this. If you are my follower, if you are truly a follower of Jesus Christ. He says, says just like he says when you pray, he says when you fast, don't be like the hypocrites, right? With the, with a sad countenance. So there's expectation from God in heaven that we fast. And I mean fasting is remarkable. I think many Christians, me included, don't fast enough. But fasting really develops our dependence on God. It gives us clarity in our decision making process. It brings, brings breakthrough deliverance, spiritual renewal. And there are so many examples in scripture. I mean when King Jehoshaphat, when he declared a national fast, when Judah was about to be attacked, the whole nation fasted and they defeated their enemy without even having to fight. There's just countless stories. Queen Esther, Nehemiah, Moses fasted Jesus. We talked about Saul. Well, Saul And Barnabas, Paul and Barnabas, they were set apart after and they knew what their purpose was after fasting. So if you want to know your, your purpose, fast and seek the lord. So that's one. The goal goal of every Christian going into 2025, deepen your relationship with, with God. Two is share the gospel, right? The, the that that's what we are called to do. Go and make disciples. Matthew 28. Right. But we should also be supporting mission work. I love Romans 10, right? It talks about those who don't believe. How could they, how could they call upon them if they don't believe? How could they believe if they don't hear? How could they hear if they don't have a preacher? How could a preach preacher, how can they hear a preacher if the preacher doesn't go? Right? So a preacher should go. And our job, we don't have to be the one on the mission field, right? We could be the one. One whose word role is to help fund those mission efforts, but make it a goal to help spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Whether you are the one sharing yourself or you're the one who's just help helping to fund those missions.
It's good. That's good on that man. I think I've never set what I mean, I can't say I've never done this. But one thing that radically changed for me over the past few years is I started to set, set giving goals versus income goals. Because I know if, if my heart, my motive, my intent again is, is in alignment with the word of God, I know the outcome is going to be up to God. So my goal is to do this. And, and I have a plan and steps to do this. The income will be there for me to actually give the amount that I feel God has led me to actually give. So I would encourage those. If, if one of the goals you're going to create or set is it is an income goal goal set a giving goal, right? That, that, that will allow you to still, you know, live your life. But it changes our motive, it changes our intent behind it versus just for me, for me, for me. But it is ultimately to fulfill the great commission here rather so go back back to you brother.
Amen. So the first one, deepen your relationship with God. Two, share the gospel and in three, grow in Christlike character. So if you don't have a mentor, if somebody's not not discipling you, if there's a church that's not discipling you, you need to get discipleship in Your life. And that's for everybody. I don't care. You could be the most, the, the oldest, most seasoned Christian on planet Earth, whoever that is. There's only one of them, that's probably the only person that's not being discipled, right? Everybody else under that guy who's like number one at the apex of their Christian walk. If you're not that guy, then you need to be discipled. So find somebody to help in your walk. Find a mentor. Find somebody who's going to help, help you, you to be accountable, right? Find an accountability partner where you guys know each other's goals for the week, for the day, and you check in with one another that it's so important that you have that mentorship in your life. And then cultivate the, the fruits of the spirit that love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control, right? If you have kids, you can't say those things without singing the song. But make it a priority to, to grow in those things. Overcome sickness, sin through confession, right? First John 1:9 that, that if we confess our sins, God is faithful to, to, to hear, to cleanse, to forgive, right? So make confession part of your, your daily routine because I guarantee you, not you, not me, not anybody listening to this woke up this morning and didn't do something yesterday that was sinful. So confess that thing and be cleansed of it. And the cool thing about Jesus when he forgives is he chooses to forget about it as well. He doesn't hold it against us. So it's day that's that brand new mercies every single day where he doesn't hold it over our heads and then serve others, right? You grow so much. Find a homeless shelter. Find somebody that, that you can be generous to somebody who's in need and just be generous. It helps you grow in humility, helps you grow. Just do it. Even if you don't do it with a, a generous heart, right, Or a joyful heart off the bat, just do it and you start to just develop this gratitude for what you have. And then that humility really starts to, to flourish. And I mean, we need to be humble. We need to walk in humility as Christians. 100. So then I have four build and strengthen relationships. God created relationships. We are relational beings. They are very important. Don't be one of those Christians that's just cooped up in your house and you don't have interaction with other people. If you watch church online, that's fantastic. But it's good to go. Hebrew says that we're not to forsake the, the assembling of the saints, right? We're to. To grow with one another. And also don't forsake the exhortation of one another. It's hard to exhort people, encourage one another if you're not actually in a part of a fellowship. But fathers, this is a big one if you're a father listening to this right now. Now, Ephesians 6:4, bring up your children in the training and instruction of the Lord, right? Think about that every single day. So when you download this worksheet and you go through your goals for 2025, know that it's my responsibility, right? At Men, you are the heads of your household. You're to lead your, your wife, your wife well. You are to lead your children well. And you need to train them and instruct them on the ways of the lord. Now, Deuteronomy 6 that, that's the great commandment that, that Jesus reiterates as the great commandment. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall walk, walk with, walk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk, by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. So you teach these things, things to your children. And I, I love. If you go back to verse two, prior to that, it tells you why you do this. It's so that your children and their children after them may fear the Lord your God as long as you live by keeping all the decrees and commands I give you. So it's remarkable that if we actually every single day know that. I mean, this commandment was given in Deuteronomy, and Jesus reiterates it as a. The great commandment, right? All of the commandments of God, the, the entire law, all those Levitical laws could be summed up in this. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. And if you do that and you teach your children that, that the butterfly effect of that, it's going to go down to generations. I mean, that's remarkable. It starts with you. I have grandkids already, as you mentioned. I did a little presentation for them on Christmas Eve. It had the little PowerPoint, did a presentation and shared a little message. It's funny because the grandkids are three. No, not even two. One. No, two, two, one, one and one under one. So, and then Ezra, who's four. So the two Year olds, like, get it a little bit. But I'm going to do this every year as to why we as Christians celebrate Christmas, right? I'm going to do it every single year. And it's going to be remarkable to see them grow. But I've already done what I could do for my adult kids, but I'm going to continue to pour into them as much as I can until the day I leave planet Earth. And it's remarkable just seeing the way the kids raise their kids. It's like, oh, wow, like we used to do that with you. It's, it's remarkable. So parents, especially fathers, but parents teach your kids. And then I, I mentioned, obviously get in a fellowship, don't forsake that, be around other believers and then just encourage one another. As a body of Christ, we all face discouragement at what time? One time or another. So 1000% find somebody to encourage. Wake up in the morning. That that could be one of your goals for the year. You know, every day you wake up, you text somebody, just, hey, thinking about you this morning, hope you're doing well, whatever, or something like that. I mean, that means the world to people. And the funny thing is, nine times out of 10, when you come out of your prayer closet, you text somebody like that, shoot, I'll say 10 times out of 10, 10. That person's like, oh man, perfect timing. You won't believe what I'm going through all the time. All the time. So build and strengthen those relationships and finally make a difference, right? That, that's ultimately what this is about. Make a difference. Make an impact on planet Earth when you get to heaven. Yes, you want to hear, well done, good and faithful servant, but what, what's the, the ripple effect going to be? What's the carry on from you doing what you are called to do here on planet Earth? So help the needy. Plenty of scriptures about helping the needy find. And listen, you can find somebody who's in need real, real easy. Even if it, it's you going out and finding them on the streets. Find them. Just be, be willing to give. Know it's great. As many people as we, we've blessed with food or money, whatever, know what's most impactful is when you actually, you know, you put your hand on their shoulder, give them a hug and you pray for them. I mean, that's, that's remarkable. That's remarkable. And then stand for justice and truth, right? This is how we as believers can make a difference in this world. And I, I believe that's what you know, again, the report that Christians didn't show up to the polls this year, but we as Christians more than anybody, should stand up for justice and truth. Micah is 6, Micah 68, one of the minor prophets, speaks about this. But we're the ones to be a voice of biblical values and culture in our society, in our community. We're the ones. So it's not like, no, I'm just going to go to church and then stay out of politics. No, we're the ones who are called to stand for righteousness and truth. And then again, just serve, Serve the community one way or another.
Other.
Serve. Serve that. There's no greater way of growing and deepening your relationship with the Lord, just simply serving others. That's what Jesus did. We want to be more Christ. Like there was nobody on planet Earth and there never will be somebody more sacrificial than Jesus Christ himself. So if we want to be Christlike, all the good things come with it, right? Like, yes, he was beaten, he was tortured, he died on a cross. So, yeah, if we're gonna deny ourselves, ourselves, if we're going to take up our cross, if we're going to be sacrificial, all the good things like, like Jesus, all the joy that he had, all the joy that he brought to others, the supernatural powers that you have, we could actually walk in those powers by way of the Holy Spirit, by flourishing in our spiritual gifts. So that's just a list. I know I went through a lot of scriptures with that, but for me, that is the foundation as a Christian. And then it's like, okay, if I find, if I could check off these boxes. And again, I'm not saying you got to go to the homeless shelter every day or something. If you, God puts on, put the, puts that on your heart, then by all means, then, then do it, be obedient to that. But I think if you could check off these boxes here, and the first one, just that daily reading of the word, praying, fasting, then I think all the other goals that you set for yourself or you and your wife or, or husband, if you're a woman listening to this, your family, all those goals, if you check off these boxes, all the other ones, you're just going to have more inspiration, that inspiration of the Spirit, to be disciplined, to go and get all the others.
Yes, that's good, man. So good. I think that it just reminds me too of, you know, what we're investing into, and it is the eternal treasures, right?
We're.
We're not to, to build up for ourselves treasures on this earth, but treasures in heaven, right? And, and that's what we're doing. When you are investing that, that time, time, the energy, the money, those resources, you are building up those treasures in heaven. And that comes back to. I don't know if I actually fulfilled my full thought on that on, on the judgment day. It's what did you do with what you've been given? Right? And, and that's what we're all going to face. And, and it's like I want to nothing more in my heart and in my heart for you guys is to know that this is going to be a reality for us. That this is going to be a question. What did you do with what I've given you? Did I, I multiply it? Did I double it like the parable of the talents or the, the 10 Minas like it. What did we do with whatever, whatever that, that resource that we have that we've been given? Did we serve wholeheartedly the Lord first storing up for ourselves treasures in heaven or did we do it for treasures here on earth? Because that ultimately is how your life will radically be changed in this year, in 2025. That's, that's when my life radically changed five years ago. Like I was living at as Jesus is my Savior, but not really Lord. And, and I didn't realize that one can't come without the other. And, and it's like when we see reference of that it's in scripture, it says Jesus as Lord and Savior of our life. And if he is your Lord, that is what that is is, is when life becomes really freaking exciting. I can promise you that right? It ain't going to get easier. I, I, I will promise you that too. And that that's, it's not a, it's a terrible sales pitch to just living this life but I promise you it is worth it. Because what we're doing here and now, the success, the fame, the riches, the glory, whatever we're trying to get for ourselves, that is rooted in, in pride and ego and, and ultimately that. I mean if we look back to just the root of all sin, that's what most of it all boils down to. And when we can when can surrender that, submit that to the Lord, pick up our cross to serve him on the daily. That's when life gets un stinking believable and, and so much fun and, and back to just you can't do that alone. It's, there's importance of, of and we love you guys being all a part of this. But you need community, you need, you need that local community to, to be able to glean from and to pour into and I would hope that that that would be one of your goals here into 2025 as well is finding that local community, find your tribe, run the race with and we would love for you to be a part of some of the events and things that we're going to be doing here in, throughout 2025 with the King's Council. So once again go to join kingscouncil.com download that worksheet and put it into practice and, and do it individually, do it with your spouse, come together and, and share with each other and start to put those inputs into practice and the outputs will actually show up if you're focusing on the input, not the output. Right. Focus on what I can control today. And ultimately is that leading me to, is it getting me closer from the vision, the ultimate goal that we're putting in place or further away? Join kingscouncil.com and we're going to talk next week. We're going to, we're going to kind of go even off of this even more and talk about how do we continue to do this, how do we pursue this wholeheartedly and persevere. How do we endure the things that that God has placed on our heart. So come back with us next week and it's not necessarily a two parter but we're gonna, we're gonna have it stack. We're gonna create these, these things for you to continue to create in your own life. So that all being said, I hate to say it but I will see you guys next year.
