In this bonus episode of the "This Moved Me" podcast, host Sally Koering Zimney promotes her new Speaking Story Course on MoversU. She opens by sharing her nervous‑excited feeling about the cart being open and explains why storytelling is a critical leadership tool for entrepreneurs, authors, coaches, CEOs, and other leaders. Sally describes storytelling as both an art and a science, noting that while formulas and frameworks exist, authentic personal voice is essential. She outlines the four‑week course format: live Tuesday sessions (recorded and posted within 24 hours), Friday live Facebook Q&A sessions, and a private Facebook group where daily prompts and peer interaction occur. The course aims to help participants craft a clear, compelling story that amplifies their ideas and builds confidence to present. Sally announces the launch price of $97, stresses limited‑time availability (cart closes October 30), and urges listeners to enroll immediately via speakingstory.com. The episode blends promotional messaging with personal enthusiasm and a brief reflection on the emotional experience of launching the course.

With me, your host, Sally Koering Zimney, together with some fabulous guests, we will have a casual conversation about the art of public speaking, because a good talk can move the world, and it'll be fun. Yeah, I would think making alien cows meaningful, that's not a small task. I love your giggle. Wow. Oh my gosh, just waiting for everybody to figure out the alphabet. Hey, boogers, welcome back. We have a little bonus episode for you Today highlighting the Speaking Story course because the cart is open, the cart is open. This is really exciting because the cart is open. If you've been listening to me, you know that I sing when I'm nervous, so I've been doing a lot of singing lately. I'm nervous and excited, and my 13-year-old for years has called that feeling nervouscited, and I feel like that's perfect. That is exactly right. I'm feeling really nervouscited. Because I'm inviting you in, and I hope that you'll come join me. I really do, because I'm really excited about what we've got going on over at the Speaking Story Course on MoversU. And so I just want to do a really quick show today highlighting what you can find on the Speaking Story Course. So here's the deal. One of the reasons people hire me as a presentation coach is to help them become better storytellers because they understand in, in all these different contexts, in business, in, uh, as an entrepreneur, as an author, as a fellow coach, as somebody on a team, as a CEO, that story is how people connect and engage with our ideas. And so I have been in the storytelling coaching business for many, many years. I started out working for an organization that just, you know, the core of our speaking was storytelling and really using storytelling as our main strategy and technique for bringing young people and teenagers and youth into these big ideas and concepts. So I, I'm a huge believer and them as the number one strategy and the number one approach that we as leaders need to utilize because they're so incredibly powerful. But it isn't easy. It isn't easy to tell a fantastic memorable story that can slow down time and bring people in. It's, it is a craft and it is a skill. And we can learn these skills. I have seen people go from really terrible storytellers to really powerful, beautiful, inspiring storytellers. Like, it can be done. You know this if you Google how to tell a story or storytelling resources or anything like that. There's a ton, there's a ton out there because there's there are some formulas, there's some pathways that are super helpful for people, and I use a lot of those. I think they're really— they give us a great starting point. Storytelling is also incredibly personal. Your story, the way you tell it, what you have to say, your unique perspective and point of view, like, that has to be crystal clear and it has to feel very right and true and personal to you. And that is one of the challenges of this work because it is an art and a science. We can't just bring the science. We've got to bring the art because you can feel that as an audience member when they're scientifically correct, but it's missing that more nuanced feel. So in the Speaking Story Course, we are, we are going to bring the science, but then we're going to say, okay, what does that mean for you? And here are some really important questions that you need to answer to take the formula and the science and make it applicable for your context, your situation, your audience, your voice, your point of view. And that's what I'm hoping is going to be so powerful about this, that at the end of this course you will have a clarified story that's going to amplify your idea and connect your idea to this audience so that the audience can care about what you're talking about, to bring them in. And also, and this is really, really important, you're going to feel more ready to get up and share it. So here's kind of the nitty-gritty of it. It's 4 weeks of live sessions. We're gonna do them on Tuesday starting on the 30th, and then within 24 hours, a video of that session will be over on Movers U so that if you can't catch us live, you can always watch the video, or you can rewatch it if you want to go back and review something. On Fridays, we will do a live Q&A over on Facebook to personalize the lessons and to help you get over any roadblocks that you're experiencing in the process of it, and I'm so excited for that part because I love that side of it. I love the coaching side of it. What are you struggling with? How can I help you in particular get to the next place of what you're doing? And then of course we are, as part of this Facebook piece, we've got a private Facebook group that's just for people who have been in a Movers U course. And that's where I want you guys to dive in. Every day I'm gonna be posting some prompts, some questions. We're going to like geek out on all things TOCS. And my hope is that it becomes another resource for you in your tool belt to helping you become a more moving speaker, like truly become a mover. And so that's all really pretty. I'm so jazzed about it because then I get to learn from you too. And you can share guidance and insight with each other. It's not just me sharing with you, but you sharing with each other. Oh my gosh. I love that. So right now, in this first phase of the Speaking Story course, I'm offering all of this for $97, which I think is a steal. And so if you are thinking about this right now, you've got to jump in and do this, because I promise you, the next time I do this, which will be early in 2019, it's gonna be more. So now's the time, jump in and get it at this price. Price because it should probably— I should probably be charging a lot more for this. I don't know, somebody said $97 and that number kind of felt right. That's what I'm doing. I've got a lot of strategy here, you guys. Oh my gosh. The cart is open. It opens today. It's closing early morning on October 30th, so do not wait. Go for it now. You're gonna go to speakingstory.com. I'm gonna go check on it right now. Oh my gosh. I'm nervous, I'm excited, I'm happy, I'm scared, I'm nervouscited. There we go, we came back all the way around to the beginning. I'm nervouscited. Can't wait. Thanks guys, see you next week. This moved me. What is moving you?
