How having cold showers made me more disciplined. If you're a more disciplined person, you can endure more things in life, which means in the long term you will have a better quality of life. Before starting cold showers, I was constantly avoiding pain and discomfort. Anything that felt remotely uncomfortable, I would find a way to avoid it. This led to me being lazy, soft, and easily beaten by life. The easiest way to become more disciplined is to force yourself to do something you really don't want to do and keep doing it. And let's be honest, who the hell enjoys cold showers? So I woke up every single morning and had a cold shower. I started on 10 seconds, and over the coming months I worked my way to 3 minutes. It was very hard at first, but over time my brain became more accustomed to being uncomfortable. This led to me completing more things, being more consistent, and not giving up as easily. Fast forward to today, and my brain actually enjoys being in elements of discomfort because it associates it with growth and positive new changes in my life. Moral of the story: if you want to be more disciplined, try cold showers.
