Transform Your Life and Investments with the 90-Day Goal Sheet

Sarah Sullivan (founder of Sugo Capital) presents a short YouTube talk about using a simple 90-day goal sheet to accelerate personal and investment progress. She challenges investors to pick three 90-day goals (bigger, scarier, or removing roadblocks), shares her own three goals (launch a customizable fund, open a solo 401(k) and do a Roth conversion, and onboard an additional due-diligence team member), and walks through how to fill the tracker columns (What, When with milestones, Why, Who, Sacrifice, Reward/Result). She invites viewers to weekly open office hours (Tuesdays, 1pm Pacific) to review goals with the Sugo community.

Hi, Sugo Capital investors. This is Sarah Sullivan, founder of Sugo Capital and 90 day plans. We all do them at work, right? We do them in a corporate environment. Do we do them for ourselves? Do we do them for our investment strategy? When I started doing them for myself and not for my boss, that's when things completely changed in my life. So what I'd like to challenge or encourage you all to do is to pick three things that you could do in the next 90 days that will either be bigger than you've ever done before, scarier than you've ever done before, or remove a roadblock to getting you closer to your financial, your investment, your financial freedom goals. And it's really, really super effective. In our three day challenge, we go through three days and you know, we talk about how to really hone in on your goals and how to set this up and hone in. Hundreds of investors have done this and told me how impactful it is. So I'll share with you mine. I'll do first a high level and then a deep dive. Okay, so high level. I'm launching a new fund and the goal of the new fund is to relieve a lot of the pain that our investors have told me. They said, okay, we invest 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 times with you, and each time we have to sign a new PPM. Each one we get a new K1. We're in a different system, a different portal is just like a hassle. So, so our new fund is a customizable fund. So you sign one doc, one set of docs, you get one K1, and you can invest in all of our offerings for this year and forever going forward. So that's a big deal. It's a big learning curve for me. So I put that on my goals for this year. Another one is I have not opened a solo 401k. We teach about it all the time. And so I'm going to open one of those, I'm going to make an investment and then I'm going to do a Roth conversion. And then another one is in order to scale, we really need someone else besides me to be excellent at due diligence, like take what I do and do it all day long. Right? So today I had three calls in one day with people presenting investment opportunities to me. Okay, so that's three today. So the opportunities that are coming at us, I mean the size that Sugo Capital is now, we're getting a lot of attention. So we have some amazing opportunities. And I just don't have the Time to do all the due diligence myself. So I put that on my goals. So those are my three and I'm going to commit to doing those this quarter. So if you haven't done a 90 day tracker before, take a look at that image. It's really simple, right? Like it's not a huge complicated spreadsheet with KPIs and yada yada. This is something that I think it was 2019 I saw from Donnell Delgado. She's a business coach, life coach. And I thought it was so simple and so easy. So I will now do a more in depth description of that. This is. And if you fill it out yourself, this is how you would do it. So in the what column, choose three things that are bigger than you've ever done before or three things that would be removing roadblocks from you, getting closer to your financial freedom goals, your investment goals, your retirement goals, etc. Okay, in the when column, break it down. Don't be like, oh, okay, 90 days from now I'll have done this. Break it down, set milestones, stagger them if you can. So for instance, you'll see on number three, open Sugo, build your own portfolio fund. I have January 9th, identify the team. I need a new team. This is a new thing I've done. January 24th, have the PPM ready, have the portal ready. January 31st, have a webinar, present it to the investor community, the Sugo community, and roughly one month later, fund and close your first deal within this fund. So, so it's not just okay, at the end of 90 days, this is what I'll have done. Really identify weekly or monthly things you can do to get you closer to that goal. It'll make it much more likely. It's like bite sized pieces you can get done every week, every two weeks, et cetera. Okay, in the why column, really make this as heartfelt as you can and really identify either the strong, strong benefit to you or this strong, strong negative that you're going to avoid. So you can see my examples there in the column. Who this is, who do you need to tell? And so a lot of us, we make goals in our head and we don't tell anyone. A, no one else can hold us accountable that way and B, no one else can help us that way. And D, no one. I mean there's so many things. So you'll see for instance, onboarding an additional due diligence team member, my number one my who is my business partners, internal and external. So internal. I need to let my team know this is new requirement. I need to have a new team member responsible for this. And I need to tell all my existing and my future business partners, here's the process we're going through, here's the person you will work with, et cetera. Now that's kind of straightforward. Looking at number two, you can see my who is my husband, my business partner in the Sugo community. Number three is a cpa, a new cpa, my current attorney, a future attorney, a platform manager. So Sugo community, my marketing team, my current internal and external business partners, there's a lot of people to tell. So it's to have accountability. It's to. To help me is to provide connections that might help me. That's the who column. Now in sacrifice, this is where you would identify either what you will sacrifice or what you won't sacrifice. And I didn't have any what you won't sacrifices this quarter. But in previous quarters, I would say I won't sacrifice time with my daughters, I won't sacrifice sleep. Other times I'll say for 30 days. I will sacrifice sleep for 30 days. I'm getting up at 4:30 in the morning in order to get this darn thing finished, right? So let's see. Lots of times people will sacrifice Netflix time. You know, going out to bars with friends, that's kind of like, oh, okay, that's easy to know. Another one is, and you can see this for my number two, my sacrifices, I'm just going to be okay with being annoyed. I think it's really annoying to consolidate IRA accounts and open accounts and do paperwork and stuff like that. So my sacrifices, I'm just going to be okay with being annoyed in order to get through this thing. Right. Then the last column is reward result. You can put result first. I usually do. But that's saying how do we know what is the result? So where we know we've actually accomplished the thing that we have in the what column, how do we know that we've done it and we've been successful at it. Now lots of times I don't hit the results, and then the next quarter I have to put the what back in and I have to rework it. But in this one you can see, okay, so I have some goals. Let's say, number one, the due diligence team member. So a result is that I will have three new investment opportunities for the SUGO Capital Community for Q1 through Q2, that I will have not been the primary due diligence person form. I will still look through the due diligence. I will still do due diligence, but I won't be the person who did due diligence on everything from beginning to end. I will have you know the final version and I'll look at that. And then there's reward. And a lot of people forget this and I do too. Reward is so important because it tells our brains we are successful. It tells our brains we set goals and we reach our goals. It tells our brains that we know how to succeed. It's just so important. It's super, super important. So you can see for here I have various rewards once I've hit my results. So one of them is a two week rock climbing trip to Joshua Tree with my family. One is a nice dinner out to celebrate the accomplishment. One is to attend a three day acrobatics festival. I love athletics and circus arts in case you couldn't tell. So I hope this helped you kind of look into 2025 and just pick three things that you can do that get you closer and closer to your retirement goals. Get you closer and closer to your passive income goals. And if you have any questions and you want me to review your goals in a group setting or you want feedback from other investors in the Sugo Capital community, click the link in this P.S. it's a link to our open office hours.
