This is a YouTube video titled "Buffalo Hump Reduction" (posted March 9, 2017) that presents an in-office cosmetic procedure demonstration. Two speakers (clinicians or clinician and assistant) narrate a step-by-step cervical dorsal fat pad ("buffalo hump") reduction using local anesthesia, laser-assisted fat disruption and liposuction, describe intraoperative details and show before/after results and post‑op care instructions.
All right, good morning.
Guess who?
So it's Wednesday and today we're doing a buffalo hump, which is all this area. We're gonna be sculpting it nice and smooth.
So this is a side view here.
She's a profile. You can see this is what we want to take down and it's going down. All right, so now obviously it's the back view here. It's not the most dramatic view, but this whole section is gonna be addressed today. We're gonna work on shrinking that in and make one little tiny—
Head's here, legs down here. This is the hump. This is what we're going to be taking out. I'm going to make one little small tiny opening right here.
We've already numbed it.
So now we're starting to numb. I'm just sliding around in this fat that we want to take out. Okay, she feels a little pinchiness, but very tolerable. Numb here. We filled this up a lot. All right, she feels tight, but it's important because you want to expand that layer so we can get everything here. So we're going to now work on lasering. So now's the lasering part. This essentially breaks up all this fibrofatty tissue, gets it all loosened up so then I can go in there and sculpt it out. So lasering here, I like to do this for a while. It gets everything really ready for removal. If you come in close, you can see this is fluid we put in, but there's also fat just starting to come out already. Right here, this is our first approach now to taking out the fat. So you're going to see it's going to start going into the canister over here. So we are finishing up this buffalo hump. It's come down really nicely. I'm going to show you here in just a second. So we've taken everything here. It's really nice, and you can see how this is now in. It used to be out. It looks really good. I'm super happy. Now you can see it from another angle. Her head is here. This has really come in nicely, and it's even swollen, so it's going to come down even more.
Oh.
See all the fat globules all kind of splattered across the inside of the canister? You can see this whole chunk here, nice big pancake, that is gone.
As you see, we just finished a buffalo hump reduction, also known as a cervical dorsal fat pad. It's very common, lots of people have it, no particular reason, usually genetic. It can be easily taken down just as you saw in the office under local anesthesia with a little light sedation. When we're all done, we put a bunch of padding here, you're put in a garment, you have to wear it for 2 days. It's a little messy but very tolerable. After a couple days, you take it off, you shower, you clean yourself. We do like for you to put a garment back on and have some padding there for about a week to 2 weeks. Usually really user-friendly, it's underneath your clothing. Really no downtime. A couple days of just kind of maybe staying home resting, but if you need to get out and do things, you totally can. Okay, before and after results, usually you see the after photos are at about 3 months because it takes some time for it to get there, but You don't have to wait that long to enjoy it. It's pretty much an instantaneous reduction. Okay, thanks for watching.
