The Scott Adams School - 08/03/26 Monday The HOME TEAM. DSA. Spokane Fires. and more.

In this live episode of The Scott Adams School, host Scott Adams opens with the group’s "simultaneous sip" ritual and a light‑hearted round of favorite days of the week. The conversation then moves through several segments: a personal weekend recap, a harrowing update on the Spokane, Washington wildfires (including acreage burned, containment status, and evacuation numbers), and a discussion on the power of prayer and positive thinking for healing, featuring Victor Davis Hanson’s recent health update and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s supportive comment. The show pivots to political commentary, playing clips from Bill Maher that criticize the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and their alleged communist agenda, followed by a discussion of a New York grocery‑distribution program that requires ID verification, and a critique of Joe Manchin and the Democratic Party’s perceived drift toward socialism. A heated exchange follows a clip of Dana Bash interviewing RFK Jr. about COVID‑19 media coverage, with participants denouncing perceived media malpractice and government overreach. The episode then promotes a government‑backed “Freedom Haulers” program that recruits veterans as truck drivers, debating its merits and potential impact on illegal‑immigrant drivers. The show closes with a brief “low‑self‑esteem is a virus” monologue, casual chat, and farewells. Throughout, the tone shifts from conversational and humorous to earnest, critical, and occasionally polemical.

Yes, tell us, tell us, tell us. We want to know everything.
It's the Kirkland version of that.
Yeah.
Oh, version of what?
Celsius, the energy drink.
Oh, good morning! Good Monday morning. So today I learned it's August 3rd. No, I'm kidding. I know it's August 3rd. Good morning everyone, welcome in!
Hey, it's Monday!
I'm so excited.
Good morning!
Oh my God, Marcella, really?
I love Mondays and Thursdays.
Okay. I like Tuesdays and Fridays. Mm-hmm. Owen, you want to take Wednesday, Saturday?
Most people would not say that Monday is their favorite day of the week, I think. But, um, yep.
All right, you guys, drop your favorite day of the week. Mine is actually Tuesday, but go ahead, drop your favorite day of the week in the chat while everybody comes in. Okay, I see that we have YouTube kicking kicking in. Good morning, YouTube and Rumble. Rumble, you guys are amazing over there on Rumble and Spotify, X, and Locals. Okay, I think we're, are we just about ready for the sip? I need a Monday sip like nobody's business. Okay, let's do it.
And in order to prep yourself to enjoy this week, all you need is a cup or mug or a glass, a tank or chalice or stein, a canteen, jug or flask, a vessel of any kind. Fill it with your favorite liquid. I like coffee. And join me now for the unparalleled pleasure of the dopamine hit of the day, the thing that makes everything better. It's called the simultaneous sip, and it happens right now.
Go!
Ah, delightful.
That was extra delightful. I have to say my coffee is extra delightful today, probably because of all of you guys. So welcome in. Owen, how was your weekend?
It was great. We had a good afterparty and Sunday simultaneous sip and subscriber spaces. So it was a full range of things that I do with my friends on X. And, um, otherwise we did some work around the house and it was, it was good.
Doing the work around the house thing. That's good. I tuned in to hear somebody saying that he really is enjoying the Scott Adams School. He's so happy it's still going, and that he even, even likes Erica. It was so cute. It made my day. He's like, even Erica? Owen goes, even Erica? He's like, yeah, I don't always agree with her opinions, but she really sticks to to her opinions. I'm like, let's go, Erica. Marcella, how was your weekend?
It was good. It wasn't long enough, you know, but I, I got a lot of rest. I watched certain things. I, I did some hiking in the, in the area because it's colder up in the mountains, so that was good. No, no, no rattlesnakes and no bear hunting me down. It's kind of—
does that normally happen?
As far as you know, there's like, um, allegedly California has like this big old rattlesnake overpopulation now. So I was like, do I hear a rattle?
Yeah, right, right, right. All right, you got to be careful, Marcella. You know, stay alive out there.
And they did go to In-N-Out, you guys, on Friday.
Oh, but not in, um, But not, not on Saturday in Idaho.
So yeah, like, the never— I'm just like, oh wow, like, I'm so proud of the guy that— of the two guys that—
well, tell them what happened, Marcella. Not everybody knows.
Not everybody knows. So in Idaho Falls, um, what is it, um, in Idaho, what is it, Twin Falls, or—
it's in Idaho. I didn't—
in Idaho. There was a new In-N-Out that opened up in July, the end of July, like 8 days before, and there was a shooting near it, and 3 people died and several were injured, about 7 or 8 were injured. And they alleged that the shooter killed himself, but there were 2 different people that tried to stop him. One was captured on video trying to stop the shooter. So, and it brought memories back. I was like, I was just there on Friday. I was just like, oh my God, what would I have done? I would have ran down with my— I was with my dog, so I was like, oh my gosh.
But Marcela, you were in California.
I know, but California crazies, they can get dangerous.
No, it's true. So yeah, so there was like an active shooter and then a good guy with a gun started shooting at him. And some are saying that it led the shooter to then take his own life. But anyway, it's just crazy.
Actually, two good guys with guns. The one was captured on video. The other one was a, like, I don't know, a former cop or a cop or something. And he actually was shooting too.
Oh, okay.
So, all right, so it's, uh, Second Amendment.
Yay, Second Amendment!
All right, so that was my weekend.
All right, how was your weekend? My weekend was, um, it was great, it was great. I'm not gonna get into it, it was great, but, um, all was good. So you guys, I was thinking, should we start the show off with the national anthem from now on? Because I feel very inspired The account @notthebee posted this and it just gave me the idea. So did you know there's the first ever women's national baseball game just happened and the national anthem was sung? And listen, please excuse me now because I'm not playing the whole thing. So I don't mean to cut off the national anthem, but you're going to beg me to, but Here's the national anthem.
Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light what so proudly we hail at the twilight's last gleaming, whose broad stripes and bright stars Through the perilous fight, o'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming. And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air, gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. Still there. Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave. Wave. O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
I couldn't stop. I never made it all the way through, and it just kept getting more incredible and more incredible. So should we do that, like, before every show?
Please?
No, please.
Oh my gosh.
Shades of Edith Bunker. Yes. Oh my God, you guys, I don't know what was happening there. I don't know if they were mad at each other. I don't, I don't know what was going on, but that was, that was amazing. Yeah, Rosanne Bars was way better for sure. You guys are so funny in the chat. Oh, I just wanted to—
I can't imagine that they actually even rehearsed that once, right?
I— it almost seems like they were mad at each other at one point because she's like, I'm taking this note, and then she's like, I'm wrapping up the song fast at the end, and then the, the two other chicks were like, uh, we can't compete. I don't know, that was amazing. Oh my gosh. All right. So I had to, I had to see it. You had to see it. You know, I love sharing with you guys. And the other quick little thing I wanted to show you was an update from Victor David Hanson. And I want to know what you guys think after. Hang on.
I don't want to say it's been a privilege of getting sick, but it's been a privilege because I was sick to read. I think I've got about 900 letters I read and they were so nice. And it's really helped me. And I went to one of the doctors this week and he said, "You're not coughing." I said, "No, I'm not coughing." He said, "Well, we're not out of the woods yet, but that's a good sign." And I said, "Well, I have all these people praying for me, so I think it helped." It does. I don't think he believed that, but I believe it and that's what counts.
Amen, brother.
So I was just wondering, you know, I was talking about this with someone this weekend about, you know, the power of faith or prayer or however you want to look at it. So Owen, what do you think? And you guys in the chat, I mean, I think that when you— I think that when you have an— a group of people or just good energy focused your way, that it really can make a difference. I don't know how it does it or why, but I just feel like energy and positive energy that can take over. Do you agree with that, Owen?
Oh yeah, I, I mean, I think the, you know, if you believe in God like I do, then you would have to say he has the power to heal just like Jesus did and all of that. But, and so, you know, any spiritual connection you have would be a potential conduit to that for yourself or for you're praying for other people, and, and lots of people do that. And, um, but even science has shown that that works. The placebo effect is very well documented and it's very powerful. And so if you have a better attitude or you think you're being healed, it is going to be more likely that you would be healed. And there have been lots of unexplained healings that science is like, I don't know, I don't know how this happened, like this never happens, like I don't know what happened here. Your tumor's gone. Like, you know, it's just, and you know, I don't think it's something where like they've figured out how they can replicate it as a procedure. But I think, I certainly think that these things do happen and it makes a difference.
Yeah.
And, and like B. Herm says, it can hurt. Marcela, what do you think?
No, I think it's possible. It also makes you like, if if Victor is now more positive, then he's going to have a more positive mindset, um, you know. So having people pray for you, be there for you, you're not lonely, you, you know, it creates something in your body that helps you heal. I, I do follow, uh, I don't know if you guys know him, Joe Spinoza, and he talks about meditation, how meditation can lead to like Healing, because he, he's, um, he has studies, um, in UCLA and UCSD, and it studied how like somebody can like overcome a cancer by just being positive and healing and all of these things. It's very rare. There's, there's, you know, he calls it the 4-minute mile, which now I guess is 3 minutes from that guy, um, but, but, you know, it's not as common, but it can happen. So it's better to feel more positive than negative.
It's always visualization too. If my mom is listening, when I was sick, she—
Jill Dispenza, I'm sorry.
Oh, okay, gotcha. My mom would tell me to visualize like almost like a Pac-Man game, like the little Pac-Man eating all the germs in my body. Or if I had like a flu, like it's eating the flu and like just picturing it going away and picture healthy cells. And I think any time you can do that, and get your mindset straight is good. So we're so happy to hear that he doesn't have this cough. He's not out of the woods yet, but listen, he's still here with us and he is a national treasure. I, I quite enjoy him. So keep healing, VDH. We're all rooting for you for sure. Lots of people here are praying for you. I saw it in the chat, which is so sweet, you guys. That's really nice that you do that. Um, all right, so last night I was so upset watching these fires in Spokane, Washington. We have family out there and luckily they are okay, but I don't know, I don't know if you guys heard about it or if you saw it, but, um, let's just, uh, you know, the images are unbelievable. Let's take a look. I have a couple of clips here.
Oh my God, dude.
Oh my God.
Oh my God, look at that stuff. Holy shit, dude, look at this house. Oh my God, they're all going, dude. Yeah, fight your shit, dude. You got to fight for your shit, dude. That one house was just— I was caught on some fire, dude.
Oh my God, there's a guy on the roof.
Not with— I know, I couldn't help.
Oh, great kids, man.
Dude, that guy's fighting. Come on now. See that right there?
Oh my—
what is this? Exploding gas lines, maybe?
Yeah, maybe.
God, dude, we're going to go up the street.
Look at that.
What?
I know, dude, it is horrible. This is bad. We're going.
You need to get out of here.
Yeah, we got to go.
Oh, shit.
Hey, thanks. Uh, he's like, yeah, okay. So that was just one little neighborhood. It's thousands and thousands of acres. I'm going to show you the aftermath. I just want to get through the clips and then we'll talk about it.
I mean, imagine like your whole neighborhood's just gone.
And again, that's just like on the ground, but someone did an aerial view, and this is my last clip. Um, it's amazing. And the, you know, I know Joel Pollack, like, thank God his house was spared in the Palisades fire for the most part, but there's got to be like a weird guilt with that when like everybody else's is burned down. And in this aerial view, you really see how It's just hit or miss, but take a look at this. So you can see some houses are perfect, thank God, right? And then the disaster all around. And, um, I know there's been a lot of people flipping out in some of the videos I saw because there was no emergency response anywhere, nobody putting out fires, and, um, I don't know. It's, uh, scary to see. So I just wanted to show the aftermath. Owen and Marcela, were you watching any of this last night?
Yeah, I, I was watching Agenda Free TV, which like did a whole live for hours. But, um, the issue was that it was moving too fast with the wind. Um, there was a lot of helicopters, you know, to drop water down and everything else, but it's just so fast. With so much to kindle. But what really upset me, you guys, is that I don't know if it was the mayor who spoke in, um, I don't know, it was one of the officials saying, oh, you know, it's just things, uh, just leave it behind, it's just things, we just gotta let it burn, or whatever. And I'm like, that's not, uh, I thought Spencer Pratt in my head, I saw his face and all angry and stuff. I was like, that's not That's not the point. It's people's lives, and, and I'm sure the people had pets in those houses, you know. Hopefully everybody got out too.
Yeah. Owen, were you tracking this at all?
I wasn't paying a lot of attention to it just because I had a lot of things going on over the weekend, but it's terri— it's a tragedy and it's terrible. Um, I don't know if they know the cause of these things yet. I'm assuming it probably was mostly lightning strikes and things, but, um, you know, I was kind of wondering if it might have bled down from Canada somehow just because it's on the border, but I think these are independent.
Well, I was going to say, I don't know. I just wanted to give you— I did ask for some quick updates. So the 3 major fires being managed, the Old Trails Fire, more than 3,600 acres burned. The Autumn Lane Fire was 3,300 acres burned, and the Fairview Fire, 900 acres burned. So that's 7,700 acres burned. It was still reported at 0% containment when I checked 20 minutes before we started the show. No fatalities or injuries have been officially confirmed. At least 600 structures, including homes and businesses, have been destroyed. Approximately 60,000 people were ordered to evacuate. Um, so as of this morning, you know, let's hope that there are no fatalities. Um, we'll watch it as the day goes by. But I mean, I just don't know what you do in that case. And this is going to be interesting to see how they manage this fire compared to what's happening in California, which is absolutely nothing. And now in LA, Marcella, it's water main break one after the other, after the other, flooding and leaking and breaking. And so you guys already have an issue with water. So let's see if Boca can come back from this quicker and people can rebuild. It's, it's quite a sight to see.
Yeah, I don't, I don't know what the, you know, environmental restrictions are and how it compares to California. I'm, I'm assuming it's a relatively liberal place, so it might have some of that stuff, but I'm guessing it, no, no place is probably as bad as California as far as that stuff goes. So hopefully they'll be able to rebuild more, more quickly and hopefully they have better insurance conditions for those sorts of things. Yeah, because I know it's really hard to get fire insurance and it's really expensive in California. And I don't know what it's like in Washington, but hopefully they'll be able to recover.
Yes, it says Midaside, when I last looked, 0% containment. So I think it is still burning, but we'll check it out later today. So again, like we said, can prayers help? Can positive thinking help? Let's hope so. And let's definitely focus on these people out there. I mean, everywhere that there's disaster. But my God, this is so devastating and it's such a beautiful part of the country and you just hate to see stuff like this. So let's all definitely send our prayers their way. Red Rock says Spokane is relatively conservative, but the state is crazy. Okay, so that was our official update. From Red Rock. Okay, so you guys, the next topic I wanted to move to— and keep them in your prayers, you guys. Um, so the Democrats, you know, it looked to me— I was trying to figure out how I wanted to talk about the Democratic Socialists of America. Just doesn't even make sense. But it looks to me like they're going to really be losing a lot of their royalty, their, their royal Democrats, like your Bill Mars and your Carvilles and your Joe Manchins. And so I just wanted to play you a couple of clips. Listen to Bill Maher the other night. And I know a lot of you don't love him, but it is important to hear all sides, all parties, all demographics. Let's just hear what Bill Maher is saying on Friday night.
And finally, new rule: Donald Trump has told 1 trillion lies. But when he says the Democratic socialists of America are actually communist, that's not one of them. And it's not hard to prove it, just by quoting the DSA and their candidates. J.D. Vance was on the show and I told him that if the Democratic Party keeps going in the direction of the DSA, my vote was in play. And all I heard all vacation was, oh my God, you're a Republican now. No, that's not what I said. I said in play. And here's why. Because not a week goes by where I don't read about some newly chosen, exciting new face in the Democratic Party. And then when that face opens its mouth, the Communist Manifesto or some other crazy shit comes out. Again, let's just read the quotes. The DSA platform says, "You work as much as you are able and no more than needed." If that was any closer to Karl Marx's dictum, "From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs," they'd be sued for plagiarism. New York Mayor Mondani once tweeted Karl Marx's words exactly. They're not trying to hide it. Their most popular influencer, Hasan Piker, thinks communism is so groovy, he laments the fall of two of the most murderous regimes in history the Soviet Union, and Chairman Mao's China. Mandami's aide, his top aide, Sia Weaver, said, "If you don't believe in the government's sacred right to seize property, it's over," and impoverish the white middle class.
What?
That's a— that's a goal? You know you're supposed to scare people into voting for you, right? One of this new soon-to-be Democratic congresspeople, Darliezia Chevalier, supports seizing all properties from landlords and said, "Seize the means of production." Mondame has said the end goal is seizing the means of production. I think they want to seize the means of production. Now maybe you missed that in school or missed school altogether, but that's communism. Now the coalition within the DSA called the Marxist Unity Group is in ascendance, and I must take them at their word when their words include, "Our commitment is to the long-term struggle for a fully liberated, classless society. In a word, communism." What do they have to do, tweet out, "Elect more communists"? Oh yeah, Sigourney Weaver did that.
Yes.
Good, I'm glad you're shocked. People gotta realize this is going on.
I love it. I mean, you know, Bill Maher is— he's pretty much a moderate Democrat, you know, one of the last holdouts too of being a moderate Democrat. Um, I, I love that he laid it out for people. I don't think people understand what the DSA is about and what their goals are and that it's It's not socialism, it's communism. And the next clip I wanted to play, and then Marcella, I'm going to come to you first, is Mondani's little grocery store project in New York. And listen carefully. I love how when asked, how will you know who's getting these groceries? How will you know they're New Yorkers?
I don't know. Listen, how are you going to keep people from taking advantage of that, you know, that deal, basically? And is there going to be a limit on the number of items that someone can take that are discounted at that level from that essential basket? So our RFP makes very clear that this is a program for New Yorkers to be able to put food on the table, not a program for people to be able to make a quick buck through reselling. I'm going to pass it over to our EDC head, Jean-Pac, to add some additional detail.
Yes, if you look at our RFP for the operator, we are looking to make sure that we target New Yorkers, whether it be a sort of a library card exit, and also we manage who's buying, and that is focused on everyday New Yorkers. So we are mindful of that, and so we're going to make sure that we have all the things in place to make ensure that that does not happen.
Hmm, Marcella, how do they prove someone's from New York? What would they need?
They need an ID. Oh, but isn't it— isn't asking for an ID racist?
Yeah.
Are they being racist?
Are they really going to turn away the homeless people that don't have IDs?
Well, you don't even have a home. How are you supposed to even have an ID?
I don't know.
I don't know.
And then women, how are they supposed to have an ID if most women's Um, what they wear, they don't have pockets.
Oh, is that right? Their yoga pants don't have those pockets?
No pockets.
Oh, okay. But, uh, it's just amazing. Oh, and what do you, you know, like, what are we doing?
Well, I think it's, you know, clearly that for important things like shopping in the communist grocery store, you know, you need ID for that, but not for voting. I mean, that's a totally different thing.
And I like how she plays it off like, you know, library card-esque, like she's trying to make it like nothing much, just a little something something. Um, so I want to thank Vigilant Fox for posting those. So, and Chief Nerd. Um, so, but wait, I'm not done. Okay, let's take a look when you ask Joe Manchin, what do you think about socialism? And by the way, It's all right. I don't want to say it's really mean. I might have to say it after, but Owen, I'm coming to you first after Joe Manchin. Heather, could you ever support a self-described socialist candidate?
No, no way. My God, no.
And even if they had some good ideas, I support the good ideas.
But how could you support some of the crazy stuff they're for? Have you seen their platform? Therefore, just dismantling everything that we know, whether it be, whether it be the structure of government, Congress itself or the Senate they want to get rid of. And then they start talking about all the crazy things. No police, no this, no this, no that. Are you crazy? We want, we want a crime-free area. We have to have police for that. We want a strong defense. We want a strong border. But if Democrats can't say that and they start lining up with the socialist demands about what you are to be a socialist, energy will be gone. There'll be no energy. Okay. We have right now a tremendous amount of energy we're producing and the world depends more on us than ever before. But we can do more.
Um, all right. So, I mean, Joe Manchin obviously is super moderate. Um, but he represents like, I think most people in the country that are still trying to be Democrats, right?
Oh yeah. I mean, I think there, there, I think there is a significant percentage of the Democrat Party that is just like not really aware of what's going on here. You know, a lot of us are all kind of always on X and seeing all this stuff. Stuff and getting it pushed to us with all these extremist things that are happening. But I think that most of the population never sees it because it doesn't go down the, you know, the normal media channels. Like, you don't— they don't really cover a lot of that, and probably on purpose. They don't want people to get upset about it. Um, but I think for anyone who is aware of it, it certainly seems alarming when you hear these things. And, um, you know, I think we should be pushing this. And I know Newt Gingrich says we should be taking advantage of this and talking about all the you know, big government socialism that they're pushing on that side. And it does seem alarming to me that a lot of the, like, more mainstream— or I don't even want to call them mainstream— but the more well-known Democrat leaders seem to be trying to cater to these people. Like, they want to include them and, and be aligned with them, and they're afraid of them for these things. And it— I, I think it's the wrong approach. I think they should be shutting these people out and shutting down. And, um, I think to an extent it has sort of snuck up on them with these primaries, that they weren't expecting any of this to happen. And then all of a sudden establishment candidates are being forced out by these radical DSA candidates, and now they're panicking, I think, and saying, oh, what do we do? How do we, you know, either regain control, or how do we work with these people? And, um, it may be too late for them to totally shut it down because they have kind of a critical mass of support, uh, within the Democrat side, especially with younger people that have been indoctrinated their whole lives to this socialist way of thinking. And so I think they're in trouble. And my hope is that it would mean a lot more Republicans would get elected. But, you know, I'm sure it's probably gonna be some combination of that plus some of these DSA candidates are going to get elected. And we do have a number of races around where you have these radical candidates running. You know, you have things in California, Michigan, Wisconsin where there's kind of toss-up races for some of these things where the left has a really radical candidate running. So I think it's unfortunately probably going to happen more where you're going to have candidates like Mondame that end up getting elected and we're going to have to deal with the consequences.
I fully agree. And Marcella, I mean, it's pretty lame when you have Timu Obama in there, and you've got crying Chuck Schumer and all these other people that are afraid of these loudmouth commies. Um, you know, what are you doing? Like, you're afraid of these people? Like, you have to overpower them and mock them and embarrass them and shame them. Just because they're the loudmouth doesn't mean they have to be the only voice anyone hears. But this is what happens, you know, like, I mean, if you could watch Chuck Schumer from when he first got in to now, and like how he has twisted himself into a pretzel six ways to Sunday, as he likes to say, and has turned into like an adjacent communist now, you know, just to get along. For what? To keep power. Because of what? Blackmail or money? Um, and they're just like, okay, we'll just watch the country slip away. That they're just the biggest bunch of— I can't think of another word for— I don't want to say it, but babies. Um, what do you think about, about what they're doing?
I don't think they're afraid of them. I, I just think they have, um, they, they go with whatever the flow is. It just seems like the type of Democrat politician— not all of them, but there are some that will just do whatever is popular. Um, if you want to do that, I'll say this, you know, in order to get votes and giving free stuff. Like, I think Trump said that he would be the greatest something. Like, a while ago he said, I'll be the greatest communist ever, because it's so easy to be that, because all you need to say is, I'll give you free stuff, come here. You know, it's kind of like high school election, I'll give you free pizza, and vote for me. That's what it basically amounts to. And, and they just want to go with the flow. They don't want to go against it. They don't want to— they don't like conflict, I don't think. And they just are like, well, it'll pass, it's the young people. No, once you go commie, you can't really go back unless you shoot yourself out of it, unfortunately.
So maybe, yeah. Um, I mean, there were So, so many clips I could have pulled in here today. I mean, Nate Friedman's doing God's work on the street. He's like another Nick Shirley interviewing people and taking things to light. I really, I love to do like a Nate Friedman day, a Nick Shirley day. I know everyone's going to say, get them in here, get them in here. But just understand we don't really need to get them in here. I say that because we have so much of their material that we can play, and they're so much more effective if they're out there doing the thing they're doing. So, like, we want them to have their time and rest when they can rest and get out there when they can get out there, and we can promote them right here. Um, and then maybe one day things will calm down and we can ask them to come in. So not everybody needs to come in. I know it would be fun, but it's like, if we were limited on material, I would totally get it. Um, but let me just play— I have one last clip of Bill Maher because, uh, lizard man James Carville is not happy either. So let's Let's take a last listen, and then we're moving on to something else.
Yeah. Carville said, "I'm done. I'm not in that fucking political party." Now, Gavin Newsom disagrees. He says he's good with it because the party is a big tent. Well, you know what else you find in a tent? Clowns. It's so funny. So many liberals shit themselves every time Trump puts gold on something in the Oval Office. It's historic. And the separation of powers isn't? Get your head out of your ass. I would vote for Sarah Palin before this shit.
So I'm just saying, I don't think he's voting Democrat this go-round because I can't imagine a pivot big enough to persuade him to do so. Owen, um, I, I'm really, I'm really loving this Bill Maher go-round. I, I'm enjoying that he's getting his voice out there.
I think This is a symptom in my mind of the lack of bench that the Democrats had. They just had no good candidates, you know. They didn't have anybody strong that could take charge of the party. They, they left it in the hands of Kamala, who has done nothing since losing. And, you know, they don't really have a second, like, they don't really— I mean, who's next, Buttigieg? Like, there's nobody that would be appealing to the country to lead that. Hakeem Jeffries is not doing it. Like, it just— they don't have anybody strong. And I think the the DSA has kind of filled this void or this vacuum to say, hey, we can, you know, get people riled up and get people excited and get, you know, try and talk to people's issues. Um, because unfortunately, you know, a lot of people are suffering. They're, they're having a hard time with affordability. They're thinking they are never going to achieve the American dream. And so that's when socialism, communism sounds good to people because you start thinking, well, if the system isn't going to take care of me or give me the opportunities to achieve what they said I would be able to achieve, then 'Maybe I should try this other system.' And, and, you know, I think unfortunately it's a lot of people who just don't know the history and don't understand that it delivers the exact opposite of what you're expecting. And it ends up with an authoritarian state where you lose all your individual rights, you lose all your freedoms, and probably millions of people end up dying. And then you end up with a tyrant running things for a while until it's eventually overthrown. But like it, it's a horrible outcome and it doesn't deliver anything that these people are imagining it's gonna deliver. I mean, they seem to be thinking it's just, oh, I'm gonna get my free stuff, I'm gonna get a house, I'm gonna get free healthcare, I'm gonna get all this stuff. And they just don't understand that, that, that would never happen. And it would just be that they would dismantle everything and we would end up with chaos.
Mm-hmm. I was listening to Michael Malice, friend of the show, interview Sour Patch Lids. She, Lydia, she used to be on Tim Pool years ago, but you know, she said something and I was like, you know, And maybe there is a lot of truth to that too. Like, the younger people have never had to go through any hardships that socialism or communism would bring. They never really had to go through war, famine. They always have an abundance of everything they need. They don't understand what it means to go without. We live in a society where everything's push-button given to you. So it all sounds like good to go. But have they had any real struggles? Maybe not. So I think it could be some of that too. And then of course, you want to be in the in-crowd in your colleges and your social circles. And if that's the loudest voice you see screaming, you're like, shoot, I better join them and, you know, not be the outcast. Do you think there's any credibility to that, Marcella? Because it's a lot of young people.
For sure. There's credibility to that. But I would say, what comes— the chicken or the egg, what comes first? You know, I really think it's the indoctrination of the schools since you're in elementary, teaching you to share. Marcelo, why aren't you sharing?
And you're like, you want to be like, it's mine. And they're like, you can't say it's yours. You're like, but I built it.
No, it's the property of the proletariat. How dare you? I was like, you know, they're teaching Animal Farm, they're teaching 1984, but they're teaching in a different, different light. So years and years of education in that light, and then talking to you about how your parents might be wrong and all these things, and, you know, kids rebel and all sorts of things, and it leads to that. And, and, you know, at the end of the day, you don't have to live through it to know that it doesn't work. I mean, you have a lot of examples. For example, Cuba just yesterday, it's, you know, it's completely plummeted into darkness because now it doesn't have that power. Because guess what? You can— as when communism starts, you have the rich, you have products that you can give free out to people, but eventually you won't have anything left, you know. Um, wealth doesn't grow on a— in a bank. It grows by work and all sorts of trade and all that thing. So they don't understand how They think, oh, he's rich, therefore I must take from him. No, he's rich because he's created that, and that's how he got that wealth. So eventually it gets, um, because a lot of people are saying that the supermarkets that he, uh, that Mandami is putting, um, on will work. Yeah, they might work because they're paid by $7 million of taxpayer money, but that taxpayer money will run out. If you have this running forever and you have a democratic— which is now you see Venezuela, now you see Cuba. I don't know, do you think that they really have to live through it to know the truth? I mean, no other generation has had to do that.
So yeah, I— maybe they're just so far removed from the generations that did. I don't know, like we had our grandparents telling us things and they don't. So I, I don't know. I mean, yeah, we should talk to our kids more about the reality. Like, not everything has to be rainbows and sunshine, which I think is a problem. Um, and also, I was just going to tell you something about that. Anyway, I lost my train of thought. But, um, you know, we'll see, we'll see what shakes out. But the schools definitely freak me out. And someone brought up the teachers unions in the chat. Yeah, Randi Weingarten's a problem. She's a big, big problem. Like, why is she so political? And by the way, why is she still there? Like, why does she have this, like, eternal position? I mean, she's been in Democrat politics way before she got into the teachers union. So you guys should know, she's, she's been around since, like, the '70s as a political figure. Um, it's very strange to me, and I would love to see someone do, like, one of those really good Mike Cernovich deep dives into Randy Winegarden. We need a Candace Owens deep dive into Randy Winegarden so she learns her whole genealogy. I'd love to know. So if you know, you know. Anyway, so I'm going to move on from there, but I cannot not play this clip because I feel like RFKJ is the last based member of this administration right now when he went on with Dana Bash. Oh, this was so good. I mean, uh, she's so annoying. Like, watch this woman's true colors come out, and the fact that she wants to pretend she's any kind of honest broker is hilarious. So let's take a look, and then Owen, you're going to respond first. Here we go.
Okay, do you want to talk about— you want to talk about assertions that you can't support? I'll get there in a second. Let me just say for the record that I am not saying that the entire way that the COVID reaction was accurate. It was a scary time and people made mistakes.
Absolutely nothing— You were scaring people.
Why are you saying that?
Because that was the job of CNN.
Okay, okay, stop.
It was to put the sirens up about how many people are dying.
We were trying to be— We were listening to the leaders in this country, including the president who had a daily press conference explaining what was going on and trying to listen.
Were you listening?
I want to talk to me.
Were you reading the measles?
The measles cases in the US just reached a 35-year high. The second, uh—
that was the wrong clip. Shoot. Owen, you saw the original clip, right? I'm gonna go grab it while you talk if you can do it.
Yeah, well, I mean, I think the whole thing was just, um, it was great the way he shut her down and called her out. I think it's just You know, she's disgusting and not willing to take any accountability for what CNN did. I mean, all of us saw it every day. You'd have the, here's the death count, and they would talk about how it's all Trump's fault and how Trump is causing all these people to die. And they were, they were scaring people. They were just telling people, you know, this is a horrible disease. You're all going to die. You got to shut down. You got to stay home. You got to mask. You got to vaccinate. You got to do all these things. They did absolutely nothing to calm people down. Scott did, you know, 100 times as much to help calm people down. And I think it was all about the response, all about the reaction. I'm not disputing or denying that there was a serious, you know, disease out there that did kill a lot of people. But, and I frankly hold Fauci responsible for a lot of that. I think at the same time, when you look back at it after all of this, it was essentially, especially later on, no different than a flu. And yet they treated it like the whole world was coming to an end. And yeah, we needed to treat it that way, like it was an end of the world sort of scenario. And people like Dana Bash played a big role in that, and they, they did play their role the way the government wanted them to. And she kind of admitted it a little bit. She's like, well, I was listening to the leaders, I was listening to the, you know, but She was basically just saying, I know my job, I'm going to go do it and I'm going to scare people and try and get them to do what the government wants them to do.
And how about when he started talking? She's like, stop, just stop. I'm like, oh my God, are you kidding me right now? But I think this is the right clip. Pray for me that this is it.
But yeah, you were saying you were part of the problem. No, I wasn't.
Yeah, there was absolute press malpractice. You weren't allowing your—
Mr. Secretary, your job, your job.
My job is a fierce skepticism toward authority. And you weren't doing that. You were beating on people who were dissenting.
No. Okay. Are you going to— you want to sit here and attack me, or do you want to have conversations about journalism? I'm not attacking you. I'm asking questions about how to prevent the next pandemic. That's what I'm trying to do. But I also don't want to use this interview to allow you to say things that aren't entirely true.
But, oh, it's still the wrong clip, but Owen gave you that. I mean, oh my God, this interview is going to be legendary. I tried, guys, I tried. Um, so Marcella, I mean, we can't— you guys, you can't— I don't want to say hate, I'll say hate for me, but you cannot dislike these people enough. And the fact that she can sit there and be like, yeah, we had a death tracker going, we lied, we just did whatever we were told nothing made sense, and she's gonna sit there and like tell him to pipe down and that she did a good job.
It's clear that they didn't want any accountability for any of that. They just don't want to— they don't want to call out themselves. They don't want to even say that they made mistakes. Even then, even when she said earlier that mistakes were made, it was like it wasn't that she made any mistakes, it was other people made mistakes. Like, it's disgusting. Sorry, go ahead, Marcelo.
Go ahead, Marcelo.
Yeah, I mean, it— I guess it depends on what, um, RFK Jr. wanted to do in that interview, because people will never usually admit they were wrong if you're like telling them it was your fault. Um, but I think it's good that he's, he's letting them know, I know who you are, I know what you caused, um, and I know where it went. But most of the time when you do say that to people, they will not go, oh yeah, I was wrong. You know, it's hard for people to admit to these things. You know, um, but it, it happened and they did wrong. So now they should admit to it, um, as a channel, you know, the fact that they did all these things. But they will— there was, um, I, I saw somewhere a report about how, you know, the Fauci diary came out, uh, the notes or something, and a lot of these major networks did not report on it because they don't want to report on this, these, these things that, that Fauci said during that time because they don't want to admit to it. You know, it is what it is. I'm— I, I liked his energy. I liked the fact that he wasn't going to, uh, just let her, you know, BS people.
You know what I don't like is that He clearly, you know, has that spasmodic dysphonia that he's working on. It is getting better, but I don't like when people overpower him like that vocally because they know it's hard for him to— like, like, just, you don't have to talk over him. Let him talk. And, you know, she just was like so emotionally invested that she like was personally feeling attacked, you know, like, shut up and let him talk. I stand that. Plus I can't stand her and whatever. But, um, all right, so also I don't think he was attacking her.
I think he was attacking the channel. I mean, literally, Dana Bash is not all of CNN.
So I think she is, but she thinks she is, I guess. Yeah, I just don't like that. But, um, all right, so also I was listening to a Mike Rowe podcast this morning and he had on a doctor who was saying, you know, remember the death counter for COVID? And he said, you know, here's the thing, that was half of the amount of people that die from heart disease as like— so like double it. And that's what heart disease deaths were and always are. And he's like, so it's just amazing, like what people want to highlight, what kind of fear they want to give you. But they were like, if you had like the heart disease tracker up there, you'd be like, Holy cow. Like, we gotta get our shit together.
So, and don't, and don't forget that they shut down all the hospitals and they were laying off doctors and nurses and people because they weren't allowing any of the normal procedures for things like heart disease. So who knows how much worse a lot of those things got because people weren't going to their checkups or going to their procedures. Um, and they were just ignoring all that. They were just saying everything else stops and we're only gonna focus on this one thing. And they were on one hand saying the hospitals are gonna be overwhelmed. And on the other hand, the hospitals were like going bankrupt. Stopped because they didn't have enough money coming in. It was just like, right, weird time.
Yeah, it was a weird time. It still is.
People that died of cancer because they weren't able— like, possibly they would have died eventually, but it was so fast. His cancer went by so fast because, um, I asked him, and like, this is a judge that I knew, and he couldn't get treatment, um, because they told him to treat at home. I was like, you cannot treat at home this. And they're like, he can't go to the hospital. He couldn't go check to, you know, a lot of people were like that. They were unable either to check whether they had cancer or to treat their cancer.
So yeah, I had a friend who got diagnosed with an incurable cancer during COVID And, you know, they, they were just like, just don't get COVID and blah, blah, blah. And they put so much fear in her on top of the fact that she was going to die. And so the last year of her life, she saw none of us. And she was just like alone. She was with a family member, but none of us could go see her because she was like, I can't— you know, they were like, don't get sick. And my immune system— and it was like, you're going to die. And now, like, we can't even see you in your last year. And, you know, we saw her the day before she died, basically to say goodbye. And I was just like, this is such a sick, sick time. And also, she never wanted the COVID vaccine. She just didn't want it. And like, they made her get the COVID vaccine. It's like, leave her alone. Like, you know, let people have some say in their life. But they did it. I could tell you, I could tell you 15 stories like that of people I know that were where I had like a very like firsthand personal experience with at least 15 people who went through something completely tremendous during COVID And some died and some were very ill. Um, and I mean, we can never ever let this happen again.
And people lost their businesses, people lost their jobs, people had their whole lives ruined by this. And, you know, I, I do want to hold people like Fauci and Dana Bash accountable for the roles they played in this, but I do think it was somewhat of a failure of all of us. I posted a story with somebody's opinion about that, but they were telling their story about how lost all their businesses and, you know, it was just their whole life was just ruined by this. And, you know, they were asking the question like, is anyone going to ever say they were sorry for any of this?
Like, I would love to hear it.
And, and, you know, and, and they pointed out, they're like, you know, they, they said like, you know, yes, Fauci is, you know, responsible for some of this, but it really was a failure of the whole country. Like, you know, people complied, people just went along with it, people didn't stand up to it and say we're not going to do all this. And so I think that hopefully will be the lesson we'll learn, is that we can't do this again. We can't go down the same path again. We can't let them scare us into compliance and just, you know, go along with whatever they say, because clearly they don't really know the science. They don't really follow the science. They just have their own agenda, and we can't trust them. We can't trust what they're telling us. I wish we could, um, and I understand there may be a scenario in the future where there is some you know, really bad virus that's like almost 100% fatality rate stuff, then maybe that is a different scenario. But, um, I, you know, I think even in that scenario, I don't— I wouldn't trust the government to have us go down the right path.
I wouldn't trust the government for anything ever again. I don't trust my doctors. I don't trust— I mean, I have a low trust level anyway for people, but I mean, it's so much worse now. And like I'm looking at everybody's comments and seeing, you know, the different things that happened to you guys or your friends. And yeah, another very close friend who was in that same friend circle, they owned a very prosperous restaurant for years and years and years. Gone, you know, and it's just like, oh, well, that's just gone now, you know. So no, so many businesses. And I have to say, there was so much ingenuity also amongst the local communities. I mean, people got very creative about like how we can get around this and get around that. And then outdoor dining became huge everywhere. So we have a lot more outdoor dining now where I live, which is nice. You know, restaurants that were shuttered, they were just like, listen, we'll sell stuff that we have here. We have like cases of toilet paper and paper towels and who needs a bottle of wine? And they were just like, you know, order it here on Facebook and drive up and pick it up. And I was like, you know what? I do like the ingenuity part of it. But man, oh man, never again. I'm going to pivot and I just want to quick do this story. We only have 5 minutes and it's about the idea of getting rid of these illegal immigrant truck drivers that are killing people all over the country and having freedom haulers, which are our veterans who have already driven equipment everywhere and they know how to drive big things and do things. And how about they become our next group of haulers. So here's the ad that, um, uh, Secretary Duffy— I almost forgot what his name was, sorry— Secretary Duffy, uh, of Transportation put out. And I, I just love this. So this goes again with our like micro thoughts. So I want to play this ad for you guys. And if you know someone in the military or you are yourself, and this is a great idea. So let's take a listen.
Are you a veteran and not an illegal alien? Did you drive things like this? Or this? Maybe even this? You drove the toughest roads on Earth, defending our freedoms.
Stick around.
Why not get paid to drive on ours?
You show me a pay stub with $72,000 on it, I quit my job right now.
How about 6 figures? Become a Freedom Hauler.
You ever think about that? I like it.
We like it too.
It's a real blessing.
And we're blowing up fraud. We want you on the front lines. Your road, your rules. Make your own hours, your schedule.
You sure about that?
Oh, we're sure.
Keep talking.
Did I mention medical benefits and sign-on bonuses? Training costs are completely covered for veterans because our heroes treat safety like a mission and rack up more miles doing it. Best part? You'll be on the road in a few weeks.
It's happening!
Everybody stay calm!
What are you waiting for?
You can do it!
Your next mission to Apply now.
Okay, so just another option. Like, let's keep all the options out there and get people employed. I love this idea for our veterans. They can make a great, great living too, uh, hauling. So, uh, Owen, do you love it?
Yeah, let's go. Um, I mean, again, I don't know how the numbers work out in terms of how many people like that are looking for that kind of job and how how many people they need. But whatever we can do to put people to work, if that's something they want to do, I think it's great.
I can tell you, let me see, I pulled up some stats. More than 40,000 veterans have already used the exist— their existing military skills test. So Freedom Haulers is largely an expansion and publicity push around programs that already existed. Truck driving jobs currently average around $70,000 annually according to the Transportation Department. And also they can be exempt from certain tests and qualifications because of their experience already. So it's like a fast track to move them through to getting their CDL and then being able to drive. And I just love our truck driver. I love all the blue collar, manly man things. Marcella, do you think this is great?
I mean, I think it's great that veterans are doing truck hauling or anything that they want to do. If they want to become an attorney next to me, that would be great. Uh, but I, I don't like when government gets involved in, uh, the economy. I just don't like it. That's how much I don't like communism. Um, but I— the, the thing about this is like the reason that some of these companies hire the illegal immigrant drivers is because they're a lot cheaper possibly, I'm guessing, than your veteran. So I think again, enforcement of the law, um, where are they being arrested, you know? Hopefully there's more enforcement of that. And the employer should face some kind of, you know, if it's illegal to hire illegal immigrants, then they should face some kind of, you know, fine or issue. Because that's the thing, they're just gonna The veterans are going to be great drivers and everything else, but if they're not cheaper than these other people, then they might not get the job. So I would like enforcement to be part of this.
Okay. I feel so not opposite, but I'm just like, they're cheaper until they murder a family that's driving and crash the rig and bankrupt the company because some illegal hack doesn't know how to read. So I, I like this because the veterans are part of the government and so the government can fast-track them. So I do like this for that. Yes. And they can, of course, become anything they want. But, you know, a lot of veterans come out and they don't know what to do. They're young. They're— they don't have a direction that they want to go in. And it's like, look, here's, here's a direction you can go right in. You're filling a need. You're making a good salary. And the companies that do the placement for this, they were all in. They're all like, yeah, let's go, let's get them through and get them jobs. So I think they're working hand in hand with the industry. So I see it as a positive, positive. And we'll see how it goes. I mean, let's see how it shakes out. Owen, any thoughts left on that?
No, I think it's just, you know, I'm, I'm all for it. Um, I, I, I agree in general that I don't like the government interfering with industry and setting the rules, but it, I think with this particular one, they've always been regulating what are the rules. And, and obviously you do need to have some safety rules around who's allowed to drive these big rigs cuz they're dangerous and you need to make sure they're qualified. So I'm okay with that. And I think it sounds to me like the people who have the experience in the military driving big rigs and things should be generally qualified. So I'm okay with sort of relaxing the rules a little bit. Obviously we'll have to see how that goes, but I think, you know, again, I'd rather have someone who can speak English and who has military experience behind that wheel than some illegal immigrant who doesn't understand even what the road signs say.
Yeah. And I can understand where Marcela's point of view comes from. And I don't know, I just, I just I want to just cry when I see all of these accidents that are happening. It's so sad. All right, so you guys, we're at time. We're at time. All right, you guys, should we stay? Listen, if you want to stay and hear an Akira song, stay. I saw someone the other day like, oh, Akira song. I'm like, well, the show's over. You don't have to stay. But we do that for those that want to hang out and say goodbye and chat a little bit more. We will be back tomorrow, the home team. And we thank you guys for being here today. And it was great to be back with Marcelo. Cela and Owen again. Um, so let's say thank you to Scott and Shelly for allowing this show to continue. Um, we love being here with you guys. And, um, let's give a closing sip to our very beloved Scott Adams. We miss you so much. Um, but you're here with us every day. To Scott.
To Scott.
To Scott.
Bye guys, those that want to stay, stay.
I gotta go. Bye-bye.
And let's do— I have to add more songs to the queue.
Whoa.
Oh, here we are, Marcella.
Uh, why did Owen have to leave?
I know, right? I can't make us smaller. Let's do— you guys, I have to add more to the queue. I don't know which one to do. Does anyone— dropping one in the chat.
I'm a truck driver, you guys.
You could. Did we just do low self-esteem? I promise I'll add more today. Let's do low self-esteem. Sean loves you up close. Shocking.
What is this one?
Low self-esteem is like a Low self-esteem is like a virus.
Like a virus.
You catch it from— you catch it— you catch it—
Skip, sorry.
The remix.
Low self-esteem is like a virus. You catch it from other people. You didn't get your low self-esteem necessarily because you were born with it. It's got to be a genetic component here. But mostly it comes from narcissists who have their own broken self-esteem and they want you to have a broken self-esteem. And if you don't have it, they're gonna give it to you. You catch it from other people. And you can get rid of it. Just like you can get rid of— I'm hexed with this.
Right?
Low self-esteem is like a virus. You catch it from other people. Low self-esteem is like a virus. You catch it from other people. You do have a constitution. You do have immunity, but it takes a little while, just like getting cold. The cold wins for a while, and then your natural immunity takes over. Your natural immunity can get you away from this low self-esteem that you caught from other people. It's not in you. It's something you caught, and you're gonna beat the shit out of it. Just like your, uh, immune system will beat the shit out of the— 99% of you plus. Low self-esteem is like a virus. You catch it from other people. Low self- Self-esteem is like a virus. You catch it from other people.
I'm loving the ants, everyone. You know everybody's been there.
It's like the end of Roseanne.
It does.
I don't think I ever played that one. No, I don't recall all those sounds and Tom Petty vibes. Akira is so good. He— I mean, like, every song is different. It's so good. Oh, you guys, love you.
You guys all look great today.
I know, they're all in blue like you.
That's their color.
Oh my gosh, look at you guys. All right. Oh my God, I love the chat. Everyone's amazing. You never heard it either? Okay, good, Marianne. I was like, did I ever play that one before? I have to add more. It's just a time thing. Just a time thing. Okay, good. So that was one we never heard. We've done it. All right, you guys. So we're going to get off to work. I just got a flash flood warning. Good times.
Oh, Krusher. Stay safe.
Yes. I'm going to just stay safe and I'll just take my boat out in the street if I need to.
And Stella.
Oh, little Stelly, you guys. She's, she's not hanging out with me in here. She's definitely changing a bit lately. Yeah, so she's just a little bit older and a little bit more wah-wah. I don't like it. So she needs to stay alive though. That's all I know. Am I tired today or what? I'm tired. Okay, so I gotta get to work, you guys. I have to do the audit for my business. I've got to do July's QuickBooks. I hear a kitty. Marcela, where's your kitty?
Oh, in the garage.
Oh, I thought I just heard a cat. Nope, in the garage.
Oh man, that's where she likes going, and then I gotta get her out of there.
All right, you guys, we'll be back tomorrow. Who knows what we're doing tomorrow. Thank you for being here today, and, um, we'll see you in the morning. Say your goodbyes. Bye everyone. I know I miss Scott too. We all do. Gary and Roman are doing great, by the way. I did have a Gary and Roman update. I'll see if I can get some pictures, but they are great. They're happy. They live with two beautiful dog siblings. They're snuggling. They've got their perches and cat trees and their beds, and then they can lay on the dogs. And they play and they're, they're just really, they're really great.
Yay.
All right, guys. So I'll see you tomorrow morning. Have a great day, whatever you're doing. Oh, Alien, that's so sweet. Okay. I'll just stay here and chat and chat and chat and chat. You know me. Anything to avoid doing a business audit, right? There they are, Crusher. Thanks, Metal Seer. Okay guys, see you tomorrow.
Bye!
