Like, why is your head so big, Owen? Hi, good morning. We should be live. The things that go on back here, I swear. All right, guys, welcome, welcome, welcome. Here we are, August 25th. We're getting to the end of the month. I don't know how many days are in the month, but I can't wait to find out. So you guys, I'm excited about today. I don't really know why, but I am. I mean, literally, that's that's the honest truth. I'm excited. Don't know why. Maybe because it is so freaking gorgeous on the Jersey Shore right now. It's like 68 degrees.
Oh no!
I'm only 70 something today. I am so freaking excited. Oh, Neon, thank you. 32 days this month. Thank you. I appreciate that. That helped. So Owen, Marcella, how are you kids doing while everybody files in?
I'm good. I just hope I can finish all my work today. I'm affirming that. I have a huge motion to write up and—
You'll do it.
I have to do it within 3 hours. So that's like double the rate fast.
And just feed it all into AI. It'll be done. What could go wrong?
I wish that was possible, but it doesn't. Yeah, it doesn't go right.
I do want to say good morning. Good morning to everyone saying good morning to us. I missed you too, Metal Seer. I don't know the 71.8 hours. I'm not— I don't know if I understand your math, but I'm sure you're right because I'm not a math genius, that's for sure. And good morning to everybody on Rumble and YouTube and X. And X, X, you guys chat some more. I want to come over and see your chats, but definitely participate. I want to see what you guys have to say. YouTube, I want to say good morning to Bushman and Annie in particular. Linda, if you're there. Kay Bahati, who refuses to say hello to me. I'm just going to shout you out personally and say good morning to you, Kay, if you're there. And Uphill Gardener and Oh my God, there's so many of you over there.
Karen Burns.
Karen and Freebird. There are, yes, 2 Freebirds. We have a Locals Freebird and a YouTube Freebird. So yes, yes, yes. Um, all right, you guys, so listen, I'm— I've got my coffee ready, I've got clips ready, we've got Marcella and Owen ready, so let's do it.
First of all, this is going to be one of the best days ever. Not for any particular reason. It just is. You don't need a reason. All you need is a cup or a mug or a glass, a tank or chalice or stein, a canteen, jug or flasque, a vessel of any kind, and fill it with your favorite liquid. I like coffee. And join me now for the dopamine hit of the day, the, the unparalleled pleasure, the thing that makes everything better? It's called the simultaneous sip, and I know you came here for it. Join me now for that delight.
Go!
All right, I guess the day going, doesn't it? Everything's starting to turn up, looking a little better. You, you started out a little bit slow today, but Look how much better things are already. It happens quickly.
I love when my energy matches Scott's sip energy. It's always a good time.
Tiger growl and everything.
Yeah, I love the growl. They were always my fave. Oh my gosh, you guys. So welcome in. You are at the Scott Adams School. My name is Erica and I'm joined by Our co-hosts Marcella and Owen, and as always, thank you for being here. Marcella's got the whole world in her hand again, and I just want to remind everybody: if you're looking for Scott Adams' content, it's all on YouTube for you. You know where he can do deep dives into certain subjects, and sometimes he'd be on for an hour to two hours in the morning and could really just you know go hard at things. And I recommend going back and watching Scott. There's One Scott, just one. And there's no replacements. And luckily, he devoted so much of his life and time into being useful and to teaching us and talking to us and correcting course when necessary and creating lessons for us to learn from. So it's all still there. Okay? He is our one guiding light for the Scott Adams School. And for anything Scott Adams. So please go back, rewatch, share him with a friend, and, uh, we'll, we'll keep it going over here like he wanted us to. So I just wanted to say that. Um, okay, so Marcella and Owen each picked a couple of news stories today for you. I picked a couple of little tidbits, and, um, you know me, you guys, I had to start off with this. All right, so Sandy Candy, are you here? How many people live in Maine? In the, in the chat platforms, because you have got yourselves a meteorologist in Maine who is quite hysterical and clearly fighting for his life. So let's take a look.
Result in a few of these showers and storms popping up mostly across the north and west, resulting in the chance for some heavier precipitation, a few bands of storms.
In some spots, we gotta finish up this weather right now.
I'm really so sorry, I'm losing my mind up here.
Plenty of low 70s and low 80s in spots.
I'm gonna have to stop.
I've never had this happen before.
Oh geez.
All right, let me get it together real quick. I'm so sorry, uh, you're playing so evil.
He sounds like he's crying.
The Lord of the '70s, John, please take it. Whatever happened to professionalism, Patrick? Thanks, buddy.
I can't stand it. It's so freaking funny. And yeah, like, it did sound like the edible just kicked in, right? I mean, that was so funny. My cheeks hurt so bad. Did you guys— that ever happen to you? Like, when you're in a class?
I'm thinking Andy was there telling him a joke.
Oh, I can't believe what it was.
I blame Andy no matter what.
Always blame Andy. I could blame Andy for everything right now. There's things Andy doesn't even know that I do blame him for. He has no clue that I blame him.
Um, oh my God, it almost seemed like an SNL thing where he's just losing it. But there's— was there any reason for him to lose it? I don't really—
I don't know. I didn't see that, but it was just like, he's like, I'm sorry, this never happened to me before. Oh my God, I'm trying to pull it together. I'm so sorry. Oh Oh my God, it was so funny. And I've had that happen to me so, so, so many times. Like, do you ever— do you have a friend that you just like, something's going on around you and you know if I even look at her and she looks at me, we're gonna die because we're both thinking the same thing? Like, we, we're always like— there's a few friends that I have like that. It's like, oh my God, please don't look at me. And I have friends that'll be like, don't make eye contact with me, whatever you do when we go in there, do not look at me. And I'm just like, I can't. Like, it's There's something so fun about laughing when you're not supposed to be. You ever do it, Owen? Like in church or something?
Um, I mean, I'm sure I probably have. I can't really remember a specific time, but yeah, I mean, I, you know, it's nothing too bad like at a funeral or anything, but probably in class because, you know, sometimes it's just so ridiculous.
I've done it all the worst, worst, most inappropriate, like most inappropriate times. Marcel, ever happen to you?
All the time. You guys know that I'm always laughing.
Do you crack up in court?
Oh yeah, I can't help it. I try so much. I even fell in court once and it went my way because I fell in front of the judge, so it helped me. So once I fell, I started—
Tell the truth, you did it on purpose.
No, um, no, seriously, I didn't. In LA, the, the They don't spend much money on the courts. The the ground, the the carpet was like lifted. You couldn't tell. And so I went to go in front of the judge, and as as I was walking towards the bench, I like ate it. And then I was like, "What do I do right after?" Is that I just started cracking up, and then just started cracking up too. And so she was really angry earlier for other attorneys. So like I made her day, you know, made her happy. beer, so she granted whatever I wanted.
Nice.
I was like, oh good, I made her laugh. I almost died, but I made her laugh.
Yeah, she went home and told her family. She's like, oh my God. Yes, like the Pez dispenser in Seinfeld. If you know, you know, when Jerry takes out the little Pez dispenser during the, the, um, piano concert. Amazing. So good.
Well, and him making out in Schindler's List, but that's another thing.
Yeah, I mean No comment.
So, all right, so I have one last clip of this Robot Olympics situation just because I can relate to this particular robot. So it's running a 400-meter situation when it starts to feel like it's heavy in its shoulders and it's not running the right way. So what you're going to see is what the robot did for itself to correct its run. And I think a lot of us probably run like this when we're exhausted, but here we go.
Yeah.
Is that in real time?
That is slow-mo, I think.
Okay.
It looks like it's about to trip and fall, right?
It's running like me.
That's what I feel like.
Oh, there you go.
That's how I really run.
Wait, look at all of them.
I'm doing it, you guys, and you guys can't watch.
It's hysterical.
They have wide hips or something.
I know, they're like birthing robots. Look at the one in the back. Did you see the one all the way in the back? Oh my gosh. Anyway, So this is what we— this is where we're at now, you guys. It's crazy. Oh my God.
The robopocalypse is coming. And now Michelle's losing it again.
They have birthing robots.
I said they got birthing hips. Yeah, they got wide hips. Oh, bless. All right. So that— those were my big news stories today. You know me. Um, okay. So let's move it along. Let me cross these off. We're done.
I wonder if any human runners will try that. form just to see if it helps. The Elaine sprinting method.
I can tell you it doesn't. I mean, it helps you just to run, but it doesn't help you go fast. I know because that's how I run. And I too have birthing hips. All right, well, that was that.
The visuals, the visuals.
All right, so now let's get over to crazy-ass Minnesota. What the heck? It goes on in Minnesota. It is like next level insanity. So did you know they took a vote to remove deceased people from the voter rolls? Just take a look.
11.
I recognize the member from Olmsted, Representative Quam. Thank you, Mr. Speaker and members. Uh, this is just to require the full removal of deceased people from the voters' rolls. And if— before you ask, well, nobody deceased is voting, there— the federal system at SSA has checked registrations and has flagged deceased people registering in the state of Minnesota. It's not a huge thing, but let's take care of it by cleaning up the roll. Oregon is doing it, and other states are doing it. So it's not an unusual thing to do. Let's just vote green.
Okay, so makes sense. Take the deceased people off the voter roll. Well, you'll be interested to know that they voted no.
Did they explain why?
No, they want to win. They literally voted no. I mean, I just like, I, I have no words left for the blatant insanity that's happening.
It does seem like the Democrats are just being very blatant about, you know, just, we're gonna do what is best for us. We're gonna do whatever gives us power. We're gonna do whatever we have to. And it doesn't matter even if it does look bad like this, where it's like, how can you vote against that? Or how can you— like, what? Huh? And, um, they don't seem to care. They don't seem to care about the optics. They just want what they want.
Um, I know Michelle Tafoya is running in Minnesota, and I— for Republicans, she's doing really well. I really hope she wins. I think she would be great. But they need some very, very strong new leadership, Republican leadership in Minnesota. I mean, between all this Somali stuff, all the illegal immigration, um, wasn't that in Minnesota where Don Lemon stormed a church with a bunch of activists? Um, I think that was also in Minnesota. I mean, they have a lot of problems there. So I, I don't know, you know, everywhere you turn, right, it's like this whole DSA thing, the cheating stuff, that the Democrats are no longer Democrats. I mean, they're just like the worst of the worst of the country. Um, so—
There was something recently where the Muslim Brotherhood is funding a massive effort to take over our government, and they're just coming right out and saying it.
And let's, let's take it to the Wayback Machine. You know, Obama started all this. Like, I forget how many times he had the Muslim Brotherhood at the White House. Like, why were they there once, let alone— like, I think it was like dozens and dozens of times that at the White House while he was there.
Why?
Um, I mean, it's obvious.
Registered terrorist organization under, uh, United States rules? Do you know?
Um, sorry, what about registered terrorists?
Are the Muslim Brotherhood considered a terrorist organization?
I think so, yeah.
But I don't know why are they allowing them to—
I don't think being a domestic terrorist organization matters. There's no legal impact to being that.
There is.
So is Antifa.
So is my cat saying that too.
Yeah.
Um, I don't know, but I, I mean, I, they apparently— the Muslim Brotherhood apparently contributed $315,000 to this, um, Abdul El-Sayed guy. That recently won his primary, I think. And apparently they're putting together a nationwide plan to have a war chest of $140 million a year to get Muslim and other Islamic-friendly candidates into government. So it's a massive thing now. I mean, they're coming right out and saying, we're trying to take over the American government with Islam.
Now this is where there's somebody on YouTube and somebody that's going to back this up saying, We— here comes the phobia from the hosts, you know. Oh, here comes the Islamophobia. Yeah, you know what, this is America, people. And if you don't see these as problems— we're not, you know, we're not criticizing, um, people like just out of nowhere. These are people that want to fundamentally change our country. Um, yeah, I'm phobic of that. I am phobic of that. Uh, Do it, do it in your own country. But this country was built on a certain foundation. And actually, Owen, I have a clip of El-Sayed in his own words speaking here. Let's, let's take a listen and then you can respond on the other side.
I think the, the, the approach that we've often taken to terrorism has been to figure out how to leverage the might of the US military to go in and root out certain terrorist organizations, etc. And where that's necessary, that's necessary. But I also think we need to be curious about why those things happen in the first place. Like, what drives somebody to want to commit such a heinous act? Like, I, you know, I have to be a student of people's pain. Like, that's what I did in medicine. That's what I try to do in politics. Like, what happens when people are in pain?
I think that's a really pain. important point.
And I think that part of what we have to understand is that sometimes when we move, we create so much collateral damage because too often we have been on the wrong side of our own policies.
Right.
That's not ever to say that terrorism is okay because it's wrong. It's never okay, and you have to address it when it happens. But I think we have to make sure that when we say that there is a rule-based international order, that we are the principal follower of the rules, not just the principal enforcer of the rules.
Right.
And I think too often, you know, one of the things that I do bring to this is my whole life I've been forced to explain who I am to people. My whole life, right? Oftentimes even in my own family, right? Because I have experiences that most people in my family don't have, right? I want you to think about that. Most of the time, if you grew up in a family, your experiences are very similar to your family's experiences. In my case, I was in a position where I would have to explain what's happening in America to people who are flesh and blood of mine in Egypt, or I'd have to explain what's happening in Egypt to people who are flesh and blood of mine in America. And oftentimes, like, I'm not them, But I have a small piece of their understanding because of what I have accessed in the world. And one of the things I've often come to realize is that when people feel some kind of way about, you know, what terrorism is— it's political violence, doing heinous things in pursuit of a political end, right? There is a level of pain and frustration And a level of lack of agency that they have to feel to do something so insane and absurd, right? And so I've often tried to ask, like, so what moves somebody into that? And how is it that we're behaving that may get somebody to think that we don't see them and that's creating pain?
Okay. So, Owen, I'm going to let you react to this first. And by the way, I'm sure those 4 people were riveted, but go ahead.
Well, I mean, honestly, I would say like, I think he probably is doing a good job persuasion-wise with that sort of line of thinking. And, uh, you know, it sounds very like common sense or empathetic or whatever, but In reality, you have to look at what's behind that, what he's really trying to do and what he would do if he got into office. And the reality is, we all know that he would be trying to put in more Islamic influence in America and trying to convert us over to Sharia law and all these other things. And he may never say that because he knows that wouldn't be a popular thing to say. But, um, what he's saying now is the type of thing that would maybe appeal to voters and just try and get him into office. And then suddenly you'll find out what he's really about. And So that's where I think we need to be really careful. And, um, but I think, you know, I, I, I think he's also conflating different issues when he tries to connect, oh, well, there's terrorism and terrorism bad, but, you know, what made him do it? It's our fault.
Right.
And I, I think, um, you know, to me, those are 2 separate things. And I think you can have separate opinions about them, but I don't think you should put them together. Like it, I, on, on the surface, I kind of agree with them, frankly. Like, I don't think we should be as involved in other parts of the world. And I think when we have been, we've ended up creating more terrorists essentially as an outcome, and not intentionally. But when we go in and just like knock over Saddam Hussein and Gaddafi and all these other people, we usually end up leaving a bigger mess than what was there when we started. And so I don't think we should be doing those things. But at the same time, I don't think we should have any sympathy for the terrorists. And we shouldn't be saying, oh, well, we, we can't just You know, we can't just think about the terrorism. We have to think about our problem, our role in it. Like, no, we don't. We don't think about those things. We don't have to think about those things. Even if we did do what I consider the wrong thing in the past, it doesn't excuse what they're doing now. And it doesn't excuse trying to put people in Congress that hate America and want us all to die, which is what they're doing.
Mm-hmm.
So it's just, it's very disingenuous, but I do think that He's he's a good he's a good talker.
Oh yeah, and do you did you guys ever notice? I just I I wish I could remember who just said this, and I was screaming yes yes yes. There's a few people. So El Sayed, Hakeem Jeffries, and somebody else all try to speak the way Obama speaks, like that same weird stuttering inflection. They literally are trying to channel Obama. It's so bizarre. And I guess they think it'll work because they're doing everything else he's trying to do. So Marcello, what—
Josh Shapiro is the worst, I think, of that. He's just— Josh Shapiro?
Yes, yes, yes.
He's just trying to do an Obama impression all the time.
Constantly. Yep. It's so weird. Okay. So, okay, Bahati, you have to go back to the beginning of the show and I gave you a shout out. So just wanted you to know. Um, okay, so Marcela, what did you think about that first clip there?
Do you know, um, the— do you know when this clip was from?
This particular one?
Yeah, I don't think it was that long ago because it seems like it's when he began the Senate race when he wasn't popular.
I don't know.
Um, all I can say is that Like Owen said, he's persuasive, and using the Obama way of speaking has been noted to be persuasive. So that's why they use it. That's why it works.
Mm-hmm.
Um, and he's saying all the right things. We want to do free healthcare, um, free stuff. It always sells. Um, but you know, it always goes back to, oh, I'm a victim. Oh, the systemic racism is against me. Yet he's running for Senate, which in another country he wouldn't be able to. So it is what it is. But he is very persuasive. And maybe he's not persuading, obviously, the right, but he is persuading certain people in the independents. Because he sounds reasonable. I mean, I guess compared to Kamala Harris and him, between him and her, he sounds more reasonable than she does. So, or Hakeem Jeffries, yesterday he came out with this green shirt.
Oh, I saw the green hat.
He looks crazy. I don't know. Huh?
He looks like a matching outfit. Yeah.
But it looked like He, his eyes and all that looked really like, so it's not hard not to look insane, I guess, in the right, in the left.
So then Jesse Watters had on, uh, El-Sayed last night. And so, I mean, I think he really drops the curtain here in this clip. Um, Owen, we'll come to you first after this one and then Marcella.
You said getting rid of Sharia law was white supremacy.
Let's roll the tape.
Go.
I don't have to tell you that the same exact forces that drove Native peoples from their land 2 centuries ago, destroyed Black Wall Street a century ago, bombed a building decades ago, and tried to ban Sharia law not a decade ago, that those forces are alive and well today.
So getting rid of Sharia law is white supremacy? Can you explain that one?
Do you know what canon law is, Jesse? I assume you're Christian, right? Yeah, tell me. All right, so canon law is the name for Christian law. I don't begrudge you your right to practice your faith as you choose. I don't know why the idea that I could practice my faith as I choose is a problem. Nobody is trying to push Sharia law on anyone else, just like I hope nobody is trying to push canon law on anybody else, because we live in an America where you should have the freedom of your religion. So the idea that you have somebody like Tommy Tuberville, right, who, you know, barely was good at coaching football, is out here trying to ban Sharia law when there's less than 1% of the Muslim community in America, as if somehow Muslims are out here trying to push Sharia law, that seems to me to be deliberately targeting the Muslim community because they're different. And I'm just saying that, like, I don't— I have no issue with people practicing their faith. In fact, I would never want somebody to push their faith on me, and I would never want to push my faith on somebody.
Okay, so what do you think, Owen? Did he drop the curtain a little bit?
That's a load of crap. He was just lying, just outright lying. I mean, number one, of course people are trying to push Sharia law. I mean, there's been efforts, especially in Texas and Michigan and other places, where they've tried to have their own Sharia courts, and they're doing things like the female genital mutilation and honor killings and all kinds of things that are abhorrent and illegal. Legal, and they are part of Sharia law. And so number one, my response to that would have been like, it's incompatible with American law, and it has nothing to do with Christian teachings or Christian law. That's not what the American law is about. It may have some foundations in principle with Christian teachings or with, you know, Christian principles. I, I would admit that But the— there's nothing in there that says, in our law, that says, you know, these are Christian things and we're going to enforce them by whatever he's calling canon law, which I've never heard of, by the way. I've never heard of anything called canon law, and I, I don't know of anything that is any— like, I, I don't know of anything outside of just practicing your faith that would even be considered a Christian law. Like, you, you're, you're asked to You know, attend church on Sunday. And, you know, Jews have their, you know, Sabbath thing too. But there's nothing, there's nothing that would run afoul of American law.
Mm-hmm.
And, and I don't think it's because it's enshrined in that law either. There's nothing about any of those Christian things that are in our law. So everything he said is a lie. And, um, I think he's just trying to twist it into saying, oh, right, you know, like it's Islamophobia, or it's, you know, you're, you're coming after us because we're different. Well, by the way, you know, if, if the differences you're talking about are things like honor killings and female genital mutilation and other things that are illegal to do here, then yeah, I have a problem with it. I mean, I— that's, that's the part of Sharia law that I have a problem with. I don't care if you pray 5 times a day, but I do care if you have loudspeakers in my city that are telling everybody to pray 5 times a day. And I do care if you're trying to convert everyone to Islam and if you think everyone who doesn't convert to Islam should be killed, which is part of Sharia law. So, you know, there's a lot of lies in there, basically.
Yeah. I mean, once you understand what Sharia law is, you realize I don't give a shit if you're calling me phobic. I want to stay alive. I want to live free. I want my country to remain the country It was built to be. And, um, no, you're not going to convert— you're not going to convert America into some Islam Mecca. It's just not gonna freaking happen. So, um, Marcella, your thoughts on the Jesse Watters interview for that part anyway?
I just hope Jesse, you know, asked him what Owen said, like, maybe you are not wanting us to be under Sharia, but there's definitely, um, different imams that want us under Sharia law. The same with, with any type of— there shouldn't be any religion connected to, to the law, and if it goes against the law, it's still outlawed, you know, like, uh, Owen described. Um, so I wish somebody would ask him and then see what he says. He's so good at looking Like you know, he's he's he he's smiling. He's dressed the right way. You know, that's that's people don't go beyond that. Like people aren't Owen. So that's the problem. He is. He's like that grandma and Little Red Riding Hood. Oh, I'm your grandma. Like he's just pretending to be something, or he himself has deluded himself to think, okay, nothing is behind me that's gonna cause this. I represented. Christian churches before in regards to certain litigation. They are— he is right, they are certain Christian, you know, all, all kind of churches, they have their own, um, how would I say, rules that they can have, um, that another employer would not have, um, where like a regular employer would not be able to do X, Y, and Z, but because they have freedom of religion and certain things that they can practice, they're allowed to do Certain certain things within their church, and I had to litigate the issue. And that's how I got involved in understanding that there's certain corporate things that, for example, I'll give you an example: in for Christian churches, you can discriminate and only hire Christians, and actually put it into the in California. You can actually put that into your your seeking employment. You can put that if you're not part of Whatever church it is, then you won't be able to get the job. I didn't understand it until I have to litigate and represent them. And so he is right. There is a little bit of freedom. There is these kind of things that are allowed in in the United States, but maybe they need to be looked at further because, like Owen said, if it goes against way like against the law of what you're actually doing, it's no longer practicing your religion. It's actually A crime of what you're doing.
Interesting. It is just interesting because I feel, I feel, I'm feeling like it's like that Abigail Spanberger effect where now it's just the playbook is— and actually there was just a clip of somebody saying this to some of the DSA people. I think it was a DSA Meeting. I mean, I don't know if that's like such a thing, but they were just like basically just lie, say whatever you have to say to get in, and then we do the things we want to do. Unfortunately, that's the direction politics seems to be going now. So you know, so we like we have RuPars. I think we have Spam burgers now. You know, so it's just like she just lied and lied and lied, got in, and on day one reverse course, and she has a very unhappy. state now with what she's doing. And I think that that's what's happening here with the DSA too. I mean, like AOC the other day saying like, oh, Woke 1 was crazy. And we talked about that at length. And to me, the only thing left that she just didn't say out loud was like, wait till you see Woke 2. I don't think she thought Woke 1 was crazy and it should stop. I think what she was saying was, if you think Woke 1 was crazy, Woke 2 is is geared up so much bigger, and she can see the takeover happening. You can see the shift of people going to the Socialist Party. And again, like we say, I don't blame them. You know, they're unhappy, they're broke, they're desperate, a lot of these young— younger people. And they're just like, well, maybe they do have all the answers, and I'm going to give that a try. It's going to be unfortunate, but I understand that mindset, Owen.
Um, and we just warn everyone, just don't underestimate these people.
Yeah.
Because they, they are persuasive. And AOC is very smart, and she's using a lot of the persuasion techniques that Scott taught us. I mean, even just what you just said is something I could easily see coming out of Scott's mouth, like, oh, that was a rough draft, you know, the next version is going to be great. And American Debunk has done a great job, and I'd love to have him on the show to talk about this at some point. But, um, like, he's done a great job breaking it down and pointing out all the persuasion techniques she's using. But I mean, that When you say like, you know, oh, it's woke one and this is woke two, it's kind of like Scott saying you just test messaging. You know, you test different ideas and you just keep refining and you see what resonates with people and, and then you adjust and you just try things until something clicks. And I think that's exactly what they're doing is they're just trying to find the messaging that'll work to get them into power and then they'll do whatever they want when they're in power. But, and, and that part is, you know, political tradition in this country, frankly, to some extent. I mean, I do think it's getting more extreme and more blatant. Where they just literally flip a switch as soon as they get into office and say, well, now we're doing this. And, but I think, you know, I, I've said in the past, I think Trump, in my opinion, is one of the only presidents in my lifetime that actually tried to do everything he set out to do in his campaign. And I, I won't give him 100% on that, but I will say 80 to 90%, he's tried to deliver exactly what he promised in this campaign, whereas almost every other president I've ever seen. in my lifetime has not even, in my opinion, tried to do that. They, they've said things, you know, Bush was famously criticized for saying no new taxes, and then he had new taxes. And they're like left and right. You could just come up with president and example after example of where they just, you know, do whatever they want when they're in office. And they, it's almost like the campaign never happened.
Mm-hmm.
But I do think it's a lot more blatant and it's a lot more extreme. And I think that's one of the big problems is it's not like just, oh, I'm doing a little bit different stuff on tax policy. It's more like, you know, I'm going to totally fundamentally change the system, get rid of the Senate, get rid of the Supreme Court. Like, all, you know, they're basically ready to destroy the country.
Yeah. Yeah. And I, I don't, I don't think, you know, I, I don't think people care that are desperate. Like, they're just like, well, I, I don't care what they do as long as they're going to help me. And unfortunately, like, that's sometimes as far as people can see, right, Marcela? They're just like, well, how does my life become affected? I don't know what else they're doing, but they said they're going to freeze rent and they're going to do this and do that and free grocery stores. So I don't know. I just feel like desperate times for people.
People are going to fall for it.
Yeah, they're going to fall for it. I don't know how... Missing Charlie Kirk and his reach for the, for the younger generations is going to be really— I think it's going to be really obvious this go-round without him reaching out. I mean, he— it's not Turning Point USA, is not Turning Point USA anymore. I mean, Charlie was out there at the campuses and just doing so many videos and talking to so many younger kids and just really getting a positive message out, whether he agreed with the people talking to him or not. It was like you could understand what he was saying and where he's coming from. And I don't know who is doing that now. I don't think anybody.
So they would be afraid to do it, right? Because of what happened to him, right?
I mean, I think it was scary for him because he was so effective. And, you know, there's no one— there's no one like that right now. If there is, who is it? Because we need to— even if they just started making videos and talking more, but they have to really get out to college campuses and talk to these guys.
I, I really think we are all Charlie, but the thing is, do we all want to like put our lives on the line? Because that's the, um, I think they wanted to do an anti-Islam, uh, protest in California somewhere, I don't remember where, uh, and the guy got assaulted. And the— I, I, I mean, I don't agree with the guy himself Because he's kind of controversial, but he got— um, but nobody should assault you for your own free speech, but he got blue paint thrown at him.
Yeah.
And, and, you know, he could have lost his life, who knows. So that's, that's the— that's where we're going.
Yeah, it is. I wish, I wish someone could fill his shoes, but he had very big shoes and a proven track record and just had a magic way of speaking to people. Like, he just had such a gift and probably was a future president. So, um, I don't know, UZH. Charlie and American Debunk have very different things. Debunk will debunk— he takes one subject at a time, where Charlie's just like, what's bothering you? Like, let's talk about it.
They're just different, very different modes. I mean, yeah, I think I, I see American Debunk right now, at least folks thing a little bit like, like Scott Adams, where he's sort of interpreting what's happening and explaining what's happening and, um, helping to identify persuasion techniques and, and things like that. And I think he's doing an excellent job, but it's a very different thing than what Charlie Kirk was doing. Charlie Kirk was, you know, I would say an activist. Like, he was trying to make a difference. He was trying to speak to people that didn't agree with him. He was trying to get through to kids that were being indoctrinated in the place they're being indoctrinated. And that's just a very different function. And I, I wouldn't recommend anybody try and take that on necessarily because you are taking your life into your hands. But, um, I do think if more of us speak the truth, yeah, that it will make a difference. I mean, because just as Scott taught us, you know, all these inputs that you put out in the world do have an impact, and we all have a voice. And if you call out bad things, and more importantly in my opinion, Put out the better ideas. I think that's the most important thing is if you can say, here's the better path, and that's what I try to do with my kids. Is like you know this is what you should focus on: get a job, get a good living, you know, focus on building your own future. Don't worry about all this politics stuff, and certainly don't try and you know get like government to take care of you because that never works out well. And so anytime they stray from the path, I'll put them back on the path. But for the most part, I've done that their whole lives, so I don't have too much of an issue with that. But, you know, I have 2 good people that we raised. So, but I think everybody needs to do the same with their kids and anyone else they interact with and try and reach these people and reach them where they are. But tell them, here's, here's the good path for you. Because if you can paint a good future for them and say, if you do these things, the, you know, just like Scott did, like, you know, with the talent stack and all the things that would make you successful. His whole book, How to, you know, How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big, is a great example where it's like, if you just follow these formulas, you're going to do great.
Mm-hmm.
And almost anybody would do great if they just followed those lessons that he taught us. And so I think the more we can spread that kind of message, the better we're going to do politically, frankly. But I, you know, I don't even think of that as the most important thing. I just think it's, you know, Making a better future for ourselves and for the people around us is all about sharing those ideas and giving people a good path to follow.
Who do you think is, you know, in the chat too, like, who— no, I mean, nobody's Charlie, nobody's filling that, but who is, or who are, a few good people to direct the younger sect to? Like, I want to know who, who's making videos that would be adequate send to maybe college students. I, I just, I really don't know, but if anybody has an idea, drop it in the chat because we need resources. You think J.D. Vance?
Um, I think a lot of the PragerU stuff, a lot of the PragerU stuff is geared towards that.
Nick Shirley. I mean, he is the, uh, person that would go.
But is Nick sending a message to kids? He's actually finding corruption. He's— I'm thinking—
I think he is. I think some of the things that maybe don't make it to X, like in his YouTube channel, like where he's speaking— and you've, you've, uh, played some of it— when he's speaking to, uh, different leftists. And you played that girl video of like, he was like, what are you saying? So he does speak to the opposing side. He hasn't done it as much because he's so busy now with the fraud stuff.
Yeah.
But I think he has that capability of Um, opening himself up to going to the other side and speaking to them. I think he did that before, um, in New York, I think, as well.
Yeah, I, I love, um, Crank One. I love Gad Saad, but I don't know that the younger people— he's very, um, what's the word, academic. And I don't know if they're gonna like want to. I think they need someone to talk plainly like Charlie did. But I mean, Gad Saad's got amazing messages. I just wish there was somebody. I mean, I wish so much. But I'd love to just know, like, okay, like I have friends whose kids are entering college now, and I'd love to be able to say, like, they should really listen to this person or have them check out this. Podcast. We got a Gad isn't hip enough. Hey, he's hip for us though, Alien Baby. We love him. So if you guys have any ideas, like you know, drop them at my X, and I'd love to compile a list of either podcasts or influencers that just have like a positive message. You know, anti-socialism and. And Marxism, obviously. So just any good ideas?
I mean, in terms of resources, I would still say like PragerU is a great one. They have lots of videos and they're geared exactly to that audience. Another one would be Hillsdale College has a lot of free online courses and things you can take. So anybody who's interested, you can get them interested. I think those are really good resources and information, and it gives you, you know, historical context and Like, I'm, I'm looking on their page right now. They have some things on Christianity. They have some things on American citizenship and its decline. And, you know, some, a lot of different things that are historical focused, but they have things about the Constitution. So there's plenty of resources out there for people who want to learn these things. I think that's the challenge, in my opinion, is getting people interested in these things, cuz most people aren't gonna dive down those paths. But—
Right.
PragerU is probably better for shorter videos and, you know, little lessons. Because I think that's how they've done it, is to just like have a 5 or 10-minute video on something.
Right.
But I think that's, that's the other thing I would point to.
Okay, well, that's good to know. So we can— we'll check that out. And you guys, again, just workshop it. If you, if you know of people, doesn't— you know, just send it along. Let's take a look and see if we can help put it out there. Um, I was gonna say, you know, I'm thinking— I, I've been thinking about King Randall So much lately. Um, you know, I mean, he's great with the young kids, but we need like that King Randall energy, like someone who's just so common sense. I just love that. Um, and who'd you say? Let me just see. Riley Gaines, Sophie Cunningham. Yeah, they're, they're great for the women for sure. Poso, Cerno. Um, I mean, I don't know. I, I Poso, yes. Cerny knows a little bit more. He could be scary if you don't know what you're thinking yet. So yeah, just somebody that's got that personality that you feel comfortable with, you don't feel threatened by. But yeah, Gaines and Randall. Yeah. So, all right. So send us some links. All right. So Marcella, I wanted to ask you, you found a story for the midterms that we're going to put a lot more poll watchers in. I think they said, what, 1,000 poll watchers? Is that enough? Is it going to help? And is it like certain areas?
Yeah, I mean, that sounds like a little bit of, um, not enough. Uh, this is led by Assistant Attorney General Harmit Dhillon. Um, the monitors will watch discrimination, intimidation, language barriers, Disability issues and potential voter fraud exceeding prior deployments of 280. So in the prior, prior years, there's only been 289 people deployed to monitor in 2022, and in 2024 there was 714 people. She's made it to be 1,000 federal election monitors for the midterms. So I guess in the scheme of everything, it's a lot more than before. And they will heavily recruit from federal employee volunteers to do civil rights division staffing shortage. They can't really do all of it. I imagine when she says volunteers and election monitors, most of them will be attorneys. So to watch the law being handled in the right way and It does cost money to get 1,000 attorneys, but I guess it's mostly volunteers.
Right. So, well, all right, so that's one thing. And then, Owen, wasn't there like a recent SCOTUS victory we could say for— it was for mail-in voting, which I'm so against mail-in voting, you guys, like ballots just getting sent to homes and people are getting multiple ballots and people that used to live in the house that are no longer there. And in Minnesota, you can be dead and get a ballot. So what's the victory about?
Yeah, so there's an executive order that Trump put out about essentially the Postal Service only delivering mail-in ballots to people on a list of people who are eligible to vote. And so some states right now have kind of blanket, we're just going to send ballots to everybody type of things. So I think that that's been going through the courts, and I think the, you know, the— a judge blocked that plan, um, and Trump appealed that to the Supreme Court on procedural grounds, and they won. So I think that opens up the possibility that we will have better election integrity and election security around mail-in ballots. Um, but I think it's probably not done yet in terms of, like, being challenged legally and All that. But I think the idea behind it is that we would— the Postal Service would have a list of who's actually eligible to vote, which is, you know, includes being a citizen, of course. And then they would only deliver mail-in ballots to people on that list, so they wouldn't be sending mail-in ballots to people who shouldn't get them, basically. So if it works out and we can actually implement it, then, you know, that is a big win. But I think we need to see how it plays out the rest of this time, and we don't have that much time. I mean, it's already the end of August and November's right around the corner, so I don't even know if there's enough time to implement all this stuff. But, you know, we'll have to see how it goes.
Marcela, what's your take on the whole SCOTUS stuff?
So basically what, what, uh, Trump wants to do it with his, uh, executive order is only have citizens, as we know, um, vote, because that's only people that should be voting. But the thing is, the way that the Supreme Court decided this, they decided that basically when it— when he— when Owen said procedural, it— they— what they meant is that it's not ready for it. There's no damage by those 23 states, have not shown any kind of damage, so they have no standing to bring this lawsuit. However, They will have standing once the post office, which is what they're doing now, is going to create a rule. So basically executive order right now, then the post office has to implement the rule of it can only be delivered to citizens, and here's the voting roll. So once that happens, they can again sue and again stay the case, the situation. So It— what happened today does, to me, legally, it's just a delay. It's just a delay.
Yes.
It doesn't mean— it doesn't mean that the court itself has decided the underlying issue of whether President Trump can do this at all. So, and there's so many, like, they can always claim, okay, now that they did this rule, Now we're damaged because X, Y, and Z. And then the court will go, no, you're not damaged yet. So then they go again. And so, yeah. And like Owen was saying, I don't think that it's sufficient time for the midterms to do all this.
Yeah.
So we'll see. But the main thing I think we need to look for is that, you know, the presidential election in 2028, Well, by then we should have a decision, a full decision on all this.
So wow, things move so slowly, don't they? It's just like, whoa, it's very hard to get things done. And then we have presidents for 4-year terms, and it's just like by the time they get to the end of their term, the next person comes in and does everything. I think the American people just had it, and it would be just so amazing if people could just focus on America and, you know, How we got here and who this country is, and just work together to do the best thing for Americans. But we're so far from that now. It's just it's a it's a shame because it this is such a great country, and I'm you know I'm afraid for it if we don't start to getting back to just the basics and the politicians really. I mean today's Dilbert cartoon, the one where. Dogbird has a senator and it's like, now what are you going to do? And it's like, I'm going to— oh, if you didn't see it, I can't explain. I could never just explain a Dilbert comic, but go look at today's because it is so perfect. It explains our political system and just how fake and corrupt the whole thing is. So it's a shame that it's come to that. Okay. So one last thing we wanted to get in, Marcello. We just have a couple of minutes, but Scott Bessent was talking. I have a clip. Do you want me to play the clip?
Sure.
Okay. This is called Operation Outcast.
And on Monday, Secretary of Treasury Scott Bessent announced Operation Economic Outcast, a US plan to isolate the Iranian regime. Among the new sanctions that were announced are secondary sanctions that are actually targeting a variety of different assets, including technology. Gold, aviation, and shipping. In addition, the Treasury Department sanctioned nearly 60 entities, individuals, and vessels in multiple jurisdictions. The actions go after what the department describes as a network of shadow fleet vessels operating across many different countries.
Iranian officials threatened retaliation to the economic measures, with the country's foreign ministry spokesperson saying this: Any complicity with the United States in carrying out its aggressive actions against Iran will. Certainly have consequences. Even now, the naval blockade of Iran amounts to an act of aggression. Any escalation of this situation will undoubtedly bring about consequences of its own.
Earlier this morning, another tanker was struck in the Strait of Hormuz with an unknown projectile while transiting the U.S.-approved southern route. The vessel had damage caused to its engine room and was disabled.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth warned Iran against If Iran is foolish enough to, to, to overplay their hand or mess with the American military, we'll do what we need to do. But economic pressure, we know, hurts them the most right now. And but by no means are we foreclosing using kinetic strikes anywhere in the Strait of Hormuz or around Iran.
We're also tracking another development in the region. Syria has been taken off the U.S. State Sponsor of Terrorism list. This was met with praise by Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharif, who said his country is focused on rebuilding.
All right, Marcella, so, uh, so he came out with the Operation Economic Outcast, another band name that you can do. Um, in regards to it, it has— it sounds like D-Day. It has a lot of teeth. It's a lot of, um, I mean, it sounds great on paper and in writing, but when he was asked, um, Scott Bessent, the secretary, uh, Treasury Secretary, um, he had a— how do you say it— a press conference, and they asked him about China, and they said, okay, so you're doing this, we know that China is helping Iran, What are you going to do about China? Because we don't see in the nearly 60 entities that you're sanctioning, we don't see any of the China banks, the Chinese companies that are actually helping Iran. And he, he indicated that they're doing quiet diplomacy with China and that that's that. And so I don't know what to tell you. I'm hopeful. That this will help. But the more and more Iran war goes on, the more, the more I think of it as a proxy war against China. And that is not just because of the nuclear weapons that we want to control and make sure that they don't have it. We also want to control and have a friendly Iranian government like we have in Venezuela, like we want to have in Cuba, because we want to Have this cut off any oil to China or control what China gets. That's just that would be the reason why he's so why President Trump is so focused on staying there and making sure that they he puts as much pressure economically to them. So that's just my take.
Okay, Owen, we have like 30 seconds.
Yeah, I mean, I think this probably will have an impact, and it has already in terms of sanctions. You know, I just saw in a story I posted today about this that when Trump was elected to a second term, the real, which is their currency, was 700,000, and it's been in a free fall ever since. It's lost 65% of its value in 2 years, so they are suffering economically. And I think it was—it looks like seventy reals to the dollar now. I'm sorry, in 1978 it was seventy reals to the dollar. So it's lost like, I guess, 99.996 percent of its value over the decades. So they are suffering with a lot of inflation and a lot of problems, and this could have a bigger impact. And there was a person on X, Tony Johnson, who apparently says, "Remember when Scott Besson?" worked for the evil Soros and crashed the British pound. Don't underestimate Bessent. So something to think about. And I do have to go, so I appreciate it.
Yeah, I know you do. Okay, thanks, Owen. Okay, you guys, so listen, closing sips and thank yous and goodbyes. So thank you to Scott and Shelley for allowing this show to continue. We appreciate everybody that shows up here every day. Thank you to Owen and Marcella. And as always, a Closing sip to our beloved Scott. To Scott. Bye guys. Bye.
