Trying to connect. Okay, okay, we got YouTube connecting now. So let's just give them a second to come in since that was delayed. And you guys, we have all sorts of clips and news and this and that. And not to take up time during the show, but I just wanted to show this. Look, that's that new helipad. That is really pretty. And Honestly, why did we never have that before? So strange. Everybody was like landing in the grass and trudging through the grass.
I think they were focused on Biden just finding his way across the grass.
But forever we've never had that. So strange. Anyway, I like it. I like it a lot. All right, let's see. YouTube is just coming in now. Welcome, YouTube. Good morning. And thanks, B. Thanks, BD. Can I call you BD? BD Lion? Uh, thank you. Um, I thought so. Okay, so you guys, oh, I'm so— we were all like kind of running a little bit late, but we're here and we're happy. It's hump day. Isn't that what's supposed to happen today? So yes, Holesy, grass sucks with nice shoes. And if you're like a Melania Trump and you're wearing some gorgeous heels, you cannot be walking across that grass like that. But she she manages. She's we actually have a little clip of Melania today. All right, but first, I think enough of us have made it in. Let's do the thing.
And if you would like to enjoy it to its maximum potential, well, it doesn't take much. All you need is a cup or mug or glass or tank or chalice or stein, a canteen jug or flask, a vessel of any kind. Fill it with your favorite liquid. I like coffee. And join me now for the unparalleled pleasure, the dopamine hit of the day, the thing that makes everything better, including your Zoom calls. It's called the Zoom Simultaneous Sip, and it happens now. Go! Oh yeah, I feel the goodness coursing through my veins.
Same, same.
Was that a Jeffrey Toobin reference or just a pandemic reference?
I'm not sure. Either one. I don't know. Those Zoom calls got a little dicey during the plandemic, but I don't know. You can use your imagination, Owen. Wherever it takes you.
I'm sure many of us are.
Or not.
Yeah.
Oh my gosh. All right, you guys. So welcome. My name is Erica. You have found yourself at the Scott Adams School. This is a place that Scott left for us so we could all commune, talk about news, current events. We're going to do— always do some lessons from Scott and whiteboards. And it's just a great place to be every morning and have a simultaneous sip with all of us. Scott's— all of Scott's lessons and videos live on on this YouTube channel. You could go all the way back to his first ones, like about 10 years ago, and start the whole catalog from the beginning if you want to. And oddly enough, every video is always relevant. It just never stops being amazing. So we definitely encourage that. And if you want to join Scott's Locals subscribers, Locals is a platform. It's scottadams.locals.com. And actually Friday night, Owen and I will be on Locals. And I think BJ, I'm trying to confirm, they're going to teach me Bitcoin, you guys. So if you just don't understand crypto or Bitcoin, like I'm probably saying the wrong thing, it's probably crypto and not Bitcoin I should be saying, but they're going to teach the newbies just whatever it is that we need to know to understand when we hear about it.
Even what you just said is controversial.
See, and I will, I will get schooled. So if they can teach me, then if you have never understood it, you will understand it. So I'm not sure exactly what time we're going to start Friday night. It'll be East Coast time, um, but you know, we'll let you know as soon as we, uh, pin that down. I just have to check with BJ and Owen, and there we go. See, Halsey, I need crypto school too. So that'll be Friday night on Locals, um, again, scottadams.locals.com. It's 19 cents a Okay. So you guys, I had some clips I wanted to play the other day that we didn't get to, and I still want to get to them. So if you don't mind, um, we're gonna have all sorts of little tidbits going. But I did want to finish— you know, I like to start with a fun, silly video. So I do want to finish with 2 clips I had from Jessica Tarlov. And I was saying how she's been making her rounds on the podcasts. And again, Owen, I'll repeat so nobody, you know, feels offended on behalf of Jessica. She is articulate. I'm sure she's super smart. And, um, but she's like missing a chip when it comes to her party and the reality of who they are. And she was on Bill Maher the other night and watch this exchange and how he thought she was kidding.
I think all these recent elections have been about the Democrats are crazy on social issues. People don't like that. Trump's crazy, but the economy's better. But he doesn't have the economy anymore. I mean, I look at—
And we're less crazy.
Who's less crazy?
Democrats. You haven't noticed?
Have you seen the Democratic— oh, you're being sarcastic. Oh, I see.
No.
No? You think we're less crazy?
Maybe not inside, but we're at least when we go out and give a speech talking about the economy and corruption.
They're communists. Who think the Islamists are the good guys. Are you kidding? Less crazy?
The candidates?
Oh, some of the candidates. Like, you're not following the Democratic Socialists of America?
Oh, no, I'm following them. I have to see them every day. I work at Fox News.
Okay, they're not less crazy. And they're not recanting any of that crazy gender stuff. I mean, they're doubling down.
It was so wacky to me. I, I mean, I love Bill's expression, Owen, didn't you? He's like, oh yeah, you're sarcastic. You're not being sarcastic.
Yeah, well, I mean, I think she's, you know, she's playing a role on Fox and off that she's a team player for the Democrats. That's her job. And so I, you know, I think it's kind of like that thing, you can't believe something if your salary depends on you not believing it. Right? Like, you can't, you can't really— I mean, Bill Maher might be the exception, but I think that's the role he plays, is kind of like the reality check for maybe both parties, but mostly for Democrats, I would say, because I think he is still anti-Republican. But, um, you know, at least he'll call out the Democrats in a way that most other people on the left won't. But I think Tarlov, it's just she's playing for her team.
Um, I think some of that's true, but She real— when I saw that clip about the border, how she could not believe people were flooding over the border, and only because Fox News sent a drone over that she saw it. And it's like, you work at Fox News. Like, are you listening to CNN and MSNBC in your spare time, Marcello? You know, I, I don't think— I think she does play a role on The Five because she has to take that other stance, but I don't know that she really— I, I really do think a lot of news people are also in a bubble. Um, that's kind of how I feel about her. What do you think?
I mean, to be honest, I really admire her and I hate her at the same time. So she does her job well, like Get the Five. Like, I'm like, oh, Jessica, I want to grab you and grab your glasses and stuff. But she really does a great job. From what I know about her, she's She's extremely smart. She's extremely beautiful. So she is playing a part. And she has a PhD in political science from the London, uh, London School, and an economics degree as well, a master's degree in economics. So she's very, very smart, but she's also very political. So when you see her do what she did, and she knows what she's doing, she knows how to provoke, she knows how to get attention. I think that's why Scott always liked her because she, she, she does her job well, like Owen said and like you said. But she also knows how to, you know, attention grab. And, and, you know, it's political. She's, she's sort of a politician. I'm surprised she hasn't run.
Oh, she is. She is all in on the Dems. Like, can't change her mind. Um, I thought this— not to harp on Jessica, but I did want to do these clips this week. Um, this was also from Bill Maher, uh, last Friday, and the guest is, um, it's Chris Ruffalo, right? I don't want to say if there's two. Anyway, they'll show his name, but this was also, I thought, interesting. Let's just check it out.
The question I want to ask you, how do we get these people who are so intolerant of people on their own side? I always say to the super woke, we voted for the same You're just why she lost.
Okay.
You're not— we're not the first. I remember Marianne Williamson ran for president.
Oh, yeah.
I love Marianne. She was here fairly recently on the show. She once said, what does it say that Fox News is nicer to me than the lefties are? What does it say that the conservatives are nicer to me? So we're not the first ones to experience this. How do we get those kind of people, these people who are so secure in their own perfect one true opinion, To, like, open up and be— like, stop being such hypocrites. You're supposed to be the people who like tolerance.
Liberals.
You're supposed to just— I call them liberals in theory.
Yeah.
Well, I don't want this to happen because I want to win elections because the outcomes are better when Democrats are in charge. But frankly, losing is the antidote to this and getting on the ballot and being rejected. I mean, that's what happens.
I support you guys losing as much as possible. Sounds great.
Yeah, I love it.
We're on the same team.
I'm glad we could have this moment of unity. But that's what happened, like Francesca Hong, the crazy lady who was running in Wisconsin.
The one who wanted to get rid of Thanksgiving.
I think you have to have a personality disorder to run as a Democrat. It's like, uh, it's like you have a political movement that has such a complex, and, and it's going to be dominated by the people to the fringes. And so To the extent that the Republicans aren't, I don't think so. No, I think it's different. Yeah, I think look, I think and there are fair criticisms about the Trump inner circle allegations of corruption. If that's true, they should be punished to the fullest extent. We have to be principled, and we have to have the same kind of standard for both sides.
If it's true, but the but the but okay, there'll be a process.
Democrats will have the House.
Yeah.
So Chris Rufo, sorry, Chris. I like him a lot. So I love that, Marcella, because you heard that time and time again that Democrats would go to a Trump rally and they were like, oh my God, everybody was so nice. Like they knew I was a Democrat. They were like, come on over. I would say majority, yeah, we are super nice. Like we don't care. Like if you wanna show some sanity, we're all in, come over. I love that exchange.
We have like a big tent. We actually do practice, conservatives do practice coexistence. You've ever seen those cars with that coexistence sticker and all the other stickers that they have? Like, you know, they go with it. And those are the type of people that are really not coexistence kind of people, that as soon as they hear you are on the right, they want to attack you. Literally, I've been attacked, uh, about like physically about my positions in certain ways. And I'm glad that, that, that Bill Maher mentioned this because it's not something talked about. Like, you might have your differences in opinion, but we are not going to attack you, at least not the conservatives I know. MAGA wouldn't do that. So I'm glad. And anybody at Fox News, if you go to their, their, um, studio wouldn't be attacking you or anything like that, right?
Well, to be fair, Chris Rufo in that clip called everybody who's a Democrat having a personality disorder. So I just want to mention that. But, you know, I do think I agree overall that like the intolerance of the left is just like a huge theme. It's like they don't— they're supposedly liberals, but most of the intolerance is coming from Democrats.
Oh yeah.
Yeah, what I mean by, by intolerance, I mean physical violence. Like, literally, you may be disagreeing. Like, I can see conservatives say what he said, um, but there's— he's not about to kick someone's butt, you know, over it. Um, he can have a difference of opinion. But I think when you go anywhere near a leftist to the degree that they're always going to— not all, but if you go to a rally of a Kamala rally versus a MAGA rally.
No, I, yeah, I agree. It's, I mean, I think it's, it's partly the violence, but also just the hatred.
Yeah.
Like it's like an intense hatred that they have for Trump supporters or for anybody who could possibly support, you know, like I, I don't hate people who voted for Kamala or voted for Biden. Like, I, I mean, I, I might think they made the wrong decision. I might think they're not informed. I might think they're stupid. I don't know, a little bit, but I'm not going to hate them. Like, it's not going to be like, oh my God, I can't stand to be around you.
Well, like I told you guys a story the other day, I was talking to a customer. She knows zero about me, nothing, nothing about me at all. I had to call her about a job and she was like, I have the best neighbors in the world, but now I'm really upset because I found out that they voted for Trump and I don't know what to do. And I'm like, what, what about it? And she's just like, well, now I don't know how to look at them anymore and I, I, I'm afraid of them. And I'm like, you just told me they were the best neighbors anybody could have. Yeah, but I mean, can you imagine they would vote for Trump. And I'm thinking like, you have— you don't even know who I voted for. But I ended up talking to her for about 30 minutes, talking her off the ledge and letting her know, like, you know, judge people on how they treat you. It doesn't matter who they voted for. You know, I want the best neighbors. I don't care who they voted for. I'm like, did they ever talk to you about your politics? She's like, oh no, no. And I'm like, all right, well, everything's good.
Yeah.
But it's just so funny how she went from I love them to now I'm scared of them.
Mm-hmm.
And, you know, willing to never speak to them again. And, um, I don't recognize that. And so in which case, I, I want to say Mark Rufo— Mark— Chris Rufo is right. And I think they do have a personality disorder because I really feel like you can't co-sign on this Democrat Party without convincing yourself that all of this insanity is okay. And to think that this insanity is okay, I don't know, something's wrong. There's like a breakdown.
Yeah. And I've had that same kind of conversation, and I imagine it's happening every day all over the country where people are talking to people just assuming that they're a Democrat when really they're talking to a Trump supporter and they're just— they just don't know it. Um, but I, I think it's, um, you know, the, the— I, I think a lot of people are still on the Democrat side must still be in denial about all the radical left stuff that's going on in the Democrat Party because I think a lot of Democrats probably just think they're still the liberals that they used to be, and they don't realize how far the party has shifted.
Or they just hate Trump that much that they're like, I'd rather be known as like a woman-hating, baby-killing, not your body, your choice unless it's aborting a baby at 9 months. Like, it doesn't make any sense. Like, my body, my choice, abort a baby at 9 months, you better get the vaccine or you're killing everybody. It's like, you people, you don't— you make up your mind. So that's why I don't like cosigning signing on to a team. It's like, be an individual. Don't worry about what the masses are saying. Do what feels right for you. Go with your morals and your values and what you feel alone when you're not near anybody else, and, and go with that.
And I also agree that, like, that I, I feel like it, it's like, I don't know how to say it. Um, it, it, like, you— I don't know, maybe, maybe I, maybe I lost my train of thought. Let's go on.
Okay, Marcela, anything on all that?
Um, the, the fact is that, you know, it— they're being brainwashed. They were brainwashed by their news. I mean, there are the ones that like went to Cuba, did the School of Communism 101, of course, but then there's the regular folks that don't really pay attention and are not informed, and then their fake news tells them all these stories about Trump and how he like did X, Y, and Z, and the fine people hoax, and all sorts of things. And if you don't look beyond what they're telling you, you're going to believe all of that. So they've been brainwashed. So that's—
yeah, that would—
I think that's— maybe some of them do have mental issues, but a lot of them are just brainwashed people, which is—
Which is a really Valid reason also why Trump booted out CNN and MSNBC and Politico. And now just I just actually asked Grok to help me explain this to you guys. I mean, I know this Paramount deal was going back and forth for a while, but so Paramount is buying Warner Brothers Discovery for about $110 billion. Okay, so now. By them doing that, they're gonna own 2 major movie studios, Paramount+ and HBO Max, plus they're gonna own CBS News and CNN. And they're also picking up all their debt, which is about $80 billion. So Hollywood gets another mega merger, theaters get a 5-year quota of 30+ movies a year, and 2 of the biggest remaining TV newsrooms will have the same owner, David Ellison. Now, so now if you're seeing people being depressed, so Ellison is viewed as more— well, actually, you know what he's viewed as? He wants fair news. He wants news that's going to be down the middle. And so now there's grieving journalists everywhere that are like, I'm leaving, I'm starting my own thing, I'm this, I'm that. And it's like, but David Ellison wants CNN to not be swinging left so hard. They want them to come to the middle, which only makes sense because our news is so biased. And so that's kind of the gist of the deal. I mean, there's more to it, but so CNN is like at a funeral today. Everyone's sad. And so CBS News or CBS, same thing, will be owned by the same person as CNN. I, I don't know, Marcel, if you peeked at it, or Owen, but that's the gist. I just wanted you guys to know about it.
The interesting part is, in regards to CNN and CBS, from the— what I can find out is that there's going to be an independent, independent 5-member board of experienced journalists to oversee editorial independence in CNN and CBS. That's— we'll see. You know, it's gonna be interesting.
I do think this is a major shift. Like, you know, we've seen that CBS was already shifting. Even CNN before was saying we're going to try and be more objective. Like, they, they were starting to move in that direction already. But the change in ownership, I think, is significant that, you know, when you have someone at the top that is right-leaning politically, just like you have at Fox News, then it flows down from there, right? Like, they're going to potentially replace people and put different leadership in charge and, and drive the whole agenda and I don't think it's going to be easy because you have pretty much everybody else that's really left-leaning. So it's going to be another thing, just like we heard with CBS before, where they're like resisting Bari Weiss and, you know, quitting or whatever. And so I, you know, there's probably going to be a rough period here for them. But I think it, it's— it is encouraging to me that the right is paying attention and is trying to do this. Now, I don't know how much Larry Ellison's decision was based on, I want to own CBS.
David Ellison.
I'm sorry, David Ellison. Like, own CBS. It may have been for the rest of Paramount. I don't know. But just the fact that they are taking control of some of the media, whether it was intentional or not, seems like a significant shift and a positive one to me because, again, it's been so dominated by the left for so long. And we've talked endlessly about this, right? Just how it colors everything and brainwashes everybody. And so it may be that we're seeing the beginning of a real change, and I'm encouraged to see it.
Yeah.
I mean, the irresponsible marching ordered news has gotten people murdered, killed, given very bad information and advice, and without ever having a consequence. I mean, the amount of What do they call them? Unnamed sources that they just run with for stories. And like we always say, once you put a story out there, whether it's true or not, you put the thought out into the ether. So there's never accountability. I agree, Maria Bartiromo should be on that board. But if a few heads roll and people get fired and the Jake Tapper type quit, good. Even better. You're amongst the worst. So we'll see how that shakes out. So lots of shakeup with the news. I mean, even today. So President Xi is coming to town today to meet with President Trump, and whatever news crew is there apparently doesn't have the equipment to cover it. So Real America's News has put the offer out there like we're here, we have equipment, we will cover him when he you know lands and gets here and whatever. And it's like so the news can act like little babies because they. You know, it's like they don't get to like run around like playtime, or they could get serious and understand where they've gone wrong and actually deliver news to America. And let's see what happens. I bet your ratings go up. I bet the country becomes more sane. Um, so I'd like to see that happen. And, um, what do we know about Chi, either one of you guys, Marcella, about him coming to town today?
And he's not, he's not visiting me, which I'm really disappointed on. Like, how come? Um, but no, he's gonna be there. He's gonna actually speak to the UN Assembly or whatever, but then they're gonna meet and we'll see what happens when they meet. I think a lot of people are pushing President Trump to be a little bit tougher on Xi over the Iran issues because Xi, uh, there was a story earlier a few months ago or I don't know how these things are, but that allegedly China gave images of the different bases that we have overseas to Iran, and Iran was able to use it in order to attack U.S. bases overseas. So there's a lot of it. I wish I could be in the room because there's going to be either it's going to be very awkward or it's going to be very Trumpian where he's going to, you know, be super nice. Uh, he's always taught us to be nice to our enemies, um, and keep them close. So I'm imagining he's gonna put on a show for him, and it doesn't necessarily mean that he is seeing eye to eye with Xi, right? But I think that's just the Trump way.
Um, I, I agree with that. Go ahead, Owen.
Well, I, I mean, I think that One thing I would just say is like, it's kind of like there's so many things going on around the world that Xi coming to the UN is probably not the top story, which it would normally be. Um, but I, I mean, I, you know, that's my opinion just because you've got all this stuff happening in Iran, you've got all this stuff happening in Ukraine, you've got, you know, all these different potential things where certain people were allowed in, like Iran, that you wouldn't have expected, and other people weren't allowed in. And So there's lots of controversy around this whole UN process right now. But I think to me, I know there were stories about Bessent meeting with some of the Chinese delegates or whatever it is to talk about various trade issues. And certainly trade is going to be front and center. I think I saw some story that said they were trying to make sure that we got the rare earth minerals going again and that we reduce tariffs on certain exports from the United States to China. So those are going to be some of the trade issues, but certainly fentanyl is still on the agenda in terms of stopping all the precursors from coming over here. And, um, you know, there's obviously, like Marcella said, the involvement in some of these other conflicts that are, you know, where they're helping the other side. And so I think we need to certainly worry about how they're helping Iran, how they're helping Russia, um, and seeing, you know, what we can do about that to at least keep them out of You know, I don't, I don't know that we can prevent them from building up their military at all, but at least hopefully we'd be able to say, look, we need you to stop helping these other countries that are fighting us.
And the other thing that is just so, uh, near and dear to so many people, I've been seeing it all over X again, is get Jimmy Lai the hell out of prison. It costs Xi nothing. Let him out. Okay, if you know, you know Jimmy Lai. If you don't know, look him up. Last name Lai, and it's a travesty what's happened to that dear man. So yesterday Trump, you know, spoke at the UN, and yeah, oh, and I'm just like looking at all the different things he touched on. Like for for I'll give you guys a little synopsis. Okay. Oh, so Greenland, by the way, I wish I had the clip of Greenland's leader because she's like very happy about this deal. So on Greenland, he said it— the deal gives US lasting control over security there, and no adversary gets a military presence or sensitive investment without written US approval. It's about locking the Arctic in so China or Russia can't move in on it, which is so strategically smart. We should have done that a million years ago. As for Ukraine, he said Washington is working closely with both Russia and Ukraine, and we will get that done. faster than people expect. No new plan in the speech, just claiming that a deal is coming. And on Cuba, he called Cuba an absolutely failed state under the most pressure it's ever faced and said it will fall. With Marco Rubio deep into negotiations, the Cuban delegation walked out of the room while he was speaking, as Iran did also. And speaking of Iran, He said he, uh, he called Iran the top terror sponsor, said he will never allow a nuclear weapon, and demanded that the world isolate them economically. Uh, then the line that landed: he has a big decision to make— a deal that lets Iran rebuild into a greater country, or annihilate the Islamic Republic and drive them into hell. He said there's that Iran is stalling for the US midterms and predicted a deal after November. Then he also said he'd finish it fast. Iran's delegation walked out, as they should. And what else did I want to tell you about that? Okay, so on— he said the US will no longer let threats gain a foothold anywhere in the hemisphere. In the Western Hemisphere. That's the Monroe Doctrine in modern language. This neighborhood is ours to police. So he's coming in strong, like, we're grabbing this from Greenland. We're going to do this over here in Iran or annihilate them and blow them into hell. And the Western Hemisphere is ours to police. And then for the International Criminal Court, he called the ICC out of control. Maybe we should call it the OCC. And told member countries to resign. Message: don't let an international court sit in judgment of the US or its allies. I fully agree with that because the ICC is trying to put tax— or actually the whole union, the NATO union is trying to tax, do global taxes on things. And he's like, get the heck out of here. We're not doing global taxes. So on any of those things so far, Marcella, Um, which one of those would you like to comment on?
The whole speech. Um, he just came in and he basically hit it out of the park again, even at his age. Like, I mean, I'm just in awe of how much energy he has. Um, I don't even have half his energy. The fact is that he went in there like a bull, stayed a bull. and kept conquering. And my favorite part, as you guys know, is the superintelligence part, the rebranding of it. Uh, he talked about artificial intelligence, the word artificial being fake, which in itself doesn't really give, uh, the idea of what it actually is. He talked about artificial intelligence being amazing and more important than the Industrial Revolution. So if it's more important than Industrial Revolution and it's amazing, Why give it such a fake name? Let's rename it superintelligence. Like he did high ground maneuver over in space, the way that he high ground maneuver all of the leaders there, very respectful, respectfully basically told you know Cuba as Erica said they are a failed state as soon as. Word fails, state goes, the camera goes on to the Cuban guy. The Cuban guys go like, oh no, no, no, no, no, señor. And so they went, and then he talked about Iran, and immediately, you know, TV, it's like total TV thing moment where they put the— what is it now, prime minister, president of Iran? I don't know. He's supposed to be making a speech right now. Um, He didn't check with us. But anyway, so as soon as that hit, the guy looked like, "Ooh no!" Like somebody had died three thousand times. What I love about Trump is that he told him, "You've killed ten thousand or more people of your country, and you don't deserve anything. And we're gonna stop you. I'm gonna stop you from having nuclear weapons." And that's when everybody clapped, and not just the Americans. And it wasn't you know it was more.
Yeah.
Than just the Americans. But the main thing of his speech was an indictment on the UN and telling them that without them, he had to take action, that he doesn't need them, basically. And he can do it. He can do the deal. He is the master persuader. He, he said, you know, on the sidelines, they could do the deal with Ukraine and, and Iran and all those sorts of things, you know. But it is what it is. I loved it. It was, you know, I thought of Scott a lot when I saw it, and I thought of Erica and Owen, and I thought, oh my gosh, this is what we want. And on top of that, the escalators were working in the UN this time around, so everything was full on.
Mm-hmm. Yeah.
This is something that wasn't working before, so I'm glad, I'm glad he was there. And I am pro-superintelligence now.
Yeah. So he said, stop calling it artificial intelligence. Call it superintelligence. Safety warnings are a hoax. America is way ahead of China. And he will not slow something bigger than the Industrial Revolution. If it goes off the rails, he said law enforcement can handle it. I'm like, all right. Go ahead, Alan.
I do think there might be a false flag. coming on the AI side, because I think, in my opinion, based on my understanding of the technology, and I've certainly played with it a fair amount, more than most people, I think. And I think with, especially with the open weight uncensored versions that you can easily get for a lot of these models, you can have it do some really bad things. And so, you know, I'm kind of surprised it hasn't happened already to a greater extent than it has. I mean, we've had these incidents coming out of the labs themselves where they've hacked into other websites or companies or whatever. But I haven't really seen much yet in terms of like somebody used it for a really bad purpose, like designing a biological weapon or, you know, taking down a major site or other things that might be possible based on some of these new capabilities. And so I wouldn't be surprised if we do see one in October, right, you know, conveniently right before the midterms. to try and let the Democrats have a talking point to say, look, we can't trust Trump to be in charge of this type of thing. But I think aside from that, I agree. I think Trump did a great job. I think he did a great job with persuasion. And I would point out with the Iran thing that he directly threatened the regime. He directly said, if you don't make a deal, basically, I'm going to kill all you. And It wasn't very vague or, you know, it was pretty direct. And I'm sure that's probably why that guy had that look on his face. But I just, you know, it reminds me what he did with the Taliban, right? Like he said, you're, you're not going to kill any more Americans. And if you do, here's a picture of your house. That house isn't going to be there anymore. You know, like we have all the information we need to take out. And my guess is we have the same—
No, you have a cat, right?
They probably know where all these people are. And so I think, you know, it may make a difference. We'll see. I, you know, obviously Iran is a little bit harder of a threat than the Taliban, in my opinion. But I think it's, you know, something that might move the needle on that in a way where it's like, you know, basically their choice is make a deal or die.
Mm-hmm.
And he's putting that pretty much directly out there. And I think that probably is a good approach, frankly, because It makes it a very stark choice where it's saying, okay, you know, it's not just about sticking to my, you know, tagline and taunting the United States like we have for years. Now it's like, I got to make a decision. Am I willing to die for this? And, um, you know, what's going to happen if I die for this? Because like, who's left? Who's going to take over? Like, it might be— Anything other than them dying by doing that. So, um, We'll have to see how it plays out, but I think it's an interesting time as far as that conflict goes.
Oh, it's interesting. All right, so I want to pivot, you guys. There's so many other little tidbits I want to grab. I don't know where to go first. It's a tough decision, but all right, all right, all right. Oh, you guys, if you're on YouTube, can you hit the thumbs up for us, please? There's a little thumbs up button and hit the little bell, and that will notify you when we go live because sometimes people are like, I don't know exactly when it comes But if you hit that little bell and you hit subscribe, you'll find out when we go live. Okay, so you guys, did you hear the news of this possibility? Dun dun dum! It's Christy Cream, and the news around town is he might want to run for president again. Is he kidding me? Is this a joke? To sit to take Biden's term? Is this a joke? Um, so yeah, news is he's poking around to think about running for president again. This man, like, this— like, all he wants in life is to be the president. Um, I, I can't, Marcella. What, what, what is happening here? Have you heard this yet?
No, it seems like everybody's running. Are you running for president? This seems like everyone—
Heck no. I know about my skeletons.
Well, he has skeletons too, and I would like to see him run just for the fun of it. Um, him and Pritzker. But Pritzker has gotten really skinny, or like slimming down. He even said so himself. He came out saying—
Yeah, he came out of the Ozempic closet. Well, if, if, if Krispy Kreme wants to run, then he needs to, he needs to prove it by getting on the Ozempic also. It'll be a race, Jersey versus Chicago, right? Owen will be like, let's go. So did you hear about this yet, Owen?
No, but I mean, as far as I'm concerned, any losers who want to run, go for it. Embarrass yourself. You'll get knocked out in the primaries. But especially on the Democrat side, it's like, hey, run whichever scandal-filled losers you want. But either side, it's like, I don't think anyone's going to displace J.D. Vance at this point. If it was going to be someone, it would be Rubio. And I think on the Democrat side, I don't really see many strong candidates. And again, I think the one exception might be that I think AOC would be a formidable opponent for JD just based on her persuasion skills. I'm not saying she has good policy ideas. I'm not saying that I agree with any of that at all. I'm just saying I do think she has a better persuasion game and more charisma than most of the other candidates. put together, frankly.
Yeah, she, she doesn't have a prayer of winning though. I mean, she doesn't. She, she lies about everything. She gets everything wrong. Like, literally, I don't know who said it 1,000 years ago in one of, uh, the Coffee with Scott Adams stream, but AOC stands for, uh, Alexandra Occasionally Correct. And it never left my head. And I'm just like, that's so perfect. But you know, how about how about this this little lady running for president again? I mean, the the range of accents that this woman can do while being drunk is astounding. Let's take a listen.
They are cheating by purging voter rolls. So we say as leaders then to folks, not only must you register to vote, check your voter registration status to make sure. You haven't been purged from the rolls. They're trying to take our tools, but we are a creative people and we know how to fight. And we have always been fighting against the odds, and that has never deterred us.
I can't. And it's— you know what does it for me with her? She's always got her arms flapping like a chicken, and she's always jumping up and down. And as soon as someone gives a cheer from the crowd, she goes into that Obama preacher Hillary voice. I'm like, oh my God, you're so inauthentic. I can't take her.
I want her to run so badly. She gives me so much entertainment.
I want— you know what? Honestly, forget it. Don't even worry about running for president, you guys. Just do like a pay-per-view thing or a live streaming thing. Let's get— let's just get Newsom, AOC, and Kamala to just debate each other for an hour. Like, that's all I need out of this is to watch those 3 debate each other. I can't even imagine. I mean, Newsom is a good debater, so I do have to worry about that a little bit. He is a good debater, you guys. The other 2— Kamala had one good debate I ever saw that was against Trump. It was surprising. He was surprisingly off his game and she was surprisingly on, so it was the perfect storm. But oh man, I'd love to see it.
Kamala, the— well, the little bit inebriated Kamala, and then allegedly, and AOC, the bar— the ex-bartender. That's just like—
She can serve her drinks while they debate.
It's like, oh, she'd be like, so, um, well, you're going to, uh, Yeah.
So I think AOC— I saw some of your comments going by. Yeah, she's like super talented. I mean, she speaks, although with a baby voice, she speaks with conviction. And she's like, she really delivers her stupidity in such a believable way that if you don't know the facts, you're just assuming what she's saying is right because it's what— it's so believable. Um, but Owen, I don't think AOC could go all the way because She honestly, she's just, um, she's not smart enough. You know, she's, she's sharp and she speaks well, but she doesn't really understand what's happening, in my opinion.
Yeah, I'm not necessarily saying I think she'll beat JD, although I do think it'll be a closer race. I guess that's what I'm saying, compared to most of the other choices that are out there. So that's just how I feel about it. I know it may not be a popular opinion. Some of you may disagree with me and think she's a moron, and that's fine. But I, I just think, you know, American Debug has been calling this out, that she does have a really good persuasion game. And I kind of agree with him that I think—
Well, Scott, again, I have to say, pointed that out. Yeah. I mean, you know, Scott pointed it out. We get it. Like, we all know she's got a great persuasion game. We, we understand that. It's just that I just don't think she has a grasp of the facts. That's, that's all. Um, but I think when she's not being pressed, when she can just speak in a committee, no one's challenging her. She gets to challenge whoever she's talking to. But I think if you— I'd like to see people challenge her, but she goes on friendly media and she's never been put in that position. The one time, what was that show? Is it Margaret Brennan? I forget what it was, but oh my God, it was so painful to watch. I actually felt bad for her. But we'll see. We'll see. Um, I would love to see her debate or be challenged. That's just me.
What I was gonna add is like, we're talking about as if these elections were actual, like, in my mind, actually honest elections. But we know voter fraud exists. So the Democratic Party always does it. That's how Biden allegedly won. Um, so that's, that's the other thing that we have to take into consideration is like, it doesn't matter who they put on there. They're going to do their thing.
Mm-hmm.
You know?
Yeah. And I would, I would also add that as we've seen in the recent past, the Democratic National Committee essentially selects their candidate. So, yeah. And it, and it, that's the part that surprises me. And that's actually what I was gonna say earlier on this earlier story when I lost my train of thought was like, Democrats never seem to push back on their party. They never seem to say, hey, wait a second, why are you doing that? Like, I, then that was the perfect example where it's like, They kicked Bernie out of the race when they wanted Hillary to run, and they, you know, kicked everyone else out when they wanted Biden to run. And, and then they just selected Kamala. And like, it's like, okay, we're, we're not even gonna have an election. We're just gonna tell you this is your candidate. And it just seems like Democrats just sit there and take it. They don't even complain. It doesn't seem like— now maybe it is because the media just decides not to cover that if it is happening, but I don't hear it. I don't hear anybody complaining even on social media about like, hey, we're not even allowed to elect our candidate. And so, you know, it does seem like, you know, whether or not AOC is the candidate will be up to the donors and up to the DNC, not up to the voters.
Yeah, no, you're so right. And I think about that often, Owen. Like, they just, you know, for as uppity and rude as the Democrats can get about everything, they're just like, okay, feed us our candidate. Yes, like we're sheep, whatever you say, you know? And I think it's crazy that they don't flip out and say, let us choose who we want. You're so right. All right, so we'll see what happens with that. So that Kamala clip fell under, if I had to see it, you had to see it. Now here's a little—
I would just throw in a little tie-in to the previous story on the UN. Imagine what Kamala would've said if she was up there at the UN.
I can't. I can't. Oh my God. And honestly, Doesn't anyone tell her that everybody thinks you're drunk? Like, get your shit together and stop talking like you're drunk if you're not. It's so weird.
She'd probably be up there talking about Venn diagrams.
Oh God, we can only hope. Zen diagrams. Okay, so here's a little palate cleanser. Let's have one minute with our first lady.
Well, I have two platforms, two initiatives. Fostering the Future, it's focused here in United States for foster children. I have 26 universities now in the United States and many foster children. We have some graduates already. A doctor graduated this last spring. And as well, Fostering the Future Together, it's all around the world. And yesterday I was hosting the first spouses and first ladies. And it was a big success. We have almost 60 members working with me, and some of them, they were very inspired by me. So they're hosting this year in Poland, in Philippines, in Asian Summit, as well as in Caribbean. So we are moving forward and it's very, very successful.
Oh my God, I love your comments so much. Voice like velvet. Her eyes totally light up when she talks about children. I mean, she just genuinely loves the children so much. It's so nice. And I know a lot of you were thinking like, oh my God, it's uncanny how much Erica and Melania look alike. I know, it's so weird. Um, Owen, I love her. I love that she, you know, focuses so much on the kids.
I think it's great to have her focusing on positive causes like that. I think that's the typical thing that you'd want your First Lady to be focused on. And I think it was interesting to me when she said First Lady, First Ladies, I was a little confused. I'm like, are you meeting with Jill Biden? What's going on there? And then she clarified by saying, oh, it's Poland and other places. I'm like, okay, other First Ladies around the world, not previous First Ladies. Because when I hear first ladies, I, I think of past presidents, but, um, makes a lot more sense now.
But yeah, you know, it's so sweet.
Yeah, she's great.
Yeah. Marcella?
No, I, I love the fact that she's actually making a difference. Um, she could just sit by and, you know, be beautiful all by herself, but she's actually making a difference. She works hard to do all this and She's done a lot for Ukrainian children during the war, and even Vladimir Putin is really happy to see her. Well, there's, you know, to talk over the different things in regards to the children because they realize that she actually cares. And I'm glad that she's doing this.
I am too. I am too. I like to see her. And I think she rang the bell today at the stock exchange, which is nice. New York is a disaster when the Trumps are in town, let alone like the UN being in session. But oof, the chaos. Okay, so I had to play that. That All In Summit is such a gift. I'm telling you what great information we get out of there. I do like doing space news. I don't know why. I just feel like it's so exciting right now between SpaceX and NASA and And it was such a fascinating— not subject, but it was such a fascinating time back in the day for people to talk about space exploration and everything. And then I feel like, I don't know, everyone got lazy and quiet about it, but there's such a resurgence of space stuff happening now that I like focusing on it again because it's just something we— I don't know, it's like when you go on an airplane and you're like, Holy shit, I'm in this giant metal tube flying through the sky. Like all of a sudden you're like, how did that happen? And I just feel that way about space. So now we have, what do we have? We have Space Force. And now there's another one that Trump created called—
AI Force.
AI Force, is it? Or is it now SI Force?
Superintelligence Force. It's supposed to be renamed.
Yeah, maybe they'll rename it. But I think what I heard, what I saw in the headlines was AI Force.
Okay. All right. So he'll have to redo the logos, I'm sure. But anyway, so Jared Isaacman from NASA spoke at the All In Summit with Chamath Palihapitiya. And let's just hear what NASA is up to. It's really freaking exciting. Let's go.
And in the service of the first A in NASA, we are rebuilding our X-plane fleet. The X-59 is researching quiet supersonic flight, but it's flight's just the beginning as NASA recommits to flight tests and works alongside industry to push the boundaries of airframe and propulsion design. It will not be long before NASA is flying once again as high and as fast as we have from decades past, and then even more.
You showed a picture of the Blackbird up there, and—
You sure that's a Blackbird?
Well, okay. What was that picture that you showed up there?
Like I said, NASA's getting back in the business. I mean, that doesn't seem like a space vehicle.
It seems like an Earth-air vehicle.
Yeah. So, uh, the first A in NASA is our, is our aeronautics portfolio. And what we've contributed to over the decades, you may not realize this. Look, when you go see an F-22 fly at an air show and wow you, the fly-by-wire technology was us. The, you know, thrust vectoring technology was us. Uh, NASA's been contributing to breakthroughs in aeronautics for decades. Both civil, commercial, and national security applications for a long time. Again, kind of similar to the same theme, over the years, we've been forced to spend our aeronautics budget on subsidizing high TRL efforts from big prime contractors. An engine that's 40 years old, they want to squeak 3% more fuel efficiency out of it, get NASA to pay for it. I'm like, are you kidding? There is no way we are doing that. You can underwrite that investment yourself for competitive reasons.
You know what I want to do?
I want to get back to the radical airframe and engine designs like we were always supposed to do. And you're getting a little bit of a taste for that.
I love it. That makes me excited, right, Marcella? Right. I love it.
Very excited with his thrust and all that information about the air, the new boost and everything else.
You're getting yourself in trouble again, Marcella.
The thrusters, propulsion.
Propulsion. Oh my gosh, tell me more. But I mean, it would be— he is actually like, he, he sits there all like he's not saying something. So the things that he's just saying to them is like, it's explosive. The fact that he's changing how many years? Like, I don't know how long NASA has been around, but at least 50 years, 60 years. So I mean, the fact that he has taken— is going to take NASA to a different um, like a different road where you're actually gonna do more experimental, more, more things within, in, in-house versus outhouse, uh, versus outs— outside, uh, like Boeing and all the other, um, companies. I mean, this is, this is thrilling for me because I love space.
Yeah.
And it means that there's going to be more innovation, which there hasn't been. Um, I think SpaceX and Elon and Bezos' Blue Origin has really helped in pushing NASA to that direction.
Owen?
Yeah, I was going to make a similar point that I think, you know, certainly a big part of the reason behind a lot of this not happening for such a long time was the Challenger disaster. And that was a tragic event. I totally understand why that happened, but it was also a huge setback for NASA. That just for decades, really, they didn't do very much because everybody was afraid to try and put another space shuttle up or have another disaster. And, you know, what that would mean politically and economically and everything else. And so I'm really glad to see this huge resurgence. And I was going to make a similar point about like these billionaires jumping in the game has really changed the picture. I think that's really what spurred it all on was having Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos say, you know what, we're going to do this space stuff.
Yeah.
And we're going to develop this technology in a way where it's a lot cheaper, it's a lot better, and it's—
Oh, and come back to the microphone.
Sorry.
He's in the spaceship.
And it's a lot better than the previous technology because there's, I think, have been behind-the-scenes developments on a lot of these things that have gotten a lot better over the decades. And so now they're applying them back to this space domain. And I think now we're seeing these really advanced satellites. We have space weapons. We have this new plane that apparently is some secret thing. And so yeah, it is a really exciting time to see what they're going to be doing. And I don't think it's accidental that they modeled the uniforms after Starship Troopers, that they're really thinking we're going to be headed out to space. And we'll have to see where it goes. I think there's a lot probably still left to learn because everything I've read about people in space, says we're really not ready to have people like living in space. Like, I don't think we really understand the impact on the human body as well as we need to and how to counter some of the bad effects that they've already seen. And so I think we need to figure a lot of things out, but I think the only way to figure it out is to get up there. So, you know, I think there's a lot of brave men and women that are willing to do that and help us advance that. And maybe we will end up with a base on the moon or on Mars someday. Which I never would have said like 10 years ago. I would have been like, never, never, we're not going to do that, you know? But now, now it's like, yeah, sure, maybe we will.
Send me, send me.
But yeah. Oh, and you're right. Like, this is what I'm saying. Like, think about it. Like, we, we would be like, oh yeah, we're gonna go to Mars. There's little Martians there and whatever. But now we're like, oh shit, like we might be going to Mars or the moon or wherever. Um, it's a, it's a possibility for sure. So that, um, that vehicle If you will, was called the SR-71 Blackbird. So we'll have to look into that further. Any space freaks, look into stuff and send us information. I love it. I can't even believe I'm loving all this space stuff, but I really am.
I'm so happy you are.
It's so amazing. And I don't think we should take it for granted that these things are happening. And I feel like maybe, you know, so I totally agree. After the Challenger blew up, everything got really stale. Everything just seemed like it And obviously they were afraid to fund it and everything else. But I do think that with Elon having SpaceX and Bezos, and I don't know, like now maybe it feels better for NASA. Like we're not the only ones and, you know, we can kind of work together on things and see what the other person's doing. I mean, for God's sake, Biden left that astronaut up in space and Elon's like, I'll go get him. Like you know, first they're like no, and it's like dude, there's a a guy up there. Like we have to go get them. You can't just leave them there. So yeah, he's like yes we can. I know, but it's like yeah, he he could just stay there for longer.
We won't charge him.
They've got another week's worth of food up there. So anyway, I I like that there's actually a bit of a space force, you know here.
But I was gonna say though, this goes back to— and one thing we don't mention is, is the, is the Trumpian, uh, perspective and, and, and persuasion of all this. Because one of the things that you brought up earlier today, Erica, is the helipad was never there, and how come nobody's ever thought of building it? The same with NASA, the same with different things. Like, I think It's like, get things and break them and figure out what efficient— how efficiently something can work and build it. You know, we have builders in the government now. We don't have politicians. We don't have, you know, bureaucrats. We have builders. And one of the builders is President Trump. And so is Isaacman. And, you know, he's building. And I think it all goes together. I love it. Like, nobody has ever thought of a ballroom. Nobody ever thought of the— of women and their high heels, you know?
I know. I mean, the helipad is like the most obvious thing. It's, it's crazy to me. I used to always think like, oh God, they got to be careful. The, the grass is dewy. Like, he's got, you know, you're wearing— men wear flat-bottom shoes. I'm like, he could slip and fall and it'll be like embarrassing for him. And then it'll be like, you know—
It's actually safer too. I, I don't know the exact Um, like information on it, but something about the helicopter that it was always— they always put something on the grass for it to know where to land, but it wasn't that easy for the, the pilot to do it. Now it's easier, obviously, and it was security issue too.
Yeah, and it just looks really nice also. So I like all of it. I like the presidential seal. Very good. Well done. Well done. Um, and the ballroom's gonna be amazing as It's absolutely necessary. I don't care what they put under it. If it's like a bunker with like all this security stuff, have at it. Go ahead. It's the frickin' White House.
No one sends improvements.
Yeah.
Like, hello. All right. So we did it. We did it, you guys. Tomorrow we have a fun little clip to show you, a little something something. And we'll be back, the 3 of us tomorrow. Thank you. We did it. We are so happy to get over hump day with you guys. Owen and Marcella, thank you for being here. Owen, I know you have to run. Let me hurry up. So as always, a closing sip and thank you. Sorry, a closing thank you to Scott and Shelley for allowing this show to continue. We love it. We appreciate it. And let's have a closing and useful sip to our beloved Scott Adams. We love you, Scott. We miss you. To Scott.
Scott.
Yeah, you'll get the big announcement tomorrow. Yes, and I'm not pregnant. Geez, don't start rumors. That's crazy town. That ship has sailed, people.
Okay, so see you later.
Thanks. Bio. Um, all right, so you guys, should we do an Akira song? What do we think? What do we think? Let's see. Let's see. Pick a song. Pick a song.
Oh my God! You know what he?
You know what kind of song he needs to do? He needs to do one that says "Be useful." Yeah.
If Akira's here listening with him, I did say something about that. Quantum Dragon. Yes, I'll let my baby decide its gender. Thank you very much. Joke. You guys are so funny. Cha-ching! You want?
What is gender?
I see two cha-chings. Let's go, cha-chingers.
Da da da.
Here we go.
Akira.
It's not music; it's music plus. How do you like being criticized? You hate it, don't you? Don't you hate getting criticized? Everybody hates it. It's not something you can enjoy. Here's a reframe for you. Every criticism you receive, just play this sound effect when you get it. Ready?
Stretching. Stretching. Catchy, catchy, catchy, catchy, catchy, catchy.
Every time somebody criticizes you, you just made money. Do you know why I say that? Because you just made money.
It's true.
If somebody criticizes my live streams, and I'll tell you the biggest criticism I've Is that my shelves are boring? Now, do I feel good that you're telling me that there's something about my thing that I do every day isn't good?
No.
Nobody likes to be criticized. It's not like you can enjoy it. But how do I receive it? Do I receive it as, "Oh, I guess I suck." I could. Right? How easily could I receive a criticism like that as like that? God, I'm an idiot. Why didn't I see it? Obviously, those shells need something on them. That'd be really easy, wouldn't it? I don't.
I know.
I know.
Here's how I hear it.
Catching. Catching. Catching. Catching. Catching.
I know exactly what to change to do a better job because you told me. That's like money. If somebody hands you a thing that will definitely make you money, what is your feeling about it? You feel, oh, I hate it when people give me a thing.
I hate the criticism because it's the only thing that makes me make money.
I'll bet most of you think exactly that.
You think, I hate the criticism because it's the only thing that makes me make money.
Not me. Years ago, when people would criticize my comic, I would hate it, of course, but then I would say, oh, a lot of people are saying the same thing, so I'll change it. And then I would make that change, and that made me rich. Literally got rich by being criticized and understanding the criticism as cha-ching, cha-ching, cha-ching, cha-ching, cha-ching, cha-ching, cha-ching, cha-ching, cha-ching, cha-ching, cha-ching.
Cha-ching! Cha-ching! Cha-ching!
Every time I hear one, I say, wait a minute, you just told me how to get richer. The same applies if you're not trying to get rich. Suppose you just wanted a better social life. The best advice somebody gave me was the cruelest thing anybody ever said. One day my female friend told me how negative I was and what a bummer it was to listen to me because I was complaining about stuff all the time. I was not aware that I was a big complainer. I have no idea. I thought I was a person who talked about my day, the funny parts of it. So in my mind, I had no idea that I was having an effect on other people. Once I learned that, do you know how powerful that was? I was able, because it was something I could change, I would become aware of the ratio of negative things I said to positive.
Cha-ching!
It was probably the most important change I've ever made to my Social toolbox. I would say that that one change really, really changed my life. That's the, that's the refrain. So the next time you get criticized, whether Personally, or whether professionally, say to yourself, say to yourself, say to yourself, cha-ching, cha-ching. Just try it. Like, actually say that, that little sound. Cha-ching. Not figuratively. I'm not talking figuratively. I mean, actually say that.
Cha-ching, cha-ching, cha-ching.
Cha cha cha ching. That was my two cents, you guys. I love cha ching. That's fun. And someone said there's no Akira songs you can dance to. That was it right there. Okay, you guys, let's go. Just one little thing and you're, you're changing your direction. I love it. Marcela, are you gonna have an amazing day?
I hope so. I am gonna have an amazing day.
