A student whose parents went to college in Turkey initially resisted starting college prep early, thinking it was too soon. Their mother pushed them toward a college-readiness website anyway. Now they say it was the best decision they made.

My mom had asked me if I wanted to do, um, like a college preparedness website or like a preparedness place that would help me maybe build my college resume. I always told my mom, hey, it's too early. Hey, like, I don't think I need one. Like, I don't know anybody who has one. And when in reality, I think, I think it was the best decision I made. Um, it was always just like, oh, it's too early for that. And at last my mom was like, hey, like, you don't really know what to do. And I— not— it's not your fault, but I think it's something that we need support in because my mom and my dad both didn't go to college here. They both went to college in Turkey, so they couldn't support me in any regard.
