I do really believe 100% from every part of me that everyone has the capacity to be able to do the things that they want and not to be held back by the mental baggage that's in our head that we want to push through.
Welcome to the do the thing podcast. In each episode, we get down and personal with people who go after the things they want to make all their wildest dreams come true. Join us as we unveil and dissect a formula for what it takes to do the thing. Here is your host, Stacy Lauren.
Welcome to the Not a start a podcast challenge. We have delayed the start a podcast challenge for a few months, and the go getter do the thingers were like, wait, what are you doing? We were really excited about starting the podcast, and please will you still keep going and not wait for two months? And so that's where this was pretty much created was from. You guys really wanting this. And so we decided to do just a little mini zoom and help you that want to start before the challenge actually starts. I still plan on doing the startup podcast challenge, but there were so many people that weren't ready yet. And so I'm having them do a find your voice challenge first, and it'll be just them recording voice notes in their phone, and then they'll get an opportunity to talk to people as well. And then the people that want to continue on and actually start a podcast will come with us on the journey, and the people that feel sufficient after the find your voice will just kind of find their voice and not continue on. And so anyway, so you guys are all here, and I'm really excited because for any of you that have been following my podcast. Oh, my God, you guys. My podcast literally reset my life. Everything sort of began when I started my podcast. It opened up all these doors. I got to meet all these amazing people. It's something that I'm really passionate about. And I posted this in the group. I don't know if you guys saw it, but I used to own a company for 20 years, and I spent so much money, hundreds of thousand dollars on training, personal growth, development for my employees, for me, for everything. And me having a podcast is by far the most enriching, rewarding growth that I've had. And the coolest thing is it's literally free. It costs no money. So it's the craziest thing that more people don't do it. I just don't think people understand how easy it is. The person that runs the platform for this podcast is just really Generous and giving and really wants to help people start their own podcasts. And so the way that he set it up has made it really easy to be able to. To start. And so we got to hear from a few of you guys, and it's already amazing in terms of what you already know about wanting to start the podcast, because I think a lot of people have a hard time even knowing how to start. And so I'd love to just continue on with where we started and wanted you guys to meet Matthew. Matthew and I had actually just recorded an episode last week, and we met at a retreat that we both went to a few years ago, and he did a really in the episode. I can't wait to share it. I'm actually pushing it forward. Normally I batch them and it takes me months to publish, but I'm pushing his forward because he actually speaks to the find your voice and for your voice thing. And you know what, Matthew, do you mind? Totally putting you on the spot right now, but I feel. I'm feeling this moment right now. We did an exercise, actually, after the podcast was over and the recording button was off, where he did getting you out of your head and into your heart. Yeah. Do you mind kind of putting us through that? Is that okay?
Yeah, let's do it. While you put me on the spot on the podcast. And that was a huge step for me, so thank you for that. And, yeah, this little exercise is part of a protocol that I've been studying called the human garage maneuvers, and it's a simple one that I'll share with you today. It's just to kind of move the energy from your head to your heart, kind of get more embodiment going on. So it's just a quick set of breaths, and we'll put our hands, our left hand on our head and our right hand on our heart, and we'll take three breaths through the mouth, starting now.
Two, Three.
Now through the nose.
Two.
Three. So hopefully that calmed you down a little bit, relax your nervous system. And, yeah, you can fit that into any time during your day or before a big event or a podcast or something like that. So, yeah, a little tip.
Yeah. And thank you. I think this is what, to me my podcast has done for me is I literally was in the middle of creating the find your voice challenge. And the whole challenge. Randy knows this. She helped create the packet. So thanks, Randy. The whole challenge is about getting out of your head and into your heart. And so it really. I think we finished it the day before Matthew and I did Our interview. And then we turned the recording off, and he did this exercise, and I'm like, hello, universe. Like, it's just so crazy to me how when you speak things out loud, it's like all of a sudden it appeared. And so anyway, it's.
It's.
It's been an amazing opportunity. I wanted to introduce you guys to Atira. She is my co host today. And I don't know, we're still kind of gonna figure out how this is working. But the reason why I asked her to co host, she's one of the brains behind Challenge Makers, which is the company that helps me do some of my challenges and actually inspired the do the thing challenge from the beginning. And. Oh, my God. I'm going to let you explain the story, but we're pretty much in the middle of creating the start of podcast challenge, and why don't we have you share kind of where your role is? And with this Atira, if you don't mind my role.
Be honest, Stacey. I don't understand it 100%. We just do the thing as you decide. And I love it. It's a great ride, which is kind of.
It's like riding the wave, right?
It is. It's a fun wave. I just love everything you come up with, Stacy. It's always so fun. We started with the start a podcast, built all those assets, and kind of wanted to test the find your voice thing first. So maybe then we'll further build out that one as you then do the podcast challenge. But then in the middle of it, Stacy was like, make your own podcast. You gotta make your own podcast and you gotta do it. And I was like, okay, sure. So Stacy got me to make my own too, and it's been fun.
It's just snarkle, actually. I love your podcast.
Yeah.
Randy loves it.
Thank you.
It's so funny.
I love. Just.
So natural. And it's so much fun just to let you.
Yeah. And I think the thing that I really like about Tira's part of the story is that when we first met and we were doing it one of our first meetings, you know, I really. In order for you to really get engaged with this whole idea of the challenge, I really want you guys to start your own podcast because it's a tier and her best friend Alicia, that run the company. And you do remember your reaction when I first said it. And then, what are you talking about? Evolved? Should I harass you in the first video?
I did. She did. She just kept like, you should start a podcast. And I think once you kind of framed it to me that you're like, you don't have to have a business to do that. And I was like, okay, I love to talk to people. And I was like, I've always kind of wanted to do something like that. Like, I've always like listening to podcasts. And I was like, this would be really cool, but I have nothing to say. And Stacy's like, you have plenty to say. And then we just kind of in 15 minutes, decided I was going to make a podcast. And then I did. So. And Stacy was like, let's get on callcasts right now, actually. So I got the push I needed.
Yeah, it's cool, too, because I was in Europe and I met. So to tell before I tell this story, tell them what your podcast is and what it's about for anyone that hasn't looked at it yet.
Okay. It's called so Many Things to Do. And it's just about all the different careers you can do. I know a lot of people in my generation, or even, like, my siblings, who are like, I don't know what to do with my life. And I have the opposite problem where I have raging ADHD and just want to do every other thing every six seconds. So I'm just kind of hoping to show people there's so many different things you can do, and you don't have to do one thing or you can do one thing. And I. Schools are like, you can be a doctor, you can be a lawyer, but there's really so many a million other things you can do. I never would have thought I'd be doing what I am now. I didn't even know this was a form of a job. I'm just writing packets and emails for Stacy one day and posting dog pictures the next. So this fun stuff like that. Did I answer your question? I kind of forgot what I totally did.
Yeah.
And I love the idea. I think the reason this pot of your podcast really resonates me the most is like, having teenagers right where you, you, you. Everyone tells you, what do you want to be when you grow up? And it's exhausting for a kid to hear that. And then I'm also running the singles community where a lot of people are getting reset. Right. They just were broken down, and then now they're coming out of their shell and figuring out who they want to be, and there's so many things to do. And so the cool thing was I then met someone. So Chira was moving. She was in action. She did her episode, she actually did it on video, which was crazy, because I. I don't even know how you did that. And it was so fun because so many things to do. She's making jewelry as she's doing the episode, which I thought was literally the most perfect thing to do because it's so many things to do. And then I saw that she'd scheduled an interview with her best friend. She hadn't had it yet. Now she has, and it's. It's unbelievable. And I was in Europe. I met someone. We were in Lyon, France, and my daughter and I were on this food tour. And the guy was literally a representative of so many things to do, where he was saying, I don't remember everything he does, but he does all these things. And I mentioned it to a tear. I'm like, can I connect you? I'd love to have you interview him. And I didn't. What I didn't pick up was the part which she told me. And I don't know if the interview will happen, but still, the idea of this was crazy. She's like, oh, my God, so many things to do is now international. And you're like, oh, my God, you're right. You just don't know where it's going to lead. And then once you get that one interview, then all of a sudden, new things sort of flood from that. And so, anyway, I'd love to. I really just wanted you guys to hear that, because I think it went from her being like, why would I want to start a podcast? To, oh, wait, this is actually really cool, you know, and whether or not.
She'Ll keep on going.
Yeah, yeah. Whether or not she decides to keep it going, it doesn't matter. Do 10 episodes and see how it feels. So that's what I. That's what I'm really trying to encourage people. So we have 30 minutes, you guys. I. From talking to a few of you already, it seems like you have a really good idea already, most of you, of what you want to do. So I. What I would love to do is we could just go. I could share my screen. No, no, no. I'm going to have one of you share your screen. We're going to walk you through you setting up your. Your podcast in Callcast. And if we need to break up in rooms, I think we can break up in rooms. But if we don't, then we'll do it just all together. So who wants to be the ultimate guinea pig of. Yes.
Pointing to ear?
Hello.
Are you Mimi? That's Mimi. I'm Mimi. Nice to be good. So nice to meet you. I love your tables. Thank you. So I think you'll be. Why don't you share? I'll share who you share, who you are, what you do, and then we'll. I just made it possible for you to share your screen.
Do you do your typical intro?
All right, well, all right, everybody.
Well, hey, I'm Mimi Dara and I'm the founder of Mizon Pero Santo. We are home to the one and only pure Paro Santo candle that supports reforestation while stimulating economies. At their source, we currently offer a variety of aromatherapy products that we pair with scent and sound and rhythmic breathing so you can achieve maximum benefit for the mind, body and spirit. We were born in New York City. We grew in Austin, Texas, and we currently operate out of Ecuador, New Jersey, and soon to be Austin. As we relocate our warehouse and distribution, shipping and all that glorious stuff down to Austin, Texas, attached to a Kundalini yoga center. I enjoy talking. I love doing events. And as the only Paro Santo company worldwide that pairs aromatherapy with the real intention of educating people on the power of the olfactory sense and the connection to the brain and to the memory and how much that can deeply transform our lives, I am on a mission to connect people to that innate creative potential, all the while planting Paro Santo trees. In Ecuador, our reforestation project to date has planted over 100,000 trees. And recently the Minister of environment has just declared the 50 hectares of land that we support over the past four years, which you can check out on YouTube or on our Instagram account, as officially protected. So I'm extremely excited to now offer retreats. I need a podcast so I can my business boost my good intro. Yeah, there's so much more. You know, we are currently evolving. You know, we have been evolving into a lifestyle brand. We're way more than a candle company. We have become a lifestyle. So it really is a vibe and we bring it. So I'm here to bring it to.
More and more, and I love that. And just so you guys kind of see how easy these connections are, right? Just by showing up to a meeting like this right now, you all know each other. And so Nicole mentioned before, I think we started recording her podcast, she wants it to be on rewriting your story, right? So Mimi would make an amazing guest for you on your podcast if you decide to interview people. And so that's just how easy it is to get connections. And then whoever Mimi has in her network, guess what? Now they're in your network. And that's what's cool. It just expands with each person you meet. And so that's just kind of the idea that I wanted you guys to see. So, yeah, I would love you to, if you're comfortable, share your screen and we'll. We'll get it knocking.
Let me like ex out all the bad stuff.
Hold on.
Yes.
Exit all out.
I never heard it here. Do you feel comfortable kind of talking her through it based on your one time you did this?
Yes, I do.
I think I'm one of those go.
Getter people that when you to do something, I just freaking do it the same. And I'm from New York, you know, what can I say?
We don't get time to wait.
This is my podcast info.
She's done it. Oh, you did it.
Oh, cool.
Yeah, Yeah, I give her a cheat sheet. You know a cheat sheet a lot.
No, that's great. So that's perfect. So this is great. Then everyone can see this one and then we'll have someone else do it. This is actually perfect. I love that. Follow the smoke. What a great name. And show them how it looks. Go to the preview page so they can see.
Where is that at, babe?
To the right. I'm pointing. You're probably pointing to down there you go. Found it. You'll be able to click there and it'll show everyone how it looks. So this is how it looks in Callcast. And then anytime you have an episode, just so you guys can understand the behind the scenes, if you hit publish and your podcast is not published to Apple yet, it will only be in this page. So let's say in the beginning you're not comfortable publishing it to Apple yet, which I recommend you don't. You wait at least till you have three or four, then you can keep it in, call cast, your friends and family, whoever you want to see it, you just need to give them this link and then they'll be able to hear it. By the way, I love your image. That's so good. Oh my God, that's so good. And so, so, yeah, so that's just an example of, of so then once she publishes it to Apple, and that's the part we'll get on a zoom again when you guys are ready to do that. And then probably Adam will be there. There's just some. It's like a five minute thing. But once it's connected, then every time you hit publish in Callcast, it will go immediately get published to Apple and Spotify. And so it's just a really easy, easy process. So yeah, Mimi, do you want to go back to the other screen? And then we'll just. I think if you just click on the tab. Callcast tab up there. Yeah, there you go. Yeah. So pretty much Randy, whoever's next, this is basically the system that we're going to be following with you guys. Okay, so your next step now is you're going to do the intro. Have you done one yet.
As far.
As what is your intro?
No, I did not record an intro.
Perfect.
That'll be the next thing.
Hey, it's Mimi.
Hola.
You know, do your thingy.
So, yeah, so my intro. What's up guys? It's Mimi D. From Miz Omparo Santo.
I take it from there.
So that basically represents the four languages that have something to do with my life. French, because.
Spanish, porque.
You know, 10 years in Ecuador. Salam, because also my husband is from Morocco and our first business was there in Nihau because I taught English in.
China for many years. Yeah, many years. I have that.
And I just think it's a really cool way. People love it. I don't know if it'll. For the podcast, but I would love to.
Yeah.
Try it out.
Yeah, no, I love that. And then when you do your first episode, we'll talk about that actually next, I think, because your first episode will just be you talking and just saying like, why you want to start it. What's led you to this point?
Can I ask two questions?
Uh huh. You know how you said give us your intro Is your intro. Stacy, how you said I'm 100% believe everybody has. Yeah. And thanks for clarifying that. Thanks for clarifying it. I. I keep using the word intro incorrectly. That is my intro. When I say intro, I mean your first episode. So your first episode for me was I just did it in my car because I was delaying it forever. And so my, my first episode. So I'll. I'll change the language because I think it is so confusing. I know Randy and I are getting confused. When we were doing the startup podcast, when we were doing all the assets for this. So that's a. It's like a five to seven minute. This is who I am. This is why I'm doing it. You guys don't even need an intro until you've been going. Cause you can always add it after.
The intro and the outro for the actual podcast episode.
Yeah. And you guys don't even need to worry about that yet. Okay, so who would like to go ahead and be the one, the guinea pig to put their podcast in callcast. And everyone will actually watch you do it. You don't need to know everything. I will help you, guide you through it.
Okay.
No, Stephanie, you're raising your hand because you were at the.
I'll do it.
So I would love it. That would be great. Yeah. So you should be able to share your screen, too. Thank you so much, Mimi, for sharing really great progress. That's huge for everyone to see. It's huge for everyone to see where you're at. No, I'm.
I'm really looking forward to it.
Yeah.
Thank you so much. Thank you for the opportunity and thank you for sharing this guidance and education. It's really well received.
Thank you. I'm excited. I should have had.
Okay, so I have nothing done. Nothing.
That's great.
I'm not even signed up or anything.
So I want it. Yeah. Oh, Atira. So can you. Can you walk her through so she remembered where we did it wrong the first time?
Yes. Okay.
Share your screen. The reason why this is important is because if we can make this work with you guys, when the start of podcast challenge starts and there's 500 people, we're gonna get any kinks out that we have today. Yeah, that's what. The other thing that got me to delay it, I just felt there could be this technical thing, and I really wanted to practice it with a smaller group. So that's why this is. You guys are the guinea pigs.
Perfect.
All right. I'm here for it. Okay. So I need to sign up, I guess.
Yes.
So, Atira, what's the first step?
Believe it's under login.
Okay. And Randy, do you want to kind of go through the instructions, too, just to make sure?
Yeah, let me get them up.
Okay.
Actually. Oh, it's the little people, right?
Yeah.
Yeah, you hit the little people.
There you go. It is.
Okay. All right.
Yeah. Because it was. It was doing something funky. Yeah.
And then this is kind of a process. So it's not just whatever we do with Stephanie right now, you're all going to be able to kind of have the same kind of thought process will be the good. The good thing. So you'll be able to learn from it. And then I think we should have time. We'll see. We should have time to do all of you at the same time if it works. But I'm hoping it will. Oh, this is. So that's the thing. Randy, with the country code. Was that one? Yeah, yeah. Plus one.
Plus one.
So just add a Plus there.
Oh, it's gotta be a plus, too. Okay, there we go.
We did it. Oh, my God. Okay, good. And now there's a little tribe, little RSS feed underneath the little microphone. Dude, up top on this.
One more.
Yeah, this right here. Oh, here.
Yep.
Yeah. Okay. Do you know the name of your podcast?
He's, like, so excited. Look, I have my name.
Yeah, I have something.
Is it Randy? Is it. Can there be spaces in this?
Yeah. Okay, cool.
And then what is your podcast about? I love that name. Oh. Oh, I know what you're doing.
I know what she's doing.
I remember now. This is great.
I'm not exactly sure, but I can just put anything here and change it, right?
Yeah, like.
Yeah, tell us what. Tell us what it's about, and then you can just start writing it down. Basically. Okay.
It's really going to be about sex, love, and relationships in this second.
I.
Guess part of your life after a breakup or divorce, really finding your pleasure through all different parts of your life, but really around sex, love, and relationships.
So.
Well, you just need to add some punctuation there. And that sounds like me in the last two years.
Well, I like what you wrote, Stacey.
I like what you wrote. Yeah, that's where. That's what she just said.
Oh, yeah, no, I know.
I don't. I don't see what. Never.
I was like, oh, I like what she wrote. Yeah, it came from. I just typed word for word what you said. I think I'm gonna have to listen to your podcast.
Me too.
I've been married 25 years. I could use something new.
Well, you'll be coming to the right place.
I think it's so needed. I just. I think it's needed.
You're.
It's a good point, Nicole. It's not just for people that have been divorced. I think it's needed for everyone to be able to hear. Hear things.
Absolutely. So, yeah. Maybe even just in the second part of your life, Right?
Yeah. No, it's a good point.
I mean, it really could be for anybody, but, you know, I mean, just to have kind of a target market so people can identify.
Yeah, no, I love it. And then your subtitle. That could be anything. What would be something that speaks to you right now?
Finding pleasure in every area of your life.
Love it.
And I don't know if you've met. You've probably seen Genesis and some of our dating challenges. She would be good to reach out to her and do an interview. Have you. Have you seen her in the dating challenge?
Yeah, I've seen her. I've seen her name and stuff.
I'll give you her email. She'd be a good one to connect with.
And I'll forward a bunch of people that I know that would be really interested for you to interview with them.
Okay, so who's creating this?
That's you. Or you.
I mean Stephanie and Stacy.
Which is.
My sister's name, so I'm used to that.
Okay, so this isn't published. The itunes email, it's just. Right. It's only for itunes to, you know, to connect. Just so you know, you're not going to get a thousand. Yeah.
Eventually you will with people asking about sex now.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Well, you know, I'm putting it out there, so.
No, it's great.
Okay. Categories. Education. I would say self improvement.
Oh, yeah, I like that. Yeah, that's good.
Okay.
Episodic.
Yeah, episodic.
Yeah. And definitely explicit language.
Yes.
All you guys are all going to want to do explicit language, unless it's specifically for kids. And then here, you can say yes for that. It won't happen. Right now there's a special thing. Okay, great. So now we get to do your image. Do you want to just go to Google right now and. Yeah, okay. And then just go. What is it again? Maybe it's like Canvas Canva podcast cover images and it'll. It'll pull up a template is how it'll work.
But I could create my own, like in Canva.
Oh, yeah.
I'm gonna show you, you all a really easy way to do it. This is how mine was created. I do eventually need to redo it because it's a Halloween color. But, I mean, it doesn't matter. I've been doing it for a year. It's fine for now. Yeah. Oh, say free. Oh, that one might be good. You wanna find the free one?
Yeah, free. Go down. Go down to, like, down. Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
Not the ad.
Find the Canva link. It's right at the bottom.
Yeah, it's right underneath at the Canva. All the way down. Free and customizable podcast. Thank you.
And then for those of you that don't do it today, we do have an SOP that is. It does give everything, detail by detail. But I wanted to walk you through it on this video first. Okay. So now pick. Pick what looks like the. You'll put your name and you'll put the name of it on there.
I mean, I can change this anytime.
Yeah, totally. I'm just doing it to get it.
On here right now.
Absolutely. Yeah. I'm just showing them how easy it is to do it. No, this is awesome, Stacy. Because my friend who started a podcast.
She said this was the hardest part.
Yeah. For a loop. She said, like Apple's real particular. And it just. It kind of scared me. And I. And I never started. That's exactly why I do this, because I want to. Anything that could be a bottleneck for you guys, I want you to see how easy it is to do the thing.
Right.
And so now you're just gonna change soultalk to the name of yours. I love the way this looks, by the way. That looks great.
We'll make it.
Make it.
Yeah, I'll make it smaller.
You've used canvas. Stephanie.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I could see. She knows. She knows.
Such a great name.
Thank you.
And then. And feel free to do it anywhere you want. Pretty much where it says every Sunday. That would probably be good to put your name there.
Yeah. And. And then maybe do I do this?
Oh, you can do it at midnight.
And you could type the tagline you had.
That's what I was going to do there.
Yeah.
That's great.
Yeah. Nicole Canva is so easy to use, so that really.
Thank you, Matthew. Matthew just gave everyone the link, so that's easy for you guys.
Thank you to it.
So cool.
I have one question about titles. Do you include podcasts at the end of it or leave it out? If I'm the b. Sage podcast, is it just better to be. Be Sage with Matthew Cannon or.
Yeah, that's a great question. I think normally you leave it out. I'm looking at podcasts right now. Most of them don't have podcast in it. I mean.
Oh, extra.
Gregory's in the group. His is the Dare to Dream podcast. So they have it. I think it depends on what you want.
Cool goal.
That's a good question, though. And that's where. That's the whole idea. I think you bring up a good point, Matthew. It's kind of cool, right? Because this is yours. You don't have to do what everyone else is doing either. Right. You can just kind of see what people don't realize with a podcast. You can evolve it so Stephanie can create this today. It could even be published. And you could change the image so it can evolve along the way. Create it, do it, and then you can change anything as you're going. If that makes sense.
Yeah, perfect. That helps me in a lot of ways because, yeah, thinking stuff's concrete. And then if you make the wrong Choice. But there's kind of ways to. To patch it up or just shift and adapt.
Yeah, yeah. Anything can be changed.
That's what I always tell myself. No matter what, you can.
And you can unpublish things and republish them.
Totally.
Yeah.
I unpublished because I hadn't released the do the Thing formula yet. And so I kept publishing episodes and realizing, oh, my God, I have the formula in there. I have to wait. And then I kept unpublishing. It was annoying, but it happened. So I'm done. Do I. Yeah. So now I think if you click on Share, I think it'll have a download button up there.
Yep.
In the top, right?
To the right. This is share.
Yeah. There should be a download and then.
Download if you go down a little. And then that's fine. You can just leave it like that because it is as a PNG right now, right?
Yeah.
Just download it. Yeah. And you've got your image there.
Black and blue. Pink. Okay.
You can rename it just so I.
Can find it for right now. Yeah. Okay.
Okay. And now you're going to go back to Callcast.
See where that is, because you can see I have lots of tabs.
I see the yellow one right there. I see the yellow one right next to it.
Yeah.
And then you're just gonna choose the file and put that bad boy in there.
Yeah, try that. That looks.
There we go.
Like, it's working. Success. So, hey, this is great. I'm actually glad this is happening because I want you guys to be able to see what to do, because once it's set up, it's set up.
Right.
So. So once she hits submit, she'll have the link where she can already start to. Perfect. This is great. Oh, and now we can show you how to get back in, too. So if you go to log in.
Now and use your phone.
Use your phone. Yeah. Perfect. So we get to see this whole thing through.
So do I put mine.
Oh, your phone number. Okay.
With the number one.
Like the plus one.
Yeah.
And this is just a security thing you do every time you log in, which is good because you don't want someone else jacking with your podcast.
Yeah.
And now if you go to the third one down, the RSS feed.
The rainbow.
Yeah, yeah. And so go to preview page. And so we just need to. Once your image is uploaded, that'll be there, and then all your episodes will be there. So it's super exciting. I'd love Brandy. Do you mind staying on with her a few more minutes after we end Just. Yeah, so you can upload it. Okay, cool. So for Mimi and for Stephanie, your homework assignment this week, if you want, is to do your first episode. And pretty much you're just. We have instructions. We can, we can post those in the group if you want. But pretty much it's just, hey, this is why I'm doing it. This is what I'm doing. This is what inspired me. This is what I want you to get out of it. It's just do it wherever you're going to do it. Don't worry about a mic. I have no mic. I had no mic for the first hundred episodes.
I do have a mic. Perfect.
That's great. And so I finally got a mic. But you don't need a mic to have a podcast. That's just bullshit.
Excuse me?
I could mine on the phone. I did my short little 2 minute info on the phone, which I'm staring.
At you to get you to do it. That's how I want you to do it. So, yeah, so that's your guys's homework assignment. Everyone else, I would love it. It would bring me so much joy. So much joy. If you, after this call is done, you pretty much just follow the same instructions. The video will be in the live, it'll be recorded, so you can just fast forward, rewind and follow it. And then if you get stuck at any point, just post in the group or email me for those of you that have my email and just say, oh, I got stuck here. Because I'd love it if you guys actually do get set up. And I don't care if you don't know your exact name or what it's about or what you're doing yet. Even if you just put in your name and that was all you did. That's at least something. So just know that's. That's kind of what I'm. I'd love for you guys to do. So does anyone have any, any questions before we. And no, I'm almost done. I just have to make my little image in Canva. So thanks for posting the link, but I wanted, I want to do the homework too. So when you record your first podcast, do you do it on your video? Do you do it on the memo if you use your phone or. Yeah, so you can do it. So you could do it in Callcast. There is that option. You can also do it on your phone, on the voice recording. Exactly. You could do it in Zoom. It's just whatever, Whatever's going to be the easiest for you. When I Do my self reflective episodes. I pretty much always do em on my phone. Cause it's hard for me. I can't do it on my. I can't sit on my computer, talk in my computer. It's just too hard. But if you're able to do that, then you can do that too. So whatever works the best for you. Randy, what did you do?
I used to call Cast so you could see the Callcast app on my phone and it was so much easier. I just put it on speaker and I just didn't even look at it. And I just kind of just riffed.
Yeah. And then it's here. You did a full on video so you used your phone for that too?
No, I did it through Zoom. I think we should show them just really quick how to upload because that was super helpful for me.
Okay. Yeah, go ahead and. Yeah, show them.
Okay, let me. No, that's okay.
I can pull it up.
Okay, cool.
I just, I don't have it up but I did mine on Zoom because I wanted the video. And you can, once you finish recording, if we had, you can just say start new meeting on Zoom and then hit record. And then once you are done with the meeting, once you're done talking, it gives you the MP4. So that's what you upload into Callcast.
Yeah. So pretty much if you don't put it in, upload it here and then you name it whatever you want to name it and then you drag the file here pretty much.
So it's the little books. And then upload audio and you also record, if you want to record through Callcast, it's that microphone right here.
And then just you guys see. So you can tell these are all my unpublished episodes. So none of those are even showing up yet anywhere. And then these are the published ones. If I wasn't synced with Apple, these wouldn't even show up in Apple. Right. It's only because they're synced. So it's a really. You're able to control what you show, if that makes sense. Cool.
What about Spotify? Do you put yours on Spotify?
Yeah.
And you'll, you'll get instructions. You'll be able to put on podcast Attic pretty. Mine's on Amazon Music anywhere it's free. It's ridiculous. Anywhere you want your podcast on, it's just a link that you upload. And Adam has a whole thing that we'll send you guys once you kind of get to that point and you'll be able to. All you have to do is upload your podcast everywhere. It costs nothing. It's ridiculous. So with Callcast, it's free. Unless you want to have multiple podcasts. That's the. That's the way that you would spend money on the app. But if you only want one podcast and that's all you want to use, you don't have to pay for it either. So.
Awesome.
All right, guys, well, thank you so much. Feel free to reach out. I'd love you to share in the group when you have it. Share your link of your podcast. I'd love to continue with you on this journey. And then when the. When the start of podcast challenge goes, you can be mentors if you'd like, as people are coming through stuff. So that could be motivation. Cuz that's what. That's what lit me on fire was three weeks in, I had episodes going and someone asked me to be an expert on their startup podcast and I wasn't even published yet.
But by.
I get fulfillment from helping people. So by me helping them, that. That lit me on fire where all of a sudden I just did episode after episode because I got to see it wasn't about me anymore. It was about what the impact you can have. So feel free to let me know when you're interested in that. Thanks, Matthew, for sharing your. Your exercise. I love that I got it on recording this time, so that was a bonus. Yeah. And I'm excited. Yeah. And so share your. Share your links with the group and. Oh good. Kerry just did his. Let's look at his. Here we go. Here. I'm going to share it before we go. Since we. Oh my God, I don't know how to do that. Hold on. How long should it be? Like 30 minutes. Just click the link on the note.
My intro was 10 minutes.
I think mine was like two minutes.
Seriously, whatever you want. I mean, you guys can listen to mine. It was just five minutes. Oh, I love it. That's so cool.
Look how official. So good.
All right.
So yeah, post them in the group. I'd love to see everybody image group and a link to their podcast.
Randy, good point. When the challenge starts, we're gonna have an. So if for those of you that have businesses too, that want to market, it's going to be a great opportunity to. And actually, if you want guests, we're gonna have an rss, we're gonna go aggregator of all the podcasts that were created. So then you guys can reach out to each other for interviews, but then also listen to podcasts if you want to have reviews and different things that you want. You can have it be more of a community type thing. So it'll be really exciting. I just will get back on it. I just wanted to see what the technical stuff was too. So this was really great. Thanks for being our guinea pigs.
Yeah.
So fun.
Thank you.
Thank you for like being so motivating and encouraging and just making it fun and easy. I think that is just the key to. To all of it. Right? Is it just gets to be fun.
Yeah.
I was so overthinking this with other people saying it so hard and. Yeah, $5,000 to do it for me.
Yeah.
Don't do me a favor. Don't ask anyone any advice or any. Do what Carrie just did. Just freaking do it. And don't ask anyone anything. And just follow your heart and do that. So do the exercise Matthew had us do and follow yourself.
Don't.
Once you realize that you're asking someone a question, you know, you need to do Matthew's exercise.
What's up?
Six breaths.
Okay.
Yes.
All right.
Thanks, you guys. Bye.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I love you. Thank you. Thank you so much. Thank you.
