This is a short transcript excerpt from a YouTube video by Stefan Georgi (video: "Facebook Ads vs YouTube Ads Compliance Showdown: Which One Is Better To Use For Compliance?", uploaded July 30, 2021). In this Q&A-style segment Stefan responds that Facebook’s ad compliance is strict and often difficult for advertisers, whereas YouTube is described as looser — allowing more "tease-and-click" creatives (he cites Connor Boylan’s dating ads as an example). Stefan admits he is not a policy expert and recommends searching/reading YouTube’s ad policies for specifics.

Ting asked. Facebook has strict compliance issues for advertisers advertising their platform. For instance, you can't tease reader all the way and request them to click on the link to find an answer. Does YouTube allow that? What kind of compliance issues do we need to watch out for on YouTube ads? Yo, this would be a better question for Ben who's not on today. But yeah, Facebook sucks for compliance or so difficult until you get high enough up and have a dedicated reps and stuff like that. Even then it's really tough. Yeah, from my understanding YouTube is a lot looser on that. I know people like Connor Boylan who does a dating product. His ads are basically always just teasing you like hey, these are five things you should never say to a woman that you want to go on a date with. And it's like once you know these you're going to be mad because blah blah, it's like a bunch of almost like fascinations and they never reveal it. So click here to find out what the five things are. So yeah, from my understanding again not as a YouTube ads expert, but you can definitely tease them a lot more with YouTube. You know, as far as compliance issues, I honestly I'm not an expert to share but I'm sure you can find it. You can just google that but it's probably you know, stuff like I don't know. She honestly I just search like YouTube's ad policies and follow what they say or you can do as opposed in the Facebook group ting but I'm just not enough of a Facebook ads expert as far as like you know, the policy stuff goes to really give you a solid answer on that. So I wish I could give you the perfect answer but that's, that's the best. I'd rather be honest and admit if I don't know something right versus.
