I Gave Every Major LLM a Simple Design Test. They All Failed (Except One)

In this video Stefan Georgi challenges a range of popular AI image and design models (ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Claude Design, Nanobanana, and others) to perform a very specific graphic manipulation: shrink a brain icon by 50% and keep it precisely over the "i" in his Stefan Brain logo. He walks through multiple prompt attempts, showing how each model either misplaces the brain, cuts it off, changes colors, or fails to resize it correctly. After a series of frustrating failures, he turns to the Manus model, which eventually succeeds in delivering the correctly sized and positioned brain graphic. Stefan reflects on the current limitations of AI for precise logo work, while also highlighting how his own agentic marketing platform, Stefan Brain, leverages AI for broader creative tasks. The video serves both as a practical demo of model capabilities and a commentary on the state of AI-driven graphic design.

Okay, the task today is to take this brain that's in this logo that I'm playing with and shrink it in half. And I tested it on a bunch of different AI models. I'm shooting this after the fact. I didn't think it would— any of the models could do it. Well, I thought they could, then none of them could except for one. So if you're curious to see which model actually got this right out of all the major models, watch the video and you'll see. I just wanna show you guys something kind of wild, which is that I have been trying To get this little brain here, you're gonna see this in a second, to be over the I and then shrunk in size for over a day yesterday and today. And I don't think AI can do it. So let me show you what I mean. Okay. This is from my Stefan Brain platform, which is like an agentic marketing platform for my CA Pro members. I'm messing around with logos. I'm like, hey, this is kind of cool. So, all right, cool. Let's put a little brain. Above the I, right? So ChatGPT, don't worry, you're gonna see more than ChatGPT. You're gonna see Gemini, you're gonna see Grok, you're gonna see Claude Design. You're gonna go on a whole fun journey with me if you wanna watch it. So I'm gonna put the little brain over the I. So ChatGPT, put it over here. So essentially you'll just see me going, great, but yeah, over the I, it kind of comes over to here. I'm like, yeah, okay, cool, but put it over the I. Comes over here. It's like slowly moving this way in each video. Yeah. Okay. Try again, but over the eye. It's like maybe a little more over here. Okay. Try again. It kind of same thing over the eye. Okay. Well, that's not going to work. So I did get a brain over the eye. I think I used honestly Stefan brain to make this one. So we're going to keep it exactly the same, but I want to see what it looks like if it's a little bit smaller. It's not bad. It's kind of big. This is my current control logo. Right? All right. Make it a little smaller. Made a little bit smaller, off-center. Like, all right, yeah, but center it so it's over the eye. Took it over here, over the en. Okay, that's not gonna work. Try to circle it. Like, look, keep everything the same, make the brain 50% smaller. Here's this size. And then this one, it might be smaller, but it kept the circle and it started to move it over again. So apparently ChatGPT is just not into putting it over the eye. Tried again here. I'll show you what this came from here. But basically, you see the brain is over the eye but cut off. Moved it back over here, and it decided to make the R colored up here, right? Let's go over to Claude design. Okay, so Claude, I basically gave it the same quest. You know, gave it the logo with the brain over the eye. I'm like, I want to be 50% smaller. I want to see how it would do. you know, lots of thinking, oh my gosh, blah blah blah— basically did this output here. I'm like, thanks, that's good, except for this part's cut off. I see it, let me tighten it. Fixed! The horizontal streak is done. Is the horizontal streak actually done? Definitely it is not. That is what's open right now. So there's this one and that one. So just to see it one more time, just to kind of show you. We're out of this. This one, this one still has the sliced up thing. So I told my friend Grok, I'm like, Grok, yo, you've got a big opportunity here. You— no one else is going to do this. All you do is take the brain that's over eye and literally shrink it. Keep it over the eye. And the word brain, make it about half the size. Just want the brain graphically smaller, same location. This is your task. It's like, I'm gonna make it bigger. Okay. Now banana is real no bueno. So now banana, same image, keep it the same, 50% smaller. It just made this. So I don't know what is up with banana. I tried yesterday too with like this original logo and I first was trying to put the brain in front of it. It made this. So that is not great. Oh, and then I can't, I don't think it saved because I never signed up for this one. Maybe I signed in. Give me a second. And basically I just said, yo, this is like a logo making thing. Make the brain smaller. Made this abstract one. Made it bigger. And then tried running again without giving the reference image and it just started moving the brain around too. So. Why do I share all this? I share it because as awesome as AI, I use AI constantly, by the way, in Stefan Brain. This is my platform. So I was coming up with some ideas. I like this one to start basically getting a bunch of like, you know, kind of concepts. I, you go create variant and tell it like, hey, make 5 variations, whatever. It does this for ads, but also does it for images. So this is using Nanobanana, but gets better outputs of Nanobanana than Nanobanana does. But even this one, I was like, okay, just make the AI colored and not the R in AI. All right, I think it was for this one, sorry. And it like really struggled with that. Finally got this one, used that as a basis, and then it just was like all over the place. Same thing, I'm like, make the brains, the brain smaller. And it just can't. It made like cool variants. I don't think, maybe they're being smaller in this one. I don't know. I have to go double check. Maybe it's smaller, definitely not as small as I wanted, but I don't know, kind of crazy. So the point is AI is amazing, but before we fully cook graphic and logo designers and all that and say it's over for them, like we kind of said a little bit of of a ways to go here, you know. Quick update here, I didn't use Manus, so I'm asking Manus. Manus said challenge accepted. I added, oh, try to grok, you know, believe in you, Manus. And it looks really like, uh, impressive, all the stuff it's doing. So let's come back and see here. I'm stitching this together with the previous video because I shot that video and wasn't getting any results. But let's see if Manus can succeed where others struggled or failed. Manus is still going. A little nervous by that brain thing. Hopefully it's just zooming in on that. 3 minutes, but it's doing wild stuff. I don't, you know, if it works, I'm happy boy after all this. I'm a happy boy. Now we're at, you can see here, 6 minutes and 45 seconds and counting. Oh my God. How long will this go? It's so wild. All right, so it's saying, wow, great. Okay, done. This was under the hood, blah, blah, blah. All right guys, let's see which one is this. This, that's the zoom in. This looks like it might have done it. Now we can look at the before and after here. So this was the before and the after. Gotta give Manus props and credit. They're the only one that was able to do it. Now I don't even know if I like the brain small or not, but at least I can see it. Manus gets flowers. Good job, Manus.
