“How To Actually Reverse Diabetes” with Dr. William Ferro of Betr Health

Dr. William Ferro of Betr Health discusses his elimination and reintroduction protocol for reversing diabetes, which has evolved from in-clinic work since 2003 into a tech-enabled program now covered by 30+ health plans. Participants average 7% weight loss in the first three weeks, and the program integrates CGM data, coaching, and family-style meal delivery.

Hey, my name is Stefan Georgi. I'm a direct response copywriter. I'm a co founder of Copy and Funnel accelerator and I do a bunch of other stuff, but I'm here today with my really good friend, Dr. William Farrow. Dr. Farrow hired me as he was a client of mine starting back in 2012. And since then, we both have kind of had a lot happen in our lives and we've remained in touch with. And we'll probably get into that story a little bit during this conversation. But the big thing here, this is not scripted. I'm just kind of trying to create some cool content and also catch up with a friend, but figured we might as well record it. So as we get started here, Dr. Farrow, do you want to take a minute to kind of share a little bit about who you are and what you do today? And maybe from there we can even work backwards to how you got to where you are today?
Yeah, got it. Okay. So just for the record, you were working for me before you could get someone to open up a birthday card now, now you're able to get influence and so, you know, really get people to make a response to just beautiful, elegant copy. And what I think is, for me, so impressive is you found a way to help other people do it right. There's always one way that a genius can teach themselves how to paint, but when you can teach someone else how to do it and express that art, you know that. Honestly, when I look back at when you first started and. And I was starting my business, just seeing that you've been able to empower so many other people, that is what truly, actually I've always wanted for you. I didn't know that, but just it's amazing to watch and I'm super proud of you. I mean, for what it's worth, I'm really proud of that aspect of what you've been able to accomplish, because it's one thing to make your dream come true, but you're literally making other people's dream come true that want to do this, that want to express themselves through copy, or business owners that have an awesome product but just don't know how to position it properly. So very excited to be here. In a podcast, a little bit about me is essentially I've created something I consider like the Statue of Liberty of wellness. You give us your tired and your humbled masses, all the people that people have given up on, we're the people that can help them across the finish line with their health. And I think really for us from success standpoint with better health. And it's spelled betrhealth.com, because B. TTR was taken. So where we come from is that every human is whole and complete with barriers to that expression. Almost like for you, every product is whole and complete with barriers to that expression. And you're helping people express that. But for us, it's humans. And when I had physical medicine offices inside health clubs, I watched so many people fail with their traditional approach of move more, eat last. Right. Everyone kept telling them how easy it was. And yet I would watch these people really employ that technology or that unique mechanism to their lifestyle and they never would get anywhere. And every time they'd fail, we'd blame them. Well, it's lack of willpower, lack of motivation. Well, instead I realized that humans needed nourishment, not punishment. And so I came up with a process elimination reintroduction protocol to help them reduce the amount of stress they were under internally by reducing inflammatory foods, improving their microbiome. And, and as you would have it, people start immediately, start seeing weight loss, increased energy, better mood. Then I also undercovered that not everybody has the same food tolerances. So everyone knows why cheeseburgers are bad for you, but what they don't know is why they crave those. So when someone says, oh, you just got to make better choices, that's like me taking a pencil and going straight towards your eye and saying don't blink. What you don't understand about the human, when it's under stress, it craves those poor foods. And it's a biophysical response. It has nothing to do with behavior change. Doesn't need if you have Dr. Phil or Oprah or what have you. So we take people through this process and then through process of elimination and reintroduction, we help them figure out what foods work best for them. So we've been very successful at that. Direct to consumer. We started, we NOW became a CDC approved diabetes prevention program. We have over 30 health plans covering the program and it's called pay for performance which means that we'll take someone who's diabetes, hypertension, ibs, Crohn's at risk from these health plans. And whether unless we get 5% weight loss, drop in A1C blood pressure or medications, then we don't get paid. So truly have to put our money where our mouth is. So that's what better health is all about, really empowering the individual. I don't care if you're 88 or 28, you're going to See success.
So there's a lot already to unpack there.
That's my typical fashion blah.
I know, but no, in a good way. It's cool because. So for context, for those who will watch or listen to this, like I mentioned in the intro, you hired me off of Elance in 2012, which Elance is now Upwork. And you were. It was called Pure Proactive at the time. It's morphed into Better Health. And you were working with, like, gym chains and kind of promoting your program to, like, members of gym chains. And then you had other members from other, like marketing like Facebook and things like that. And some of the core tenets of your program, from what I understand, are still there. Right. I mean, they've evolved for sure, but there's still some of the stuff. But then obviously, to go and get the CDC approval and to be covered by 23 health plans, and the model has shifted a lot. And I've known that because we've talked over the years where you've looked at the corporate wellness aspect of things, and you've looked at some different areas. Like, how did you ultimately go from if you could do two things? One is explain what the program looked like in 2012 when you and I first met, and then what does the program really look like today? And then, you know, how did you kind of go from what you were doing with the direct to consumer stuff to moving to something where you're also, you know, working with CDC and health insurers and things like that? I'd love to know both of those things.
Sure. So the program, the elimination, reintroduction, and the protocol, that's the same, other than the fact that we've added more resources and more ways to use data to analyze to get to the end result quicker. So back in the day, you had to type things into an online portal. Now you're taking pictures of your food with an app. And behind the scenes, the app now is pulling in data from your Fitbit, from CGM device, continuous glucose monitor devices, sleep device. So now we have just so much more data, and we apply all the human experience and the algorithms that we've learned into it. So it helps a person get through the process much faster. The basic tenets that are there, though, that every human is whole and complete. They need to restore themselves internally first, and that they have to figure out what food works best for them. So the difference is basically, we've leveraged technology stronger. We've been able to give extra levels of support with technology. So you have a Personal coach, working with you every day. But you also have that team layer of support, and that's like using chats and group. And because of Facebook and those social medias, there's a lot more group support than there was back then. I mean, I think I was doing this before text messaging was even a thing. So it has evolved a lot. I think the major difference though is we've been able to leverage technology and community a lot more than we had in the past. And lastly is we've added in food delivery. So people kept coming to us saying, I want to eat healthy and what can we do? And this. Actually, I want to talk about bringing your RNBC method to this because part of that is how I brought the food to market. And it's different than I think most people use your method. We were asking people for years. People said it would be great if I had the food. And I never wanted to be a food delivery company where it was like Jenny Craig weight Watch, like, here's your calorie counted meal and here's your. I just didn't want to do that. I wanted this always to be inclusive of the whole family. And the reason why so many years ago I've transitioned is I always knew that I believed in the humans making results for themselves using real food. And I want it to be sustainable. And I knew that if I did this that it would be much bigger than maybe selling some products short term. I knew that I had something that truly could reverse and prevent chronic disease. And it has never to do with like billions of dollars. It always had to do with millions of lives. I felt like I could affect millions of lives. So recently we added in the food and what we found from the food is, well, I bought your. Your protocol, your method for my internal staff as we were doing market research for our food. And so doing that research uncovered that we're not. If we give somebody individual food, it's not solving. It's only solving for that individual, not the family. Then we looked at what other concerns people had by doing research is that they loved it, but they got these huge boxes with all the styrofoam and things they had to throw away each week. So they kind of felt crappy about consuming the product. And as I was looking at it, and better is. Everything we do about better is always better for the customer, making it better for the environment, everything to just be better than the competition, essentially. So what we did was we using your method. We said, okay, what's their problem? What's their pain? Points and what's unique. So we created family style meals. So that same tray that could hold one portion, we found out, could hold three. So now we've reduced the carbon footprint by 75%. Then instead of sending them meal kits that they don't have time to put together, and it's all this extra packaging, we made them fresh to deliver to their home. We make them order 16 at a time. So we only have to send one box every two weeks. And some of it they can eat fresh because it's made for you already. And some they can freeze. So we always tell people, yeah, it would be perfect if I sent you fresh meals each week. But let's talk about being better and better for the environment. And it tastes just as good if you heat it up on the stove or instead say an instant pot. So that addition of taking your research, then the unique mechanism and positioning it properly because what in the patent, Stefan, is people would say, hey, that's $14.95 for that chili. That seems expensive. No, it feeds three adults. Oh, now you're talking. And so we used all that method to actually take and launch this product in the last 60 days. It's so $250,000 worth of food. And I know if we didn't have that method, we would have come out, we would have messed up. And so that's why I wanted to come on and tell people, if you're writing for copy, use it for product development first. Yeah. Then your copy will write itself.
That's amazing, man. And yeah, I love that. That's such a great insight and kind of understanding what your customers and what the market really wants. And it sounds so basic and yet so many businesses, both big and small, can sometimes make that mistake of assuming or big companies, I think, do these bullshit focus groups that sometimes are accurate, but sometimes they're just as much of fluff. And you don't need to spend like, you know, $500,000 or $100,000 to understand what your market needs. You just need to like, ask the right questions and then go out and get the answers. And I do love that. I mean, the point of this isn't to promote rnbc, but. No, yeah, I was just gonna say another friend of mine pointed out, he's a really smart guy, he's in the financial space, but he pointed out he's like, RNBC is like a technology, right? He's like, he'll use it for copy, but it's like a way of thinking, it's a way of approaching things. As a way of solving problems and going back to. So seeing that application with what you did just really is. It's cool. It gets me fired up, man. That's awesome.
Honestly, now we're applying it to so many different avenues because what it also does is it makes you hone in the communication about what you're doing, not only just to your people that you're trying to, you know, your consumers, but your internal staff. Now they have ways to talk about it and it actually gets them more in tune with the customer because it was customer driven to begin with versus what you just said. Most of the time is we hatch up this plan and then we try to garner buy in. No, you're actually co creating it with your, your membership base. And that co creation is what really leading and performance is all about. And that's why compelled to tell other business owners like this isn't about writing award winning 8,000 word copy for our program. We don't need 8,000 words. It work. What we do works. We guarantee you that it's going to work. But I also need to position it properly and, and learn from what they really need to make sure they have the right resources. So I appreciate this more than you know, because I think without it, we would have made some really bad mistakes. And now people are so addicted to the service and it's helping so many people and we're doing it at a cost that is affordable for people, you know, in all walks and seasons of life. Like, it's. It just helped enormously. And I appreciate that you put this method together and that the money I spent on it. Can I say how much I spent on it? Yeah, it was a thousand bucks. Are you out of your mind? That is the best. That is the best value our team has gotten, hands down ever, from all the different things I've used. So I'm a big fan, as you know.
I really appreciate that. But I'm also just a fan of those. I just love those insights. Like, yeah, you're right, all the meal plan and they'll be like, oh, you know, get your whole family on it. But it's like, okay, now it's like more trays, more stuff to store, you know, all like more boxes, more packaging, all that kind of crap. And so that really simple insight of like, let's do family style. Because not only that, if you're overweight, I don't know what your target demographic is. I'd love to actually hear from you, but I'm just gonna guess, you know, it's a 35 to 50 year old woman who's like overweight and who wants to be, you know, wants to improve her health and probably her doctor is telling her she needs to. And I'm sure it's woman and men, but just if you had to, you can correct me in a minute. I'm just completely guessing, but even say it's that person like who's then also providing meals for a whole family. It's like if we solve it for her, well then her whole family. What about her husband and her kid or her kids, whatever. And even say I'm wrong. And again, I know probably half your customers are men anyway, so I was seeing maybe like a 55, 45 female male split in my head. Same thing for a guy though. He goes on it, but then his wife's like, well, what do I do? Like, what do I cook? You know, what about the kids? So it's such a huge pain point actually. And yet I, I haven't seen a lot of people address it in that way. So I think it's brilliant what you guys did. And I am curious, by the way, about who is your target kind of demo.
Yeah. So I'd say that if I just were to look at the data, I'd say that you probably hit it spot.
On.
In the past. And I would say that the reason why it's spot on, not because that's who we cater to, but just who initially gravitated towards us. We've been doing this now 15 years, so we have a lot of word of mouth referrals. And it's shifted though quite a bit because now the health plans are promoting this to their Medicare Advantage people. So really what's great about it is better health is a movement. This is not a program, this is not a protocol. We don't talk, we don't even put on a website really, that we're a cdc, fully recognized diabetes prevention program. I know most people would want to pat themselves in the back like, look, the CDC loves us, but do you really want to be in a CDC approved diabetes prevention program? Do you really want to be in a program that's just focused on diabetes, hypertension, ibs, anxiety, or do you want to be in a better health movement that you and your family could do together? And the grandfather that's living with you, the grandmother that's living with you, can also experience this because food is medicine and if you really heal the gut, you're going to see everything change very quickly. And so the target audience in a way is the female. Because sometimes they come out and they want to make the best choices for the group, but also they want to know that their family's involved and they're willing to do more knowing that they can include their whole family. It's like a woman won't spend anything on herself, but if her kid wants, you know, to ride a horse, yeah, we'll go broke to get her horseback riding lessons. So in this scenario, it makes them feel good about belonging to a program. Not like, oh, I'm doing another diet program. And they always say, I don't know if I can do this because I gotta ask my husband. What really they're saying is, I hate the look of disappointment on my husband's face when I fail yet again. And that's really what's happening. And the insights we have from our customers, like, I'm so tired of failing. I'm like, remember, let yourself off the hook. This has nothing to do with you. I'm going to bet you're a skinny guy, right? I'm going to bet there are nights when you have stress that you're slamming the most outrageously horrible food for yourself, Especially when they're stressful, right? You get up from the couch and it's Netflix. You're trying to take your mind off something that allows that reptilian brain to shut down. You're not being chased by the tiger because your life looks amazing to a lot of people. But they don't know the amount of stress that you carry, right? You get up from the counter and you walk over like, oh, there's oranges, there's apples. Like, no, I don't want any of that. You go to the refrigerator, you're like, there's nothing in there for me. You go to the pantry, as I call it, the coffin. And there's your salt and there's your sweet. And it doesn't matter if Dr. Phil, Oprah, or what's his name, Tony Robbins were sitting inside. They're trying to talk you out of it. You got this. You can be better. You would drop kick all three of them just to get to your pretzels and your Hersey Kisses. And if it's truly a stressful event, you're taking Hersey Kiss and pretzel sandwiches and munching them together. It's the biophysical response. So once we start letting people off the hook and realizing that this is the body was designed to thrive, we just have to get out of its way. And all the points, the shakes, the pills, all that you Know the keto way or this way. I'm not throwing shade at any of these diets. What I'm saying is they may be good, but they may not be good for you. So go through a protocol that actually can help you figure out what works best for you. We have a girl that was working out with a trainer three times a week for a year. Sure, she felt better. Stamina was up. She couldn't lose a pound. She does the program, in 60 days, she loses 42 pounds. And her trigger foods were quinoa, Greek yogurt, and raspberries. What chance does the rest of the population have if those things are holding people back? And that's the thing. They don't know, and that's what they have to uncover. There's nothing wrong with them. They're amazing. To say that. I'm sorry, I'm going off. Let me go off one more time.
That's good.
To say they're lazy and unmotivated is absolute bullshit. These are people that have. Maybe it's a single, single family. Single mom, single dad, three kids. They get on a bus every day to go to work. They have to rush home to get their kids. They do that for 25 years, and they're exhausted. They're 150 pounds overweight. And we're like, oh, God, these people, they're just so disgusting. No lack of willpower, motivation. No, it's the copious amounts of stress that put them into a vicious cycle. And the more stress you have, the more bad food you crave. The more bad food you crave, obviously, the more inflammation, insulin resistance, the more weight you gain. You lack motivation, energy. All of that stuff spirals out of control. And then everyone keeps yelling at you and, hey, fat ass, let's just run around the parking lot and flip tires and count your calories and shakes. You're just making it worse for them. And it's our fault, not theirs. So that's my.
All right.
Not get upset.
No, it's good. Don't get upset, but stay a little upset. That's a good motivator. No, I mean, I remember so well a couple of thoughts on that, because one, I totally get that. I've noticed with certain foods, that same thing. Well, I have gone through your program, so let me start there. So I don't know if you remember, but back in the day and I was writing a lot of copy for you, and I said, hey, man made all this copy, and I'm seeing all these crazy testimonials, and before and afters. And like, I told him a believer, like, if I should probably try the program out so that I can see, you know, what. What it's all about and I'll have a better understanding, be able to communicate it better. All that. And you sent me, you know, the starter, like, PDF or whatever. Yeah, I had the PDFs, but yeah, you sent some supplementation and the guides and Laura and I, you know, actually followed it. And I just remember, gosh, this has been. Must have been like 2013. We were in Pensacola, Florida at the time. But I lost in like a month and some change, I lost like 30 pounds. I mean, I lost so much weight and it was like, oh, man. Like, I actually started getting to like. I remember I asked you, I was like, hey, can I actually add some stuff in? Because, like, I'm. I didn't have a. Like, I had weight to lose. I was like, definitely a little husky at that point. Not like fat, but like, you know, a little overweight. But someone was like, I'm losing too much weight. And you're like, well, you can modify and do this. And it was like, okay, cool. So I just remember being like, damn, this really works. And so that's one. Because for people who watch this to know that I actually have done the program. And maybe because of that, I am a pretty healthy eater. And don't. I'm not like the population, right? Because I. And especially writing a lot of health copy, I'm really cognizant of processed foods. And if there's a bunch of ingredients on the label that I can't pronounce, I really try to avoid that. Am I perfect? No. But even trigger foods like certain. Like that, like who. Who ate you? That dark. That chocolate company seen those who bars and super good. But some of the. I've noticed that some of the flavors with like, like cashew butter in them, I have like an inflammatory reaction where like my. I get like, my allergies get worse and my energy goes down, right? But then if I have macadamia nuts on their own, totally good. If I have some dark chocolate, totally good. But then eggs, right? There's just like things. So that's to your point. That's what's so interesting. We try these one size fits all approach, but like, it doesn't work. That's why I have an elimination type of. I don't know if you call it. What's your terminology for it again?
Introduction. That you know. And it's not. We invented that. What we did was we looked at so many different people. And I said, look, if you just start here, I know you're going to be successful. And I always tell people same thing. Just give me three good days. Don't think about the 60 day protocol. Just give me three days. If you can't get through three days, no problem. All I need for three days is no alcohol and no processed sugars. If you can do that for three days, then you're going to be good to go. And 90% of the people that get through the three days will finish the full two months handily. Because finally, like, huh, I've been punishing myself. I've been exercising. In fact, exercise is counterproductive to weight loss. We actually, I don't know if you remember this, but we're like, no, no, no, no.
Exercise pissed me off because I wanted to like to go for hikes and stuff like that. And I couldn't, but. But then I kept losing weight, so I was like, all right, well, I can.
Give me a few days to reset yourself. And then. And then what? Ends up the body does the rest.
Right?
You have that motivation, you know, success. And I want to take credit because I've seen now your wife on Facebook. You guys look amazing. I'm responsible. You've sustained it.
You're a big part of it. You are.
You are.
Yeah. The only time I got away with it was I got away from it was in 20, 2017. I traveled a bunch and kind of like was eating a bunch of fries and processed foods and crap and I got husky again and that was like, it was short lived. And I basically went back to following your protocol and all the weight came back off. So, you know, so thanks for that. Appreciate it.
My pleasure. My pleasure, man.
Yeah, it is neat. And the CDC thing, I agree that you're not as a marketer, obviously I'm a marketer. Like I see both sides to that because it is incredible. I come from a world of Internet marketing where there's lots of people out there who will make claims about reversing, curing, or treating diseases that they are not allowed to make. And they're playing this dangerous game. And a big percentage of them believe that their products can do it, but they can't say it. And then another percentage don't believe their products can do it, but they're just saying it to try to make sales and it can go down that kind of dark underbelly and. And we're all. Online marketing can get a bad reputation. This is that percentage over there. But the thing Is remarkable is you have a program where you actually can say that your cdc, you know, Centers for Disease Control, like, approved to like, what was it? Reverse diabetes. I mean, you can. You can make claims that people cannot normally make. That's pretty, pretty remarkable.
Yeah. You know, it's hard for us though, because, like, Facebook, our results are so good that Facebook constantly shuts us down. They're like, how does somebody do that? And I'm like, man, we've been. We're covered by Blue Shield of California, 30 other different health plans, we're CDC approved. We let anybody try the program for. So the first month is 299. So it's like $299. I'm gonna give you a personal coach. I'm gonna walk you through this. And if in the first two weeks you're not successful, I literally give them their money back on the spot, same day, nothing to send back. I've been doing that since we have a thousand five star reviews in Google and now 99% of our customers right now are coming from the health plans. Like, I'm just the worst marketer. Still, there's nothing strange about me. I liked it. For whatever reason, I apparently want to keep this as a secret for some reason, because I am the worst. My website's terrible. My conversion. I'm doing a video in my car as the conversion page. I mean, you couldn't think of a worse person to have the best kept secret. I'm still terrible. And I'm ashamed that I'm your friend, because with you as my friend, you think the world would know about what, you know, how it is. We're doing it. So we got to get there.
Yeah, we will.
Sorry.
So it's garbage day in the neighborhood. So if, you know, Covid realities, if you hear a beeping and someone who watches this later does, you know, deal with it. But yeah, so that. Well, that was cool. As I put this onto YouTube and I may turn into like a road to a billion podcast episode, you know, this isn't being done during the normal road to billion format, but. But I want people to hear about you and what you're doing because this program has been getting insane results for people since I've known you. And you were doing it well before me, I think. Did you start in 2009 or am I making that up?
Yeah, so I had the clinics inside about 30 health clubs across the country since. From 2003. And then in 2008, 2009, I started really watching so much failure. That's When I started experimenting and someone talked to me about gut health and I always laugh, I'm like, when I started talking about billions of bacteria in the microbiome back then, everyone's like, you're nuts. You know, you're the quack that you are. You're a chiropractor, you know, quack. And I'm. And now you can't turn the page without people saying, you know, look at how this is. And I'm not patting myself on the back because Hippocrates is the one who said, look well to the gut for all disease. He was just way ahead of his time and didn't have the scientific instruments to prove it. But now we know it's everything. And, and when you look at our kids, you know, really the reason why I'm doing this is our kids right now have a lower life expectancy than we do. For the first time in history, they are having lower IQs because of the environmental pollution and the toxicity and the microbiomes being off. Try to find a kid in their 20s that's not depressed or anxious and now even in their 30s and 40s and we. What ends up happening is my generation was 45 and more like 50 and 60 is looking at the 20 and 25 year olds say, what are you so anxious and depressed about? You have everything. I had nothing, right? Well, they're not, they're not babies, they're not snowflakes. What they are is malnourished and toxic. And we did it to them. And so until we reset that microbiome and reset it from the inside out, all these SSRI inhibitors, all these serotonin people with polycystic ovarian syndrome that can't have children, we have a ton of those people coming to us and by just reducing the inflammation, their fertility rates go up. This is not about a cure all. The cure all is you. You want to know what best foods for you. Your DNA already has the blueprint. There's no expert needed. You are the expert. We just have to help you get out of the way and let your body express the health.
Yeah, that's so good. Very much aligned with what I believe and I've ever seen a study, and I think it was, I'm going to say it was a Harvard study, but if it wasn't, it was somebody super credible talking about how they looked at gut bacteria and they found that in your microbiome, your gut bacteria is when they, when they kind of took it and through fecal matter and all that, they found so much medication in there. So, like, going back to the SSRI inhibitors and like, even like the acid reflux drugs and all kinds of other stuff that you put in your body. Like, not because you hear that antibiotics are gonna clear out your gut. And that's true, right? But even the stuff you're taking, like, your gut is like, what do you think? I mean, you're swallowing it, it's going into your gut. What do you think is happening? So you have a bunch of, like, gut bacteria wandering around high all the time. Because I kind of laugh. Like, your gut bacteria is like, like wandering around stoned in your stomach, like, not knowing what to do. And yeah, it's like. But that wouldn't have an impact. And then we know, right? There's like. And again, you're the doctor, the expert, not me. I've just written a lot about this. But you've got your gall, right? You've got a huge percentage of your immune systems in your gut. I was talking to a doctor in LA for another company that I'm working with who he was voted, like, the number one doctor in LA by LA magazine. He's a gi. And he was talking about how even for Covid, ton of like, all these studies are showing that people who get Covid most severe cases, there's like a direct correlation between the severity of COVID and what's going on with their gut. So people with, like, kind of gut issues have like, a way more severe cases of COVID And it's like, but how. How do we not see that? Right? It's such a clear cause and effect, and yet you're told to your point, oh, you're lazy. I feel like we're creating a sales letter right now, but I'm not trying to. But it's just. It's true, right? It's like, oh, you're lazy, you're fat, you have bad willpower, you eat like, you know, people are dumb. Like, all the negative stuff we want to throw on people, but it's just not, like, fair to them when they're fighting such an uphill battle. And especially if they don't know what's going on. And so someone like you and your company, I think it's so important, the work that you're doing.
Listen, you nailed it about the thing. Kind of in a drunk haze. That cell wall is only one cell thick, so it's a lightweight. So everything can affect it very, very, you know, intimately. And what I would also say to your NBC users out there is use this power for good. Because if you're utilizing this to make some touch points to sell a probiotic, I tell people, say, doc, you know, you have probiotics. I said, yeah, but that's like sprinkling seeds on a desert. It's not going to grow. You need the environment first for it to grow. So if you're giving people the supplement before they're changing their food, you really. They're wasting their money. And really, the best probiotics, even though I give a supplement that's me, is like, that's supposed to be your last layer of support. Your first layer has to be from your apple cider vinegar, your kombucha, your fermented products. That's where you're going to get that good, healthy population and reduce the inflammation. And now you have fertile soil for the bacteria to grow. So use the RNBC method for good people. And there's so much in there that can be good and is good. And it's phenomenal, dude. Really. I love what you've done and it's helped us tremendously. I can't wait to see what we do next with it. And obviously we should probably use it towards marketing. I guess at some point we should.
Or you should. But thinking about that, it's like, yeah, I mean, having. For my audience, I know that some of the people who are on my email list or subscribe to me on YouTube or on LinkedIn or whatever are gonna. Some of the marketers are gonna be savvy and be like, oh, this guy is great. I wanna, you know, I can hire him to be like, you know, the face of some product. And you're not going to do that. Like, I brought that to you in the past. Like, not happening. You were all in on better. And you, you have been since I've known you. So if you're watching this and thinking.
That, always shake my head, you, sorry, dude, come on. And I'm like, man, I can't. And you're like, dude, you're broke. I'm like, I know, I just couldn't do it. And yeah, so anyway, that's funny.
It is funny. But I think there's a lot of good marketers out there who may be able to come in and help you guys. I mean, I agree, not in an offensive way, but you're a brilliant salesman, you're a brilliant doctor, you're a brilliant business person, but you're not a brilliant marketer. You know how to sell stuff, but by marketing. What I mean is, like, just with digital marketing, you just Never even haven't had the time to master like you know, all this stuff going on, digital marketing, which makes sense. Cause you're running this company and changing lives and doing all that. I would love in my dream of dreams though to find that right person who could come in and help you kind of building out some of this stuff and doing that. So if people, you know who watch this want to like talk to you about that and you know, if I'm not going to have you put your contact info on this because I think it might be too many people might reach out. But if you're watching this and you know me, you can. Are you on my list? You want to email me about Dr. Farrow and want me to forward something to Dr. Farrow? I'm willing to do that if you want me to. Is that something that you're okay with doing?
And I'll say this, I want done for you services. My team is so focused on helping the people in our community and if you were to interview my last, our last let's say 10 clients, you know, we're probably doing a thousand new users a month from the health plans. If you would have interviewed the last 10 and you said how'd you like the program? We get 90 net promoter score. How many people have you told? Everybody. We don't give them the tools to refer to us. We're not out there on social. We need someone to come in and do everything. Not just one part of the funnel. We really need every part of it because it's. We'll mess it up if we, we get involved, we'll mess it up because we're so service centric that we need someone to come in from the outside and take it on. So and we have the resources to do so. Probably the other reason too. When we first, when we used to connect, I was bootstrapping this so much that I was always so nervous to put some money out up front. Luckily we got to the position now where, you know, I'll tell everybody we only raised a million and a half dollars total for this whole fund. Our nearest competitors have raised $150 million in the same space and are now market caps of a billion. But we have a better product and a better service. So now is the perfect time for us to come out. We have some cash to deploy in a way but we really want a complete done for you service that says we got this, we know what to do. We Content and testimonials. I have more video testimonials and content that you know what to do with it.
It's a wet dream.
Yeah, it is. So bring me the full service suite and. And I'm in.
Cool. Well, hopefully people watching this will some the right person will see the opportunity here. I'm not, honest to God, like you we've talked about, I obviously don't have the bandwidth. But, but even we talk right now, like I saw this fantasy of like everything I'm doing and like just quitting it all to like go like, you know, partner with you. And I know I can finally say that without getting in trouble.
Let me say this, let me say this. One of Our competitors has 375,000 people with diabetes under management. Right? 375,000. They have a market cap of $14.1 billion. They went public last year. 375,000 people with diabetes is less than 1% the total diabetes, and that's just diabetes. Now you have hypertension, GI disorders, you're talking about over 120 million people. So what we have is there. We really just need you to soup back up. Let's Finish the Dream 2012.
I know, I know it kills me not having God, the personal balance. But, but I have. The great thing is what I'm, what I didn't have in 2012 that I have now is such an incredible network of entrepreneurs and marketers and copywriters. And so hopefully someone who watches this will want to get a hold of you. And if you. Again, if you're watching and you do, I want to be the gatekeeper only because I value your time. I don't want you getting solicited with beginner copywriters who are like, I'll write emails for you, sir. And there's nothing wrong with that. And I spend a lot of my time helping beginning copywriters. But that's not what you need. Like you said. Right. It's really someone who can come in and it's almost like a cmo, but you don't need to hire that person as a cmo. But, but to come in and be like, here's. On the digital side, here's what we're doing, here's how we're building these funnels, here's how we're driving acquisition, here's how we're handling social. Right. Like all of that and help you to grow this company and reach the amount of people it can reach. And I think for that person to do that, I'm sure you can work out a deal with them. It could be a life changing opportunity for them. It could change your business. But then again, the bigger picture, how many people can you help, right? I mean, how many of the millions and millions? It's sad how big the market is, right? It's like, it's like we love how big the market is, but it's also sad because all these people are sick and unhealthy and feel like crap. But that is an incredible opportunity that you can come in and truly help those people. So I hope somebody actually have one person in mind I might connect you to. But hopefully people will reach out.
I want to say something about your method, the copyright accelerator. So what I would tell somebody is if this is what you want to do when you get the methodology, that's step one. So I think that that is a good step in the right direction. But what you're offering with the masterminds and those other things, and I'm not trying to drive your price up, but it's really not enough. I mean, I'm sure it is because you price it probably. But I'm just saying that having that group, having that support, the accountability, the best practices which change. This is a changing environment, right? Your RMDC method is a method that will stand the test of time. But the other anecdotes and the abilities that come along with it, that's the evolution of the whole thing. And if you really want to do this, you just gotta, you gotta jump in with everything you got. And you cannot be scared because the one regret you will have is if you half ass it, you will say, if I just would have given it all. If this is already someplace you want to be, then be with the best. And what I also love about your accelerator, when I've been on some of the Facebook groups, you guys have forgot about competition. That's the first law of abundance. You forgot that, hey, we're in competition with you. No, we're not. This is this world's abundance. There's an abundance for all of us. I'm not going to be outdone by this car. There's more stuff coming into the market. There's more people that need us. So I love that your group is just, they're all helping each other. Other copywriters that are just constantly helping each other. It's a beautiful group. I can't say enough things about it. I'm again, so proud of what you've accomplished. That you're helping other people live their dreams is beautiful, man. Really, really awesome.
Well, thank you. I appreciate that. And it means a lot. And it's what I'm most proud of, too. And just like you didn't realize you wanted that for me, I didn't realize I wanted it for myself. But then as I started helping people, the funniest thing happened. Oh, wow. I feel really good. I feel really happy. I feel really inspired. And just like, I'm helping people who. Whether they're business owners or freelancers, and you're helping people to change their life and their health, and I'm helping them financially more often. Right, you're helping them physically and with their health, but at the end of the day, we're kind of doing the same thing. It's different, but we're helping people to change their lives. And there's nothing better than that feeling. So, man, I appreciate it. And Doctor. Yeah, Go ahead, please.
Really so strange that we picked today to do this meeting, because today I got your email about the feeling you got when you were promoting your light. Is it copper Accelerated light? I'm saying it, right? Yeah, you are promoting it, and you said as you're sitting there promoting it. And I love that. The fact that you're like, this is a sales pitch, but it's not a sales pitch. I'm offering you a service. Here's our service. Here's what it costs. And all these people just kept chiming in and all these crazy testimonials of how it's, you know, how much it's helped them, how much changed your life. And that elation that you get, like, not because you can hear dollar signs ringing, everything you've worked for, you're winning the Academy Award at that point. And how fitting that we happen to pick this Monday that that email goes out, right? Because honestly, that's how I feel every Tuesday night on my live call when people just come in. Dr. Farrell, you don't know how long I've been struggling and hear that. I. When you said to me that email wasn't good, it was good to me because I know that feeling. And, like, it just gave me chills. And I was like, dude, he feels it. I know you felt it before, but I could feel it in that email. And I just think it's crazy that we ended up, you know, we haven't spoken because we never have time. We're September 14th, that whatever, 5:30pm Eastern, we decided to do this, and it's the same day you. You were sent out an email. I just think it's pretty cool.
No, it is really cool. And yeah, it was a cool feeling that I had. I mean, that was like the most flow state I've ever, like, felt at least like writing. I felt like, in, like, a flow state before, but. But not like, with a public speaking thing. I've gotten much better at public speaking because I've done more of it, but. But I was evangelical, you know, because of just like you feel when you're doing. You're changing people's lives and their health, and I'm Chang of their businesses or their careers. And so. Yeah, no, I agree, man. And I always. So I'm glad we're able to do this. I knew I was like, let me. I want to catch up with Dr. Farrow anyway. Let's record it and create content. Kind of, you know, killing two birds of one stone or just whatever. But, yeah, I just. I'm so thankful to you, seriously, for. Cause you were a big client for me in 2012. I had. I forget what you paid me, but you paid me like, 30 or 40 bucks per email, which was, like, a lot of money at the time. I was charging, like, $20 per hour for a lot of projects.
Paying off that credit card.
Yeah. You know, well, you didn't get the.
ROI yet then I also referred you to Dr. Guy, who you've slayed for. So Dr. Guy had more resources than me at the time. You slayed it for him. His business is still flourishing because of that many years later. And he. You know, I remember that. I think it was something maybe one other person, but definitely Dr. Guy. I remember. You're just slaying it for. And he's still. Still crushing it.
That's awesome. Yeah. He's a really good guy. Yeah. No, I know. And that's. But that's the crazy chain, too, right? Because. Because of you. I mean, I met. You know, I met Laura, got into copywriting. That's why I created an Elance account, because I, like, quit my corporate job and went into freelancing. You hired me very early on. And what's really cool, a lot of the people who hired me really early on are still doing the same thing now or something similar. And we've maintained relationships. I think that's really neat. So the first couple people to hire me for sales letters, like, one of them is in copy accelerator, Mike Bontempo. He hired me. He was probably God, Like, I don't know if he's like, 18 or 19 at the time, but doing well, you know? And you hired me and all these people. This guy Eric Barstow, hired me on Elance to write a sales letter for, like, to help Painters grow their house painting business which then like crushed until Facebook kicked him all. He got banned by Facebook. And I joked that like, I'm like, man, I was such an aggressive copywriter that I found a way to get Facebook to ban your house painting business. Like, no idea how I was able to do that. And this is like 2020, like 13 Facebook, which was like the wild west. So I don't know what I said. I'm like, you know, paint your house and also you can cure cancer with one stroke of the brush. I don't know what. You know, obviously I didn't. But, but it was so funny. But, but, but yeah, because of you. Then I met Dr. Guy and then after Dr. Guy really moved back, it just, it was just these progressions like through my career and you're a huge part of that. So I'll forever be thankful and just.
It's my pleasure, man. I remember you came to Raleigh for that event.
Yeah, I remember that.
And then we went out to dinner. But I also remember when you first introduced me to Laurie. Like, yeah, she's making money doing these T shirts. I'm like, what are you talking about? You're like, yeah, she doesn't actually own the T shirt, she sells it. And I mean it blew my mind. I'm like, what the hell are you talking about? You know, like how much further we've all progressed since those days. But it's so great to see and your daughter is just so beautiful and fun. I know you haven't. It's good to see how what a great dad you are and a great husband you are. So all those great things.
Awesome. Well, thank you so much and yeah, thank you for taking the time to chat and for you want to give the website one more time where people can check out your program.
It's betrhealth.com and you'll go to getting started in risk free trial. You'll think it's the worst onboarding experience. I mean buying experience because the website stinks. But once you buy, you are going to be amazed. We're going to give you a personal coach to walk you through it. All I ask is you give it a couple days. In a few weeks you'll just be easily. Our average weight loss is 7% in the first three weeks. So that's the byproduct. But ultimately you can't go wrong. Anyway, enough. Betterhealth.com awesome.
Cool. So check out betterhealth.com if you're watching this on YouTube, please make sure to subscribe like leave a comment for me. Maybe Dr. Farah will come, kind of, you know, read the comments and reply. Who knows? Yeah, I don't know where I'm supposed to point, you know, like, here.
Here, when everyone does that, Always amazing. Like, that's brilliant.
So good. They're so good. But, yeah, thank you again, and we'll catch up again soon, Dr. Farrell.
All right, my brother. Talk to you soon.

Why Understanding Product-Market Awareness Is More Important Than Ever in 2025
