Have you ever felt like, crazy drained, like you really couldn't take another step, or like you really didn't know what to do, just kind of discouraged? Well, in this video, I'm going to give you five levels of spiritual fitness to help you take that stubborn, aching feeling to one of optimism and creation. So stay tuned.
One of the biggest lessons I ever learned in trying to transform my life and trying to build a business, trying to build healthy relationships and all that kind of stuff, is having a healthy level of resilience and perseverance. What I wasn't exactly sure of was how to actually make that actually become a reality. I think a lot of times we have setback after setback after setback and discouragement after discouragement, and we don't feel like taking another step, but we don't also don't understand where that comes from or how we're going to pivot that well in this particular process. I'm going to give you the five steps that I personally use in order to kind of keep myself rejuvenated, keep myself excited, keep my optimism high and my progression fast. All right, so let's go ahead and jump into the five levels. All right, so first of all, there's what I refer to as the awakening. The awakening phase is when you realize that maybe you haven't been doing things the right way or following the right processes for an extended period of time. It's the time when you finally understand there's more. There's more to life, there's more to business, there's more to career, there's more to relationships, and you actually want to pursue it with all of your heart. Right. The awakening phase is kind of built off the seven levels of life mastery in that it is the starting point. It's where the yearning starts to take steps towards the action. A lot of awakenings will happen right after a big breakup, right after the loss of a job. Awakenings typically happen right after major life events, historically in more of a negative fashion. Meaning it was a negative experience that taught you something new about yourself. Right. So this is kind of the area we want to talk about. So we're going to go through the awakening phase. Right. Awakening then takes us to the next phase, which is what I refer to as exploration. Okay. It is a bigger word, not even a bigger word, but another word to say reflection. Right. It's the time when you kind of go searching on the inside, but without a couple of things without condemnation.
Sorry about the squeaking.
Alright.
Without judgment. Okay. One of the biggest differences in developing this level of spiritual fitness is when you go to explore, you're not criticizing yourself because of a mistake you made or something you didn't know or a piece of information you didn't have. Instead, what you're actually doing is you're actually going, okay, what can I learn from this experience? What can it teach me? Who can I partner with? What new information do I need? Exploration is different. Think about it like you're going. You go like, I like to go on vacations. And when I go on vacations, I'm not the guy who sits beside the pool, right? I'm the guy who's. Who's got the book open, looking for all the different places I can check out in that area, right? I want to explore the area. Now, I'm not going on that trip, going to explore an area so I can go fix something or do something with other. You know what I'm saying? What I'm doing is I'm going to look around. I want to get a greater perspective of a mountaintop or an ocean or something along those lines. Exploring your own self is very, very similar. What I see people struggle with most is when they actually go to explore, they end up judging and condemning themselves. Why? Because they feel like other people are going to do it.
You don't have to do that. Healthy exploration just says, what can I learn? What information do I need to get kind of applied to a new direction? These are areas of exploration. The next phase is a forgiveness phase. Now, some people think the word forgiveness is kind of corny. I will tell you, it's actually pivotal. So many times, the greatest person we need to forgive is the person staring us back in the mirror. I've actually had experiences during some of our live events where we do a really cool technique showing them how much stuff is kind of hidden in the basement that they haven't dealt with, that they haven't let go of. And so many times that release is, like, freeing. And all of a sudden, the negative hovering of the cloud above your head, the gray cloud above your head is completely gone. And smiles come up from nowhere. Forgiveness is incredibly powerful. Okay? I always like to start with looking at myself to say, hey, look, what am I not so proud of about myself? What mistake did I make, right? And I realized as long as there was something I learned about that mistake, there was forgiveness to be found. Forgiveness is powerful, right? Take that to the next level. Someone injured you, Someone betrayed you, Someone hurt you emotionally, physically, spiritually, right? The only person who's actually still Being affected by that event or that situation is you. Oftentimes, the people that have caused that damage oftentimes aren't even thinking about the damage they caused. But yet we tend to carry people with us, or not carry people, but carry that situation with us and then it causes bitterness, resentment, hate and hurt. Well, that stuff bleeds out in the other areas of life. Forgiveness is a whole, a whole area, right. It ruins the essence of the strength of wholeness within you. Right. So what's a way that you can work on forgiveness to someone that offended you? Well, one of the ways that I did myself, one of the ways that I did it was I actually wrote myself. I actually wrote them a letter telling them all the stuff that had been wrong, all the damage they did. And then I took that letter and I sealed it in the envelope and I set that joker on fire and I said, I'm not going to think about this anymore, I'm done. I forgive you. Now if you're able to go talk to them and forgive them that way, fantastic. But if you're not, and maybe they've either passed on, you have no communication with them as of right now. Do the letter approach. The idea is to get it out of here, to get it out of here and over there. The reason that's so powerful is because once this is out from here and out from here and out from there, you can put new stuff in, better stuff, hopeful stuff, transformation stuff, breakthrough stuff. So make sure you take the time to forgive yourself and work towards forgiving others. It may be a process for some, but if you'll just apply it, you will be incredibly happy you did because it's incredibly free, alright? Which sets us up to the next phase. Surrender.
Surrendering is powerful. I think about the most pivotal times in my life where a massive event happened. I had two choices. Surrender or suffer.
Surrender breeds new opportunities. Surrender breeds new relationships. Surrender breeds hope.
Suffering only breeds suffering and more of it. That's why some of you, even myself back in the day, would walk around with a cloud above my head, right? I was a victim, meaning I was always thinking someone was out to get me, always thinking something bad was going to happen. Until I learned the power of forgiveness and surrender. Once I surrendered to the fact I had zero control or limited control of that particular situation and I forgave that person. That surrender moment was the what allowed me to actually have that new inflow of hope, optimism, belief, opportunity.
You only get there in the moment of surrender when you finally say, you know what? Enough's Enough. I'm ready to get started. I'm ready to change. I'm ready to grow. I'm ready to make a difference.
And I know you can do that. Okay? Which gets you to the next level, process of emergence.
You ever watched a movie before where the hero is going through all this suffering? He's going. You know, I like to think about Rocky Balboa, right? So poverty, right? No friends or relationship except his buddy Mickey. And then later, Adrian, right? And then movie after movie after movie after movie, Rocky goes through an awakening. He explores what happened and what was wrong, what he needed to learn. He forgave himself and other people for a specific area. He went into a surrender moment where he started training, and then he emerged the champions.
The process is powerful if we use it.
There's a reason why movie after movie after movie after story after story after book after book, Right? There's a reason why the hero's journey is. The hero's journey is because it closely resembles our own lives. All of us are at moments, waiting to have this awakening, waiting to find out what life, what the purpose of this is, and the purpose of that is. What's the meaning behind this, meaning behind that. All of us want to get to that place where we feel like it's safe enough for us to explore where we're going and where we want to go in our lives. All of us have had stuff happen to us and stuff we're not proud of. And all of us are getting anchored right here.
What if that was gone? What if we followed Rocky's example or Luke Skywalker as an example? Right? Any movie you can think of, what if we followed that same example? What would we experience? I can tell you.
Unstoppable.
Momentum.
One of the things that makes me me, that I think everyone can benefit from and every hero of their own story needs, is I simply refuse to give up.
I refuse to give up. I want to see how far life can go. I want to spend every waking hour, every waking day trying to figure out what that is. And I know you do, too. But you gotta follow the process. You gotta become just as spiritually fit as you are physically fit, just as spiritually fit as you are financially fit. You can't erase it. You can't ignore it. You're a whole person, and you need that power, that authority, that optimism, that hope, that belief that comes from this process.
I know you can do it. I know you can become the hero of your own story. I know if you do that, you'll inspire others around you because you'd be surprised at how many people are still stuck in this area over here. Stuck, right? They went through a breakup, they lost their job, they had a car repossessed or any number of things that people define their lives from they're one life event.
You can erase that one life event and put 16 more in its place that are taking you somewhere. Don't define your life by one event. Define your life by becoming who you can become. Focus on becoming more than you are today and you'll always keep winning and and I'll see you in the next video.
