A short motivational YouTube monologue by Stephen (Steven) Scoggins exploring why generous people can be taken advantage of and how to give without getting hurt. The speaker frames two guiding principles (encourage the mind, motivate the heart), asks why givers are hurt, and argues that healthy giving requires clear boundaries, self-awareness, and rebuilding self-esteem. He urges listeners to change perceptions and habits to restore balance in relationships and closes with encouragement to heal and grow.

Hi, I'm Steven Scoggins and once again we welcome you back to the journey. Principles. You know, as always, we have two simple principles here. We want to encourage your mind and motivate your heart. Today we want to discuss givers and takers. You see, I have a question for you. That question is very simple. How can we give without getting hurt? Why do we get hurt when we do give? Sometimes the truth is that givers are often taken for granted and well taken advantage of. But why is that? You see, as our hearts become harder, we begin to give less and less. Slipping into the heart of a taker. Healthy giving is built on boundaries and healthy boundaries. Avoiding the feeling for feeling even guilty for having healthy boundaries. The takers in our lives will be startled at first, but you know, in time they'll learn to grow and respect and even admire this healthy boundary. Trust me on this. It's true. It's been very true in my life. You see, our behaviors are often learned attributes. They tend to shape our lives and values, beliefs and attitudes. If we truly want to change the outcome of any situation or a relationship, we must first change our perception and poor choices of force of habit. You see, awareness for any giver is the first step to recovery, healing and change. If we constantly feel that people are taking and taking advantage of us, our self esteem will be diminished. Over time, we'll learn to give up and not fight. So we owe it to ourselves and our family to find the balance and build our own self confidence from the inside, making us stronger and better. I'm Steven Scoggins and I want to encourage you to heal, grow and go. And we'll see you soon on the next journey. Principles. It.
