Are you just INTERESTED or COMMITTED?

This is a YouTube talk by Stephen Scoggins presenting the “Let’s Go” method — an acronymic framework to move from being merely interested to truly committed. Scoggins explains the first parts of the method: Let go (of limiting beliefs), Evaluate (chart a course and assess emotions, routines, relationships, media), Transition (to a diligence mindset), and Surround (yourself with the right people). The clip emphasizes clarity, direction, action, and disciplined hard work as drivers of momentum and transformation.
I meet people all the time and the one thing that I find that keeps people stuck, or the one thing they all share in common, that has them kind of in that stuck mentality, is ultimately their level of commitment.
Steven Scoggins is the best selling author. He challenges people to break through their obstacles. Coming from a broken home, years of struggle, to launching what would become a multi million dollar construction company. Ladies and gentlemen, Steven Scoggins in the.
What I mean by that is they're super excited about making sure that they can dream about the house, they can dream about the car, they can dream about the vacation, they can dream about the chance to start a new business, or to scale the one they're already in, or somehow to become the top level professional in their occupation. But what they struggle with most is while they're dreaming that stuff is the commitment level that they actually use in order to take it to a whole new level. Now what I believe in doing more than anything else is doing what's called a pattern interrupt. So we want to interrupt the pattern right now. And what I want to do is I want to teach you something new. It's what I refer to as the let's Go method. Yes. You know, I love acronyms because I find that acronyms make it easier for us to remember the things we need to know. Now, when it comes to breaking free and actually getting past that level of simply being interested in life or interested in advancing or interested in something, now you're going to become committed to actually seeing it through, watching it develop, and actually watching it actually materialize in your life on a consistent basis. That's what we need to do. And I found that when I follow the let's Go method, one of the things that happens is, first of all is I had this like super like let's go like mentality, which is pretty powerful. But more than anything else is I actually have a framework in which I can follow. So let's jump in for just a second. So let's break down this acronym. So when we talk about the let's Go method, the first thing we want to do is we want to let go of all preconceived notions, ideas and concepts. One of the limiting beliefs that I see people struggle with more than anything else, and quite frankly, it was one that I actually dealt with on a regular basis, is the thought process of everything that happened in my previous days is somehow going to bleed into my current days. Every type of relationship that didn't work out, every time that I misspent money like all these different things that I could use to pile on guilt, shame and condemnation on me on a regular basis were ultimately holding me back from looking at the potential of, of what I actually had inside of me, of what I actually could do, and actually working towards developing that mentality. So when you let go of preconceived notions, preconceived pains, preconceived ideas about failure and limiting beliefs, what you actually do is free your brain up to actually utilize your brain for your advancement rather than holding you still. Alright, so hopefully that gives you a quick idea. We want to let go of all preconceived notions. We want to let go of everything that we think we know. And, and we want to begin to open ourselves up. All right, step number two, when it comes down to step number two, the next thing we're going to do is the e. We're going to evaluate and chart a course. We want to evaluate our emotional state, like where are we at emotionally? We want to evaluate our emotional ability to regulate. We want to make sure that we are communicating in a healthy emotional response to other people. We want to evaluate kind of what our desires are, what we want, where we want to go, how we want to go there. We want to evaluate the relationships that are all around us. We want to evaluate our daily routine. We want to evaluate the types of books we read, the type of media we consume, the types of things that we let into our lives. Because the reality is the stuff that you let into your life is ultimately deciding whether or not you get to live a life of your dreams or not. So why not be more careful about the circumstances, the environments and the situations and begin to use the power of choice. Because at any given moment, at any given time, you can choose. And it was one of the biggest life beliefs or biggest life lies that I had was I believe that I did not have choice because I was taught to become a victim. And let's face it, you can't be a victim and a victor all at the same time. So why not focus on the victory side? Why not focus on understanding and evaluating what needs to change, what needs to be amplified, what needs to be clarified. But at the end of the day, we are evaluating our life through a process of self reflection which will take us to step number three. Step number three of the let's go method is actually pretty important and it is transition to a diligence mindset. I want you to transition to a diligence mindset. What I mean by this is one of the Core attributes of developing a meaningful life, a meaningful profession, a scalable business is always comes down to the diligence in which you are pursuing it. Remember earlier, it's like, are you interested or are you actually committed? Let me tell you a brief idea of what commitment looks like to me. When I first started my first business, literally out of the trash piles, building some scaffolding, I didn't take a single day off for four straight years because I was absolutely committed to getting myself out of harm's way and getting myself into a future that I could be proud of, that I could love, something that could feed me my future family, my ideas, my dreams, my transformation. At the end of the day, you have to ask yourself continually, am I actually doing meaningful efforts towards a meaningful end? Or are you letting distraction get in your way? Are you letting poisonous relationships get in your way? Are you letting your limiting beliefs get in your way? What are you letting get in your way to interrupt the diligence that you need to do the work you need to do? I can tell you that one of the easiest ways to recognize what kind of work you need to do is that it's oftentimes the very work you don't want to do. It's the work that's really hard. It's the work that you're not going to get an immediate win. It's the work that's going not to come easy, but it's going to develop you and train you to become stronger, smarter, faster. I like to say it's doing the hard work first. I always do the big scary thing as often as possible to make sure that, that I can keep myself building momentum and I don't get caught stuck on my heels and falling backwards. Because I also learned by doing the hard work first in a more consistent methodology, through the power of diligence, I create momentum. And momentum much like a locomotive train is. If you can get that train moving consistently, the train is damn near unstoppable. So why not become unstoppable for your own life? Why not lean into methodology of diligence? Why not do that? All you need to do is have clarity, direction, and take action. One of the reasons that the let go method is so powerful is because of the way in which it actually gives us the track record for clarity, direction and action. Clarity, direction and action. Look at this. Let go. Of all things, you're getting clarity, you're getting clear on who you are, why you're here, what you're doing about it, evaluation, you're learning what Kind of things that need to be added to your life. What types of things need to be subtracted from your life? And then we get into the action phase here, which is the transition into the diligence mindset. Now, once we master the clarity, direction and action phase, now we got to start thinking about relationships and routine. So the S in let's go. Is simply surround yourself with the right types of people. Now, one of the things that I hear all the time at live events, or one of the things that I hear oftentimes during the podcast or even some of these other videos when I'm talking to clients and customers and is the simple fact that I don't have access to so and so I live out in the middle of nowhere, the boonies. I have no access. I would say that's not true. I would say you have access. You just haven't realized you have access because you haven't been looking for immediate access. Never in the power of mankind has it ever been easier to get your hands on powerful information to help you win. You can tie yourselves to the right type of people, provided you know what you're looking for. So some of the things in which I tie myself to the right type of people are several things. Here are a few. Number one, one of the things I'm looking for, key, specific key, is a level of character integrity. Now, when it comes down to choosing the right type of people to surround yourself with, whether they're digitally or they're in a book or a podcast or wherever, again, you have access to people, even though they may not be physical access, but all of them have to have a few things in common. First of all, you have to be able to trust the character. Second of all, trust the integrity. Third of all, trust the honesty. And fourth of all, in many cases, trust the loyalty. Now, you can have loyalty from a digital mentor simply based on the fact that they produce content on a consistent basis that then you can feed on. I'm convinced that if you do those few things, you will be able to better select people to actually tie yourself to. Now, here are a few things to avoid when actually surrounding yourself with the right people. First of all, you need to identify if you're already connected to the wrong people. In other words, are you already connected to people that are intentionally trying to hold you back, intentionally telling you you can't do something or you shouldn't do something, because if you do, you'll change. The reality is, if you're going to change and transform, you're by definition not Going to be the same person that maybe they grew up with or you live with as an adult or whatever. The reality is your transformation is solely dependent on your availability to allow yourself to be transformed. And by surrounding yourself with negative people who don't think they're going on the same journey, who don't see the same, well, the opportunity that lays before you when you surround yourself with those people, what you're actually doing is putting chains on your ankles, allowing you to drag yourself forward. It's a lot harder to climb the mountain if you're anchored to the mountain. So why not better understand whether or not you are surrounded by the right people and in such a way that actually gives you life, gives you empowerment, and then it gives you encouragement that you need to ultimately have the wisdom that you need in order to actually move forward. Which brings me to our next point, the G in the let's Go method.
Which is guard your heart, your mind, and your soul. Guard yourself at all cost. Make sure that what you are watching, what you are listening to, what you are reading is actually feeding you. Guard yourself to the degree that you have to understand that there are forces in the world as a whole that truly don't want to see you win, that truly want you to remain obscure, that truly want you to make you feel underestimated and inconsistent. They're the very same forces that have likely been holding onto you all this time. And what I'm here to tell you is when it comes to guarding your heart, your mind, and your soul, all you are doing is giving yourself a fighting chance to live the life you ultimately want to live on your terms and not someone else's. When you don't guard your own mind, your own heart, and your own soul, inevitably what happens is you start living someone else's life. And I can promise you, there is nothing more painful than living someone else's life. Why? Because the dreams aren't the same. The growth isn't the same. The relationships aren't the same. The opportunities aren't the same. The possibilities aren't the same. The only way you get to live a ultimate, meaningful, prosperous life is to fully understand that what goes in your mind comes out through your actions. After you go through all of this, you're actually really ready for the next phase, which is optimization. You're going to optimize your day, your week, your month, and your year. You're going to set up the dominoes in your favor. You want to make sure every domino knocks down the following domino behind it all the way to you reach your goals. Now, one of the things that I do specifically is I set outcomes and not goals. A goal to me is just simply something I aspire for, where an outcome to me is something I'm destined for. Now, once we understand that, we can then begin to break some stuff down because an outcome to me has to be so clearly defined that you can use all five and yes, even your sixth sense, if you got it, to make sure that everything inside of you has painted a great mental picture about what you're supposed to do with the information, with the training, with the resources, with the relationships, with the mentorship, all of that to put into the proper lane and to do that. One of the things that's going to happen is you're going to see very clearly that the next step for you is probably actually measuring your various milestones, taking the time to measure what it is that you need to do today that ultimately knocks down the domino for this week, where that ultimately knocks down the domino for the next month, the two months, the three months, the six months, a year, and so on and so forth. I have outcomes set up for six months, I have outcomes set up for a year, I have outcomes set up for three years and outcomes set up for five years. Now, I don't start going after my outcomes directly for my five year goal. Instead what I do is I make sure that my six month, my one month, my three year, all knock down my five year. That way I have less stuff to focus on, I have less distraction, and I'm able to focus on two or three specific key things to allow me to level up, create momentum and to keep moving forward, which is ultimately. Let's go. So I'm going to give you a quick short list of things that I believe that have actually helped me 10x my productivity and then allows me to go spend time with people I love and respect the most.
