Do THIS Every Morning to MAXIMIZE Manifestation

Stephen Scoggins and Brandon Epstein discuss subconscious blocks that sabotage manifestation. They identify core wounds like worthlessness and generational programming, explain why external success doesn't fix inner conflict, and offer practical steps: awareness alarms, breath work, body sensing, and reframing exercises to transmute limiting beliefs.
Chapters
I think that's what so many people miss. They read these motivational books or watch YouTube videos. They get all psyched up. They're like, I'm going to do X, Y and Z. They never take the first step, which is like, what is resistance at the subconscious level that's been holding you back from doing those things? Because, you know, those things aren't mind blowing epiphanies. It's like, you read this book on habits. Wait, so you're telling me if I just like, eat healthy food every day and I do that every day, that I'm going to start to be healthier? Maybe I'll lose weight and I'll feel better. Mind blown. Right?
But why don't you do it? We have to deal with the subconscious program. And that big one, that core one so many of us hold, is the I'm worthless. I'm not worth shit. Obviously, in my book, I talk about some experience that I had and how I gained that, that programming. And I saw how much it held me back. And once I removed that and reprogrammed it, boom. My income and ear earning potential went through the roof. And so many things in my life got better because that artificial ceiling that was placed there was finally removed.
Guys, I'm one and only Brandon Destiny. Dude, what's going on, man?
My brother, so grateful to be here with you. Such a blessing. I'm just happy to share space and see what comes up, man.
Yeah, yeah. You know what's crazy? Like, so I love your work. I love all things un unwinding or unprogramming, I would say.
Right.
You know, I realized a long time ago that you're either being program programmed or you're choosing to program yourself basically with what you consume and the resources and people you meet and all that kind of stuff, you know. And it's funny, my.
Chastity, who's, who's my partner in life here and in business. Ironically, she works for the company as well as, as you know, our, our life together. She came to me recently and she goes, hey, you know what? You've, you've done really well. Like, you've, you know, you went from homelessness to building, you know, nine figures in top line revenue. So that's, that's one massive journey with lots of hurdles and lots of overcoming and mindset traps. And she goes, she goes, but I think you have billionaire talents. I'm like, what? She's like, yeah, you have billionaire talents. It's like you have everything you need to build a ten figure business. Already wrapped up inside of you. And when she said that, my first reaction was not now, creep in mind, she's my partner in life. She knows, she knows me more or tighter than anybody else because she spent so much time with me.
Right.
So she knows me better than anybody else. And she's saying this, but yet she's saying this to me. And I'm like, nah, you know, I'm thinking like, you know, I'd probably, I could probably generate a couple hundred, couple hundred million a year. That's, you know, it's very, you know, it's. That's more than enough, more than we'd ever need to be, live a lifestyle and help people and all this kind of stuff. And as we were getting started, you were like, hey, why don't we workshop some stuff? So my question to you, I guess, coming out of the gate would be this.
Why was I resistant to the billion dollar vision that she was casting as my partner in life?
Well, and you know this, I'm sure a lot of your audience knows this, but it doesn't matter how far we go on our journey, it's only natural for that governor to turn on. We try to go a little bit faster, a little bit further. Yeah. And so you could be trying to make your, you know, your first $10,000 month, right?
Yeah.
You'd be trying to make, you know, your first dollar in a business, whatever it is, whatever that next step is, the governor turns on. Because subconsciously in our biology, our body's going, it's safe, it's fine. Why are you trying to change things? We're thriving. There's nothing wrong here. Even if in your head you're like, well, what do you mean? Like things could be so much better. Well, what your biology really understands in that moment is that you're fed, you have roof over your head, you're safe. So why would you want to go further? And if you do, try to get out of your comfort zone and go further. Yeah. That could mean risk. That can mean, you know, to your subconscious, can mean potential death because you're going out of the cave, you're going to uncharted territories. So I think it's just in our biology, it's not rational. And so, so much of the work that I do, it does not even touch the rational mind, because rational mind can't make sense of why we feel drawn to some things or feel resistant towards others. So coming back, to answer your question, I think it's just the next level, the next evolution for you. So the body's like, dude, you're doing great. Nine figure business. Stop.
Yeah.
What are you gonna have to give up? Right? Is it gonna be less time with your family? Right.
You know, I think, and I don't mean to cut you off there, but as I'm, as I, as I was kind of walking my way through that, that conversation, clearly I've got somebody who believes that I can do amazing things, which is fantastic to be aligned with somebody like that. Right. And, and vice versa. She can do some really incredible things as well and is, and is doing incredible things. But the first thought was, it's like, I don't have anything to prove to anybody. Like, I've already, like, I'm, I'm good. Like, I've, you know, I'm, I'm helping people on a regular basis. I'm, I'm helping entrepreneurs build their own businesses without a lot of the strife and the struggle and the poison that I had to overcome in building mine, you know, just through experience and wisdom, you know, but at the same time, it's like.
Part of life is trying to figure out what you can make of it, what you can do with it at the end of the day. Right. So. So I was kind of. That my governor kicked in from a place of. All right, are you starting to go over accelerate or be the overachiever again? Or are you simply resistant, resisting contentment and fulfillment at the level of which you're at?
Yeah, what's coming for me is like, there's maybe what feels like to me is like there's more like echoes of old fear. And even if you bring awareness to that, that'll actually go away and you'll be able to bring clarity into. Is there actually inspiration there? Like, why get to that next number? Like, what. What is there? What am I going to accomplish? Right. Like, yeah, I know you're, you're a believer in God, so it's like, I feel like God really wants you to have a reason to make that money.
Right?
Like, what are you going to do with it? Like, the number, for the sake of the number. There's no inspiration there. Right. That just feels like a. Just trudging forward in obligation. But if there's like this beautiful vision that's crafted, it's like, hey, when I make this money, I'll be able to create this contribution, this change in the world, you know, I'm going to be able to so much. Be so much more purposeful. I think that's a reason to move towards it. So I would say, like, you There needs to be an alignment there. What's going to pull you towards that billion dollar business. Otherwise. Yeah, it may not make sense because it's silly just to chase a number for a number itself.
Yeah, no, I, and that, and I think that's the, the part of the spirit, right, that I was kind of like wrestling with a little bit. You know, if, if I was a ten figure earner, there are a lot of, there are a lot of things in the world that need help. Now I will tell you that a lot of folks or non profits and organizations and stuff like that, that, that in theory you could, you could backfill with resource.
As a byproduct because there, there becomes a point in time where your lifestyle is amazing. You can travel, go and do what you want to do and whatever and then that's, there's, there's, there's so much overflow that you got to do something amazing with it. Right. So.
But I have dealt with issues with trying to figure out where to deploy capital for the greatest lift that actually helps humanity. In fact, I did a study four or five years ago and in the faith community there's, you know, there's, there's people that are always asking for, you know, God, please bless me with this and please bless me with that and please fix this and please fix that and you know, please solve my problems, let me live in bliss and whatever, you know. And the crazy part is, is they did a study and in the quote unquote Christian community, people that profess themselves to be Christian. Okay, so it's a very big net, right? Yeah, all kinds of denominations, all kinds of levels of connectedness versus disconnectedness, etc. The study showcase that there was trillions and trillions of dollars in that environment, in that quote unquote people group, if you will.
Basically what the study showcase was is there's enough wealth already in the professing Christian body, if you will, to solve the vast majority, if not all the world's current needs. So hunger, homelessness, mental illness, like all these different things. There's already enough resource. So it's like the divine is already resources, but we're not using the resources properly. So part of me wants to avoid getting in a position where I'm not using resource properly.
Yes, yes.
Does that make sense?
Of course. So it comes up for me is like, yeah, the first step before even thinking about a billion is feel really aligned with the contribution you can make with the income you have coming in right now. And then it's like, oh, Man, I'm making such a big difference. What would it be like if I took this system that I created and I doubled it or tripled it, and there is going to be the. That pole that's going to get you to want to actually go after that.
Yeah, no, that's great, man. Dude, you know, it's. It's funny. I was. I was. I was enjoying your book, and there's. There's so many different directions we can go. Because when it comes to programming and understanding the human mind, your condition, your own biases, your own upbringings and traumas and all kinds of things, there's. There's a lot to walk through, right? There's a. There's a tremendous amount. So one of the things I want to talk about is just what does it really take to unlock a subconscious mind? Like, because, you know, most of us are operating, sleepwalking, if you will, through life. We're not really. We're not really living. I think living is not. Subconscious mind.
Yes. Yeah, I mean, you gotta get present, right? So that means you can't be thinking about the future, can't be thinking about the past. Most of us are operating, and if we get into the scientific terms, beta, mostly beta brainwave state, which is like the conscious mind, just BDI is just like looking to the right, looking to the left. What's going on? What do you do next? Right. Check my phone. What's going on? I need another snack. Boom, boom, boom. Dopamine. Dopamine. Dopamine. So you have to get out of that state. You got to slow down. What slows down expands, and you can go within yourself. So that's the first step. So that can be as simple as closing your eyes, taking a few deep breaths, maybe even visualizing as your muscles relax, your bones relax, your organs relax, just sitting deeper and deeper into yourself. And then you have to realize this work is spiritual work. So. And if someone isn't. Doesn't really resonate with me saying it's spiritual work. Well, it's energetic work, right. It lives in the physical body. It's not in the head. So if you want to get to your subconscious, you're not going to think of the solution. It doesn't live up there. It's stored in the body. We have energy centers in the body. So you have to get beyond your mind. And for a lot of guys especially, we have this barrier around being able to do that, where we believe that, you know, feeling our feelings makes us weak or being vulnerable makes us weak. So we have to overcome that burden, to start and be able to believe that. No. Feeling my feelings makes me stronger. More depth and power into my life. So going into yourself in the present moment, that is the first step. And then feeling your feeling, because the feeling is a gateway into where that subconscious is and what it is. So you have to be able to feel your feeling first. So that's the first step for us.
Yeah. No, that's a great. I thought. I was thinking. I don't know why this popped up, but I have this picture that used to hang in a movie theater that I used to have in a house I used to own. It was a picture of Wolverine with his big claws out, right? And it says, wolverine's strength is not in his claws. It's in his vulnerability.
Right? So it's. It's funny you mentioned that, because I know one of the things I've been working on for the last several years is I think this is one of the reasons chastity and I can actually connect at a deeper level on a consistent basis with just talking communication is understanding their. The polarity and the duality, if you will, between the masculine, feminine, right? So you got masculine energy. That's the dominance and the grind and the grit and to go after it and the aggression and whatever. And you've got the. You know, what some would call the feminine energy, which is more the empathy, the compassion, the grace, the mercy, the joy. You know, it's funny that when I began sharing more of my personal stories, which historically, the. The masculine, the un. The wounded masculine, would tell you, hey, no, dude, you can't do that. You can't let people know what's going on. Like, what. What will they think? You know, the crazy part was, when I started doing it, what I realized is what they thought was, hey, I can see myself in him. Hey, how did you pivot around this? Hey, how did you get. How did you do this? How did you shift your mindset over here? How did you. How did you get rid of these toxic people around you that were, like, feeding on you consistently, you know, how did you start working in the shadow, like, all this kind of stuff, you know, without losing your sense of faith and sense of self? And it's funny that the vulnerability really is the key to that next level. To that. To that. Some of my friends would call it their higher self. I would call your higher self, your best self. It's. It's. It's what, you know, if you. If you believe in a creator, like, the creator put you on this planet to become like, it's, it's the experience. Some would say that at the end of life we get to go back to the Creator and just tell them all, all the, everything that happened and like what we, what we explored, what we discovered and how experiential it was. And there's no, there's no guilt and judgment and condemnation or whatever. It's just like, oh, that's so cool. It's like with a three year old they bring you like the, the coloring book with the little scribbles all over top of it. And of course, you know, the, the colors are all outside of the lines and you're just like, you're like, oh, that's so amazing. You know, that kind of vibe. You know what I mean? So anyway, I don't know why I went on that tangent, but you know, one of the things that I read in the book that I, that I really resonated with, and this is something I battled for a long time and I'm sure still do at some level, and I think a lot of men do, I think I would say a lot of people do, is worthlessness.
Yeah.
What is it that we get wrong about, quote unquote, being worthy or feeling worthy? That really kind of gets us off track and off center.
Yeah. I think a lot of us experience a core wound early in life. And, you know, the worst thing that ever happened to you is the worst thing that ever happened to you. So it doesn't need to be something where, hey, like I watched, you know, someone I love die in front of me. Doesn't have to be like crazy sexual abuse. Sometimes it is those things. Sometimes it's just like, hey, you know, I was screamed at and belittled at 5 years old in a way that humiliated me so much that it causes core wounds. So whatever it may be, we have, we all have to some degree, these core wounds. And if they're not resolved, they leave this lasting subconscious programming of I'm not enough, I'm not worthy. You know, you can say it in so many different ways. I'm worthless. And that programming acts as that governor we talked about in the beginning of our call where it's like, well, if you don't believe you're worthy, then you don't blur. You don't deserve anything.
Yeah.
So you're going to sabotage yourself every time you try to achieve whatever it is, whether you're trying, you start to get a good romantic relationship. Well, if that person wants to be with you and you're worthless what does that say about them? They must be really terrible. Right. Or you start to have some success in business and then the subconscious goes, no, no, remember, you're worthless. You're not enough. Like, you're not. Then you're going to sabotage yourself and be like, you're going to do things subconsciously, obviously, rationally. We would never choose to let ourselves down in that way. But those core wounds leave these lasting subconscious programs that act as this artificial governor that holds us back from doing the things we need to do to get to where we want to get to in life. And I think that's what so many people miss. They read these motivational books or watch YouTube videos. They get all psyched up to, like, I'm going to do X, Y and Z. But they never take the first step, which is like, what is resistance at the subconscious level that's been holding you back from doing those things? Because you know, those things aren't mind blowing epiphanies. It's like you read this book on habits. Wait, so you're telling me if I just, like, eat healthy food every day, and I do that every day, then I'm going to start to be healthier? Maybe I'll lose weight and I'll feel better. Mind blown. Right.
But why don't you do it? We have to deal with the subconscious program. And that big one, that core one so many of us hold is the I'm worthless, I'm not worth. Obviously, in my book, I talk about some experience that I had and how I gained that, that programming, and I saw how much it helped me back. And once I removed that and reprogrammed it, boom. My income and earning potential went through the roof. And so many things in my life got better because that artificial ceiling that was placed there was finally removed.
Yeah. No, that's, that's awesome. And, and yeah, I think that's a reality for a lot of folks. In fact, I think the, there's a direct correlation. The things that you can quote, unquote, attract into your life is a byproduct of kind of what you believe about your life. Right.
Yes.
And I think one of the things you and I both agree on is the importance of working from the inside out, not the outside in.
Yeah.
But yet pretty much every media source or everything in the world as we know it in this reality with we know it is coming at us from an outside in mentality. Right. And it takes a minute for us to kind of go from the outside in mentality over to this place of Being aware of the fact that we.
Need to develop and even there's that and there's the people who've already achieved the external things. And you probably know this from some of the circles that you're in that are still running that same program. Like yesterday, I'm working with this NFL player. It's pretty cool, full circle moment for me. He's on my favorite team, dudes making $13 million a year. But he still believes that he's not going to get there. Right. It's like, dude, you're living your dream. Yeah. You're a starter in the NFL. You're making tens of millions of dollars a year. Like you're there. But if, like you said, if we're, it doesn't matter if we haven't achieved those things yet. If you haven't achieved the external things that you think they're going to make you feel good inside and like you finally got there, you won't get there by going, trying to go outwards. And if you happen to get there just by pure force and will, you're still not going to feel like you're there unless you go and do the inside work. So either way, you got, you got to do the same stuff.
Yeah, no, it's funny, I was, I was thinking of my wealthiest moment. Okay. Meaning my most liquid cash on hand kind of moment. Okay. I was also my most unhappiest.
Which.
I think is a paradox because we're, we're taught, go achieve, go do go do, go do, go achieve, achieve, earn that that's going to make you happy and fulfilled. Right. And then I think a lot of people that end up generating certain level of wealth, I know some, just some clients that I have that are actually several higher earners than me, we're always working on like this place of contentment and fulfillment and joy, like finding joy in the, in today, not next year or ten years from now. Because there's this pursuit of, to your point about your NFL players, like, I've got it, I've got it. But yet I still feel like there's more, but yet I don't know why I'm pursuing it to begin with. Like there's not an unwinding of sorts. Yeah, maybe let's, let's do a little subconscious work here and just kind of, maybe we'll, we'll use someone who's maybe a high net worth individual who doesn't feel happy, doesn't feel joy, doesn't feel fulfilled.
What are three or four things that they can work on today to start to unwind that lack.
Yeah, I'll give them a little bit of roadmap that they can work themselves down. This is what essentially what playbook. The playbook is in my book. It starts with you. The first question you asked me, how do I get on this path? It's awareness. So how do you build that awareness? Well, I always tell my clients, I don't want you to have to meditate to feel okay or calm or peaceful. I want you to become meditation. Meditation is a beautiful tool. Meditation, prayer, all those things. But you don't want to have to have to go to them to get to that place of oneness. You want to be able to do the inner work so you can live in that state. So the first step is to step fully into awareness. So you can set alarms in your phone to go off every three hours while you're awake that just ask you, how does it feel to be you right now? Now this is so powerful. Only the most courageous people out there will do this work. Because then everything becomes so expanded and it's like the veil is lifted. Because now you know how you feel and you have to face that. Yeah, right. And you have to sit into the tension of, okay, I don't feel good. So after we do that for a week, the next week you add another step. You're going to ask yourself, okay, how do I feel? And then what was I focused on right before that feeling emerged? Then you're going to see how much of a conscious creator you are of your own reality experience by noticing, oh, you know what? When I focus on, there's not enough time left in the day. I feel anxious. So it's like you're creating your own suffering in this cycle. Right? This super high achiever, people living that all the time. Like, I have similar types of clients, business owners, high achievers, people who are like constantly rushing ahead and it's creating the feeling of anxiety. Okay, well, let's bring awareness to how you do that. So what do you focus on? Okay, I'm focused on how other people aren't doing, doing their job. They're not pulling your weight. Right. So the anger comes up through that. Or I'm focused on I don't have enough time to get my work done. Okay. Anxiety comes up through that. Oh, I'm focused on how I am not being there for my kids or my family like I need to because I have to get this project done. Feeling of guilt comes up through that. So just noticing you create the feelings most people go Those people made me feel that way. These circumstances made me feel that way. Right. So this step three there is just to be able to identify how your focus creates your feelings. Now once you do that, the next week, you get a little bit more power in your hands. And if you guys want to write this down as I'm going through this, feel free. The next step for the following week be to would be to do the exercise again. Now when the alarm goes off this time, if you feel good, job's done, just move on with your life. If you don't feel good, ask yourself, what was I focused on that made me feel this way? And then flip your focus, because usually your focus is going to be on something outside of your control. Gives you that undesirable feeling. The opposite focus is going to be something that's in your control. So let's look at a few of those examples I just gave. The first example being of, well, focus. I don't have enough time to get the work done today. Get all my work done today. Okay. The opposite focus is I have more than enough time to get done what needs to get done today.
That's so good. I like the fact of studying the alarm cat aspect as well to be a bit of a mental trigger to stop and become more aware of where you are in the moment and maybe how to put it together a little bit differently. That's so, so good. You know, when it comes down to it, I'm wondering about self sabotage. Right. Because you mentioned it earlier. As we're going to get started, I think one of the first things that I dealt with early on, even in getting into the conscious awareness, you know, I was intentionally trying to become more self aware with my days, my hours, my weeks. And that was the catalyst for me. Right. I call it the seven levels of life Mastery. Right. Awareness is number one.
The thing that kept getting in my way is I would start doing the work, I would start benefiting from the work, and then I would do something to disrupt the work, and then that would cause me to like fall. Call it. And I'm using rungs of a ladder just as an analogy. It would cause me to go from, you know, I might. I might have gotten to rung number six and I would fall back to rung number four because of something that I chose to do, whether consciously or subconsciously. Some. Why do we self sabotage? Why do we. Why do we put impediments in our way that don't need to be there?
Yeah. So I would say most of those are probably been put in there early in life, probably between the ages of 0 and 7. And you have to understand that most of it, we don't put these in there. They get put in us. I mean, we live in a very sick society in general. Right? A feeling society. And this is, this is not to be overly critical. It's just like you see, like most relationships end, right? Most marriages end in divorce. Most people are in some form of debt. Most people are obese. Like all those things we go through, like, you know, health, wealth, happiness, relationships, the different buckets of life, most people are not doing great. And so if you grow up in that society and your parents didn't resolve the subconscious programming they needed to deal, they needed to deal with, that becomes your programming. So zero to seven, you're growing up with people around you who don't want you to fail, but they're programming you to fail because that's who they are. Like you could say all the right things. You could read your kid motivational books every night before bed. They're going to follow who you are, not what you say. Yeah. And so first of all, why do we sabotage? We get programmed to fail through those early years. And then if you have multiple emotional experiences where you experience some kind of failure or some kind of trauma later in life, that will leave scar tissue as well. You know, maybe you're someone who tried to start a business and you, you tried a few different businesses and maybe by the third one you ended up getting a bunch of credit card debt or maybe you couldn't pay back a loan and then you developed the program. I believe I can't be successful in business. That will stop you. You'll never try to start a business again as long as you believe that to be true. That governor is going to prevent you from doing the work. Or even if you start again, you're going to sabotage yourself and bring yourself back down. Those wrongs you talked about because you believe you can't be successful in business. I think we've all experienced this in some aspect of our life and correlate to this. So that's why it's so important to reprogram where we were previously programmed to fail.
Dude, that's so good. I'm also thinking that one of the things, the tricks that I've used and this goes along with your work as well, is right before I make a decision, now that I'm more self aware than I was, you know, then, or even like a week ago, I asked myself a decision or a question. Now Is this decision going to serve me?
Because nine times out of 10, if I have a self sabotaging behavior or thought or a belief system around something, when I ask that question of it, it very says, oh, this is a self sabotage thing. We need to do some more work here. And it's, it's leading me to share an experience with you that I had when I was about 13 years old. Okay. So I grew up in a very chaotic, some would say toxic, but very impoverished style lifestyle as a kid.
Okay.
Mother struggled with mental illness, off and on. Dad struggle with alcoholism, largely gone out of my life. Raised by a grandmother, so on and so forth. She passes away of cancer about 11 years old after I helped her take care of my little brother for about two years. So from 9 to 11.
I move in with my father. We go to a, a mobile home park after getting evicted and a house for getting foreclosed going through, My dad went through bankruptcy, much of other things. Okay, so we get in this mobile home and we've been in the mobile home maybe two or three weeks, maybe four weeks, not, not long. Okay. And like any mobile home park, they have a park for kids. Okay. For some reason I went to bed. I woke up clear awake, felt compelled to walk out of the mobile home down to the park, knelt down between the swing set and the monkey bars, if you will, the, the climbing set, kneeled on my knees, looked up at the stars and said, lord, please let me be the one to break the family curse. Okay. To this day I can't tell you why I uttered those words. I was not a professing believer necessarily at that time, in one way, in one way or another. I mean, I've always kind of known because I, I've always been energetically know that there's a source greater than self that's, that somehow is orchestrating slash influencing, slash loving. Like, like I've just, I've just always known that, but at the time I was not aware of any of that. Now take that one moment. Contrast that from that moment to where I am in my life. I'm still today, even now, the, the quote unquote, black sheep in the family.
We call it, I call it being, becoming the one, right? So become the one that inspires the, the many to become the one, right? Which is the, which is where the tree forks off. So matter what baggage and trauma and whatever, you know, that's in that generational line. And you know, we went. I went back almost 500 years in my lineage and discovered that there had not been a Scoggins, that had been a person of influence or affluence. It was always impoverished. It was always just getting by. And then fast forward to my teenage years. 17, 18. Remember my father telling me one time that skygons don't get ahead, they get by. Which my audience has heard me say. Right. So all these different belief mechanisms, these belief systems. That's why I wanted to bring up this programming piece. Because I think people are walking around totally unaware of the things that are. They're actually, I believe that are actually transferred through DNA. Like there's. Because we, we as humans, you and I think are would agree on this. We trap energetic wounds inside the body that if left unreleased, become part of the body. Therefore, when you transfer part of your body to another body and to create a new body, it has the elements of both bodies.
Yeah, right. Definitely, yeah.
So how do we become aware of some of those? I would, I think. I think we would both call them generational curses based on what I saw in the book. How will we become more aware of those things? We can begin to uproot and work on them. Because I know from that time of that being 13 years old to the time of being in adulthood, there was a lot of.
There was a lot of things that I had to walk through and go through to clean out the mess that I was not expecting. And being 13, had I known what I was going to walk through, I probably would have been scared enough not to. I'm glad I did. Hindsight being 20 20, don't get me wrong. But still.
Yeah, yeah. It's funny, I want to mention, you know, you. Your dad had that saying. My dad had like a similar one as well, but it was like nothing comes easy to us, you know, it's just like everything has to be, you know, struggle anyhow. It's funny how parents pass that along as like a point of pride maybe.
Where it's like, well, they really loving us.
They think, yeah, yeah, yeah. But it's just. It's just such garbage because it's just feeds of fear.
Yeah. So how do we deal with these generational curses? Okay, so we have to identify them. And we can do so by just identifying where we're struggling in our life right now. I think it's like every good personal development event, you're going to be asked to do this. I imagine you have some version of this in your training, right? And what I have my clients do is sit down, close their eyes, go into meditation with me, and then I ask them to just give each of these buckets in their life a score from 1 to 10 and say, okay, your mental well being, like, how does it feel to be you on a daily basis? One is you truly don't want to live anymore. Ten is a feeling of complete wholeness and connection. One to ten, where are we? Physical health, one to ten. Career satisfaction, not about the money, but the satisfaction with how you spend your time. Are you purposeful? 1 to 10 your finances just not compared to anyone else. But for you, one to ten relationships, a few buckets. I like to look at your tribe, so especially, you know, these influential people. I work with a lot of pro athletes. The people care about you for who you are and not what you can do for them. Yep. Especially as you know, the more distinction become big distinction. So that tribe is so important. And then you have your romantic relationship, of course, and your work relationships. So you want to see where your generational curses are. Just go through and give a score to each one of those areas and then feel into each one and imagine, okay, if this were a 10, what would that feel like? You know, what would be the emotional frequency of living in that. And then you're going to find the curses in the, in the separation between where you are and where you want to be. So you can feel into that and feel into the fear, the anxiety, anxiety, the worry, the guilt, the shame, those emotions. And through the emotion you can go beneath the conscious level into the subconscious. And so if you feel shame in your body. Right. Let's say I'm taking a hypothetical. Maybe you always are struggling with romantic relationships and so you, you go in there and you feel shame in your body and that usually lives in the lower stomach. And so you feel shame and you ask yourself, what am I believing to be true that make me feel so shameful? Oh, I believe nobody would ever love someone like me. Right. Maybe some. Maybe that's what you believe. And so that's a generational curse. Like you didn't choose that. Who would choose to believe that nobody would ever love somebody like me. Or I'm not lovable. Right. Yeah, I believe I'm not lovable. Nobody would choose that. So that's a curse that was passed along to you that you're carrying now. So you have to move through that and transmute it. And we do so by accepting it, surrendering it, removing it into the past and then transmuting it. So the opposite would be, I believe I am lovable. There's a lot of wonderful techniques, a lot of people out there. Obviously I have my own way of doing this stuff of integrating that and getting it stored in the subconscious. A way that becomes automatic and unconscious for you moving forward.
Dude, that's so good. That's so good. I'm literally picturing people that I love dearly in my mind as you were explaining that. And the funny thing is they, they would always say I just, I just don't feel good in my stomach.
Like they would, they would literally verbalize that. I just, it doesn't feel, it's right. I just, it just doesn't feel good right here. Like chakra. Yeah. So it's, it's, it's wild that you even. Yeah, dude, that's awesome.
Yeah. And that's kind of my gift I guess is like when I do sessions with people, that's how I find the subconscious programming. I can feel into their body. And that's where it usually lives. The second or third energy center. It's like, oh, there it is. And I'll even say it. Yeah. I'm not a psychic. People like, how do you know that? And I'm like, because I can feel it. Yeah. You know we're all connected in a field, right. If everything's all God, then why would I not be able to connect into you?
For sure.
We, we're just blocked off and cut off from our connectedness.
Well, yeah, and I'd like to, to that point because I'm, I'm 1000 million percent of Jesus guy.
Okay.
And I've done a lot of work. I've done shadow work, I've done meditative work. I've done all kinds of work. And Jesus is very much still true for me. At the same time, I'm also very aware of a soul's frequency. I discovered that through my own work over time. So for example, with. In my earlier days, when not feeling a sense of quality self worth, I found myself to be more fearful, more anxiety ridden, more shameful, more angry. I would get angrier quicker. And I could feel hindsight being 2020 now. A lower hum.
Right now. I operate enough. Right. So. And then if you look at the, the they just recently been able to do this in the last five years. I forgot the name. But there's a specific camera that uses a magnetic pulse to basically image the magic, the magnetic frequency coming off your body. Okay. Those with a low density or a lower vibration that, that again that I would say is true.
It's very easy to see that about an eighth off the skin, there's a resonance some, some can see colors and tones some can I, I can't. I see. I see muted, muted, muted. Whereas someone who's operating at a higher frequency, it's literally off their body about 5, 6, 7 inches. Which one. Which is. That led me towards the path of, okay, well, if you are actually doing the work, you're cleansing your body, you're releasing the trauma, the sins, the, the baggage, the generational curses and stuff, which is stuff, which is stuff that Jesus actively talked about on a regular basis, you're able to connect to a higher, a higher level of frequency, a higher level of God from my perspective, or a more intimate level with God, creator, source than you can at the same time when you're going through that process. If I was to put a hum, two human beings, they walk into a dark room by themselves, okay? One at a time. So human being walks in room, dark room, by himself. Big, giant, square. Other human beings not in the room. They'll, they would be able to say, yes, I'm alone. Okay. They don't know the second human being walks into the room because they're on the other side or whatever. There's no sense of light or whatever. They would be able to say, I could sense a presence. Okay, so in a 20 by 20 room, two human beings that don't. Can't see each other, can't talk to each other, right? Can sense each other being in the room. Which I think goes to prove that we can all sense and relate to one another at a deeper level if we're open and aware to it. What most of us try to do is we try to close ourselves off to that. And because we try to close ourself off to that, we can't benefit from the, the higher frequencies and things around us that ultimately help us get freedom.
Yeah, yeah. I mean, and I think everyone to some degree can, can feel like if you're a married guy, right, and you know, like your wife's in a bad mood. She didn't say a word, but she comes in the house and you could just feel it. You feel that, you know, the energy. She doesn't have to make a face, she doesn't have to say a word. It's like, oh, yeah, something's going on here. So you're picking up on her frequency and it's in our, it's in our language as well. You hear people say, it's like low vibes. That person's like, low vibe. What are they talking about? They're vibrating at a low frequency rate versus high vibe. They're vibrating at a high frequency rate. And what is it? High frequency? I mean, for me, this is my framework that I work from, like, and I got this from Power Verse Force Book by David Hawkins. Don't know if you're familiar with that, but essentially it's like the lowest frequency is shame, followed by guilt as you're making your way up. The highest is enlightenment. Love.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So as you do that subconscious work, the are, we are innately joy, love, peace, and, you know. Yeah. So you clear that nonsense out and that's just. That's who you are, right? That's. That's really who you are and who you're meant to be.
When the crazy part is, is when you're more congruent with who you're really designed to be. And I say designed. Those low frequency things are really not part of your life anymore.
Yeah, they don't. You don't live. You don't live there.
Yeah. So I'll give you an example. I woke up in a bit of a funk yesterday. For 15 minutes. I have no idea why I was in a funk. Okay. Chastity picks up on it and she says, you know, she tries a couple times to like, talk about it a little bit. She can sense it. I can sense it.
Right.
On the third to a third attempt, I kind of explained maybe one or two of the things that were on my heart, my mind at the moment and that freed air, you know. And then later on in the day, she. She had a. She had this really, really.
It's actually still on Instagram. She. She posted you last night that I thought was powerful. She had a relatively. Well called a tough day because we have. There's kids involved in all kinds of stuff, and she's an excellent mom and dealing with all the things that moms have to deal with in order to make sure the kids are doing what they're supposed to and being, you know, that kind of thing, which is great.
Oh, yeah.
We're conscious about what we're trying to program into the kids, as a rule of thumb. Well, she gets to the end of the day, she's been wanting to create content all day long because she, she also operates in this. In this, the genre as well. And so she goes to create content A couple times, wouldn't work. A couple more times, it wouldn't work. At the end of the day, she comes home, we can depre. We can decompress together, we can share space together. She goes off and records some content downstairs. Okay. Outside on the. We Live in Utah now, so outside my back deck. And she had this really interesting thing. She. This is. She said, never let your emotions be stronger than your mindset.
How. I mean, just thinking about how. How we let our emotions control us and what we think about any given circumstance.
Gets us in a lot of trouble. And I know that's one of the reasons why you're so focused on going from the inside to the outside and making that really much more of a.
Just a. Just more of an enjoyable transition. We're going to be a little bit over on time. I can't help myself. I got. I got at least one more question before I fire it off with you, and where can I find out more about you in the book and your work?
Yeah. Anyone who wants to do this work with me. I take people through an inner planet program. So fundamentally, since you're born, going through all your subconscious programming, getting it all aligned with whatever your goals are, they can reach out to me@thebrandedepstein.com we can do that there. And I got this book, it's on Amazon, Program to Fail. And it tells my story, how I learned all this stuff.
Yeah.
How I got into working in pro sports, my whole journey in that. And yeah, it's on Amazon. So it's really the two best places. And I'm very approachable. You can hit me up on Instagram as well. Brandyepsi underscore dude, love it, man.
And in fact, I was actually thinking I. I consumed the audio version of the book myself. So.
Yes.
Which is always really cool. So, yes. One of the things I've heard you say, we'll close with this. Anxiety is a big deal.
Yeah.
For a lot of folks. Okay. I think anxiety is an inhibitor of success. Whatever success looks like, being a better dad, being a better mom, business relationships, whatever. A lot of times to me, anxiety is trying to control the uncontrollable or somehow setting an expectation that we can't control the outcome on.
Right, agreed.
As we start looking at that a little bit, one of the things I've heard you say before is, and I can't remember if it was on a podcast or show you did or if it was in the book specifically, but I heard you mention before that you weren't actually aware that you were walking with anxiety at certain times. And then once you became aware of it, you began to have an avenue to work on it. Walk us a little bit of that story, if you don't mind. I know we're a little bit over on time, but I think it's a really important concept for people to understand and grasp.
Yeah, I mean, I wasn't even looking to solve anxiety because I didn't know anxiety was a thing, you know, I mean, it really was. Has become a part of the conversation last 10 years or so. So at this time, this was. Yeah, about maybe 16 years ago or so. At this point, I was just looking for supplements to make me a better college football player, which is, you know, I was just straight up meathead. I was like, oh, I'm not. I need to get better at football, get more supplements. Right. What do you got for me? And so I walked into this supplement shot, and the owner of the supplement shop just happened to be. Dude, who's a savant healer practitioner.
Just works heavily in this world of meth performance, and just happened to also manage the shop at the time. And so I started telling him, hey, I need a supplement. I'm trying to get better. And he was like, what else are you doing? How do you feel? It's like, what do you mean, how do I feel?
I.
Football player. I don't have feelings, bro. And so he had me just close my eyes and just feel. And I'm like. I just was like, well, I don't feel good. And he And I. But I couldn't name it as anxiety. I didn't have the language for that. And so he told me, okay, I want you to do this exercise. Look out the window and then. Or face the window, look off into the peripheries of your eyes, and just slowly take deep breaths in and out of your nose.
And by just taking a few of those deep breaths, it was like something clicked. Or for the first time, I was in the present moment. And so the absence of anxiety was something that I noticed because I couldn't even name anxiety. And so just bringing myself into the present made me aware of that. That anxiety. And so the awareness of. Right. That's how we started any of these paths. That right there was like, okay, I know I don't have to live in this anymore. Whatever that default way of being was before doesn't need to be my reality every day for the rest of my life. And so that sent me down this path to, okay, it's all here in the present moment. How do I live here, dude?
That's why I had to give you had to share the story. Because, again, most of us are walking around in a state of complete unawareness, not even trying to become more aware. And I'm hoping by. When we start these Conversations, especially in this, in this field of study that we're doing so with the inspiration tactics for everyone to become more aware. Because you and I know that you know, whatever success means for you, wholeness means for you, fulfillment, joy, contentment means for you, the path there is through this process.
Yes.
Right. And then, and then not letting that transition to the next family tree, you know, if you were the one that is courageous enough and bold enough and, and, and passionate to do this work, you get to be the one that stops it from going any further. So everything that comes on after you is, is a higher state, higher, higher, higher life basically for everybody that comes out to you. You know, think about it. You know, kids, children, right. Where we are now, the programmers, especially from that zero to seven. Right. So if we're a more healed adult, more aware adult, more energetically prosperous adult, as a byproduct, they had their baseline, is starting a hell of a lot earlier than I'm starting. Right.
And just imagine what could be possible for them.
And then now think about 10 generations of that work being continued through 10 generations. Radically different world.
And that's how we heal the world. Truly. Yeah, truly. We have to start on ourselves and then we have to all have many children and be great parents. Yeah. Pass it along to our kids and hopefully they do the same. And then it's just a peopling. These spiritually healed people in the world connect to God, bringing love, joy and happiness. I believe we can live in that world. So I know you do as well. So it's, it's an honor to, to share space with someone who's, who's doing this work as well. And we're doing it, man.
I appreciate it, man. Likewise, dude. Well, I can't thank you enough for being on the show, man.
Yeah, it's been a pleasure. Thank you so much.
Great conversation. Thank you so much.
I hope you liked that video.
And if you did, make sure you check out this next video right here.
I was asked probably seven years ago now, Jed, you're great at speaking to audiences. You can go into a room full of high school students, professional athletes, 60 year old Microsoft Amazonians, but how are you going to reach a million people? And I thought about it and I said I'll never be able to teach a million standing in front of people.
