Today's question is kind of an important one. And here it is. How do I stop thinking about how bad things are? Well, the biggest way to stop thinking about how bad things are is to actually take the time to focus on how good things are. A good friend of mine says it's hard to be hateful when you're grateful. So much of time, we spend so much time looking at all the things that aren't working that we forget about the other things that are working. And if you woke up today with breath in your lungs, it's a good day. Especially if you're surrounded by people that you love and people that love you back. And maybe you're not in that season, which I remember being there myself. Sometimes it's just enough to focus on the breath in your lungs and the opportunities that lay before you. The other thing that you can do to make sure that you don't get so lost in how bad things are is to begin to clearly articulate and lay out a vision of your perfect life in front of you. And as you do that, consider the steps that you're going to have to take to get there. The different mentors, the different learnings, the different pieces of education, the different levels of mentorship, whether it be digital or physical or historical, each of these different things help you shape a future. I find it far more pivotal to focus on where I want to go, but also not devalue where I've been. But if you're always focused on where you've been, then it's gonna be very hard for you to focus on where you're going. It's kind of like looking backwards out of the back window of your car and expecting not to wreck as you're driving. Think about that. You can't turn. You can't make adjustments. You can't turn. Take a turn on the steering wheel. If you can't actually see the steering wheel in the first place, there's the reason why the rear view mirror is so small. It's because you're not supposed to focus there. You're supposed to focus on what's in front of you. And if you'll do that, then I promise these feelings of focusing on how bad things are will be replaced on feelings of where am I going and how am I going to get there? Which means eventually you're going to get to the destination you've been hoping for all this time, and you'll never have to think like that ever again. You've got this. I'm telling you. I Know, it seems super simplistic, but the simple things work. Too many times we're making it overly complex. Don't do that. You don't have to do that. Don't focus on the rear view mirror. Focus on the windshield. Focus on the windshield. Keep moving forward. See you in the next one.
Hey, guys, this next question is kind of a powerful one, and it's one that I can personally relate to, especially going from where I was to where I'm at today. So I'm going to go and take my time to try to answer this to the best of my ability, and that is this. I'm so tired on the inside. What should I do? More times than not, you're in the process of breaking through what's known as a life gate. You're just on the crusp of actually starting the new thing that you've been waiting for all this time. What I mean by that is so many times when I felt like I didn't have the emotional energy or the physical energy to carry through to another day, but I managed to have the courage to stand back up and try again. It never fails that within a few days of doing the very thing that I didn't want to do or didn't think that I had the energy to do, that life seems to open up. I seem to get a level of breakthrough and a level of transformation. Now one of the ways in which I get there is I go into a spirit of gratitude. I start becoming more and more thankful of the air that I breathe, the people that I'm surrounded by, the rest that I got, or even a previous event in my life that I can build from to draw strength from. You know, there are other times where I felt like giving up, but I pushed through when I didn't. I draw on those things to help me push through the things that I don't want to do. Okay. When you're trying to develop a content company in such a way that can help millions of people, well, that's a big thing, right? There are days that I just don't know if I've got the energy to do it. But then I look in this camera, and then I look at these people online and in public and from the stages, and I see the hope and the willingness to transform their own life.
You have to look at your overall impact. So start off with gratitude. Lean into how can this benefit me? How can this grow myself, my confidence? Lean into courage. Dig deep. You've got this. You really do. Now's not the time to Throw in the towel. Now's not the time to stop. Now's the time to break through that life gate and get to the next level. Because when you're in the next level, you'll get a season of rest, a season of recuperation, and you'll start to climb again for your next level. You can do this. So be thankful, be committed, and just take another step and you got this. All right. I can tell you're Type A. The reason I can say this is because of this particular question. How can I personally grow in the quickest way possible? Guess what? You're my people. To be honest with you, I've spent so much of my time trying to rush through the process that I learned that rushing through the process is the exact opposite or the kryptonite of the process. What I would say is, rather than focus on getting through it as quickly as possible, I would prefer that you take the time to do as I've been forced to do, which is to take my time during the process and do it right. Imagine if you're climbing a mountain and you tried to do an escalator up to the top. Well, you might get to the top of the mountain, but you missed out on the chance to build your leg strength and your overall endurance on climbing the mountain in the first place. So the next time that you're supposed to climb a mountain, you're not going to have the leg strength or the endurance. The process is there for a reason. The process helps you become the person you need to become so you can be trusted and have the character traits of someone who can be trusted and to be, well, a steward of greater. There's an Often there's a scripture that comes to mind and I'm just going to butcher it here for just a second. But it says, those that are faithful with the little will be made masters over much. In order to be faithful with the little to get to the master over much, there's a process. There's a process of refinement, there's a process of character building, and there's a process of personal development. So do the work. Don't try to rush the process. Don't do what I, what I did so many years wrong over and over and over again. Instead, trust the process. Lean into the process. Make yourself more self aware. Continue your personal growth. And before long, instead of being a master over little, you'll be made master over much. Stay at it.
Alright guys, how do I discover my life's purpose? If you watched the last video, I Kind of touched on this just a little bit. But again, I find that life's purpose comes down to three important. Serving the person you used to be. Serving. Serving the person you once loved, and serving the person you once couldn't save, or the person you couldn't or you lost. Okay, if you think about all the major initiatives in the world, right, Todd White, for example, a well known evangelist, wanted to witness to a brother of his or a friend of his that he was very close to the passed away before he could. So Todd is a worldwide evangelist. Susan B. Coleman, right. She created an entire organization or was at least the brainchild or the inspiration behind that whole organization towards cancer awareness. I, myself, Dave Ramsey and a few other people are serving the people we used to be. Dave used to be heavily in debt and declare bankruptcy. Well, that's what he does. He teaches people how to get out of debt and how to avoid bankruptcy. I'm teaching people how to transform their life because I was a 20 year old kid that was lost and stuck and frustrated and ready to take my own life. Each of those purposes have something beautiful about them, something restorative about them. They help you uncover who you really are and the value you really bring. Because they help align your strengths, your passion and your opportunities all at the same time. And when you do those things, purpose becomes clear. So oftentimes we're so focused on why we haven't discovered our purpose today then rather understanding that we're actually in the process, that helps us discover the purpose in the first place. So take the time to enjoy the process. Take the time to ask yourself one of those three areas. Is there a way in which you can serve the person you used to be, serve a person you once loved, or serve a person you once lost? Are there different ways in which you can bring your value, your special uniqueness to those people groups and see if you can't find, figure out a way to have purpose, be totally meaningful and something you'd be totally passionate about so you can win each day.
