My wife was in North Carolina at a fundraising event for a local pregnancy center. And Stephen was one of the sponsors of the event and he was there with his book and he met my wife. Our pregnancy center director in Bennington, Vermont, purchased the book for all the staff. And after her description of Stephen and having just a little brief overview of what was the content of the book, I just wanted to meet Stephen during the course of my life. I've read a lot about self help books, and the self help books, at least for me, seem to be helping the person that wrote the book. I think this is probably one of the first times in my life where I've read a book that was really about me and me helping myself through this journey. Well, again, at the risk of being corny, I would have to say there's elements in every chapter that spoke to me and.
Motivated me to work on certain areas of my life that the chapter spoke to. So it's very hard to pick out a favorite chapter. One of the things Stephen likes to say after meeting him is when asked what this book is about, and instead of expounding on the principles and the life lessons and some of the personal testimonies, he makes it real clear. And to me, this hits the nail on the head and that is that this book is really about you. After having the privilege of meeting Steven, I am impacted, needless to say, by his energy and his enthusiasm. But the biggest thing to me was his love and his desire to want to help other people through some of the things that he's experienced and that he's learned. And I just am overwhelmed by his desire to want to help other people. It hits the nail on the head. I guess that's another reason why I was so attracted to the book, because it put the onus on me to learn these principles and apply them to my life and.
Try and prove on integrity and character and just be a better person. I would recommend Journey Principles to absolutely everybody. I think you'll find maybe in my case, all the chapters will speak to you, but I'm convinced you will definitely find a chapter that will speak to you and help you in your life's journey. I recently had the privilege of meeting Stephen Scoggins and his energy and enthusiasm is very infectious. But I'm excited to see a man at his age with the passion that he has to want to help people. I think what he's done is make things succinct. You don't have to be a psychologist or a doctor or any of those things in order to understand the content of the book and practically apply those things that you're learning to your own life. One of the many things I particularly like about the Journey principles is it does speak to the person that has a worldview, someone that is unchurched. Myself, I was more or less born and raised in a church, so it spoke to my heart. But it also I could give this to a friend and they could easily understand what's being said. And the proof is in the reading.
