Hey guys, welcome back. So just as a quick reminder, if this is your first time here, what we do is give you life strategies to help you master every area of your life. Fitness, finance, relationships, you name it. That's what we're here for. In today's lesson, I want to teach you a four step process that I discovered when I was radically changing my life that I think will help you change yours. We call it the Grow process. I know it seems super simple, right? Well, that's because a lot of times most of us make life mastery or life skills or life enhancement overly complicated. And when you take the time to bucket it in these four areas, you can make things a whole lot more bite sized where you can actually take action on a regular basis and make the difference work. So let's jump into it one by one. Gain perspective, recognize roadblocks, organize a plan, and then work your plan. Now here's what I mean. For gain perspective, you need to make sure you can understand. Where am I at today? Where am I at today?
Right. So again, for those of you who don't know, dyslexic, so keep that in mind. Where am I at today? Where am I today? Where are you at in your financial career? Where are you at in your professional? Where are you at in your relationship? And if you were to rate that on a scale of 1 to 10, what number would you give yourself? Until you can determine where you're at, it's going to be very difficult to plot a course to where you want to go. So let's be honest with yourself. Take a couple seconds and think about the one area in your life right now that gives you the most frustration right now. Is it your financial life? Is it your career? Maybe. Take the time, jot down the number and let's go and move into the next section. Okay. The next thing I need you to do is determine how. Whoops. Oh, that's a little squiggly. How you got there, right? How did you actually get to where you're at today?
What skills, what people, what situations, what environments, what things played a part in getting where you are at today? Because if you're not happy with where you are today, sometimes the best thing you can do is retrace your steps so you can figure out which step led you off course. Okay? Alright. Another thing. What's missing.
I know it seems like a super easy, super simple question, but when you actually determine what's missing, you're giving your brain a chance to fill in the blank, right? So what's missing? Is it a specific skill set, a specific guide, a specific mentor, a specific strategy? What's missing that's holding you back? You need to kind of keep an eye on that. Alright? What things do you find confusing?
What types of things that kind of make things a little topsy turvy for you? You need to really dig down deep and actually say, hey, what's confusing in this particular situation? What's causing me the most confusion that's holding me back? Right? All about gaining perspective. When you gain perspective, all you're trying to do is you're trying to take elements of your life and actually take the time to look at it from as many different angles as possible, right? Because with the most angles and the most viewpoints as possible, you're going to have the best chance of making sure that you can actually get something done. For example, I'm going to go ahead and draw this at the bottom so we don't mess this up. But if I was to draw this.
What would you say that is? I've heard an egg, I've heard a solar system, I've heard a target. I've heard all kinds of things, right? But gaining perspective is this one simple shift. Consider this.
All I did was look at it from a different perspective. Here I'm looking at it from a top view. Here I'm looking at it from the side view. You see how pivotal gaining perspective can actually be and why these questions are so vital and so important. Make sure you take the time to really spend time in the G part of the grow process. Gaining perspective. Sit down with a notepad and a pen and gain perspective. Perspective. Don't ask, why me, Ask what can I learn? What do I need to develop? What do I need to shape? Ask those types of questions and your brain will give you awesome, fantastic answers. Alright, next part of the growth process, recognize roadblocks. What relationships are currently holding you back? Right. So when I was in high school, I used to hang out with, let's call it the not so good crowd. I spent a lot of time, unfortunately, chasing things that made no sense, doing things I probably shouldn't have been doing. And well, I learned things I shouldn't have learned. Let's put it that way, right? A lot of times our relationship circle will actually hold us back more than anything else. There's an old Saying that if you show me your five friends, I'll show your future. Right? So my roadblock when I was growing up, unfortunately needed to center around relationships. I needed to make sure that my top three to five people were adding value to my life. They were reliable, they were trustworthy, and they were there to help me make a difference in my own life. Right. Another area that might be a roadblock for you is your overall skill set.
Right. What skills do you have that need to be sharpened? Okay. These are elements of things that when you break it down and you take the time to bucket it, right, you can actually begin to understand what, what it is you need to do next. That's right. Next, the next step. You don't taking the first step because you're scared about not being able to take the second step. That's what the process comes into play. All right. Another potential roadblock, right, Might be your financial skill set. Okay, how financials. I guess we'll put that there. Right? How are you actually currently investing your money? Alright, what I mean by that is, are you spending a ton of time going to the movies or going out partying or going out to the club or going out and buying drinks for people at work? Well, if you're doing that, where could you put the money to actually invest in yourself? Where could you take that investment and invest in getting the new relationships or getting clear on that, getting a different skill set, actually learning how to use that money to make it work for you instead of you working for it? Okay. All of these are examples of recognized roadblocks. Take the time to really, after you gain perspective, to really ask yourself what's holding you back? Okay. All right, moving on. Organize a plan. Okay, this is where I see so many people get so much wrong. Right? They do a good job of gaining perspective. They even do a decent job of taking the time to decipher what it is they need and what's holding them back. Right. We want to recognize remove these roadblocks, but then the next step is just as important and you got to take action. But how are you going to take action if you don't know where you're supposed to take the action? Okay, so here's what I want you to do. When you're considering organizing a plan, I want you to start with the end in mind and work backwards to the starting point. Okay? Take the time to decide, hey, look, I want to increase my income. I want a specific spouse. Right? Take the time to clearly define what that looks like. I also try to teach People to use all five senses. Okay? The clearer you can paint this picture in your mind, the easier it's going to be for you to baby step your way back. Right? So when you go to organizing a plan, step one, start with the outcome. Right. The end in mind. Okay. Work backwards, creating micro steps. Okay. Make sure you have a timeline of how long it's going to take you to do each of these micro steps because it'll help you hold yourself accountable to measurable results. Okay. Make sure you've got an accountability partner in here. Okay?
Right. What I say, relationships. Make sure you got a mentor and a guide to help you get there. All of these things are elements that have to go into your plan. Right. In order to help you go through the next phase. The next phase, the best part is simply work the plan.
Do the work. Right? You've already spent all this, invested all this time over here to make sure you've got things cooking, to make sure you've got perspective. You've identified the roadblocks. You've now began to work on removing them. With the plan that you put in place right now, you got to take the action. You really have to sit down and do the work. You know, in a couple other videos we use the term do the push ups. You got to do the push ups, build a bigger chest, do the push ups. You've got to work your plan, which means on Monday morning you wake up and you go into your routine habit system. Right? Right. You're going to do, I get, for example, I get up at 5am I hit the gym. After I do my little prayer and meditation time in the morning, I hit the gym. I put something in my brain and that feeds my mind, my body and my soul. I then come into my workplace, I get with my executive teams at the different companies I own to kind of make sure that they've got what they need. And then I go about my plan. Right. Part of our plan today was making sure we came in here and created a video that will hopefully help you break free in your own life. All right? So again, grow, process. You can apply it to anything. Life, business, career, it doesn't matter. You can apply it to anything. Okay? Gain perspective, recognize and remove your roadblocks. Organize your plan and work your plan to win. Right? You can do this. And we'll see you on the next video. Take care. That's about all the time we have for today's whiteboard lesson. Hopefully that gave you some real value that you begin to put away right now.
