We have a physical body and then an emotional body, and then we have a mental body and then what's called the supramental body. S U P R A meaning beyond the mental, beyond all the others. And then right after that, we have what's called sometimes the bliss body, but I call it the cosmic body. It's like the connection to all beings. So these aren't bodies, obviously that, like, one's over there, one's over here. It's just all of us in one. There's a state of oneness, and it's like you could fit each body into the necks as a sheath would fit over a sword.
Welcome to Stuck to Unstoppable, where we interview the world's foremost thought leaders to break things down in order to help you get past your hurts, habits and hangups and finally level up and move forward. I'm your host, Stephen Scoggins. Now let's go ahead and get into today's guest and our featured conversation. You're not going to want to miss it. Our special guest today is no stranger to peak performance or creating the peak performance in others, including working with some of the most elite athletes in the NFL, NBA, mlb, and every single organization in between. Laura M. Wild is an amazing author that has a leading authority in holistic mental performance and a certified practitioner of quantum healing and energy. Her unique insight and perspectives have even been seen on national media outlets such as CBS's the Doctors and the Basketball Insider, just to name a few. If you want to learn more about peak performance, then you're in for a treat. Guys, help me welcome Laura. Laura, how are you doing?
Hey, I'm great. So good. Great to meet you. So I get to be here with you. I'm really excited about talking to you.
Oh, you're excited to talk to me? I'm excited to talk to you. Like, I'm really like this space. Our mutual friend David Meltzer, you know, has this thing about vibrating at a higher frequency. But I was joking around with him. I was like, dude, well, all right, so this lady told you on an airplane how to do it. How about telling the rest of us, like, you know.
Kind of deal? I started kind of getting into some of the thought processes and the content you've been putting out. I'm like, okay, I might be able to get a how to manual this go around.
Yeah, the frequency, you know, that's one of my favorite things to talk about. And I always ask, you know, when I work with an athlete, what's your frequency? And most people Go. I don't know what that means, but soon they do. And Dave Meltzer is such a great guy. I just. The way I've come across him a couple times in life and then have been on his, you know, Instagram, he's always so much fun and so full of positive light.
So, yeah, I love. He just radiates beauty, is what it was.
Which is exciting for someone like myself. That it's like, you know, it's like, you know, if he can do it, I can do it.
Yeah, absolutely.
I want everybody to kind of get a little more familiar with your work and kind of how you got to this place in life or, you know, kind of, what's your origin story, kind of where how'd you get started? Like. Like, how did you even end up in this field?
Well, it's funny that you asked that question right this minute, because just this morning I had a talk with my godfather, Clifford Ray, who won a world championship with the Golden State Warriors. Now, he didn't get me my job, but he said, go talk to that person, then. That person, and then make a. Build a strong network. He told me that when I was 19 years old. And just this morning, I said, you know, we met through some lady who said, you should be my basketball coach before I went to college. And I said, who was that lady? He goes, oh, you know who that was? That was one of the Hunt brothers wives. And so I guess this family owns the Kansas City Chiefs. I just find out, like, literally.
I found my way to working in the NBA and being a mental performance coach because of the Kansas City Chiefs owners. And it's such a small, big, huge world. Right? There's anything is possible. And I played college basketball. I loved it. When I was in high school, I was that weird athlete who always had my headphones on, which, back then, it was like a Walkman, which means there was a chord.
Yeah.
Cassette tape. Yeah. So I would listen to, like, Roxanne. Roxanne before the game and other 80s rap. Whatever the best rap of the 80s was, it was usually vulgar. My parents couldn't know about it because that was when rap songs had hardly any cuss words.
It was horrible then, right? Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Like, right. One curse word made it, like, unlistenable. So I listened to music on the way to the games, and I would program myself because I had read this book, the Power of Positive Thinking. When I was 17, I told my English teacher about it, and she was so impressed. Mrs. Harris, one of my. You know, someone I think of all the time is this English teacher who encouraged me to read. And I was already, already a reader. But that book changed my whole mindset. Wow. What I think matters about what I'm going to do, what my life is going to be like, is based on how I'm thinking. It was this huge, incredible concept, but it makes a lot of sense now.
Oh, totally. For sure. You know, you also have this new concept. Well, I call it a new concept. I think it's a concept that everyone should know about. And it's kind of one of the reasons I was excited to talk to you about, call this holistic player development piece. Right. I know it's transformative. I know it. I know it's helped people like Shaq and obviously all your work with NBA and all these different, all these different entities and stuff like that to kind of like get to that peak performance level.
How is that, how does it actually work? Like, what is the process that you kind of go through to kind of get them to that level?
Well, one of the things that I do that I think is really different and it's, you know, what's different from the average mental performance coach, not that any of us are average. Right. Is I use mind body medicine. So holistic. You know, for example, if I'm using something, if I go to a place that just looks at my elbow, they're not holistic. If they teach me to meditate to help me manage pain, that's holistic. So mental performance, if we just are talking to people and programming thoughts, then we're not holistic. And for me, mental performance kind of in and of itself should be holistic because it's going beyond what we see in the material world. So I'm blending mind body medicine, which includes things like epigenetic energy medicine. So not only are you going to be great and shoot free throws better, but you're going to release some of the trauma of your ancestors along the way, which will dilute and start to dissolve the habits we might have that are self sabotaging or things that we have that make us feel doubt about ourselves or our ability to be great. So for me, holistic means really mind and body connection, which helps athletes be really healthy, which is great. That's what athletes want. That's where the money is in health. Right. And I'm also connecting them on a spiritual level with things like meditation or understanding that they are more than just a physical body. Athletes really get told like, you're a body, that's what you are. And so I help Them see beyond that because, you know, once they're 32, no one cares about that body anymore. I mean, Braun, I guess, is a, you know, an anomaly, right? He's. I think he's. I read this morning that you know how many more minutes he's played than anyone for a guy like that, you know, this type of work really helps make your career go further and go longer. So if you're doing holistic stuff, your body's not going to wear down as fast.
Love it. Love it. Now let me ask you this. Does your holistic approach and the things that you're working with, you know, with quantum sports and things of that nature as well, does it help with the players that have identity struggles? Because obviously a lot of people are top performers. They're killing it, they're killing it, they're killing it, they're killing it. They get injured. Next thing you know, their career could have a slow decline, and then they're kind of out of the public eye. I know some of the people that I've worked with in the professional industry and the entertainment industry specifically, you know, once the movie dies down or once this. This recording career is not what it used to be, they. They lose all sense of identity. So does your process help with that trauma as well?
Yeah, it does. Mostly because I felt that myself when I lost my coaching job. I am like, who am I if I am not Coach Laura? Like, who can I be? Like, I am not important. And I had a huge breakdown, and I thought to myself, okay, that is what the athletes feel. So I always tell them, like, you are not your stats, you are not your wingspan or your free throw percentage. So. So it's a huge part of it. I also get guys while they're playing. I do work with some ex athletes, quite a few, actually. My goal, though, is while an athlete's playing, to start to understand that there's something beyond just who they are as an athlete. So that by the time they stop being an athlete, there's no dip. Because now, at the end of their career, my goal is that they recognize their whole self and really feel empowered beyond just their game. And they start to think during their play what they can do later. You know, whether it's, you know, philanthropy or just being the type of person they want to be. Because there's no reason to wait. Right. Like, we can always be cultivating, like, the best version of ourselves.
Absolutely. You know, some of these professional athletes, I know you've seen, You've seen it work with a lot of them. They go on. You know, they had amazing athletic careers, but then they go on to be profound. I mean, profound entrepreneurs, like owning and investing in multiple businesses and stuff like that. Gosh, the list goes on. Charles Barkley comes to mind for some reason. Derek Jeter comes to mind. Like, there's all these.
Hey, Rod, check.
Yeah, exactly. It's like, check, check, check. Right. You know what I'm saying? You know, So I love the fact that you're trying to position them in such a way that allows them to not just be more of who they are, but.
I guess come kind of be that person that can impact lives long after. Like, to see. To see the greater good. Right. Seek the impact over the income, and the income always follows kind of scenario. Right. That kind of concept. One of the things that I've heard you talk about when you're. When you're kind of breaking down this holistic medicine approach, especially as it comes to quantum sports medicine and things of that nature, is this concept called five bodies.
Yeah.
Now, I haven't seen a lot of people talk about that. In fact, when I was. When I was, you know, I was doing my. I was doing my thing as you do. Yeah, I got it. I got it.
No, I was. I was kind of dumbfounded. Like, it seems like until somebody summarizes something, that you can actually take action on it. Right. It's like, it's just kind of out of sight, out of mind. However, as soon as somebody distills you, you're like, oh, my gosh, that's totally a truth.
Totally. Obviously. Right, Obvi.
Yeah. So break down the five bodies for us, if you don't mind.
Oh, you're like, making me so excited right now. All right. Because some people just don't want to hear about it, and all I want to do is talk about it. So we have a physical body and then an emotional body, and then we have a mental body, and then what's called the supramental body. S U P R A meaning beyond the mental, beyond all the others. And then right after that, we have what's called sometimes the bliss body, but I call it the cosmic body. It's like the connection to all beings. So these aren't bodies, obviously, that, like, one's over there, one's over here. It's just all of us in one. There's a state of oneness. And it's like you could fit each body into the next as a sheath would fit over a sword. And so you're not going to notice the difference except that we actually hold things in different parts of our body. So let's say an athlete has an injury, a shoulder injury, and they do a lot of physical therapy, but it's not getting better. Well, that's because the physical therapist didn't probably look into the emotional body and the mental body, which is where I. That's my specialty. And further, what if the physical therapist could learn to access the supramental body, which is a part of us that says, hey, you're okay, everything's fine. That stress you feel, it's not really real. It's a perception. And so the reason the five bodies are important is because we can use them for healing. And healing can happen in a downward causation. So all I mean by that is downward causation. The physical body is the most dense. The cosmic body is the most light. So we start the cosmic body and heal downward by healing through more of a spiritual aspect. It's not even really necessarily spiritual. I would say the word consciousness makes more sense, like self awareness. Like the awareness is the gift.
Right.
So downward causation, healing means that the physical body, that's dense, lower body can be in touch with. Because we, in quantum medicine, we can connect these bodies. Right. Easy. And then it really actually is easy. So the physical body gets to look at the cosmic body and go, whoa, look at that. I just saw beyond myself. And once I saw it kind of like these aha. Moments we have. Oh, wow. I just realized why I'm like that. It's just like that for the body, the shoulders. Like, I just realized that I've been holding fear and. And stress in my emotional body. Let me let that go. And now the physical shoulder can get better really quickly. So when I'm working with an athlete, I'm using all five bodies. So, you know, acupuncture, psychology, and you know, most medicines work only at the physical or emotional or mental level. But when you start stepping into things like the work I do, bio, metaphysical alignment, now you're accessing the supramental body, which is the key. Like we're literally unlocking the key to. To people being healthier and feeling better and dealing with stress better.
Absolutely. You know, it's interesting you say that because the image that pops in my mind, you said a sword with a sheep. But what popped in my mind was the. Remember the old Russian dolls where the doll hops into the next doll and.
It'S like, you know, yeah, my son was in Russia. I got tons of dolls.
Okay, well, that's kind of what I was thinking, like, it's like, okay, so, but the other epiphany or the other thought that I had based on what you were saying was sometimes it's the amount of focus that you're putting. So if you're putting all your focus on the physical body, then you're not going to be in tune with the other five bodies or four bodies, we should say.
Which is, I think it's held true in my life. You know, I've been through a variety of various traumatic experiences. And you know, if as a person of faith, as a whole, one of the things that we're always talking about is generational bondage and generational curses and stuff like that. And then I begot into the study of alpha data, alpha beta, delta, like all these different ways, Right?
Yeah. You know, so, you know, you begin to understand that so much of being held back or so much of struggle, so much of limitations, so much of past traumatic events, so much of identity, so much like so much is tied to, if you will, really where you're focusing at. Right. If you're focused on the self awareness, you're focused on the conscious, you're focused on mindful behaviors, just being mindful of a room you're breathing and things of that nature, it causes a higher level of sensation in my life. And I can tell you that I went on probably a five year journey merging kind of some of the things we're talking about today and even my own faith journey. And I'm like, okay, now I understand why I'm sitting in the chair that I'm sitting in now and why certain things don't affect me the way they used to and why it seems like I'm getting all these beautiful opportunities to, you know, become a better person, but also impact more lives on a regular basis.
Yeah.
You know, and I just totally agree. That's why I was like so excited to talk to you. Because I think there's so many different people who just don't understand the area of focus is actually what's dictating the area of pain or pleasure. Right. Or progress completely.
Like, what do people like I always say? What is the first thing you say to yourself in the morning? Because the first thing I say to myself in the morning is today is the most magnificent day of our lives. And I will text that to a few people because I want to share the love. And there is a big difference between saying that to ourselves in the morning or oh, wow, I got to get up. And so I think I have Constant reminders in my phone. I have been doing this for 10 years since, remember, back in the day we had palm pilots, they would flip it open and write notes. So since palm pilots, which is the first time you could actually use a little thing to write onto, like to type notes into a phone, right? Since that came out, I've been putting notes to myself to remind myself. So I might be in a moment of catching myself thinking things. You know, how we have these conversations in our heads. I'll have a conversation going on in my head, and a note will pop up on my phone that says, today is beauty. What beauty can you see? Oh, okay. So I constantly remind myself, because I feel like I'm one of the worst people at dropping into the negative. But I've trained myself not to be that anymore. Like, I really, you know, worked hard, you know, on this inner game, because that's the most important one of all.
Right? For sure. You know, it's funny, you know, you were taught. You were kind of talking about the cosmic body, so to speak. What popped in my mind there is I. You know, I've had this practice of mine, especially people who struggle with isolation or being alone or intentionally sabotaging to be alone, this causation. I had this. In fact, I had this one. One couple reach out to me out of South Africa, and they were like, you know, I just don't feel motivated to be around people. People kind of intimidate me, kind of scare me. You know, I've had all this. Different experiences. Well, okay. I said, well, do you realize that you can pick up on other people's being, so to speak? That's how I refer to as being. Right? Yeah. And they were like, well, what do you mean? I said, go into a room with all the lights shut off by yourself, right? And you will be able to tell and sense that no one is in the room with you. Conversely, if you have a room full of people, they're totally silent, totally quiet, and you can't see a thing, you'll still be able to sense that they're in the room, which means they're picking up on essentially their energy. And one of the things I discovered on my own journey was so early on, the very things that I wanted most out of my life, I was preventing because of the energy that I was putting off. And the energy that I was putting off was dictated by how I woke up in the morning. Just like you were just saying, you know, like, now I have that, so I have my routine is. Or ritual. If you Want to call it whatever you're going to call it is my lot. Before my alarm even goes off, my body now wakes me up between 5:30 and 5:45. Like, I have to force myself to sleep in on Saturdays. Right. As not to wake up my wife because she likes to sleep on Saturdays. Right. In that moment, yeah. I mean, in that moment, I'm trying to take conscious documentation some of the dreams that I'm. That maybe I had that night because I found that many of my dreams have been prophetic in nature kind of scenario like I see before they happen strategies and, you know, exciting stuff to me anyway. And then I go into a process of just being grateful, you know, thanking. Thanking, you know, the God that I believe in for a better day. And, you know, and kind of, you know, setting up the, okay, today's going to be amazing day. I know I'm going to get a lot done. And I have found that every time I have not done that, every time I have gotten away from my routine, that's the day that it seems like that I have a repetitive Monday all throughout the course of the week.
Right, right. You could measure on a scale and probably see the difference. Right?
Yeah. And then I realized, well, you know what I'm telling myself I'm going to have a repetitive Monday over and over again. So what I'm doing is I'm setting the expectation, but I'm going to have a terrible Monday day after day after day. So what I was telling this young couple was, let's do something different. Why don't you just upon yourself, you can go individually, go together or whatever, grab a computer, grab a notepad, grab your earbuds and go to a local Starbucks or something like that. Now, this is obviously pre. Covid, right?
Yeah.
Go to an environment and just put your earbuds in and journal. Do something physically. And what will happen is you will sense a lot of the pleasure and a lot of the happiness, a lot of the joy in the conversations by other people. And you don't physically have to engage until you've kind of begun to break down that wall of isolation. And that allows you to kind of move forward. All of that's built off energy.
Yeah, energy is everything.
I mean, call it spirit, call it soul, whatever. You. You exude it. Right. It's inside the blood vessels. It's in. It's inside the. All the neurons that are firing back and forth. It's. It's kind of. It's outside of your will. You know, you have kind of will. Well, this is spirit. This is the other side. What you refer to as the kind of the cosmic consciousness kind of thing.
Yeah, yeah, it's going to be there. You know, one thing that's interesting, I love that about the Starbucks. And also it makes me reminisce about all the incredible creativity that I've done at a Starbucks. You know, just sitting there with people around me.
Right.
One thing that I think adds to this that you're talking about is because your cells are listening. And every day we get about 500 million new cells. And they don't come from outside, they come from within our body. But what are you telling yourself as those cells show up? Because that means you get about a dozen or about 3 or 4 billion cells a week and about a dozen billion new cells every month. So right around that point, we're getting close to that tipping point. So that's why I think this is my philosophy, right? That habits take 21 to 30 something days to form because all the new cells now have like, hey, dude, actually we're happy. So if you're going to show up sad, don't bother. Or the great new happy cells show up. Like if you're at a party and everyone's cranky and like the party has 10 people and 10 new people show up and they're all happy and dancing around, the cranky ones are either going to leave or they'll get happy and start dancing. Right. I mean, or they might start a fight. But let's say 20 happy people show up and there's 10 cranky ones. Now they've outnumbered them. So you want to be telling yourself something every morning so your cells can outnumber the old junk and that way you could be healthier. I mean, I even believe that's how you get wealthier and your relationships will be so much better, including with yourself. Right.
I love that. In fact, I love that analogy. I'll tell you why. Because if you have these sales that are like, you know, they're kind of, they have this massive sale, like, let's assume that your sales are used to being in fights. Like they're the gangsters, right? Right. They're used to running, running things. Right. Well, all of a sudden then you bring in the entrepreneurs and you bring in the spiritual advisors. You bring all these different energies in. Right now there's a little war, right. That little war is what I like to refer to as breakthrough.
Yes.
On the other side of that war is the breakthrough that. Is that what you were just talking about? Where those sales Those new sales are now outnumbering the older sales. Yeah, Right. And that's how I think. You know, people always ask, well, how do you change your mindset? How do you do this? How do you do that? Yeah.
It's easy.
One day at a time.
Yeah.
But you got to put these routines in a practice. Yeah.
It's funny because I always, you know, I tell people that, like, no matter how upset or depressed you get, the human being is meant to be resilient and to recover. So. And all you have to really do is if you just. You can even listen to a recording, you don't have the wherewithal. If someone's at the depths of their dark moment and they're really depressed and they don't know how to get out of it, that's okay. You don't have to know how to get out of it. All you have to do is say one positive thing every morning. Even if you just read it because you don't want to say it. And if you don't want to read it because you're too depressed, you don't give a darn or a damn, then put it somewhere where you'll see it so that you have to read it. And like, within 30 days, your cells are a little bit better. And then from there you have, like, some. Some ground that you can dig into and push against. So it's. I always feel like, guys, it's easy to get out of depression. It's painful, but it can be easy because you just start with one little tiny habit. Because you're worth it on some level, you know, the deepest level of your soul, that you're worth it. And that's where that one little message can change everything.
Yeah. I mean, when David and I were talking, one of the things we got we just kind of parked on for a minute is what I refer to as the four needs. To be seen to be heard, to be valued, to be appreciated.
Yeah.
And I find that all of us are craving those things, but we don't realize how much of that can come from the inside out rather than the outside in. Yeah. And that. Which is why I love what. What you've been doing and how you position hold this holistic approach and using quantum medicine and all this kind of stuff is because I think. I think there's a seat at the table for everyone. I think there's a state of table of all different knowledges and wisdoms and perspectives in such a way that you can put everything together to get the healing benefits of Meditation of prayer, of mindfulness. Right. You can, you can put things into practice. And one of the things that I've, that I've discovered that keeps most people stuck is the simple fact they just refuse to take a step. Yeah, right. I don't know. I don't know how it's going to work out. I don't know what direction I'm going. I don't know who, you know, how it's going to impact. Me.
Yeah.
I mean I'm just do it. You just take one step. Yeah.
And if you don't want to do anything, then do nothing. Because doing nothing also helps you heal. Like, it's like just sit down and set a timer for 30 seconds and don't do anything, close your eyes and breathe. Like it's actually as simple as either one of those. So there's no real excuse once we know, once we have this idea not to be great, not to get better every single day.
Yeah. So the, you know, so the first thing that I think about when it comes down to all this is this sense of, you know, we live our lives in a set of extremes. We're trying to, we're trying to find balance and peace and harmony, but yet we don't actually focus on balance, peace and harmony. We're focused on everything we're losing or everything that's going wrong or, or we're focusing on everything that's going so awesome that we're ignoring, you know, potential blind spots. You know, when I think the other concept that I wanted to pick your brain on a little bit, I guess pick your brain. I know you're.
Questions. Right. Is this sense of intuition. Right. The intelligence behind intuition. I find that anytime I go against my intuition it costs me relationships or resources.
Yeah.
How can we become more in tune with this intuition side of ourselves?
Yeah, I mean, I feel like I operate most of my life on intuition. I've shifted out of the mind into my intuitive side sense. I mean I teach classes on it. But really if we really break it down, intuition is about learning to get into the alpha mind state. So you want to slow your brainwaves down. So one way to get more intuitive is of course to get a body mind healing session where you can get rid of some. Because a lot of our blocks are in our belief systems and our perceptions, in our self doubt and the mass we've accumulated over a lifetime. But meditation actually helps us be more intuitive because it allows us to take our brain from the beta state of waking stress state through alpha into theta. So Theta is like a light sleep, but not really, so we can learn to get our brainwaves there. It's easier to be in that state of beta and theta, and that's where we're really intuitive. So once I started meditating, I mean, I was intuitive before I ever started meditating, so I had an early gift. But we all actually have the gift of intuition. Like, it's literally something we all have. It's a muscle. So some of us have great hamstrings, some of us don't. Some of us work on our hamstrings, and some don't. So the more you work on your intuition muscle and build it and learn how to trust it, the better it's going to be for you. So it is possible to build your intuition. And, like, the main thing, like I said, if you can do a little bit of breathwork and meditation, and I think prayer is important, too. Like, I can always be asking, you know, to be more aligned with my intuitive sense, with inner voice that I can hear that I might not listen to. And I'm the same way. You know, the worst things that have happened when I didn't follow my intuition, but then some of the best things that have happened for me in my life was when I did follow intuition, like, the meeting, because I had a perfect time to thing. And, like, one day I met Malcolm Gladwell, my favorite author, because I said, today, I will live from intuition. And everything I did, I checked in to make sure it felt right. And I literally ended up walking down the street corner in New York City, of all places, and he and I are about to cross the corner at the same time. I never met him. I didn't even know he was in Tribeca. And literally, I got to walk with the guy for a couple of blocks and talk to him, because I followed my intuition that day. It was like, all intuition. And I would listen. I was going and zigzagging around the blocks and things. It was very odd. I was like, I have to really trust myself to be doing this weird pattern of walking. And then when I saw Malcolm Gladwell, I knew I could always trust my intuition.
I love it. I love it. You know, one of the things that popped in my head a little bit while you were trying to share that story is this sense of there's a. Some of us are so focused on. I don't even know how to pronounce, say this the right way. We're focused on ourselves based on ambition alone, not focused on ourselves based on awareness alone. Or, like, Being in the moment. Right. And I say that because one of the things that I've kind of discovered along the way is when we put ourselves in a position to be at service or to be mindful or prayerful or meditative towards other people on their behalf, it's almost like we get a supercharged for a few minutes in our own state, we get elevated. So, which is why I think people that are the most powerfully positioned to.
Help people, as Rory Vaden would say, the most powerful position you have is serving the person. Used to be. It's kind of like putting all that together. And the way in which I've been able to get there is through more this mindfulness practice, like intentionally going from my selfless, My selfishness, meaning I want to please. I want these things. I want to do these things in my life. I want this to be in my life. I want to have. I want to attract all of this stuff. How can I be a blessing? How can I be of service? How can I help? Man, I see my wife, who has a physical illness that she's been battling chronically for a good bit pretty much all of her life, right? How can I be of service to her? How can I? How can I? And I'm finding that more. I'm doing more of an outward cast, the more inward fulfillment I'm actually getting.
Yeah, totally true.
So how does that play into kind of what you teach and how things kind of shape up in your world?
Yeah. One of the analogies I like to use, I have two, my two favorite analogies. So one of them is that I feel like I'm a saxophone, right? So if I'm going to be doing healing work, I'm a saxophone. Now, a saxophone does not blow air through into itself. It allows the air to move through it. And then what happens on the other end? Beautiful sounds, right? So when I'm doing healing work, it's like nothing comes from me. Same with an athlete. I'm like, guys, let the game be played through you. And my son's a professional ballet dancer in Russia, so he and his girlfriend and I have spent a lot of time discussing how you can be a beautiful dancer because you let the dance dance through you. The dance doesn't come from your arm, it comes through you. And now you lift when your arm is lifted. So for me, the idea of giving and sharing is I'm just an instrument. I can share when I open myself up to source, and I allow that energy to move through me so that what I give on the Other end is beautiful music. If I try to blow my own saxophone, it's going to sound like a cacophony and it's going to be awful. Not going to get much. And the other thing I always. The other analogy I use for athletes is like, it's like a reverse prism. So it's like this. All the experiences that you have and all of the spectrums and the different personalities and the energies that you embody, bring all of those into the prism. Like, the reverse prism is the color goes out, but let all the color jump into the prism and let it go out. The other end is this focus beam of white light. And that white light, you know, is unconditional love. It's a 432Hz light. So there's music you can find on YouTube and just listen to that. And that's what our goal, I think, is. At least, you know, for me as a human, I want to be giving out the light and sharing. And that's where, you know, the Dave Meltzer's of the world and the Michael Beckwith and all those people have shared that with me from a young age. And now I get to step into that space myself.
Yeah, but after you put it in practice.
Exactly. You got to do it first. You can't just know it for a week and then be teaching it, you know?
Sure. You know, I love how the. I love how all this is, like, uniquely. Forgive me for closing my eyes. I don't know why I did that.
Yeah, yeah. Right? Knit it together, right? Each of these different facets are knitted together, right? Each of these pieces have a place. Each of these pieces take practice. Each of these pieces are there to move you forward and not hold you back. And I find that when we refuse to use these pieces in connection, that's when everything feels like it's falling apart. That's when unfulfillment begins to shape. And that's when the. My wife said this one time and freaked me out a little bit because I wasn't. I wasn't used to her vernacular at the time. She said, oh, stay away from that person. I'm like, why? Darkness is all around them. I'm like, what are you talking about? She's like, no, the color around them is just crazy dark. I'm like, you can see colors? She's like, well, yeah. I mean, there's. Everybody has a sense field. And I'm like, oh, yeah? What color am I? What does that mean?
What color were you?
Yeah, I was blue. According to her, she's oh, that's a good color.
That's a good aura.
So anyway, so. But I had never been, you know, I'd never even had that experience. And then I went to my grandfather who was definitely more of a, you know, straight up hardcore Christian faith kind of thing. And I began to share that with him. He's, oh, yeah, that's totally true. I'm like, huh? I totally thought you were going to shoot me down. Soul is like, it's. You emit soul. Your being is tied to your soul.
Yeah.
Your soul is unique. It's divine.
It's not designed to be hardcore locked inside of a shell. It exudes from you. I'm like, well, how come people ain't talking about this stuff?
Change the channel. And they are.
Yeah. I mean, I've loved this whole theology and I love what it. Like I said, it's. It's a merger of all of what I refer to as all of truth when using truth to your benefit. Not as. Not in a selfless, selfish way, but more a selfless way so you can be that radiant light. My grandfather, my wife told me his. I said, what's this color? Well, it varies between white and silver. I'm like, white and silver? She's. Yeah, it's like, that's like top of the wrong, buddy. Well, alrighty then. Apparently I need to read another book, so.
Unconditional Love Vibration.
Yeah, exactly. Well, speaking of books, like, I don't hope it's not too early, but I know you got a. You got a new release. It's sure to be a bestseller. I can't wait for it to come out.
No pressure.
I think it's January, right? I think it's January if I'm, if I release date correctly. But talk to me a little about meta athlete. What made you write it? Why is right now the time for your voice to be heard by other people? Like, tell me where it came from.
Well, before I got started working in the NBA directly, I realized that I was like, I think I can tell this. I think I have good stuff, but I want to try on a bigger stage. And so with the athletes I've been working with, it's like, oh, it is the same. It works. And I wrote a book a few years ago called the Cosmic Athlete. It went over people's heads. I mean, it's still. I really love it. You'd probably like it. But the average guy who wants to get better, the average woman who wants to be better athlete, it's not necessarily for them. It's really for. For seekers. So I'm making one that's like, boom, Here are the 12 things, like 12 keys to elite performance. So it'll be, you know, for corporate athletes, but for pro athletes or high school athletes or any level of athlete. And I, you know, I feel like I've had the benefit of reading, you know, a few thousand books, listening to tons of podcasts and youtubes and I pull it all together and I'm making sure people understand how they can be empowered to be an elite performer. Like with real simple, like 12 ways to do it. The cosmic athlete was like kind of out there. It talked about the five bodies. It's a great book. I love it. However, I need to make something more practical. I get reigned in a little bit, you know.
Well, what I've learned is if as an author, myself and stuff like that, one of the things that we've got to do is we've got to take what seems natural and easy to us. We've got to break it down into clarity steps.
Yeah.
That's one of the things I'm most excited about, Meta Athlete is the fact that there is broken down steps. There is a. It's kind of a how to. Yes. It's for. Yes, there's a lot of athlete vernacular and stuff like that. But more importantly, it's for anybody who's seeking peak performance.
Yes.
I think, which means to me, anybody and everybody should be seeking peak performance in their life so they can make the impact that they're created to make themselves. Regardless if you're going to be the most amazing parent at home. Right. And that's. And that's. And that's your calling. That's your thing. Hello. You are raising new leaders.
Yes.
Pretty stinking important, right?
Yeah. Why not know this stuff to share with them? Right? It's so true.
So what can we expect from the. What can we. What can we expect from the book? Like if I was to, you know, grab my early release copy, which I'm still working on. Thanks, Bo. Just kidding, Bo.
Right.
If I was going to do that, like, what can readers expect from the new book?
I think a reader can expect to be taken on a journey that will include transformation, but they'll also learn some really practical tools. But for me, I hope people will read it and say me before I read this book and after this book. So there are a few books like that in my life and I hope this will be one that's like that for people who would like to really explore the depths of their greatness because every one of us is meant to be great at something. And there's a level of excellence that we. We may or may not have reached. And I believe this book will help people get to that level of excellence.
I love it. I love it. It's clear you're a deep wealth of knowledge. And we could probably talk for days and even weeks on all kinds of concepts. I tried to make sure. I was like, I've got to cover. I want him. I want to hear her thoughts on intuition. I want to hear her thoughts on the five bodies. I want to hear our thoughts on the four messages. Like, I need more time. I need more time. Right.
I love all of it. Like, you know, it's just. It's. It feels like I get to swim in a really deep ocean and every day has got something new that I have to learn about.
You know, I mean, look, the reality is, is you. You have. You. You've inspired me today. You know, I love the thought process. I think one of the things that you are doing, one of the things that made it more difficult for me to understand some of the quantum behaviors and thought processes and systems is. Is I felt like it was too far up here. I felt like it was way too far above my head. And I didn't fully understand it for a long time. And, you know, it took time for me to understand certain concepts of it and understand that was okay for me to understand it.
Yeah.
I wasn't, like, doing anything wrong by understanding it. Right.
And now you're a quantum Stephen.
A quantum Stephen. There we go. You know, I did hair grow back, though. I'm still trying to figure that part out. Actually. Hair grows in peninsulas if I grow it out. But anyway.
Oh, my gosh. So where will people be able to find the book when it releases?
Lauramyle.com and I'm sure it'll be on Amazon and those kinds of places, so. But my website, to me, is always the best place to go just because I like to give away free stuff when I can. And that's where I have my intuition superpowers class listed. But lauramwild.com and I've just really enjoyed talking to you today. So you inspired me. You remind me of the things that I remind myself about. But sometimes it's easier to hear from someone else. So if that makes sense.
That's so awesome. Thank you so much. I have enjoyed it. I love hanging out with you. We got to do it again. We. We gotta talk to our peoples and make sure we all connect this again.
Yeah, have your people call my people and then we'll be back on again.
Well, awesome, awesome, awesome. Well, look, I've enjoyed having you. I can't wait to have you back and have a great rest of your day and amazing time and go help some folks.
Thank you so much. I appreciate you. And yes, I will. Thank you so much.
Awesome. Well, take care. See ya. See ya, guys. I hope you enjoyed that interview. Laura's amazing. If you really liked that interview, check out this one right here. It's going to go a long way and help you on your journey. Take care. What I really came to believe was that if you are looking to get better at leadership, sure, there are certain things you need to do, but in the end, it is to empower you to learn.
