A short conversational YouTube video where Steve D Valentine and another speaker discuss prioritizing collaboration over cutthroat competition within the real estate brokerage community. They emphasize mutual promotion—sharing colleagues' listings—and give a concrete workflow: creating a shared Dropbox/media folder and tagging posts within the brokerage so a single property is broadcast to many audiences via participating agents.
My closest friends own brokerages, right? We don't talk about real. They know it's there. If they want conversations, great. Otherwise, I don't care. And we are constantly sharing at our lunches, at our meetings, when we're speaking, what are we all doing? Because it all makes a difference.
It all makes a difference. And you can do it without being in competition, knowing that one of you needs to Crush the other three.
No, 100%.
You don't have that attitude at all.
And I think that that's where I think the fun part that I'm having right now is showing people how important that is. So when any of them post something like a house or new listing, guess sharing it, right? Check out my guy, right? Or hit me up, I'll connect you. Same thing, collaboration wise, which actually really fascinating. I called Blake and I said, hey, you guys are doing some really cool stuff on your media and sharing and exposure. I'm like, explain to me how you're doing that on the luxury side. He said, it's really simple. He says, we create a Dropbox that has all the media folder for that property and all of our posts are tagged in the brokerage so that all the agents can share. So when a property goes out and everybody's tagged, it's not only shared on mine, it's shared in front of 75 other audiences and wherever they take it.
