Steve explains how private jet travel works for busy executives. A businessman can visit up to five cities in one day. US private jets skip security, but European airports often require screening. Most airports allow landings anytime, though some have nighttime curfews.
Steve, how many cities could a businessman travel in a single day?
Well, it depends how many miles are between cities and how long the meetings are, but you probably could get up to 5 cities in one day.
Do you have to go through security and metal detectors on your private jet?
Normally in the United States you don't, but a lot of places in Europe you do if the airport also facilitates commercial airline travel at the same airport.
Can you land a private jet any hour of the day or night?
In most airports you can. There are some airports that restrict the hours, there's a curfew, but for the most part you can.
If a businessman gets a phone call saying they need to change their route mid-flight, can they do it?
Absolutely. The pilot just needs to change his flight plan with the air traffic control system, and that might take a few minutes, but they could definitely do this.
