The first time I ever went viral was last year. It was 2023. And I did a video where I basically talked about how I can tell when your logo is made in Canva. And I had a lot of people comment on that, saying that I was being rude, I was being judgy, and that there are some people who can't afford professional design services. And I remember just being like, yeah, I hear you. Some people can't afford professional designers. Like, sorry. Then I went on to go viral several more times doing Canva redesign videos, and I got the same argument in every single comment that was like, well, what are people supposed to do if they can't afford a professional designer? And canvas their only option. And while there are options, you could hire a lower cost diner, but the odds of you getting good design for the price you would get of a Canva subscription, even lower. And most of those people are taking Canva logos that you would have gotten for free, putting your name in them that you could have done in five seconds, and charging you for it. As a business owner, this is a gap I noticed. And we are trained to see gaps in our marketplace, see how we can fill them. So I started wondering, like, what is it that I could do if people think Canva is their only option?
