A short YouTube clip by Christina Hall advising creators not to design logos or brand elements based on personal taste (e.g., picking a Canva template you think is cute) but to design for their target audience. She calls designing for yourself "lazy," challenges viewers to do the work of identifying and speaking to their audience, and briefly promotes her Magnetic Brand membership as the place that teaches these skills.

I just want you to know that when you went into Canva and were like, I'm gonna get a logo, and you typed insert business niche here, logo, and it came up with logos, and we're like, this one's cute. And you put your name in it. You just designed a logo that is attractive to you.
Not your target audience. Oh, and before you're like, but my target audience is me, babe. No, it's not. That is lazy. And it's a cop out for actually figuring out who your target audience is, really is, and what they really want to hear from you and see from you. And if you don't like what I'm saying right now, I would ask yourself why? Is it because you don't want to do the work? Is it because you don't like the way I said it? Is it because you don't like what I'm saying? Could it be because I'm right and you don't want me to be? Doesn't matter if you want to find out who your target audience really is, how to speak to them, and how to show them that you're different, which is what makes people go to you versus everyone else. That is everything that is currently covered in my magnetic brand membership, and we continue to cover.
