Christina Hall (speaker) diagnoses why business owners attract disrespectful, nitpicky clients: overly broad 'please everyone' targeting (e.g., "women 25 to 45 who live in Georgia") and a lack of competitor and target-audience research. She prescribes a simple corrective: do specific target-audience work so you can present your existing offers in a way that resonates uniquely, attracting clients who listen, respect you, and pay your worth.

Your clients don't respect you as the professional in the room. They're nitpicking your work and they're having a power struggle with you because you attracted people who act like that. I'm going to tell you what to do to get clients who actually respect you for what you do, let you do your work and listen to you, and also, most importantly, pay you what you're worth because they think you're worth it. But first, I'm going to tell you why you're attracting the wrong people. You are too busy trying to please the masses. You have not done any target audience work beyond women 25 to 45 who live in Georgia. You don't know anything about what they think, what they desire, what really lights them up on the inside. And you're also doing nothing to speak to that because you don't know any of it. You haven't done any of the competitor research or the target audience research to understand what it is you should really be offering them. And I don't mean changing your offers. By mean offering your offers in the way they specifically don't even know they need it yet, but is different from everyone else. And it's not as hard as it sounds. It really isn't. It's one small tweak. And it's simply understanding your target audience. And that is how you attract.
