Short clip from a Christina Hall YouTube video about branding and marketing. Hall argues viral videos reach general consumers who form opinions from a consumer (not business) perspective; branding is designed to speak to consumers' subconscious and is more influential than consumers typically admit. She also notes budget constraints for some audiences and that different pricing/demographic strategies exist.

Okay, yes. And something that happens with these videos is they go viral and they get in front of people who are not business owners. They are consumers. And so they make opinions based on a consumer perspective. And while you are like, but wait, that is what businessers are supposed to do. They're supposed to think from a consumer's perspective. Consumers don't think with their subconscious. Branding is meant to speak to their subconscious. That is why there's an entire industry for determining what they want to hear from you, what they perceive from you, what you need to do in order to get them to perceive the right things from you. Even when they don't know they're perceiving the thing. Even when, if you ask them to their face, does this brand make you feel xyz? And they say, I don't care about the brand. I just care about how it works. Yeah, they fucking do. They care about the brand. They just don't know they care about the brand. And that's why branding is such a valuable thing. Next point I want to touch on. Not everyone has thousands of dollars to spend, okay? That is why we have people in different demographics. You can.
