Christina Hall critiques a generic real-estate logo and walks through redesigning it in Canva to make it distinctive. She avoids overused motifs (houses/keys), imports and traces an alternative house-like image, adds stylized highlights for dimension, and experiments with typefaces that feel approachable but original.

We know when a logo stands out and it captures our attention. This is not doing that. If every realtor has a freaking house or a key, then we're just telling everyone that real estate agents are interchangeable and there's nothing special about you. If you want to stand out, you have to look different. This is something that makes me think of a house in a home, but also is not a key or a roof. We're going to grab this image, put it in here, and I'm going to trace it. I've got the general shape, but I'm going to kind of try to make my own. The reason why I like this too, is because it's almost like, knock, knock, you're home. This new house I sold you. Cause I'm a Realtor. This is a bit too basic. I'm putting in some sort of stylized, like, highlights to help give this thing some dimension. I really like where we're going with this. So now we're gonna look up some typefaces because this is super boring. I'm gonna try to get something that's pretty basic, sort of Everyman, but a little bit more fun, a little bit more original. Okay. I'm kind of into this. It's a little thick for me, but we can work with it. This typeface is sort of giving me, like, golfing vibes.
