Ever since 2002, when we commenced operations, we continue to be the first technology MNC to set up operations in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Today we are the only technology company, be it Indian or MNC, to be a sizable operation in the city. Our talented engineers in Madurai are working on developing critical technologies for Indian and global customers such as safe landing systems for aircraft, security solutions for homes, high-end city surveillance, and critical infrastructure protection solutions. In fact, the abundance of great engineering talent was a key factor in us expanding our operations in Madurai. Honeywell Technology Solutions opened a new state-of-the-art facility in Madurai last year. In 2014 that was inaugurated by our global chairman and CEO. The excellent infrastructure support the Elkhart IT Park provides made Madurai an attractive destination for us to invest in, especially for the kind of high-end engineering work Honeywell does. Today our campus spreads across approximately 4.5 acres. And we plan to expand that further. We have a long-term plan, business plans for Madurai, and we are committed to our growth and to provide opportunities for our talented engineering folks in Madurai and nearby region. Our employees in Madurai have an inherent hunger to excel and create innovative solutions for the world And with this stems from the unique culture of the region. Tamil Nadu, and especially Madurai, has a rich culture and tradition of academic excellence. Our collaboration with the top-notch engineering colleges in the state caters to our talent needs, providing us with high-quality engineers.
