Escaping Identity Crisis: Finding My True Self

In this motivational self‑help video, Tameka Anderson (Fun Coach Tameka) uses a playful reference to the Lion King’s Rafiki to pose the central question, “Who are you?” She argues that lacking a clear sense of self allows others to define us based on their own perspectives. Drawing on a Pablo Picasso quote, she outlines a three‑step framework for self‑definition: (1) identify your innate, God‑given gifts that require no certification, (2) examine what makes you angry to uncover underlying triggers, and (3) decide concrete actions to address those triggers, specifically targeting family dysfunction as a root cause of many negative emotions. Tameka shares personal anecdotes about misusing her gift of oration before discovering her purpose, emphasizes that gifts are tools for contributing to the world, and calls viewers to reflect on their own gifts, anger sources, and corrective actions, ending with a prompt to comment on the question “Who are you?”

But then check this out. Remember when Rafiki commences after he asks him, who are you? He commences to tell Simba that Simba was a danggone baboon. That's a great lesson in life.
You've got trauma just like me. It's PTSD.
Hey y'all, Fun Coach Tameka here. Listen, remember on The Lion King when Rafiki Was something dishonest. Yeah, when Rafiki was doing all of that jazz and Simba was like, man, who are you? And Rafiki looked at him and said, no, the question is, who are you? So that's our question of the day: who are you? I'm not gonna say it like Rafiki, so who are you? But then check this out. Remember when Rafiki commences after he asks him, who are you? He commences to tell Simba that Simba was a dang on.
You make me so mad.
That's a great lesson in life. When you don't know who you are, people will define you in a way that reflects who they really are. So because we don't want to keep doing that, is it all right if today I tell you 3 ways that you can help define who you are For yourself. All right, let's get into it. So the quote of the day is Pablo Picasso says, "The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away." So the first step is to find your gift or gifts. God gives all of us at least one gift for the gifts. God gives each one of us at least one gift for the sole purpose of advancing the world, right? Our gifts are our contribution to the world. So let's talk about gifts. I'll share mine with you. One of my main gifts is oration.
Talk it like you walk it, man.
That's why I have a YouTube channel.
Don't talk to me like that.
And while you're listening to me right now, uh, thank you. The gift of speech is from God. Words are used to provide healing, comfort, encouragement, and strength. However, words can also be used to injure and destroy. You know, most of the trolls that be in the comment section, Little do they know, they actually may have the gift of oration, but they're using it to injure and destroy people. When you don't know who you are, you don't know your purpose, and you don't even like who you are, you will use your gift to injure and destroy other people. That's like I always say, like, people who manipulate They have the power to influence because that's all manipulation is, is influence. However, they use it to injure and destroy people because they don't like themselves. They don't know who they are. Um, and I remember, I remember vividly, honey, let me tell you something. Couldn't nobody read you like I could read you. Couldn't nobody cuss you out like I could. Now I'm not saying this because I'm proud of it. I'm just saying that before I really learned who I was and my purpose, I used my gift to injure and destroy other people because that's how I felt. First of all, in order for you to fulfill your purpose, you need to know the tools that you have in your toolbox to work with. And your gifts are your tools. Now, I used to be all over the place. When I say all over the place, all over the place. I have done some of everything because I was all over the place. And so now I understand that the gifts that I have, in addition to oration, are to help me facilitate Transformation of families to help them learn, grow, and heal. That is what it's for. Gifts are something that you didn't work for. Gift of oration was given to me. I didn't go to school for it. Gift of curricular development was given to me. I did not go to school for it. The gift of training was given to me. I did not go to school for it. Okay. So, um, writing down a list of your gifts, that's the first step. The second step is to ask yourself what makes you angry. Like, what really gets your goat? Like, when you think about— matter of fact, if you trolling somebody comments, what is it that makes you angry? Think about that. Like, what? Because if you are going to troll someone, if you're in the comments and you're saying something about the person that you're Listening to, there is some anger there. So you ask yourself, what is it that makes you angry? And so for me, what makes me angry is people who mishandle children. When you want to see baby, you want to see me angry, mishandle some kids around me, or let me find out that you're mishandling kids. So mishandling of children makes me angry. Injustice like racism, so stupid, makes me angry. Um, what else makes me angry that I could really, really think of? Oh, narcissism. Angry. And I'm gonna get into that, you know, later on. But all of those things that I just mentioned are a root of dysfunction. That's why they make me angry. It makes me angry. I had to really get to the bottom of everything that made me angry. I wrote it down, and the root of it is, uh, family dysfunction. It is. If you look at all of the things that are happening and you really dig down to the root of it, it is always because of family dysfunction. And there are extreme levels of family dysfunction, because a lot of people think that family dysfunction is just like Like, you know, uh, people on drugs, you know, people, people fist fighting. No, family dysfunction can be as simple as passing down unhealthy patterns from your parents. Finally, what do you want to do about it? You've written the list of things that makes you angry What do you want to do about it? I know for me, I want to eliminate family dysfunction because family dysfunction has destroyed my family. That is why I want to eliminate family dysfunction. Okay, you know the saying, it runs in the family? Well, it ran in the family until it ran into me because I was determined to say, yeah, I'm not, I'm not passing this crap down to my kids. We're not doing it. So recap, the 3 steps are: number one, what are your gifts that you don't have to get certifications for? You were naturally blessed with it. Number 2, what makes you angry? The thing that really gets you, that you're just like, oh. And then number 3, what do you want to do about it? Okay, so now that you the process of finding out who you are, drop a comment below and answer this question. Who are you?
