In this brief testimonial interview, host Tami Holladay speaks with client Laura Linville about her experience in the "Be You, Be Confident" group coaching program. Laura highlights several key takeaways: the value of a supportive group of women where members can bounce ideas off each other and feel understood; the realization that despite varied life stages—some with no children, some with young or older kids—participants share common transitions and can mutually support one another. She also notes a newfound awareness of her own valuable contributions to the group, countering feelings that her life isn’t interesting enough to share. Additionally, Laura reflects on how shared core values manifest differently across members’ professional (e.g., nonprofit work) and personal lives, offering her a broader perspective on applying those values. The conversation underscores the rarity and impact of consistent weekly encouragement, the shift from initial skepticism about group settings to genuine enjoyment, and the overall positive, empowering effect of the program.

Hi, Laura. Thank you for joining me.
Yes, of course. Thanks for having me, Tami.
Thought it would be fun to be able to have others hear your experience of the group coaching program that I have called Be You, Be Confident. I wanna just be able to see, have you share with others, what would you say is a big win, big takeaway that you've, that you can reflect on?
Yeah, I mean, I think my big takeaway is having that group of women that you can kind of bounce ideas off of, but then at the same time also be like, oh hey, I feel that same way, or I know what you're talking about. And just having that realization of like, I mean, you know it deep down that other people are feeling the same way you're feeling and like seeing different times in people's lives, 'cause everybody came from a different time in their life, right? Like some had no kids, some had little kids, some had older kids, right? And just realizing like we can all be there for each other because they're all very similar. It's all just transitions of life. Yeah. And so I think seeing that camaraderie between women was really, really cool because you don't get to experience that very often. And I think, and then also realizing like that you do have something of value to add to others' experiences was really cool to kind of realize, I guess, because sometimes you get kind of caught in your world and you're like, oh, I don't know, like my, my life is not that exciting or whatever. Right. And, but each one of us had experiences that we could share with each other to be like, Oh yeah, that totally makes sense. Or like, I have felt that way before too. And it didn't matter what backgrounds we came from. In the end, we just were such a great group of women cheering each other on for those weeks that I thought that was really, really cool. And seeing like that some of your same values are shared by other people as well and how they use those values to then do stuff in their life that you've never really thought about. That was kind of a profound thought for me because I do a lot with nonprofits and In my mind, I'm like, oh, I gotta volunteer my time, you know, and stuff like that. And then seeing some of those women be like, I enjoy doing that too, and this is how I do it in my job, or this is how I do it with my family. And it's like, oh, that's so cool to see how people use those values in different ways in their life.
It's a really cool insight. Because I've had some people say, well, I don't know if I'm a— if a group setting is right for me. And it, and it might not be. Sometimes we need that interaction with others. Just to kind of normalize life. Yes. And to learn from one another. And so—
Yes. And it's so rare to have a group that can cheer you on every single week that you can meet with, right? Like, it was so refreshing. I don't know, just having that support. I didn't know if I'd like the group setting because I do like, you know, talking with people one-on-one. But it was so much fun and it was fun to hear everybody. And it was— I really enjoyed it a lot.
I just am so glad that you did step into it and you took that risk. And that you were a part of the group. And, and so also thank you for just giving time here today. I really, really appreciate it. Of course.
