Hey there. Happy Friday, May 23rd. Hope you're doing well. I have a couple different cameras on different view here. I'm starting with tonight. Yeah. So I'm popping on a little bit late here. Just want to hit some sketching here before I wind down for the day. It's been a long day, kind of really tired my brain. I have a really tired brain all day today. So I want to just change state of being and do some sketching. Let's switch to the desktop view. By the way, I'm Jason here with the ink spired Life where I love sketching architecture, love sketching buildings, structures and the world around us one line at a time. Cool. Let's go to the desktop view. Boom, there we go. So what I thought I'd do tonight is I had started a sketch, this is a practice sketch of the Statue of Liberty torch I did last week. So I thought I'd just add some color to it tonight. So I have some watercolor here, some ink, and we'll just spend a few minutes throwing down some color tonight. Let me know where you're watching from. Say hello in the comments and I'll check in. So here is what I have out here that I'm sketching with tonight. So the Statue of Liberty sketch is on Fabriano 1264 watercolor paper. It's cold pressed, has a little bit of texture to it. This is a just a graphite pencil sketch, which I rarely do. So it'll be fun for me to see how throwing some watercolor and ink on top of that look. So that would be kind of fun. Kind of. I have a bamboo brush here and some water, of course, for watercolor and a couple of different inks. I just grabbed these quick, two different colors. Then have a Winsor Newton watercolor palette with some other paints. I think I have some cheap Joe paints mixed in here as well. So that is what we're sketching with tonight. All right, cool. I am just checking one thing over here. Right, I'm back. All right, let's throw down some color on this and have my pup behind me. She is visiting us tonight. She's back there. I don't know if you see her on the chair. There she is. There's Olivia hanging out. She's like, come on, dad, it's late. If you want to know what I'm listening to on the description, you'll see a link to the playlist. I'm listening to tonight on Spot. You'll notice that I'm actually. I actually have the Paper at an angle. I just love the effect of the water and the paint just dripping down the page. So for me, gravity is definitely a sketching friend. I mean, it's another tool that we can use. All right, let's dip into. Let's see. Yellow. It's pretty. It's a fairly small sheet of paper. It's 4 inches by 8 inches. I like the verticality of it. Now I'm just dipping into some orange. I need to. I need to get some. Get probably about 10 of these sketch paintings together for my visit to Central park in the next few weeks or so. Yeah, I'm gonna see if I can actually maybe sell some of these while I'm out in the park. That'd be kind of fun. Sometimes in life, we have to push ourselves for new challenges and try new things, step out of our comfort zone. And me trying to sell sketches in Central park is definitely out of my comfort zone 100%. So we'll see how it goes. This is a brown. Kind of brown pea. I don't remember what color this is. Let's see what it looks like. I don't remember what color that is. I like it, though. It. I'm gonna. I'm gonna bust out some of this. It's called Inferno Orange. It's a really beautiful ink color, I think even has some, like, metallic gold flecks. And I don't want to overdo it with that color. So that is. That's all I'm going to throw on there for now. It gives a really nice fiery orange. Well, that's why it's called Inferno Orange, I guess. Nice fiery orange to the. The torch. I also have this other ink. Let's try this one. It's called Railroad Worm. It's like a yellowish color. See what it looks like. I don't know if you can hear the kind of. The foam in there is, like, fizzling. It. So this is really fun. I'm just letting the ink run down and colors and just kind of mix together, and it's just trailing down the page. I'm actually going to let it do its thing and not mess with it too much. This Railroad Worm color looks to me like. I would call it yellow highlighter color. So it's very similar to a yellow highlighter. Cool. I think I'm going to leave it at that for now as well. I could. I can tell after this dries, I'll definitely come back with probably my Sharpie here, and I'll outline and pull out some of the shapes. They've gotten kind of lost a little bit with all the color, but that's okay. We could always come back in and just add some Sharpie to it or whatever you want to add to pull out the shapes. So that's not a problem. But I actually think I'm going to leave this alone for tonight and let it dry just like this. So before I go, I do want to show you one other thing here, quick. So I'll. I'll be on live tomorrow sketching at some point in time, I don't know when. Probably tomorrow night again. So I'm. I'll be sketching, I think, tomorrow night, something inspired by the Brooklyn Bridge. So tomorrow is the Brooklyn Bridges 142nd birthday. So it was built in 1883. May 24th, that's tomorrow. So I guess it'd be a great day just to break out some ink and do a little sketch of the Brooklyn Bridge. So here's a sketch I did last year when I was actually on site. I did a really quick sketch of it and here's another really super duper quick kind of capture of it as well. So, yeah. So stay tuned for tomorrow night. Probably around 9:00pm Eastern Time, I'll be back on and we'll do a Brooklyn Bridge inspired sketch, I think. Yeah, I think that sounds cool. All right, guys, this has been Jason from the Inkspired Life. Remember, you too can sketch and capture the world around you one line at a time. Keep using your creativity for positivity and until we sketch again. I will see you soon. Be good, be well, be safe.
