Hey, happy December 14th. Hope you're doing well out there. Um, right now it's like 4:57 PM in New Jersey. I'm doing a holiday-inspired scene here. No game plan, just kind of winging it, using some really funky colors. This is loosely inspired by the Christmas tree in Wall Street— or not in Wall Street, on Wall Street. So yeah, just keeping it fast and loose. You can see I'm using everything from watercolor to red paint. Pen to, of course, uh, Sharpie. So just adding layers and layers. I really like what's happening here with the tree. It's actually kind of cool, um, this kind of hard edge that's happening right in there. I think that's kind of a fun way to add texture— or not texture, but depth to what I'm trying to do, or interest. Are these the colors that are really there? Nope. No, not at all. These are just colors coming from my brain and just kind of grabbing and going. You can see my— what I have out here. Here's the red pen I've been using, Pilot Precise Pen. I love using this for red. This is my go-to, definitely, for red. Of course, I have my Sharpie, um, actually a graphite stick here as well, water-soluble graphite stick. If you look at this, it's kind of a rounded edge and and then I have a sharper edge. I just snapped the stick in half, and I like to sketch sometimes with the sharper edge to get these jaggedy lines. I'm just having a lot of fun. I'll be back finishing this up at some point, maybe later tonight. I just wanted to pop on just really quickly here, say hello, check in, um, check the stream, make sure it's working. There's an update on the computer. And with the streaming software. So just want to make sure everything's up and going because I need to be back on sketching more often. Excuse me. Cool. Yeah, so that's kind of just my setup here. It's that time of the year where I really need to start looking around my studio and clean up. It is a mess. Mess in here. So maybe I'll document the process of, uh, how do I approach reorganizing the studio for the new year. That might be kind of a fun, uh, fun stream to do. Let me zoom in so you can see some details how this is kind of looking and drying. So it's definitely going to be, uh, take some time to dry, and then I'll come back. I'll probably throw some colored pencil on here. Maybe a little bit more watercolor and whatever else grabs my fancy. I've been digging these Sharpie Creative Markers a lot, so maybe I'll break those out later and play with them as well. Um, yeah, I'm going to be putting together a best of 2024, best of creativity, art supply um, things that really have probably taken me to the next level, or things that have inspired me or have kept me going creatively and with my sketching. So I'll be working on that video tomorrow. All right, cool. All right, let's throw down a little bit more green. I'm gonna head out and I'll be back on— I'm gonna try to be back on later tonight. It might not be until about 10 PM Eastern Time. No promises. We have to see how the night goes and how tired I am or not tired. All right, so I'm throwing down another layer of green on here. I think this is like a sap green. Um, I kind of like— I like the way this tree is looking. I'm going to leave a lot of that kind of space happening there. All right, cool. So there you go. So this is just a beginning of this. I'll be back on working on it. If you like this video and you're on YouTube, please hit that like button. Let's get the word out there. I want— I'd love to get to 1,000 subscribers before the end of the year. I'm at 902, and that is so exciting. So happy. I appreciate you guys out there supporting, liking, um, the positive comments. Comments. It really, it really means a lot, so thank you so much. This will be fun actually when it dries. It'll be fun to come back and add some detail, probably like some Sharpie or, um, maybe a Pilot Precise Pen will add some detail and pull out some of these shapes. There are columns here, so I'm looking forward to doing that. Upcoming step. So I'm just taking yellow. This is like a lemon yellow. I always like to think of lemon yellow paint as like lemon when you're cooking. It adds a little bit of zest, kind of brightens things up, lifts things up a little bit. So I would like to— I like to put pops of this yellow this lemon yellow on here. And actually, this— maybe these are Christmas lights on the tree. So I'm just kind of— I don't want to overdo it, make it too literal, but maybe we've got some Christmas lights happening on the tree with that yellow. Hey, Judy Morgan's on chat! Judy says, gotta go back with most of your recommendations. Nowhere near share-worthy yet, but having a blast scribbling and watching and learning. Hey Judy, that is awesome! Wow, you have made my afternoon— there's an early evening. That is so cool. I love, love, love that. Um, just have fun. It's about having fun. I love that. Um, don't worry about sharing it. I'm more than happy to look at your artwork, give you feedback if you want to share. If not, no worries. Just enjoy, have fun with the process. And that is super exciting. Thank you so much. Wow, I really love that. Um, honestly, so I was, I was afraid to go on YouTube and share my artwork for a long time, and I started doing it, gosh, I mean, 5 years ago, 7 years ago, very slowly. It started on Facebook, actually. Um, there's that confidence thing, right? So I've learned, um, there's the comparison trap. I learned to not fall into the comparison trap. Just compare what I'm doing to myself. Am I getting better? Am I having more fun? Am I being creative? And not worry about what other people are doing so much. It's good to look at other work for inspiration, but not comparison. We're all different, different voices, different styles, different mediums, different techniques, different levels. So don't be afraid, just go for it. Awesome, you made my day! That's so cool. Uh, let's zoom in on this tree before I head out. And I'm gonna head out because it's getting close to dinner time and I gotta take my friendly pup outside. I'm going to zoom in so you can see how this is drying. I'm really liking what's happening with the tree here, and my intention was to come on, just be quick, loose, fun, not worrying about the colors. I actually— I'm liking the blue shadows here, kind of the blue windows with the Graphite stick in there, kind of those mixing together. What else we got going? Let's go, go up here a little bit. Um, I kind of like what's happening down here with the bottom of this tree. It's kind of cool. Now, my friends, is the magic of not only watercolor but just mixed media, kind of throwing things on top of things. Sometimes it gets a little crazy. I but I don't care. Just loving, loving, loving it. I definitely want to break out some of these creative markers, um, at some point. All right, thank you so much for watching. I appreciate it. Judy, thank you for commenting. Uh, I'm glad you're enjoying the journey, being fun. And you know what, I love that you use the word scribbling because I often say If you can scribble, you can sketch architecture, um, one line at a time. Thank you so much. I will try to be on later tonight, maybe 10 o'clock PM Eastern Time. No promises, see how the evening goes. Um, but thank you for watching. I appreciate you. Take care, and I'll be on soon. Hopefully I'll see you guys soon. Bye. Keep using your creativity for for positivity. See you guys soon. This is the part where I awkwardly wave until I can find the button to sign off. I found it, it's right there. Bye guys.
