Hey, Deborah Hope, all's well. Thanks for tuning in and watching. Looks great. Thanks, I'm glad you're liking it. Yeah, so I'm just working on this thing one step at a time, just having fun, and we'll see, we'll see how it goes. Not gonna say what it is yet. But anyway, hope you're having an awesome day. Hey, dear, good to see you. Hope all's well. Hope you're, um, keeping warm and safe. With all that snow in Alaska. So it's crazy. I hope you're doing well. Thanks for tuning in. I always love when you guys pop on. So I am on very late tonight, very tired, but I wanted to get my sketching in today. I didn't do any, so I wanted to pop on and just keep, keep going. So I hope you guys are doing awesome. Hopefully you can hear me, or maybe you would prefer not to hear me, which is good too. I'm used to that in school where some of the kids just tune me out. It's all good though. Hope you guys are doing great. Deborah says it looks like sci-fi. Um, yeah, it kind of does. It's, um sci-fi. It's kind of an industrial vibe I'm going for with this. But it's so cool that you said that. I can totally see what you're saying. It has a sci-fi kind of vibe. Good to be on here. We keep feeling earthquakes. Oh, along with the downpouring of snow. Oh, D-Ray, oh my gosh, I'm so— wow, that's just crazy. Earthquake tremors and all that snow. Holy cow, that stinks. Well, it's good to see you on. Hang in there. We're very, uh, very opposite here. And no, basically no snow in New Jersey this winter. I mean, we had a few. We had maybe an inch total all summer— all summer— all winter. Um, at this stage anyway. Yeah, I agree. Uh, some, something of the future. Wondering what year you will retire. Oh, what year I will retire? I'm not sure if you mean retire from teaching. So my intention while teaching was I wanted to put 10 years in. I'm 4 years into it, so I would have about 6 more years left of teaching, but that could change. That was my intention when I started 4 years ago, was I wanted to do 10 years. But we'll see. I really like it, and it might go longer, but right now I'm just going one day at a time. One day at a time. So I want to let this, uh, dry, this paint. I want to— I think the next layer I want to do is break out the pen, um, either my— probably my Sharpie, and I want to add some ink on top of this to pull out some of these shapes a little bit more. Here's my desktop. You guys can see what I have out here. This, of course, my Sharpie brush, a little watercolor kit, and I have some, uh, pens up here as well, and a lid that I'm using to mix. There's actually some copper acrylic ink in here that I was throwing down on on here before. There we go. Cool. Hey, Andrea's in here! Good to see you, Andrea. Hope all's well. Or Andrea. I know, I never see your name, I always do that. I know, uh, I know an Andrea and an Andrea. Um, so anyway, thank you. I'm so glad to see you. Thanks for tuning in. Um, D-Ray says, "No snow in New Jersey, 'cause we got it all." Yes, I'm so sorry in Alaska, you did get all of our snow. I mean, I wouldn't mind if we had a little bit. I could use at least one snow day from school. Uh, Happy I made your live event tonight, usually miss them. Hey, that's so cool! Um, thank you for watching the replays when you don't see me live. But I'm glad you caught me live. I am here. I did not do my hair. It's very late, as you guys can see. Got my glasses on, which means I have my contacts out. So I'm getting ready, getting close to bedtime. Um, yeah, one, one day at a time. QQQ, uh, when you use your Sharpie, do you ever add water to it before it dries? Um, no, Deborah, I have never tried that. We can— let's try it now. I've never added water to my Sharpie. Let's, let's give it a shot. I don't know what'll happen. Let's zoom in even tighter. So I'm trying to keep really just loose and sketchy look to what I'm creating here. Um, very, very loose shapes. So, and that's my intention with this. But let's, uh, let's go back to your question. Let's see what happens. Let's see, um, maybe we'll— let's throw some Sharpie. Let's actually do some maybe down here, see if I can bleed it. So maybe right in here. Hopefully you can do that. See that? I'm going to zoom in. I got some Sharpie going down. So I feel like— hopefully I got the water quick enough on the brush. I think— I don't— I think Sharpie pretty much is instant when it goes on. I gotta do it quick. I have a brush ready to go as soon as I throw this down. We'll add some water and see what happens. I'm using the other hand to even do it. Um. So I'm not— honestly, I'm not really getting— I'm not getting any bleeding from the Sharpie. So my feeling is that I think it just— once it goes down, it's down. So that was a really good question for sure. So, but if I do want black ink to bleed, that's, that's kind of why I use Sharpies. When I don't want the ink to bleed, the black, I'll use a Sharpie. And most of the times, like 90% of the times, I'll actually sketch with a Sharpie to start with. Um, that way in the future if I want to add water or bleed ink, I won't end up with a black muddy mess because a Sharpie won't bleed. So if I want the ink to bleed, I'll use my Lamy. Where's my black Lamy pen? Has anybody seen my Lamy? Hmm, oh, it might be in a bag. I think I brought it to school. So anyway, I would use like a black Lamy ink or some kind of black ink I can bleed. It's a really good question. But also the same thing, if the paper's wet, the Sharpie will not write on it. So it works that way also. So that's why I'm kind of waiting to add some of these sketch lines. Getting kind of— I could add some there, but let's actually want to add some blue on here. Uh, good question. Your work always inspires me to loosen up. I'm super tight with my line work. I'm so glad. I'm so glad. Um, I think a lot of it for me is I just want to be playful. Playful, and I'm not trying to recreate anything. Detail, just trying to capture a feeling, capture a spirit, capture an attitude, and be playful while I'm doing it. So that kind of helps me to keep, keep things loose. This one, actually, you might see me, I'm kind of not being quick with my lines. I'm kind of actually am sketching some lines a little slower because I have some fine lines like this one I'm going to do here. I'm just getting some some turquoise on here. And we're just— I kind of have it— you can see some pen lines here. I'm going to just do a— I want to do a something like that across there. Actually, do I want to go off the page? No, I think we'll leave it at that. Cool, glad you said that. Great, thank you. You are welcome. No bleeding, just moving what's already there. You got it. Where— oh, where is my Lammy? I— yeah, I don't know, I don't remember where it— my brain's just dead, just to be honest with you. It's— oh, here it is. Okay, so So I brought it to school one day, I put it in my pen here, pen case. I should take it out because I probably will be using it at some point. Ooh, this is cold. That's a cold pen. Let's put this over here. This is cool, I like the way this is looking. This will make more sense on the right when I start adding some pen lines on here. This is actually gonna be not quite a sphere, but a curved shape on the right with metal panels on it. Once I start adding some ink, I'll be able to pull that out better. Um, there's some other details in here I'll add with a pen as well. We'll do some cross-hatching. I'm just kind of thinking, I'm going to pull out— I'm going to pull out this edge here. Actually, let's use some LAMY. I haven't used it in a while. Let me make sure I can get it working here. Cool. I love, love me some Lamy here. Love this pen. Uh, that'll be Sharpie. Let's see. This is some kind of a pipe back in here. Kinda comes around, angles, heads down this way. So we got a pipe, where two pipes meet, we gotta connector piece there. So you see, just by adding some of the black ink, some of the shapes are starting to be pulled out, right? So you can kind of see this pipe happening here. And then I did add some black. This is actually a concrete, um, column, round column here. And I'll just add some ink around the edge. Just to pull it out a little bit. So maybe this is like, probably in here we got it coming down. So there we go. So you can kind of see this column more. I'll eventually, probably the last thing I do, last layer, I'll add some hatch lines some contour lines to give this more of a curved look. I just realized, well, these lines are going the right way. Yeah, they should be curving this way. So this will get more round looking. I do want to use my Sharpie to pull out this piece. Sounds good, can't wait till you start using the pen. Love me some Lamy. Love me some Lamy. One of the things you guys might notice I do is after I cap my pen, I'll usually put the cap there and then I'll end up taking it off. I don't like to sketch with the cap on. I feel like it inhibits me from freely rotating the pen around. So I'll usually just take the cap off because now I can spin it with no issues. I have fidgety hands. My hands like to— my hand likes to move the pen, move the brush, be able to rotate it, spin it. So just, just a pro tip, maybe take the cap off your pen if you're like me and you like to move it around. Actually, let's pull some details here. There's a pipe thingy that comes down right in here. Here. So I am, I am looking at a reference picture, but I am not showing you guys because loosely using the reference picture. And sometimes if I show the picture, people are like, that doesn't look like the picture, which I guess is a good thing because I don't want it to look exactly like the picture. I'm really— I'm not using it for color, that's for sure. Kind of making my own colors up, but just some of the objects I see I'm using it for. Some kind of pipes happening in there. This— I'm going to start pulling out some lines in here. This is a This is actually a railing up here. This isn't— there's a seating area up in this. So I am drawing the interior of a space, and it's a place I would love to go visit sometime soon and take some awesome pictures of and sketch. I'll zoom in because I'm going to work on this section here, I think, for a few minutes. We have some steel structure happening here, some steel channel beams. Let's see, we got a piece up here, back here like this. Some kind of pulley system here happening with a belt on it. Some kind of— I don't even know what this is, some kind of box or motor thingy. It's okay, I don't really need to know what it is, I just want to know the shape of it. And something happening there. Cool. There you go. So you can just see that some of the things are being pulled out when I'm adding the Sharpie. And again, I'm using the Sharpie here because I don't want this to bleed, because I'll probably be coming in with more color and throwing it down on there. Deborah says silo with conveyor belt. That's a great guess. Great guess. Great guess, but that is all I'm gonna say. I'm leaving everybody in suspense for the big reveal that'll happen probably in a couple of days. This is one of those, those pieces that's not quick on these sketches. This is something that's going to take a few days to work on, which I, I don't mind. I'm actually loving it. And I'm kind of taking my care a little bit with it. It might not look like it, but I am. And yeah, pull this shape out down here as well. Oh, I see what that is. Okay, cool. Oh, I just tried to sketch with my Sharpie over. All right, that's not going to happen now. It's going to be dry. Alright, that's not gonna happen now either. Let's try out— let's use the Lamy maybe. Uh-oh, why are my pens not cooperating? Are my pens telling me it's time to say goodnight? My Lamy's not working. I always like to have scrap paper by. I might have to add ink in here. Weird, that works upside down. I'm gonna sketch with it upside down. Nope, that ain't happening. I do have other black pens I can use. Looks like there's ink in here. Just clean this. Let me dip this in here, see if I can clean this out a little bit. That work? That seemed to work. So this, this will bleed. It's Lamy ink, and that's okay because I think I want to soften these lines anyway. So I don't mind if it bleeds. So we're gonna soften that, I'm gonna add a little bit of water. Alright, cool. So I'm throwing down some water here. I'm gonna soften this up a little bit. That's cool. I like the way that looks. Soften this edge a little bit as well. I saw a question. I think it said, um, what, what's, what size is it? Oh, if you could, if you could, um, I'm not sure what you're asking. The size of something. If you can let me know what you're asking about. That would be awesome. I have, I have mush brain, so I'm not sure what I said. Yeah, just remind me in the chat and I'll see if I can answer the question. You might, it might be the size of the Lamy pen, maybe the nib, maybe that's the question. Cool. I'm liking the way this is looking. Looking. I'm loving it. I'm actually loving the colors right here. Boom. Let's do our little frame thingy. Grab a frame. One of my drawers here. Okay, let's use this one. So let's just zoom in on some areas of this that I think are looking pretty cool. We'll zoom close. Move that up. So I really like the colors that are happening in this square on the left, kind of the yellow, the, the copper color, the black, even with a little spot of turquoise in there. That's a pretty cool, cool, uh, color combo happening right in that area. See what else. I actually kind of like what's happening here. There's an interesting texture thingy that's happening in here where the white spot is. It's kind of interesting looking. And then up here there's a texture thing happening I really like also. I don't think my camera's focusing. My— I don't know if the camera's actually picking this up, but there's some really cool, great, um, what's the word, granulation happening on this paper right up here. Cool. Any other cool framing? I'm not cray-cray about this yet on the right here. I think it'll start to look better when I add the pen lines. I'm not— I don't want to do that tonight, so we'll see what happens. If not, I could always crop this out. Let's just take a look at the little black frame out. Sometimes I like to frame small sections. This actually looks kind of cool. I wouldn't even mind this just being the whole sketch right here. I kind of like this section in the frame. I move it to the— here a little bit more. Me, maybe something like kind of like cropping that off. I like it here. You slide it down a little bit. I think that could be a really cool painting right here. Oops. Let me know what you guys think. Is that a cool little cropped out area? Um, hey Deborah, take care, have a great night. Awesome, thank you for tuning in, it's great, great to see you. Deborah says, yep, loving the framing time, zooming in. So it looks kind of cool. So hopefully I'm getting some industrial vibes happening here. Kind of the colors, the grungy kind of look. The kind of the ink, the paint just running down the page. So it's all trying to tie into an aesthetic I'm going for. All right, I'm going to wrap up in a couple of minutes. Getting tired. Um, love the crop. Hey, thank you. Yeah, I, I agree, I'm loving that crop too. I know I do want to add this. I was just thinking of this. This off a little bit. So I'm just dipping into my watercolor palette. Love this Winsor Newton, Winsor Newton Cotman watercolor palette. I've, I've had this one for a long, long, long time. As you can see, I need to replace some paints in it. Um, I do have a brand new one as a backup ready to go if I need it. But yeah, I've been using this thing for a long time. But I just want to grab some turquoise out of here. You know, I need to add some vertical lines. It actually needs a bigger— I need more space on the left of my board. All right, let's see. I want to throw down, uh, maybe back in here, maybe right in here. So this actually is a glass railing here in the front. So we're looking kind of at the edge of the top of the rail, and these are kind of sections. I'm going to pull some of that back, but these are some of the sections where the glass pieces of glass are meeting. I got, I got way too dark with this one, so I'm just going to blot it out. We'll add— we'll try it again. All right, that's better. Cool. So this is kind of— this is a glass railing. These are glass panels here. This is kind of the edge of the top of the glass, and these are where the glass panels are butting next to each other. I always feel like I'm in the Wild West when I hear this song. Um, hey Sally Ann Smithson, good to see you. Hope all's well. Great to see you. Wrapping up in a bit. I am. You know, you guys know I always say that and I'm on for another 20 hours. No, no, I do have to get to bed. I wanna— got a lot of work to do tomorrow. I want to go somewhere special on Sunday. I can't go unless I get work done tomorrow. And, um, I'll let you guys know where I'm headed if I go there. Because I'll be trying to stream live from there, maybe. If not, at least taking some videos I can post, or pictures. I gotta work my tail off tomorrow in order to take a day off Sunday. Cool. So, um, I love mixing blue and brown to make gray shadows. I know, I know there's all kinds of gray paint you can just use direct, but I just like mixing this color myself. Sometimes I'll add more blue in it, more gray. It's something I only started doing recently, actually. That's cool. So you can see I'm just building up some layers now. She wants some more blue in here. Let's put some blue, more blue in here. Pull— there we go. I'm gonna throw a little bit of that turquoise in with this blue and brown. I'm gonna throw some Some more blue, I think. There's someone here. All right, cool. So now you can kind of see the overview, and I think that might be a wrap, almost a wrap for tonight. I do want to add— uh, we'll just take this color and we'll see how it looks. Maybe Maybe not. Um, Sunday could be video trip if work gets done. Can't wait. Hey, thanks. Yeah, I don't like this line actually. I don't like this one I just threw in. We're gonna look, we're gonna let it dry and see. I might be able to work with it. Alright, cool. I think that might be a wrap for tonight, guys. Alright, so this is day 2, 3 I worked on this, I don't remember. So I'm gonna let it dry. The next step I'll do tomorrow is, um, I think we're just gonna break out the pen, Sharpie, or actually even maybe the Pilot Precise, and we're gonna do some line work. And this, and this will be close to being done, I think, after tomorrow. Hey guys, thank you so much for watching. I hope you have an awesome rest of your Friday. It's almost over here. And yeah, thank you so much. I appreciate all— thank you for liking this and sharing, caring. Thank you guys for posting your photos, your artwork. Love, love seeing everybody else's work. And I appreciate your support in the comments here. Thank you guys so, so much. And I'm hope maybe I don't know, maybe tomorrow night I'll come on. I want to do a sketch giveaway for reaching 1,000 followers here on my Facebook page. I want to do some kind of sketch giveaway, so maybe we'll do that tomorrow night. Thank you so much, guys. I appreciate y'all. Take care. G-Ray said almost a wrap. He's adding another pipe. Uh-oh, I don't like the lines. Thank you. Now get some rest and drink your water. Yeah, I do need to drink water. It's very dry in here. Um, dry time. Good night all. De-ray, take care, be well, stay warm and safe with all of that snow and those earthquake tremors out there. Uh, Andrea was here. Thank you for tuning in. I'm glad you made the live, and thank you for watching the replays when you're not watching live. I Really, really appreciate that. Good, good stuff. Deborah was in the house. Thank you, Deborah, for tuning in. Good to see you as well. This was fun. I saw some, uh, people I haven't seen in a while. Great stuff. Thank you guys for liking this. Take care, have a great, great night. Peace and live creatively. See you soon. And maybe next time I'll do, do my hair up a little bit. I'm just, just kidding. I am not about looks. Take care. Good night, guys. I love this song, by the way. I'm gonna listen to it for a minute before I log out. This song has a nice vibe to it.
