Jason J Nicholas - The Inkspired Life - Nature Walk - 08.10.2020

Jason Nicholas leads a nature walk through the woods with three other speakers, pausing to notice water, rocks, root systems, and scents. He shows how shifting your physical viewpoint—standing, kneeling, zooming in—reveals new patterns and textures that spark creative ideas.

Hey there, so I'm outside today. Beautiful day, taking a walk out in the woods here. You can hear probably the water or see the water running. I figured let's see what's out here, what can inspire us today. So let's take a look.
This is kind of a view of the beautiful bridge up there.
See the water running down the hill. So when I'm taking a walk, I just look for— I'm really not looking for anything specific, I'm just trying to see what jumps out at me.
You know, one of the things I see is I really like the patterns of the water, the way it's kind of all, um, foaming or coming together over here. I always found that really interesting.
The sound is inspiring.
I love the sound of The rock formations here are pretty interesting. I like the patterns in them and the way the light— you see it in the shadow— falls on the rocks. The age of the rocks, the cracks.
This is really cool.
I love the pattern and the textures and the lines of this root system down here on this tree. There's a lot of character here.
I like the colors of it.
The texture. That's pretty inspiring. I probably do something with that. I see some little folks with the box of red flowers down there.
Flowers.
Let's go check a look at them.
Cross this bad boy. Another view up the hill.
All right, going to try to jump this. So I'm just moving ahead, walking down. A little bit quieter down here. I love watching the way the water flows.
Sometimes kind of traveling down here, spilling out, crashing against the rock.
The bubbling pattern.
Those red flowers I saw from up above, really cool. So I'm just kind of taking it all in, the sounds, the sights, the smells. Feel the rocks under my feet. I guess the point is, or the lesson is, just to be open to your surroundings. Don't always be so focused and narrow-minded. You never know where inspiration is going to come from.
I like, I like the colors.
This is cool.
I mean, I like the colors here of the rusty color rock against the white of the water. There's a nice contrast going on there.
This is just a beautiful scene here, kind of the water trickling along in the brook down here amongst the trees. I'm going to be quiet for a minute and just walk around. And what do you see as I'm doing this? What are some of your observations? One of the things I'll also do when I'm walking around and looking is I'll change my viewpoint. Um, so right now I'm standing up looking around, then maybe I'll get down and I'll kind of kneel down and just look closer, zoom in on something. Sometimes just getting that little bit of, um, getting a little bit closer to your subject, you might see something else. So that was just a quick look around, just so you guys can get a sense of where I am, and hope that helped you. I'm just trying to throw out some ideas, just see things differently or hear things differently, even smell things. I mean, there's a smell here of the brook, the dampness. It's just being in the present, being in the now, and if the now can inspire inspire you to do great things or just inspire you to be positive, then that's amazing. Thanks so much for watching this. I'll be back. This was Jason Nicholas with The Inspired Life. Peace and live creatively. See you guys real soon.
