day. Uh, the end of the week is here. Do you have any fun weekend plans coming up? Did you get anything fun done today? Anything accomplished? Let me know. Sorry about that, Ghost up there, just ducking under a branch. Um, just taking a quick walk with my favorite pup. There she is. So let's just do a little Hiking Mike today. Uh, Again, these are just off the cuff. I'm riffing. Nothing's prepared. I am out here just being simply myself and simply being human. So, and that includes the shaky camera. So just stick with me, and if you like what you're seeing, subscribe, thumbs up, all that fun stuff. So pretty nice day out here, nice kind of cool temperature. Love that sky. One of the things that fascinates me when I'm always walking outside, no matter where, is I love looking up at the clouds and how the light comes through the clouds. I find it so interesting, kind of the dark and the light and the shapes, the patterns. It's just really cool to see that. Hey Edie, good to see you. So I kind of have to remind myself as I'm walking around, um, look up, look up sometimes, guys, because that is sometimes where the best views are, the most inspiring views are. Even when I'm walking in New York City, same thing. Looking up at the buildings offers a whole new interesting view and perspective. It's just really, uh For me, it's just really, uh, it's the word— not inspiring. There's a word for it. It's very— I like it a lot, I will say that. Um, again, these are not plans, as you can tell. Just being me out here. Let me flip the camera. You don't want to see that. My dog is pulling me. Sorry about the shaky camera. Olivia's pulling me a little bit, and that's okay because she's exploring, being curious. Look. She's just wandering, smelling things. And, um, again, that's another reminder, just a reminder to stay curious in your surroundings. Look, look at different things, different pathways. Um, just try to see the world in new, curious, childlike ways. That sense of wonder, especially for like a creative brain like me, um That sense of wonder is a great way to keep replenishing that well of creativity, just being curious and seeking and looking, right? But that applies to everybody. Hope you guys are all having a wonderful day out there. Thank you for tuning in for this quick little walk today. I did get some new tech, um, it's just I had to figure out how to livestream with it. It's kind of a pain in the neck, but we'll get the hang of it. But that's okay, I just took my phone out, we're just walking with the phone. If you think about it, it's really incredible the technology that we can hold in the palm of our hands, right? A powerhouse for sure. Uh, Edie says, how close are you to your home? Um, well, let's see, if I was a squirrel, I'd be right at my house. Um, I'm actually pretty close. I'm not too far from my house. This is definitely not my backyard though. I love where I live because it's a really cool location. I'm not too far from New York City, not too far from nice parks like this, not too far from the beach, the Jersey Shore. So that's definitely one of the benefits of living in New Jersey, just those locations to things. A cell phone has more computing power than the computers that landed Apollo on the moon. No way! That's— that is the fun fact of the day. That's incredible. Can you imagine that? And we, uh, we just take it for granted. We have our cell phones and we can text, communicate whenever we want, play Animal Crossing whenever we want, or whatever games. Surf the web. Oh yeah, and make phone calls. How many— I'm curious, who out there makes phone calls on their phones anymore? I'm kind of guilty. I'm a, I'm a texter. I'd rather text than talk. I know that might sound weird, so it might be something a little bit of a lost art to the phone call. That would be kind of a cool book to write, The Lost Art of the Phone Call. If you guys like what you're watching, please give me a thumbs up. Also subscribe. There are— will be more walking videos, sketching. I love sketching. Um, I love going to New York City, streaming from there. And the streams will be less shaky, I promise. All right, just got to keep our eyes up because this is definitely bear country. I don't want to— I'm going to jinx myself if I keep saying that. We went to the moon with vacuum tube technology. That is insane. It's really insane to think about how fast technology is developing. It's exponential, the way it just keeps changing, changing, changing, you know, getting better, faster, more powerful. Better could be a question mark. Better could mean a lot of things. Is the tech getting better? Is it better for us? That's a whole different topic, right? And I love tech. I use— obviously I'm on my phone. I, I use AI. I've incorporated it to some daily practices. I believe it's a tool that we can use, but not something that should take over our brains, but it's definitely a supplement. I like pausing here into the stream. Let's pause, Liv. Come on, Liv, let's look at the water. Just a moment of peace.
All right, we're heading back.
I'm gonna let you guys just listen to the birds for a minute or so, and if I run, you know why. Oh, there will be no running. Hey, you want to go up the hill? Let's go up the hill.
Um, Olivia.
Be interesting to see how she would react, but I don't want to take a chance. She's very good at protecting us from the Amazon delivery truck and people repairing the water main in the street at 2 AM in the morning, which is what time I've been up since today. 2 AM. I'm beat, guys. But you know what, that's not an excuse for me to not get out, get some exercise. Just push myself a little bit and get this fresh air today. All right, we're going to come out to the clearing, which is one of my favorite views. Here it is. I love this view. Oh yeah. All right, we'll head up to the hill and we'll end the stream. That was— Livvy, that's your cue to go up the hill. No, up this way, silly. She's so silly. Spin move. All right, up the hill we go. We'll wrap up once we're up top. If we go up top. Yes, we're going straight. Thank you guys for taking this quick walk with me. Again, apologize for the shaky camera, but you know what, it's okay. I am like— we've probably walked just over a mile right now, up and down hills. Yes, this is, uh, this is County Park, I believe. We're gonna go down the hill. Let's go down. Ready? We'll go this way. All right, we'll go— we'll pass the thinking bench. I like to call this the thinking bench. There you go, the thinking bench. Ta-da! All right guys, I think we're gonna wrap here. Um, thanks for joining me on this quick little walk. I love coming on, just talking with you for a couple of minutes, wandering both, um, on the path and wandering in my brain. It's just a kind of a peek of how I think. My brain jumps all over the place, and sometimes I don't really try to control it. I go with it. I've learned to embrace it. And sketching is a great tool for me to embrace that flow of jumping all over the place. Sketching can get me focused, centered, capture what I'm thinking about. And walking— walking is a place for me to think, to process. So being out in nature really helps me process things. Walking helps me process things. So it's kind of a win-win. Yeah, so you guys are awesome. I love that you joined me on this, this quick walk here. If you like this, subscribe to my channel where we do walks like this from here, from New York City. Um, mostly focus on architectural, quick, loose, fast sketching. I might livestream tonight around 9 PM. We'll see if I can stay awake that long. Yeah, I've been up since 2 AM. I am tired. But thank you so much for your time. I appreciate you. Until we chat again, sketch boldly, live creatively, and embrace imperfection. One last look. Alright.
