Jason Nicholas sketches Disney's Swan Resort lobby, a round corridor with a coffered ceiling and piano. He works on his phone without a tripod, narrating the curved architecture and niche alcoves that drew him inside when rain interrupted his outdoor sketching.

Hey, I'm back again. Let me get connected. Um, yeah, it's raining, so I decided to move inside and do some quick sketching here in this kind of corridor type of space. I love the perspective here. This is a really cool kind of round room. That goes into a really nice perspective down a hallway. Um, here's what I like about this. I love— this could have been a straight continuous hallway, right? But I love the added round section that kind of breaks it up and it creates a transition space. You can actually see here they have a piano set up, which is neat. Look at— just look at the details. Even the ceiling, right, has this cool kind of round coffer carved into it. And another thing I love about this space is the walls aren't just continuous across. You have these little alcoves or niches, or niche, however you want to say it. And they have, they have plants in there, so that's a cool idea. And they're lit up separately also, so that just creates another level of detail. So I'm going to sit here and sketch this space quickly. I actually did another one on my, um, Facebook page Here's a quick view of what I was sketching earlier, and I'm probably gonna do maybe one just focus on this round space. Maybe we'll start it here. And I'm trying to master the art of sketching and holding my phone at the same time. It is tough. I could have brought a tripod or something and I didn't. So yeah. So I'm gonna sketch it and feel free to watch and I'll show what it looks like. Thanks.
