Hey, how are you today? Jason Nicholas Nicholas from The Inspired Life. I'm out doing a little, uh, walk, talk, and some bunny spotting. We just had a downpour not too long ago here. It's, um, so it's kind of gray, overcast. We also have, uh, smoke. I guess it's all gray from the wildfires, um, in Canada. So the smoke is trickling, or it's in the atmosphere here as well. So, uh, join me for this walk and talk. I don't know what we'll talk about, but let's see if we can find any bunnies on today's walk. And you know what, I see one. So if you look on the left, there is actually one there already. Boom, he's right over there. So I am walking, just holding the phone in my hand, no gimbal, so it'll be bouncy. But you know what, that's okay. Yeah, there's one right there on the left. Hey, Edie's in the house! Good to see you, I hope you're doing well. Yeah, so we got our first bunny sighting today right there on the left, right over in there. I'll kind of stop and you can kind of get a look. I don't know if you can see it on camera, but bunny number one. Hello, bunny! Hi! What's up, buddy? They're so cute. Hi, Bubby, how are you? Let me let him be. So we got bunny number 1. Bye, bunny. I don't like to get too close. I want to let— you know, I don't want to scare them, chase them away. I want them to be friendly. So I make that sound. So I, I don't know if it's true or not, but I have this weird theory. If I make that sound every time I see one and they hear it and nothing bad happens to them Next time they hear that sound, they'll know it's friendly. A friendly sound. I don't know, that's just what my brain's telling me, so I don't know if it works or not. Sometimes you just gotta go with whatever your brain's telling you. Give things a try, it doesn't hurt. All right, he's doing great. Thank you. I am doing great. Yes, we are getting— we're getting the smoke here as well from the forest fires. Um, I see bunny number 2, guys. Bunny number 2, boom, up there on the left. It's a pretty big one. Yeah, so it's kind of smoky here. You could smell the smoke in the atmosphere. Um, what a shame while this forest fire is happening. Mr. Bunny's hopping away from us. I didn't do my sound. I don't know if you guys can see this one. He's like right there. Oh, he went bye-bye. All right, two bunnies too, and the flies are out like crazy. There's this fly that's It's liking me. All right, let's see, we have, uh, what else we can find. Bunnywise, or they're fun to see as well. I see Bunny 3. I'm pretty good at spotting them. This one's gonna be really hard to see on camera for you guys, but he is way Way, way back there. Bunny 3. I'll get closer. Bunny number 3. Oh dang, we have a jackpot here. We have a bunny jackpot, bunny jackpot. There's one there and there are actually two down yonder, but I lost count. Is that 5? This one's a little tiny guy. He's so cute. I love seeing him. I've seen them so much now I can kind of tell them apart. I shouldn't— I I should name them. And the ones up yonder have hopped away. I still see one, but this guy is like right in here. Yeah, he's right there. I'm not going to get too close, buddy. All right, so the two that were up here have hopped away. Oh, I see another one, guys. This one's really hidden. He's really hidden down there. Let's see if we can get closer. He's right down in there. So this would be bunny number 6. Hey, Bubby! He's right I'm not going to get closer. All right, number 6, number 6. All right, this is where I saw the two earlier. I think they hopped down that way, but we'll go by these rocks. They usually like to hang out on the rocks here. All right, no luck. All right, so 6. All right, we're gonna take a walk. We're gonna leave Bunny Alley. We're gonna head up to Middle-earth, do a little walk and talk, and then from Middle-earth we'll go up to the Thinking Tree. And, uh, maybe we'll see some more on our journey. I actually saw some yesterday up by the Thinking Tree level, and I don't usually see them up there. I saw two, so maybe we'll see them today, or other ones there. All right, sorry, just switching hands here. So yes, this, this, uh, what the smoke from the wildfires, it's crazy. Um, I don't remember, it was last year, maybe it was 2 years ago when the intense smoke, you know, made its way down here. I remember we were in school and I remember ashes and stuff actually, uh, somehow getting into school. It was really crazy. So I think this is— I don't know when it's going to clear up, but I hope the fire stops for the fire's sake, and hopefully everybody is safe out where the fires are happening. Scary, right? All right, we're headed up to Middle Earth. I miss my sun. Usually the sun's shining right over there. Welcome to Middle Earth. Let's see if we find any bunnies, um, or even turtles. I've, I've seen two turtles up in this area, which I was kind of surprised about. Water is not really It's kind of way down the hill over there. If you like these kinds of walks and talks, or you'd like to see me walking in NYC or sketching architecture, live streaming either usually on location or most of the times in my studio at home, feel free to like this, subscribe. I'd love to have you become part of this awesome community. We have some amazing, amazing people that join our chats, and one of them is here right now. I believe Edie— Edie is maybe still in the house. So my pup did not want to go for a walk. I tried so hard She did not want to leave the house. Usually she out here walking. All right, we're going to head up to the Thinking Tree level. So I will be livestream sketching either tonight or tomorrow morning, maybe. I'm not sure. Probably tonight. I actually have a homework assignment I need to do some, uh, sketching, some interior design sketching. So I thought I'd go live and, um, do something a little different. I haven't livestreamed any really interior design stuff, so I'll be doing that. Oh, I— do I see one? Wait, wait, do I see one over here? Nope. But I love this view. Check this view out, it's so awesome. Yeah, Olivia might not like the smell of smoke. That's a really good point, I didn't think about that. That might be— I mean, I had her outside a few times running around and hanging outside today, but yeah, that's a real good possibility. Alright, and here is the, what I call the thinking tree. There's actually two trees, I should call it the thinking trees. This nice little stand here. Sadly, it's, you know, events like forest fires, these wildfires, that really, really, you know, wake us up and make us stop and think. Or I just speak for myself, make me stop and think about how precious wildlife and nature is around us. And how blessed we are to have, you know, have it, to have, you know, have these beautiful trees here and grasses growing. And it's just, it's really a privilege, and it's a reminder we really just need to be, to treat and respect the natural environment that is around us, that we're in, and not abuse it. I guess that's my riff for today, is, um, taking things for granted that we, you know, that we see every day. And for me, it would be places like this. Um, really, we should just treasure each, each moment and you know, treat it with respect and kindness. Yeah, I know I'm talking about trees and bunnies and rocks and whatever, but you know what, world and their part of the world. And there's the thinking bench up there. Let's, uh, we'll head down this way. It's really overgrown here and I kind of like it. They're not cutting as much area as they did last year up here. They're really letting a lot of it grow wilder, which I like in some ways. Hey, Jefferson House, good to see you, Jeff. Oh yes, you're talking about the fire tower. Yeah, Jeff knows this. Yeah, place. Yeah, Jeff, that's the fire tower. Um, I have never been to the top of the fire tower. Can you believe it? I have yet— in all these years, I have yet to hike up to the fire tower. It's on my list for this summer. So I have a friend, um, I have to contact him. He— I think he'll join me for a nice hike up there. Yeah, um, yeah, here on a clear day you can see NYC from there. How cool is that? I hear a bunch of bees. Where are they? The man, as he tries to find them— oh, I see one here. Pretty cool. I won't get closer than that. Again, respect, keep your distance, right? It definitely does smell smoky out here. You can see that haze. Look at the haze in the sky. All right, I'm going to walk down here and I'm going to show you one of my favorite, favorite views here. Um, we can get it from different— bunch of different locations. Actually, let's go across here, then I'll turn around. So this is one of my favorite views. I've sketched it a couple times. I'm gonna— you're gonna see me doing more sketches of this place this summer. I've been practicing landscapes and trees and something I don't really normally sketch, so stepping out of my comfort zone and just trying to sketch something different but in my own style. So this place has been inspiring me to sketch some nature. Oh, Edie, thank you. Edie always has the facts in there. Well, that stinks for the bumblebees. Um, I do— I want to do a, like, a bee garden bumble I'm sorry, bee and butterfly garden, wildflower garden at my house. That's something I've been wanting to do. So this kind of just gives you a sense of when I'm out walking and looking and enjoying the outdoors, kind of the things I do. I will look around, I'll look at the same view, the same object from many different angles. So right, there's the thinking, the thinking tree up there, and I'll just try to see it from different angles, different perspectives. I like this, I kind of like here how the landscape— oops, sorry, it's focusing on my finger— kind of drops down. There's a path that winds its way up here as well, a trail. I'm looking at— when I look at landscapes, I'm looking at contour lines. If you see me sketching, I talk about contour lines that give shape and form. I do it a lot on like lighthouses to help give— make it look curved. I do on land as well to kind of give curvature to the landscape. So I'm looking at this, and in my brain I'm processing a couple things. I'm processing one the view, the perspective of the object. I'm processing the landscape. I'm thinking about how I would sketch this with contour lines to make it look sloped. I'm looking at lines, obviously, things I can just do with quick lines, like we have the grasses growing up, boom boom boom, those would be quick just strokes up with a pen. And I'm looking at clusters of shapes, right? We have the clusters of shapes here from the hedges. And then the cluster of shapes that's trees. So that's just a couple of the things that my brain looks for and thinks about as I'm processing the landscape. And guess what? Bunny number 7. This bunny is often here in the spot, and he, he or she is there right now. Let's go check it out. Moksi will go this way. He's right up, right up in there, way in the distance. Oh dang, he just hopped away. I don't know if you guys saw him. He literally hopped away. He just hopped back in there. All right, so that was bunny 7. Let's— we're on 8, I can't remember. 6, 7. No, I won't— I'm not doing the 6, 7 thing. 6, 7, or 8. I think that was 7. All right, let's head back up towards the tree and we'll wrap up, up top here. The skeeters are kind of starting to bite me. Um, here's another kind of view I like catching with this trail. Why going up the hill lead to the tree. I love contour orientation maps. You can tell exactly how the land lies. Yeah, right? Yeah, contour maps are really cool. Uh, next time I'm sketching, I'll point out, you know, when I'm doing contour lines. Alright, let's walk up here. I'll be quiet. Alright, we're gonna wrap up here by the Thinking Bench, Thinking Tree. Ta, here we are. Awesome. Alright, so, um, thank you for joining me on this quick walk here. Our bunny spotting. So I'm gonna say we saw 7 tonight. How cool is that? I'll take it. And I think just the rift tonight was really just about appreciating and not taking things for granted, especially the natural world, the natural environment that we are lucky to be around. Even, you know, if you're in a cityscape Um, you know, appreciate any public, you know, greenery you have, parks you have. Central Park, you know, comes to mind. It's a spectacular place. Or any patches of greenery that you have, and it could even be as simple as a couple of potted plants out on a small porch or even on a windowsill, right? It doesn't matter. All right, if you like this, please give me a thumbs up while you're watching. Now on your way out, give me that thumbs up. Let's spread this positivity out there. If you like these kind of walks in nature, you know, sometimes I'll livestream from New York City, and I'm often livestream sketching architecture, which is my, my passion. Subscribe. I would love for you to subscribe and join the awesome community. We had Jeff in the house here and Edie, um, regular viewer, and I appreciate you for your time so much. Um, that up there is the— that's— I think that's, um, a TV— not TV, that's a phone tower up there. That's what we saw before. The fire tower is actually down this way. Uh, we can't see it from here, but yeah, I believe that is the TV— sorry, I keep saying TV— the phone tower. The commu— we'll call it the communications tower up there. The bench strong enough to take a person's weight? Yeah, I've sat on the bench, so it could support me. I would sit on tonight, but it's wet. Um, there you go, Jeff. So cool. I appreciate you ninja watching. That is awesome. Yeah, no worries. I appreciate that. I'm sure we have other ninja viewers out there, and I appreciate you as well. Until we meet again. Sketch boldly, live creatively, and embrace imperfection. And I'll let you know if I see any other bunnies on my way out.
